1. Alterations made along the way
The first alteration that we made was that we changed our location, due to when we were planning we
found that the first location was not very effective for our music video and for the shots that we wanted
to use. Our first location that we were going to film in was a field, however we then decided to use a
forest. We found that a forest would be a lot more effective as a background rather than a field and as
we filmed in autumn it was the perfecttime to film with all the leaves around and the trees being all
different, so made our Mise-en- Scene better. This was a lot better than the field that we were going to
use at the start as we wanted to portray our artists feeling isolated, which we found that a forest would
be better to portray rather than a field, which is a lot ofopen space.
Our second alteration that we made along the way was our shottypes and camera angles. When we
went to film we did different shottypes and angles from the variety that we had to see which ones
looked better and fitted the scene ofthis part ofthe music video. One camera angle that we changed
was that we first we were going to do a high angle shot ofour artist lying down on the floor, butinstead
we keptour artist lying on the floor and we putthe camera on the floor to the side, to match our artist
eye level.We changed this as we thought that the high angle shotlooked much staged and this is not
what we wanted the shotto look like.
Our final alteration that we made was our makeup and costume. We changed this a many of times
firstly with the makeup we wanted to do really minimal makeup, however we decided to trial a really
bold eye makeup look,withoutour artists face looking really harsh with lots ofmakeup on. The main
focus was on her eyes as we wanted them to stand out. Our costume we changed from our artist
wearing a dress to make her look very nice and innocent, which also linked in with the song which we
wanted to do, conversely our location was in a forest and so when we trialled the shot with the dress we
found that it didn’tlook very realistic, as you wouldn’tgo into a forest with a pure white dress on. We
decided to dress our artists with black jeans, black Chelsea boots, a purple jumper with a beige scarf
and black leather jacket. We found this look was very autumnal and suited our location a lotbetter than
the costume before.
