My group filmed a music video for the song "USSR" by Rejjie Snow over two days in London locations. On the first day they filmed scenes in Brick Lane and Oxford Street using a Canon DSLR camera, tripod, stabilizer and Bluetooth speakers to play the track. The second day they finished filming in Brick Lane, where they experienced some disturbances but overall found the area clear to film. They gained permission to film on private property during the shoot. The music video took 9 hours total to film over the two days, and the actors arrived on time and learned their lyrics properly.

2. Video Shoot Equipment
The production sheet had helped my group and I to
depict what we would need for particular scenes.
We had used A Canon 650D DSLR Camera, a tripod
and a camera stabilizer.
Camera:
The camera was easy to use as I have used an DSLR
camera before. For some of the scenes we had
changed the camera aperture, to control how much
light is being exposed. We had also used a 50mm
lens for our out of focus technique, which was used
as a special effect.
Tripod:
The tripod was used for panning (following the
characters journey) and for capturing the perfect
shot.
Camera Stabilizer:
Instead of the body stabilizer, we had chosen the
hand stabilizer which was much easier to use and
didn’t cause any discomfort for the camera holder.
Lighting:
For our choice of song my group and I wanted to
create a dark look but have light focusing on the
actors. Natural lighting was our main source of
light so that some scenes that were too light we
could edit the lighting in Final Cut Pro. Artificial
lighting was also used in our video shoot – a torch
light for the some locations that lacked in lighting .
We Had held the torch light towards the actors face
to illuminate their face so that it was visible. (more
info on slide 5).
Bluetooth Speakers:
We had used Bluetooth speakers to play the track
for the video , so that it could be loud enough so
the actors would know their queue to start lip
synching,
3. Location
• Brick Lane: Main Location
Our first day of the video shoot, we had travelled to Brick Lane to
shoot the second part of the song. While we were in Brick Lane we
didn’t experience any difficulties filming as the area was quite clear
– our recce had helped us choose the right the location to film so
we could complete the task efficiently. We filmed in: an ally
way, under a bridge, park pathway and on a staircase. We had
experienced some disturbance that caused the film crew and the
actors, unable to hear the audio track.
Private Property: Brick Lane
In Liverpool Street (where Brick lane is located), we had shot a
sheet a scene on Gun Street where a private building in the
background which was owned by a state entity. A person that was
patrolling the area had stated that we couldn’t take photos of the
building but he gave us permission to video with the owners
consent.
• Oxford Street
Some scenes were also shot at Oxford street on the first day of the
shoot too. In comparison to Brick Lane, it was more busy and
crowded so we had to quickly in order to finish off our scenes
and move to another location. We had stayed in oxford
street no longer than 20mins as we were doing an
establishing shot of the area.
4. Extra Info

• Where the actors on time ? Did they learn the lyrics properly ?
We had arranged to meet Jesse James (played by Bakar) at 1.30pm on Saturday
and he was on time for the shoot.
