- I don’t know how much I need to evangelize for mobile computing or for libraries connecting with patrons anymore, but I do want to tell you a little bit about why I think it’s important for now to be available to users in the spaces that they are already occupying. I’m going to talk at the end of my little spiel about why I think this is important for the future, but for now, I’ll talk about the present. Mobile phone use (and social media use) are growing constantly and exponentially There are two groups of people who connect largely through mobile devices young people and minority groups, who are less likely to have broadband access at home but are more likely to be savvy users of all of their device capabilities.
