Algae, the chlorophyll containing organisms known to have more than 20000 species. The multicellular plants growing in salt or fresh water are known as Macro-algae or “seaweeds”. Due to their fast growing nature can size up to 60 m in length 1 . Based on their pigmentation they are classified into three broad groups: i) brown seaweed (Phaeophyceae); ii) red seaweed (Rhodophyceae) and iii) green seaweed (Chlorophyceae). The main utilization of seaweeds are in the production of food and the extraction of hydrocolloids.

Algae are a diverse group of photosynthetic organisms that range from single-celled microalgae to large multicellular seaweeds. They play a crucial role in various ecosystems and have significant importance in fields such as ecology, biotechnology, and environmental science.

Sea weed Amphiroa anceps, collected from Thondi-Palk Strait region of Tamil Nadu, was studied for antagonistic activity of proteins. Seaweed species were identified based on specula morphology. Ethyl
Acetate extracts yielded a total of 0.9 g, 0.12 g, 0.02 g, 0.14 g and 0.17 g from 1.5 g of sponge respectively. The antagonistic activity of crude extract against bacterial pathogens showed clear inhibition zones against Yersinia sp., Streptococcus sp. and Vibrio sp. The extracted Seaweed strain had Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations against all the three chicken meat associated pathogens, Vibrio sp., Yersinia sp. and Streptococcus sp. and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration against two chicken meat associated pathogens, Vibrio sp. and Yersinia sp.

Some mangrove plants are used for a wide range of conditions, including bacterial, fungal, and viral diseases. The rise of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms is one of the severe problems in healthcare systems of the world, and infectious diseases are the second most serious cause of death worldwide. Therefore, new drugs have to be found in order to combat such diseases and it is essential to find new compounds that have antimicrobial properties. Medicinal-plant extracts, known to produce certain bioactive molecules which react with other organisms in the environment, are known to be less toxic to humans and are environmentally friendly due to the less pollutant released during production. Seaweeds are of potential nutraceutical and medicinal values due to their wide range of constituents such as proteins, carbohydrates, fatty acids, peptides, minerals, vitamins, and hydrocolloids. However, the seaweeds accumulate toxic heavy metals from their habitats, depending on land discharges, seasons, growth phase and duration of life cycle. As seaweeds are widely used as seafood and food ingredients of various delicious food items, some countries have regulatory rules for daily consumption of seaweeds and seaweeds based food items due to presence of heavy metals, but many countries even dont have such kind of regulatory limits, according to Food Administration organization (FAO) and World Health Organisation (WHO). Seaweeds are Primitive plants belonging to the algae family. Seaweeds are considered as a source of bioactive compounds as they can produce a great variety of secondary metabolites characterized by a broad spectrum of biological activities. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and because of their unique composition they possess several health-promoting properties. At present, Seaweed farming along with the production of pharmaceuticals has become a multibillion-dollar industry.
Trends in the geometric size and rated power capacity of offshore wind turbines, the main components of an OWT system, encompassing a typical monopile foundation, the substructure, transition piece, the tower, rotor blades and nacelle (hub). Modern OWTs are installed with either pitch-regulated blades or variable rotational speed systems in order to allow optimisation of the power production over a wide range of prevailing wind speeds. The rotational speed of the main rotor shaft is typically between about 10 and 20 rp. Key electromechanical components of the wind turbine, including the gearbox and the generator (Roberts et al.,2007). The gearbox may cause efficiency losses for the wind turbine and is the particular source of the noise. Recent developments in the design of permanent magnet generators have made it possible to construct some types of wind turbines without the requirement for a gearbox. In this case, the rotor is mainly connected directly to a low-speed multi-pole generator that rotates at the same speed, termed the direct-drive unit. Removing the gearbox mainly removes one of the key components requiring more maintenance, and that is mainly prone to failure. This simplification of the mechanical part allows reductions in size and the mass of the nacelle (Gilling, 2009).
The source of energy captured by plants is the sun, which will be the constant source of energy for the next few billion years. The carbon released from the burning of biofuels is continually cycled rather than being released from the ancient fixed carbon sources, as is the case for fossil petroleum and natural gas. The problem is that the cost of the production of fuels from lignocellulose and plant oils is high and this nascent industry cannot compete with the oil prices. Current progress: For the past two decades, ethanol has been synthesized primarily from cornstarch and cane sugar. Fourteen billion gallons of ethanol were synthesized in the USA from cornstarch in 2014. Approximately 40% of the current USA corn crop is availed to produce ethanol and is not likely to expand anymore, because the remainder of the crop is being availed for animal feed and human food. Ethanol is produced from cane sugar in Brazil at a level of 7.2 billion gallons in the year 2014. The renewable energy source is the major terrain to be considered (Sreeremya, 2019).
Agroforestry has a high potential for simultaneously satisfying three important objectives viz., protecting and also stabilizing the ecosystems; producing a high level of output of economic goods; and improving the income and basic materials to the rural population. They are common engineering materials in modern architecture and primarily availed for roofing and facade cladding due to their significance of visual appearance (important from an architectural perspective in terms of the design or during renovation of modern or ancient cultural building), ductility, malleability, the atmospheric corrosion resistance and long-term performance. When exposed to air, the copper forms a brownish-green or greenish blue corrosion layer, often denoted as the patina. Copper patina is commonly known as an aesthetically pleasing surface, and one reason for the extensive use of the copper metal and copper-based alloys in both the ancient and modern architecture. One of the most famous examples is the Statue of Liberty in the harbor of the New York, US.
Bronze alloys are the family of copper-based alloys traditionally alloyed with tin. Bronze alloys are of the exceptional historic interest and still finds wide applications.

For five of the chemicals studied (not bromobenzene) there is the very good correlation between the cytotoxic effects in Chlorella cells measured by the algal growth inhibition test, and also the inhibition of photosystem II activity (Chapman et al., 1991). The results suggest that one very key effect of these chemicals in the Chlorella cells is the inhibition of photosynthetic metabolism by the blocking of the photosystem II functionality.

As people have seen, the giant industrial wind farms, small household wind turbines, and also everything in between are erecting all over the places. In 2012, the electricity capacity from the wind power in the total electric capacity is about 7.2% in EU, 2.0% in China, and 3.6% in US. Nevertheless, most people agree that wind energy should claim much greater share of the future energy supply. For eg:-, the United States is working on an ambitious target of 21% total electricity capacity by 2030. Indeed, wind energy is one of the fastest growing energy sources today and also in the foreseeable future. However, findings a suitable site to build the wind farm or simply set up the wind turbine is not always easy. The wind must be strong and must be consistent; the tower cannot obstruct the view; and the noise cannot disturb the local residence. Due to the fast growth of the population, it is aggrandizingly difficult to find a suitable place that is proper for a wind turbine yet will not interfere with the people’s everyday life (Srensen et al., 2002).

The dynamic gene expression playing major roles in phenotypic differences in organisms are believed to be controlled by miRNAs. Mutations in regions of regulatory factors, such as miRNA genes or transcription factors (TF) necessitated by dynamic environmental factors or pathogen infections, have tremendous effects on structure and expression of genes. The resultant novel gene products presents potential explanations for constant evolving desirable traits that have long been bred using conventional means, biotechnology or genetic engineering. Rice grain quality, yield, disease tolerance, climate-resilience and palatability properties are not exceptional to miRN Asmutations effects. There are new insights courtesy of high-throughput sequencing and improved proteomic techniques that organisms’ complexity and adaptations are highly contributed by miRNAs containing regulatory networks. Diabetes is a rapidly and serious health problem in Pakistan. This chronic condition is associated with serious long-term complications, including higher risk of heart disease and stroke. Aggressive treatment of hypertension and hyperlipideamia can result in a substantial reduction in cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes 1. Consequently pharmacist-led diabetes cardiovascular risk (DCVR) clinics have been established in both primary and secondary care sites in NHS Lothian during the past five years. An audit of the pharmaceutical care delivery at the clinics was conducted in order to evaluate practice and to standardize the pharmacists’ documentation of outcomes. Pharmaceutical care issues (PCI) and patient details were collected both prospectively and retrospectively from three DCVR clinics. The PCI`s were categorized according to a triangularised system consisting of multiple categories. These were ‘checks’, ‘changes’ (‘change in drug therapy process’ and ‘change in drug therapy’), ‘drug therapy problems’ and ‘quality assurance descriptors’ (‘timer perspective’ and ‘degree of change’). A verified medication assessment tool (MAT) for patients with chronic cardiovascular disease was applied to the patients from one of the clinics. The tool was used to quantify PCI`s and pharmacist actions that were centered on implementing or enforcing clinical guideline standards. A database was developed to be used as an assessment tool and to standardize the documentation of achievement of outcomes. Feedback on the audit of the pharmaceutical care delivery and the database was received from the DCVR clinic pharmacist at a focus group meeting.

The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

2. • Algae, the chlorophyll containing organisms known to
have more than 20000 species. The multicellular plants
growing in salt or fresh water are known as Macro-
algae or “seaweeds”. Due to their fast growing nature
can size up to 60 m in length 1 . Based on their
pigmentation they are classified into three broad
groups: i) brown seaweed (Phaeophyceae); ii) red
seaweed (Rhodophyceae) and iii) green seaweed
(Chlorophyceae). The main utilization of seaweeds are
in the production of food and the extraction of
hydrocolloids.
3. • The discovery and development of antibiotics are among the most
powerful and successful achievements of modern
• science and technology for the control of infectious diseases. Prolonged
usage of broad – spectrum antibiotics has led to
• the emergence of drug resistance. There is a tremendous need for novel
antimicrobial agents from different sources. The
• biodiversity of marine ecosystem provides an important source of
chemical compounds which have many therapeutic
• applications. Seaweeds or marine algae have been reported to contain
many important compounds which act as antibiotics,
• laxatives, anticoagulants, anti-ulcer products and suspending agents in
radiological preparations. Many substances
• obtained from marine algae such as alginate, carrragenean and agar as
phycocolliods have been used for decades in
• medicine and pharmacy.
4. • APPLICATIONS
• 1. Hydrocolloids
• Various industrial products are made up from macro
algae 3. Alginates from the cell wall of brown algae are
polymers composed of D-mannuronic acid and L-
guluronic acid monomers are used in food and
pharmaceutical industries in the form of stabilizers for
emulsions and suspensions 4 . Carrageenans from the
cell wall of red algae have application in food, textile
and pharmaceutical industries.

5. • 2.Pharmaceuticals and cosmetics
• The micro-algae can produce bioactive
compounds like antibiotics, algicides, toxins. A lot
of antibiotics have been isolated from algae and
show great chemical diversity (fatty acids,
bromophenols, tannins, terpenoids,
polysaccharides, alcohols). Most of them produce
neurotoxic and hepatotoxic compounds 5 .
Chlorella and Arthrospira (Spirulina) are used in
skin care, sun protection and hair care products
6. • High value oils
• Long-chain poly-unsaturated fatty acids (vlcPUFAs)
eicosapentaenoic (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and
arachidonic acid (AA) known for their nutritional importance.
Interestingly the vlcPUFAs in the oil-rich fish originate from marine
micro-algae that are eaten by the fish. Algal genes encoding
relevant enzymes have been identified and recently several groups
have reported progress on using these genes to produce DHA and
ARA in transgenic plants, including crops such as soybean, linseed,
tobacco and the model species Arabidopsis 12 . By adding
additional genes to the ones that are needed to produce ARA and
EPA, production of DHA has been established in soybean, Brassica
juncea and Arabidopsis 13 . An alternative approach is to use
directly the algae that are the most efficient primary producers of
the vlcPUFAs.
7. • Need of the hour
• We are now at the crucial stage where it is essential to explore new strategies in order to combat infectious
diseases.
• The oceans represent virtually untapped resource from which novel bioactive compounds can be discovered. The
• marine environment representing approximately half of the global biodiversity, is an enormous resource for new
• compounds. Sea weeds or marine algae are potentially prolific sources of highly bioactive secondary metabolites
that
• might represent useful leads in the development of new pharmaceutical agents. Many reports have been
published about
• isolated compounds from algae with biological activity, demonstrating their ability to produce metabolites, with
high
• complexity and unlimited diversity of pharmacological and/or biological properties.
• 3. Seaweeds
• Seaweeds belong to a group of plants known as algae. Seaweeds are classified as Rhodophyta (red algae),
Phaeophyta
• (brown algae) or Chlorophyta (green algae) depending on their nutrient, pigments and chemical composition. Like
other
• plants, seaweeds contain various inorganic and organic substances which can benefit human health [9]. Seaweeds
are
• considered as a source of bioactive compounds as they are able to produce a great variety of secondary
metabolites
• characterized by a broad spectrum of biological activities. Compounds with antioxidant, antiviral, antifungal and
• antimicrobial activities have been detected in brown, red and green algae
