4. INTRODUCTION
 It is government owned mega tall complex of seven skyscraper hotel in MAKKAH.
 Located in Makkah adjacent to MASJID-AL-HARAM

5. CONSTRUCTION DETAIL
 The building was planned in 2002.
 It is also designed in same year 2002 by a Lebanon company Dar Al Handasah
 The construction of the tower starts in year 2004
 Main contractor of the building is Kingdom’s largest construction company Saudi
Bin Ladin Group
 Its construction completed in 2012

6. ACCCIDENTS DURING CONSTRUCTION
 Two major accidents occurred during the construction of Al Braj Al Bait both of
the accidents were of fire
 1st accident occurred on 28 October 2008 at Hajar Tower
 Fire started shortly after midnight and spread all over the building due to the
wood used in construction.
 It took 400 fire fighters to put out the fire.
 The building was cleared by fire fighters in 10 hours consuming 9 floors of the
tower.
 Fortunately no injuries were reported in the accident.

 Second fire accident was held on 1 may 2009 at Safa tower.
 Fire broke out at 14th floor and reached 20th floor of the building.
 Fire broke out just after ASR prayer when some worker in building were welding
iron rods on wooden scaffolding.
 Fire damage a large part of building under construction.
 No injuries were reported in the accident.
