Software Design Of A Computer Based System
A key requirement of the software design of a computer based system is to transform basic
requirements into an architecture that describes the software s top level structure and identifies its
components. Accomplishment of this requirement is through architectural design, providing a
blueprint for developing the framework of the software (Mattsson, Lundell, Lings, Fitzgerald,
2009). The establishment of the framework involves examining the software requirements
document and designing a model for providing necessary implementation details. The details
specify components of the system along with all inputs, outputs, functions, and the interactions
between the components. This paper includes a description of the architectural design of a
computer based system that has transform characteristics, and includes a data flow diagram with
process narrative, and evaluation of the architectural design. Further, an assessment of the
structuring requirements associated with software architectureis included.
Architectural Design Structure An architectural design performs key functions, and is of crucial
importance in software engineering during the phase of software development where the essential
requirements of reliability, cost, and performance are determined. Architectural design provides the
definition of the abstraction level at which the software design specifies both the functional and
performance behaviors of the system, and the guidelines for enhancing the system by

Saratoga Hostel v. Avila (2009)
In 1999, Maria Avila was hired as a housekeeper by Saratoga Hostel; she was 42 years old. Her
duties included: cleaning twelve rooms a day, doing some laundry, and cleaning the hallways as
well. Due to the economic crisis of 2009, Saratoga Hostel hired a new business consultant to find
ways to reduce costs and personnel. The housekeeping department let go 3 of their 10 employees.
The manager then decided to train all employees to clean 14 rooms per day instead of 12. When
the training was over, 3 employees could not handle the pressure of the new routine, Avila was of
them. These three employees were given another week of training. After that week, when... Show

discrimination. Reid was fired for not being a fit to Google s culture; Avila was terminated
because she was not a fit to the new Saratoga Hostel s performance standard policy. Under FEHA,
the employer is required to establish that its practice is justified by business necessity. In Avila s
case, Saratoga Hostel can prove that under the new business plan, the company was forced to
change their performance standard in order to stay in business.

Explain What Autonomy Is In Respect To Human Dignity
1.Explain what autonomy is in respect to human dignity.
Autonomy in respect to human dignity is the right to self determination and it was used to be in
medicine to document all the decisions for the patients but that is not the case anymore. The
patients now have the right to make choices based on their own beliefs, their own values, and their
own needs. As a respiratory therapist, we have to be careful that we should not try to substitute our
religious or cultural beliefs for someone who don t believe in something; we have to remember the
patients are in control. For instance, do not resuscitate orders in some culture would be considered
unacceptable; therefore, we have to do everything to prevent death. ... Show more content on

Some people say that healthcare is a business and we are responsible for paying for our own care
and say that health care pricing should be subject to free market forces as well. This mystery lies
on personal responsibilities, for example, people with bad habits such as smoking or overeating or
speeding and riding their motorcycle without a helmet, they should be charged more for health care
because it is suspected that they are going to cost more in the long run. https://www.aarc.org

What did you select when voting and why did you select that choice?
The ethical dilemma in case 1 is autonomy and non maleficence. The physician writes an order for
respiratory therapy to turn off the ventilator and extubate the patient and what would you do in
that case. I think I would carry out the order because it was both the patient s and family s own
decision. There was no evidence of cognitive impairment, the patient was awake and alert as they
took him out of the sedation and said that

The Oligarch s Idea Of Athenian Democracy
On the first meeting of the Assembly at the Pnyx, Thearion, the celebrity baker who intriguingly
bakes his loaves of bread into the shape of animals, served as herald and sacrificed a boar to the
Goddess Demeter, hoping she would bless the day and allow for the rebuild and healing of Athens
to decisively begin. However, it seems Demeter was not immediately impressed with the offering, as
shortly thereafter a rain quall blew in from the Saronic Gulf and brought upon a deluge that
dismayed hundreds of Athenians attending the Assembly and innervated their sense to flee the
area. Those resilient enough to stay, including Aristarchus, an Oligarch who presided over the
assembly that day, understood the results of that day s debate, which would... Show more content on

A last second proposition by the Solonian Aristocrat Miltiades to publically fund the arts and

On the fourth day at the Pnyx, the trial initiated by Theozitides was held. Simon the cobbler
provided the pig sacrifice to the goddess Athena and the Assembly, led this day by Thrasybulus, set
out to determine the fate of Socrates. Lycon, Anytus, and Meletus formed the prosecution, accusing
Socrates of being aligned with the Thirty, profaning the Gods, and corrupting the youth to Athenian
way of life. They deemed Socrates crimes of corruption and impiety did not merit the death penalty,
but were serious enough to merit exile.
Socrates defendants included his disciples Crito and Xenophon. Both rebuked the claim that
Socrates was guilty of corruption and impiety, claiming their teacher was merely a thinker who

A Comparison of Three Advertisements Essay
A Comparison of Three Advertisements The word Media is a term for information or messages
conveyed by diferent channels (means) to an audience. Examples of media types are music, news,
radio etc. A symbol is a picture of something eg: a cross. A denotation is what you actuallly see. A
connotation however is the hidden meaning or sub text of a symbol. The anchor ties the picture
down, comfirms the message or adds to the idea of something. A stereotype suggests a typical
image of people that the audience recognises. Soft focus might imply romance, olden days and
femininity. I will be analysing three adverts.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The second jeep advert also has an area which is in focus and a area which is blurred. This time
the background is blurred and the car is in focus. The jeep is head on to the camera and this

because of the water splashing everywhere and the detailed droplets in the air.
Adverts lay things out well. They use specail techniques to catch our eye and to make us read the
adverts. On the first advert they use the effect of 3 new cars on a white background. There is a

Healthcare Privacy And Security Laws
HEALTHCARE PRIVACY SECURITY LAWS IN USA, EUROPEAN UNION, INDIA
E HEALTH TERM PROJECT
BY
SUSHMITHA SAI KARI
VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY
OVERVIEW:
Protecting data in the healthcare is extremely important as it contains valuable information about
the patient like personally identified health information. The information is vital, as it exhibits a
strong relationship between doctor and patient for dealing with any issues the patient might have. It
provides, absolute care, and gives better information to a patient or physician required for the
course of actions. The consequences that could take place with this information can be data
breaches, such as unauthorized access to the information or data in health records, and can result in
atypical activities. To avoid this, the data or the information in the Electronic Medical Records must
be provided with strong privacy and security laws. International law provides Privacy and Security
regulations to protect the data of health care organizations. Despite the laws implemented there are
certain data breaches taking place in day to day life, which is growing. This paper reviews the
privacy and security laws that are implemented and followed in the USA, India, and the European
Union and in particular regional laws/ regulations and the differences between them. There are
certain reporting obligations and penalties that must be obeyed in case of violation of these laws
/ regulations which will discuss here. This paper also

Analysis Of A Doll s House
A Doll s House is a famous three act play based in the mid/late 1800s. Written by author Henrik
Ibsen, the play focused on the changing times for women of Norway (Ibsen, H, 1992).
Throughout the play the typical early 1800s Norwegian family is described one where the
husband is dominant in all aspects, and the wife merely follows his requests and tends to the
children (M., M., M., A., n.d.). From the beginning of the play to the end, main character Nora
gradually hints toward being so unhappy with her situation that she would eventually go against
social norms and leave her husband and children to make a life for herself (Ibsen, H, 1992). A
Doll s House incorporated several new concepts for that time period such as prose and realism
all while employing the themes and structures of a classical tragedy. A Doll s House is so
unique because it was one of the first plays to be written in prose. Merriam Webster s definition
of prose is, a literary medium distinguished from poetry especially by its greater irregularity and
variety of rhythm and its closer correspondence to the patterns of everyday speech (Prose., n.d.).
Similarly, prose is simply everyday talk. Most plays were not written in this relatable way that
we are used to now. For example, in that time it was uncommon for a play to have phrases like, I
am in a silly mood today, as Nora stated (Ibsen, H, 1992). A Doll s House s English was more
dumbed down than other plays in that time period, which were all

Why Millionaires Do Not Pay Federal Taxes
Additionally, with the rich paying so little in taxes, most don t even pay their taxes! About 46
percent of all tax filers (individuals or households) pay no federal income taxes each year because
of various exclusions. More than half of the tax revenue lost to the most common tax exclusions
stays in the pockets of the richest one fifth of Americans, according to an analysis by the
Congressional Budget Office. By contrast, high earners who paid no taxwere primarily able to do
so because of a wide array of other special provisions in tax law. Roughly 1,000 of the 4,000
millionaire non payers in 2011 did so because their income that year was locked away in individual
retirement accounts not subject to federal taxes, according to Roberton Williams of the Urban

Mass Media Communication
Definition
Mass media is a media intended for a large audience. It may take the form of broadcast media, as
in the case of television and radio, or print media, like newspapers and magazines. Internet media
can also attain mass media status, and many media outlets maintain a web presence to take
advantage of the ready availability of Internet in many regions of the world. Some people also
refer to it as the mainstream media, referencing the fact that it tends to stick to prominent stories
which will be of interest to a general audience, sometimes ignoring controversial breaking news.

Negative effects of Mass Media for teenagers, The exposure of sex images and excessive
portraits of violence in movies and dramas have instilled negative thoughts and taboos in the
mind of these teenagers for they have been consistently getting increased exposure to things
which are not suitable for their age. Thousands of advertisements on junk food, fast food, soft

next generations for being unhealthy and being exposed to many serious diseases and sicknesses
such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problem and anorexia.
Women are obsessive with losing weight even if they are not being fat or obese. This is due to the
influence of the media in portraying that successful women are always thin. Many teenagers,
especially girls were greatly influenced with the slim figure of their favorite celebrity. As a results,
some of these teenage fans were so deep into the dieting and slimming concerns which lead them to

Beauty from Within and Without What is art? Some people may say it is creativity that comes

life itself. The Dali Museum in St. Pete, Florida, holds numerous art pieces displaying his great

Another reason as to why the ancient games are regarded highly is because Persian king Xerxes,
on hearing that Olympia awarded only wreath prizes, marveled that Greeks competed not for
material reward, but only for honor (Kyle 34). The games were often associated with physical
effort, fair competition..., and sacred truce (Callebat 556). The ancient games were meant to
create a sense of peace for festivities dedicated to their gods. To do something underhanded was
not justifiable. Ancient Greece was not a unified state at the time of its birth up until the
Macedonia king, Philip the II, conquered it. It was originally split up into many city states, such
as Sparta and Athens, which would fight amongst each other. At one point, the ancient games
existed but it eventually went away due to all the conflict. However, according to Pausanias, a
Greek traveler and geographer, the ancient games were brought back because Greece was
grievously worn [down from the] internal strife and plague ( DESCRIPTION OF GREECE ).
This is further supported by another Greek lyric poet, Pindar, who wrote under the power of noble
joys, malignant pain is subdued and dies, whenever god sent Fate lifts prosperity on high ( Pindar
). Noble joys could be interpreted as the festivities and the games while the malignant pain could

The Nativity Story And The Gospel Of Matthew
The film The Nativity Story shares many similarities with the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was
writing for the Jews, so his Gospel focuses primarily on Jesus being the messiah because he
fulfills the prophecies. His Gospel also focuses on the paternal side of Jesus s birth, since Joseph
being from the line of David connects Jesusto the Old Testament Covenant with David. In the film,
Joseph s perception of the events at had is often portrayed. Showing the story through his eyes. We
also get insight into is his thoughts on occasions, which furthers the films parallels to the Gospel of
Matthew. Within Matthew s Gospel, there are five key details used to connect the birth of Jesus to
the Old Testament prophecies, all of which appear in the film.
First, the film begins and ends with the massacre of innocents, the first key detail. This slaughter
of innocents was ordered by Herod as a way of preserving his throne. He was worried that the
king of kings was coming to end him, and he wanted to ensure that his throne was safe. He is the
second detail. This slaughter of innocents is what caused Joseph to take Mary and Jesus and flee
to Egypt, the third key detail. Just like in the Bible, God spoke to Joseph in a dream, telling him to
take his family and flee to Egypt, only returning when he was instructed. Had Joseph not done this,
Jesus may not have survived to save us from our sins. Next in the film comes the wise men, the
fourth detail. These wisemen come from the east, showing the

shows that primates can communicate with humans and can learn from them since they can
understand humans. The weakness of this reason is that any animal can understand humans and
some animals can speak languages, closer than what primates can do. There were three monkeys in

Cognate Strategies Essay
Cognate strategies are ways that writing can help the audience understand what the information is
and how to gain best the information required to understand it best. In this writing assignment, I
will be describing five strategies that are a part of the cognate strategies way of thinking. I will be
using personal examples for each of these to help give a clearexplanation of the information
The first of these is the also the first showcased in the book, Clarity. This strategy is based on a
need to explain clearly what the speech or article is about. This is used to cut through the
Jargons and clichГ©s that often plaque or work lives and explain the information cleanly. Using
Clarity, all involved can understand what is needed to be done without a communication barrier.
My example for this was when I turned my two week notice in for my first job. I wrote down
exactly why I was leaving and ways that the store could improve in some areas to avoid others
leaving.
Conciseness is the next of the strategies and one that I have spent a lot of time using myself. The
main point of being conscious is to have key points when being any speech or writing for business.
This can often be found in the opening of the article or speech to showcase what the key parts of ...

Gerber s Servant Leadership
Although Gerber (2007) provided several leadership themes throughout the book such as
Servant Leadership by Greenleaf (1977), The Leadership Challenge by Kouzes and Posner
(1995), and Motivation and Personality by Maslow (1954) she could have provided an even
stronger argument by referring to Goleman s (1995) book on Emotional Intelligence. Early on in
ER s marriage to FDR she was faced with the realization that her social secretary, a young
beautiful woman of twenty one was having an affair with her husband. FDR then in the role of
assistant secretary of the Navy (p.67) was neither discreet nor restrained about romancing his
mistress in public (Gerber, 2007). ER could have easily reacted to this situation with anger,
frustration, and contempt, instead she focused on her own growth (p. 71). Goleman termed this
type of inner healing as optimism or hope which has healing power (p.177).... Show more content

Instead of measuring ones IQ (conventional intelligence) Goleman s theory required
administrators to look at the leader s EQ (emotional intelligence) which measures behavioral and
character elements of intelligence. ER believed that by turning her sorrow into strength and
practicing EQ she could handle the low points or dark hours of her life. As Gerber (2007) wrote
Like Eleanor, you should work toward self mastery the ability to take control on your own terms
for the purpose of healing and helping yourself (p. 72). In Dubrin s 2010 book on leadership he

Bandura and Skinner
A Comparison and Contrast of Learning Theories: Albert Bandura and B.F. Skinner Introduction
Two prominent researchers, B.F. Skinner and Albert Bandura, have developed theories which
provide differing perspectives and explanations regarding the learning behavior of individuals. The
purpose of this writing is to explore the theoretical perspectives of Operant Conditioning Theory
developed by B.F. Skinner and Social Learning Theory developed by Albert Bandura. An overview
of both theories is presented, followed by a discussion of their similarities and differences. Methods

He also recognizes that character traits within a person can influence behavior, but does not believe
traits alone can explain behavior and learning. Instead, Bandura expanded upon these theories and
developed the concept of reciprocal determinism, which posits that the person, their environment,
and behavior all influence one another. Bandura argued that personal factors affect behavior,
which alters the environment, and that environment is not only a cause of behavior, but also an
effect of behavior, and these all operate as interlocking determinants of each other (Bandura, 1978,
p. 346). Therefore, if we are going to attempt to understand human behavior, all of these factors
and their mutual influences must be recognized. (Cloninger, 2007, p.353). Self Regulation.
Bandura s theory is essentially an agentic perspective, which views people as self organizing,
proactive, and self regulating, as opposed to being reactive organisms shaped solely by
environmental forces. His theory posits that human beings have a considerable amount of control
over their own behavior, though they may exhibit variations on how effectively they exert it.
Bandura believed that individuals can be, essentially, self directed, at least to the extent that they
are able to make goals and then track and evaluate their own progress.

The Importance Of The Number Of Physical Therapy Sessions...
Background and Purpose: SLAP is a superior labrum tear in an anterior to posterior direction of
the shoulder, affecting more than 4000 people in a year. Usually men between the ages of 20 30
and 40 50. The purpose of this case report is to show the relevance of the number of physical
therapy sessions after a SLAP surgeryrepair.
Case Description: The patient was a 41 year old male kinesiology professor physically active in
volleyball, weight training, and cross fit. The patient was diagnosed with a SLAP type II tear and
micro fracture visible on an MRI with arthrogram. Outcome measures employed were the
QuickDASH for functional disability symptoms and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) to report the
level of pain. Some of the interventions used in this case were grade I/II manipulations, pendulum,
cryotherapy, stretching and strengthening exercises, PNF exercises, and closed kinetic chain
activities.
Outcomes: After 27 physical therapy visits post surgeries in a period of 6 months the patient
reported no perceived work disability after 52 weeks. Nonetheless, some functional disability was
experienced when it came to general activities and sports between 4 to 13 percent based on the
QuickDASH. Pain levels reported by the VAS remained considerable low. The subject reported the
pain level between 0 4 on a 10 scale; pain decreased to zero by week 10.
Discussion: Decreasing the number of therapy visits and increasing the interval of time off between
them, patients might be

This was incredibly strategic for him to try and earn the women s vote and also would have been
a step forward for women in achieving equality in the political sphere and give them more of a

and were barred from working certain jobs(Kean,2007). Even when women went out and worked

and raise the children. During both world wars, women had to step up and take over jobs in all
occupations because the majority of the Australian men were away fighting in the wars(Gruen and

He faces many different conflicts of man verses man, and man verses nature.
The traveler is advised not to make this trip with the lack of his inexperience in the Yukondue to the

The traveler is keen enough to pick up on the timber jams in the river. He shows that he does
have skills even though he is inexperienced in the Yukon, and that he is well focused on his
objective to travel the Yukon to see his friends. He was keenly observant, and he noticed the
changes in the creek, the curves, and bends and the timber jam, and always he sharply noted where
he placed his feet (563). Also, he picks up on other hot springs and things within the terrain from
being observant and careful.
The traveler starts to show just how inexperienced he is and how he really lacks the street smarts
in the Yukon, when he builds the fire underneath a spruce tree along the edge of the tree line. He
had to build the fire because the cold was getting to him and he needed to warm up after falling
through the ice. HE was not smart, instead of putting the fire out in the open or further out
without anything to come down on it to put it out, it was a lack of common sense. It was as
though he had just heard his own sentence of death. For a moment he sat and stared at the spot
where the fire had been. Then he grew very calm (565). He then tries to move the fire out into the
open, but knows that the kindling is saturated with water from the snow falling on the fire, it
became useless. He now realizes he is in trouble. Well, it was up to him to

The Use of Narratives to Express the Religious Beliefs of People in Western Religions
For the layman, familiarity with the major religions stems from the stories that are associated with
them. Using the narratives that are derived from the sacred texts is the most prominent way in
which our society identifies the Western religions. The Jewish tradition is best correlated to stories
like the Exodus and the parting of the Red Seas, for example, as are the many tales of the miracles
of Jesus connected to Christianity. This essay will present narratives as an easy method of
providing the basic groundwork for the Western religious traditionsof Judaism, Christianity, and
Islam because of their simplicity and easily transmittable nature. ... Show more content on

Therefore, the holy day of Sabbath is it is known for Jews and Christians, is absent in Islam. God
was not weary from the act of creation, and oversaw all that he had created, rather. This could be
seen as part of the belief in Islam that the Koran is a correction to the previous religions of Judaism
and Christianity, and that the holy scriptures were somehow corrupted in their present form.
In the Western tradition, primarily in the United States where Christianity prevails, the story of
creation from Genesis is held in high regard, and controversies have erupted disputing whether or
not its fundamentals should be taught in school. The founding of this nation through the
Constitution was erected with the belief of separation of church and state. In the conservative
1920s, a huge court case erupted from the dispute between the Christian creationism and the
scientific founding of Charles Darwin s evolution. The Scopes Monkey trial of 1925 saw a
schoolteacher found guilty of teaching evolution in the classroom, a theory that flabbergasted
fundamentalist Christians who perceived it ludicrous that humans could have descended from
monkeys. The narrative tradition of the Genesis creation was evidently a central issue for
Americans and typified the Christian identity in the U.S. at a time when modernism was emerging,
as the fourteen states had anti Evolution statutes.

The emancipation of slave trade in Britain
Introduction
Within two decades, Britain had made decisive actions to abolish the transatlantic slave trade, and
this made the emancipation of trade emerge as one of the most significant reform movements that
took place in the 18th and 19th centuries. In July 1833, the British parliament abolished slave
buying and selling through the passing of a Bill in the House of Commons and then in the House
of Lords which abolished slave trade all through the British Empire. How this came into place has
been largely debated and yet slave trade provided the British nation with money, employment, and
luxurious commodities enriching the country. Interpretations of the British slave trade tends to be
explained by the humanitarian or moral movements where emancipation campaigns were made by
religious groups (Porter, 43). Another famous interpretation and which makes the focus of this
paper is that emancipation of the slave trade was due to changes in economic interests. This paper
argues that the emancipation of slave trade in British land and also on the colonial territories
coincided with the periods of economic decline in the British Caribbean, and so emancipationist
ideas came due to the growth of free labor ideologies and the factory system.
The paper is going to argue this is basing on three texts; one is The Emancipation of Slavery: The

Gay cites Bill Cosby and Don Lemon to illustrate this problem. Bill Cosby had long been
respected and often seen as a father figure too, in the black community. At a 2004 NAACP
ceremony, Cosby made a similar speech to his op ed for the New York Post, admonishing the
working class black community and essentially blaming them for their financial dilemmas,
dubbed as the Pound Cake Speech . Don Lemon is the second special case cited; Lemon attempts
to shame black men for sagging their pants by making a farfetched claim that the act is linked to
prison homosexual intercourse. Lemon is a gay black man but still, through his views, shows that
he sees the white heterosexual male as the cultural ideal. The rest of Lemon s comments reiterate
the same dialogue of respectability politics Cosby used, that if black people worked harder and

such as Postal Code, or City separately from the other Location information (Street Address etc)
then there is no need to subdivide it into its component attributes, and the whole Location can be
designated as a simple attribute.
в–Є What are examples of other composite attributes?
Single Valued vs. Multi valued Attributes
в–Є Most attributes have a single value for each entity, such as a car only has one model, a student
has only one ID number, an employee has only one data of birth. These attributes are called single
valued attributes. в–Є Sometimes an attribute can have multiple values for a single entity, for
example, a doctor may have more than one specialty (or may have only one specialty), a customer
may have more than one mobile phone number, or they may not have one at all. These attributes are
called multi valued attributes. в–Є Multi valued attributes may have a lower and upper bounds to
constrain the number of values allowed. For example, a doctor must have at least one specialty, but
no more than 3 specialties.
Stored vs. Derived Attributes
в–Є If an attribute can be calculated using the value of another attribute, they are called derived
attributes. в–Є The attribute that is used to derive the attribute is called a stored attribute. в–Є

Scott Fitzgerald s Accomplishments
Francis Scott Fitzgerald is one of the greatest American authors, whose works belong to the
Modernism period. His works are traced back in the early 20s and this period of time was
considered of big influence. At this time, America was going through many changes between the
two world wars. The country experienced a period of low economic growth, deep depression,
the rise of crime and bootlegging. Terms invented at that time such as The Jazz Age and The
Roaring Twenties suggest pleasure, dancing, and drinking, which were done by middle and upper
classes of the population. Directly or indirectly, a work of literature is indicated by the culture in
which it is produced, and a very good example of this is the novel The Great Gatsby , which... Show

Bloom (2010) in his critical interpretation noted that The book has become part of what must be
called that American mythology, just as Fitzgerald himself now possesses mythological status,
like Hemingway, or, in a different sense, Norman Mailer (p.1). For many decades now, it is still
read and appreciated by people, and it can be a result of the circumstances in which the world is
today. The novel was translated in many languages by different authors such as in French
(Philippe Jaworski), Italian (Ferruccio Russo), German (Walter Schurenberg) and in Albanian
(Muntaz Shehu). Furthermore, there exist cinematographic productions of the novel, too. The
movie was recorded several times, and its first time was in 1926, whereas the last version was
done in 2013 under the direction of Baz Luhrmann, the well known Australian writer, director, and

The increasing numbers of sub model cars can also affect the brand quality through increasing any
risk issues once launched to the public. Furthermore, according to (Stephen, 2004) Mercedes
customers have high expectations about the high quality promised by the company. In 2003, the
company disappointed many customers when they sold over 2000 vehicles with an extra option for
a navigation system, which were not ready to be delivered at the right time, also accompanied by
other mechanical issues. On the other hand, the company made an announcement about its new
high quality hydraulic breaking system, which increased its competitiveness in terms of safety and
quality against other competitors in the industry.
Our company should make sure that manufacturers deliver products with the highest design
specification, in order to be order winner quality conformance, by delivering products with no
defects (Hill and Hill, 2012). Furthermore, improvements in quality lead to a decrease in cost for
the company. According to (Evans, 1997) higher quality products lead to a decrease in costs for
the company through higher productivity: improvements in quality leads to lower cost because of
less re work, fewer mistakes, fewer delays and snags (Evans 1997, P.55).
Speed According to (Hill and Hill, 2012), synchronising all supply chain activities through using the
same data, and completing production at the scheduled time, coordinated between the manufacturer

Jim Carrey Impact On Depression
Comedians are not always the funny personality on stage or on screen. Such a case can be
observed with comedian and actor Jim Carrey. As well as many other comedians Jim Carrey
struggled with depression. According to a 2004 interview with CBS, Jim Carrey s parents
struggled with financial problems and the problems made him dislike human interaction at a young
age (2004). It was during this time Jim Carreyfelt angry with the world for making him live in
poverty. However, he told CBS that he developed his sense of humor by trying to make his
mother laugh when she was very sick (2004). When he eventually came to rise to fame, when
money was no longer an issue his mental health became one. Jim Carrey would use various ways to
cope with his depression and keep up with his mental health.
Jim Carrey s first occurrence of depression was his childhood. Based on what is known about his
life and the patterns of depression can be speculated. During his adolescence, he discussed the
troubles he faced alongside his parents about a life in poverty. Early signs of depression may have
been present during his childhood and left untreated. An article from the National Institute of
Health claims that depression during a person s childhood can lead to other mental disorders going
into adulthood (2012). That led to his depression in adulthood that made him grow a dependency on
Prozac.
The impact of Jim Carrey s depression can rarely be seen. Jim Carrey is often reclusive and has not

Assume that you are preparing a report on MM207 statistics students at Kaplan University to
present to the Kaplan Board of Trustees. Prepare an appropriate graphical representation for each of
the following variables.
a) The different majors of students taking MM207.
b) The number of hours spent on school work by students in MM207.
9. Using the range rule of thumb estimate the standard deviation for the number of credit hours
students in this sample are taking and the shoe sizes of the females in the class. Then using
StatCrunch compute the actual standard deviation. Compare the results.
a) Does the range rule of thumb overestimate or underestimate the standard deviation for number of
credit hours?
The range rule of thumb over estimates the standard deviation for credit hours. The estimates
deviation is 3.75 while the actual is 2.56
b) Does the range rule of thumb overestimate or underestimate the standard deviation for shoe sizes
of females?
The range rule of thumb overestimates again this time only by a little, with the estimate at 1.75 and
the actual at 1.29.
c) How does the shape of the distribution impact what you conclude?
The shape of both data sets fall within the rule of thumb estimate and that actual standard deviation.
There is a much high range for both and that is because there are several data samples that fall
outside of the standard deviation.

The AFL-NFL Merger
There were many events that happened in the year 1966. One of them was Ronald Reagan was
elected governor of California. Even the first Batman movie was released in 1966 who was started
by Adam West. In the sports world, there was one event that would change the sport of football
forever. On the evening of June 8, 1966, the two major professional American footballleagues at
that time were the National Football League(NFL) and the American Football League (AFL)
would merge into one league. The league was to be called the National Football League with the

Salary Caps In Professional Sports
Salary caps are a very important tool used in professional sports. All 4 major professional sports
leagues in the United States have a salary cap installed into their collective bargaining agreement
between the league and its players. Those four major sports are, the NFL, the NBA, the MLB and
the NHL. A salary capis defined as s an agreement or rule that places a limit on the amount of
money that a team can spend on players salaries. It can be as a per player limit or a total limit for
the team s roster. It is basically put in place to help the small market teams stay competitive. It is
meant so the wealthy teams, also called big market teams, does not always stay dominant by
signing the best players to very big contracts. Salary caps are... Show more content on

exception, early bird exception, non bird exception. The Larry Bird exception allows teams to
exceed the cap in order to re sign their own free agents, up to the player s maximum salary. To be
able to use this exception a player must play for three seasons without clearing waivers or changing
teams as a free agent. The early bird exception is similar to the Larry Bird one. This one allows
teams to exceed the cap to re sign their own free agents, but with more limited contracts than the
Larry Bird exception. To qualify for this exception the player must play for two seasons without

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Photodegradation
The applications of homogeneous photodegradation (single phase system) to treat contaminated
water, involves the use of an oxidant to generate radicals, which attack the organic pollutants to
initiate oxidation. The major oxidants used are:
пЂ Hydrogen peroxide (UV /H2O2)
пЂ Ozone (UV /O3)
пЂ Hydrogen peroxide and Ozone (UV /O3/H2O2)
пЂ Photo Fenton system (Fe+3 /H2O2)
1.2.1.4. Hydrogen peroxide
The use of hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant brings a number of advantages in comparison to other
methods of wastewater treatment. Commercial availability of the oxidant, thermal stability and
storage on site, infinite solubility in water, no mass transfer associated with gases. The most
accepted mechanism for this H2O2 photolysis is the rupture of the O O bond by the action of
ultraviolet light forming two hydroxyl radicals.
H2O2 + hП… п‚®пЂ 2 OHО‡ (Eq.1.7)
A disadvantage of this process is that it cannot utilize solar light as the source of UV light due to
the fact that the required UV energy for the photolysis of the oxidizer is not available in the solar ...

In the contexts of history and research, interest in heterogeneous photocatalysis can be traced back
to many decades when Fujishima and Honda discovered in 1972 the photochemical splitting of
water into hydrogen and oxygen in the presence of TiO2 From this time, extensive research, much
of it published, has been carried out to produce hydrogen from water in oxidation reduction
reactions using a variety of semiconductor catalyst materials. With respect to a semiconductor oxide
such asWO3, photocatalytic reactions are initiated by the absorption of illumination with energy
equal to or greater than the band gap of the semiconductor. This produces electron hole (eв€’/h+)

Reflection Paper In Counselling
Reflection Paper Throughout the 5 days practice of active listening and basic attending skills in
daily conversations, I found it easiest to. On the contrary, the most difficult experience was
practicing empathy which is one of the most essential skills in building rapport and trust with
others. Despite having the ability to show empathic rapport, in which I am able to accurately sense
and understand others feelings by perceiving the situation through their eyes and perspectives, I
struggled in the other component of empathy, which is communicative attunement. I had
difficulties verbally responding to the information about their concerns and feelings. For instance, I
had difficulty reflecting their emotions with appropriate terms. This could be due to my
upbringing where my family rarely express our emotions in conversations; we are more inclined to
express it through actions. Hence, I have difficulties coming up with words to accurately capture
the feelings and then verbally expressing it as a reflection of the... Show more content on

Type Of Agonist Essay
Types of agonists
Receptors can be activated by either endogenous (such as hormones and neurotransmitters) or
exogenous (such as drugs) agonists, resulting in a biological response. A physiological agonist is a
substance that creates the same bodily responses but does not bind to the same receptor.
An endogenous agonist for a particular receptor is a compound naturally produced by the body that
binds to and activates that receptor. For example, the endogenous agonist for serotonin receptors is
serotonin, and the endogenous agonist for dopamine receptors is dopamine.[1]
A superagonist is a compound that is capable of producing a greater maximal response than the
endogenous agonist for the target receptor, and thus has an efficacy of more than 100%. This does
not necessarily mean ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Inverse agonists exert the opposite pharmacological effect of a receptor agonist, not merely an
absence of the agonist effect as seen with antagonist. An example is the cannabinoid inverse agonist
rimonabant.
A co agonist works with other co agonists to produce the desired effect together. NMDA receptor
activation requires the binding of both glutamate, glycine and D serine co agonists.
An irreversible agonist is a type of agonist that binds permanently to a receptor through the
formation of covalent bonds. A few of these have been described.[2][3]
A selective agonist is selective for a specific type of receptor. E.g. buspirone is a selective agonist
for serotonin 5 HT1A.
New findings that broaden the conventional definition of pharmacology demonstrate that ligands
can concurrently behave as agonist and antagonists at the same receptor, depending on effector
pathways or tissue type. Terms that describe this phenomenon are functional selectivity , protean
agonism ,[4][5] or selective receptor modulators.[6]

A Brief Note On The Diesel Engine Exhaust Gas Emissions...
ABSTRACT
Diesel engine exhaust gas emissions and particulate matters have been a serious environmental
problem for a long time. Many research have been made in order to reduce these emissions since
the usage of diesel engines came into large. Major emissions from the diesel exhaust are NOx,
SOx, CO and Particulate Matters. Amongst these SOx, CO and Particulate matters can be reduced
by using after treatment methods like Catalytic Reduction, etc. Unlike these NOx reduction is a
challenging issue. In this project various types of technologies which are used till now to reduce
NOx В¬has been discussed and the advantages and dis advantages of each technology is

INTRODUCTION
Usage of diesel engine in automobiles is increasing worldwide because of its high fuel efficiency. As
the usage increases, the emissions from the exhaust gases also increases which affects the
atmosphere, thereby causing environmental issues such as global warming, smog and even acid
rain. These emissions are mainly due to non stoichiometric combustion, dissociation of Nitrogen
and impurities in the fuel and air mixture. Major emissions include Oxides of Nitrogen, Oxides of
Sulphur, unburnt Hydrocarbons, oxides of carbon and other carbon particles or soot. Significant
measures are taken by the automotive industries for several years to reduces the intensity of these
exhaust gases. There are two ways of reducing these exhaust gases are

The Process Of Learning For Read Can Be Difficult For...
The process of learning to read can be difficult for young children. Teachers require knowledge and
understanding of the reading process as well as skills to teach children skills and strategies to
become a successful reader. Using a balanced approach to teaching children reading skills and
strategies, teachers start with explicit instruction before gradually giving students responsibility and
independence in using these strategies for reading. Teachers must understand the importance of oral
language, vocabulary, concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics and comprehension within
the reading process to ensure that children are well equipped with these elements prior to learning
to read. Knowledge and understanding of these concepts give teachers the skills to teach children to
read.
One of the most language rich experiences young children have is through play. When children
play they are exploring their environment, using their imagination or imitating scenarios they may
have seen in playing shop, schools or mums and dads. These experiences provide children with
engaging opportunities for literacy development when exposed to language experiences that allow
them to learn new words, talk about what they can see with peers and adults, tell stories and ask
questions. Konza (2011), states early oral language and literacy experiences help them tune into the
sounds of their language and prepare them for learning to read. (p. 2) Play encourages children to

What Best Buy s Minneapolis Headquarters During Their...
Key Issues:
This week s case analysis captures the Best Buy s Minneapolis headquarters during their
transition towards the Results Only Work Environment program (ROWE). This anecdote spans
from a period of over 6 years (2003 2009), and in relation to our reading this week, exemplifies a
company in the midst of a culture change. During the initial phase, the ROWE program was
isolated from retail stores and exclusively offered to only the 4,000 headquarter employees (75%
enrolled at the time of the case). The story of ROWE within the Best Buy organization has spawned
favorable statistics within the company (e.g., productivity increases of 35 percent within 9 months,
voluntary turnover drops of 52 90 percent, and overall increase in employee morale for departments
within the program). Despite the warranted success of the program, the Best Buy enterprise
continues to face some resistance and difficulties with extending the program beyond headquarters.
Nevertheless, the key issues to be discussed are as follows:
In regards to chapter 16, the process of organizational socialization starts at the selection process.
Best Buy has stymied organizational culture shift by allowing the transition to be at the discretion
of the department managers.
Managers have displayed a dominant resistant to change. Therefore, how does leadership mold
attitudes of managers to accommodate/facilitate a holistic cultural change?
The feasibility of transferring the ROWE program to the retail

The History of Band Aid
BRAND:
HISTORY:
The Band Aid was invented in 1920 by Earle Dickson, an employee of Johnson amp; Johnson, for
his wife Josephine Dickson, who frequently cut and burned herself while cooking. The prototype
product allowed his wife to dress her wounds without assistance. Dickson, a Highland Park, New
Jersey resident at the time, passed the idea on to his employer who then went on to produce and
market the product as the Band Aid. Dickson had a successful career at Johnson amp; Johnson,
eventually becoming a Vice President at the company before his retirement in 1957.

Virender Sehwag, chosen as Band Aid s brand ambassador, symbolised the very essence of what
the product stood for: solid, gritty and with a never say die attitude under any circumstance. This
tie up kicked off a series of contests and promotions that included a special edition pack featuring
the explosive cricketer.
Over the years, the challenge for communication has been to shift from passive protection to active
healing. Band Aid needed to signal efficacy, demonstrate its medicinal side and shift its discourse
without losing its core values. Kids have the innate desire to be active and Band Aid makes sure
that cuts and bruises will not hinder that desire
The Band Aid Goldfish campaign, launched in 2000, was a real clutter breaking advertisement,
which elevated the awareness of wash proof to new heights. Since early 2003, the brand, with its
new campaign of Continuous Care , has tried to reposition itself among the target audience. The
simple theme is that unlike antiseptic liquids and creams, which wear off after the initial effect,
Band Aid works on the wound non stop. Therefore, the core value of the brand ceaseless
supervision is emphatically stated in the baseline Iska asar lagatar . The Kids Snapshot film is
based on this thought.

Witness Can Cause Errors
The second study evaluated how the emotions of a witness can cause errors in the retelling of their
story when there were no suggestions made. The participants in the study watched a violent video
clip, then they were split into three groups. These groups consisted of an emotional aspect, factual
and the controlled group. In the emotional group the individuals were instructed to talk about how
the video made them feel when they were retelling the story. In the factual group they were told to

Suggestions lead to misinformation, which leads to wrongful convictions. Paz Alonso and
Goodman (2008) stated that in the Moscow terrorist bombings, researchers talked to witnesses
after the attack and indicated that others saw wounded animals in the attack. About 13% of the
participants accepted the information as true. The acceptance of false information can be
effected by the time difference of the event and the misinformation (Paz Alonso and Goodman,
2008, p. 59 62). There is not a basic science to how we recall things or how memories can be
manipulated by suggestions. Knowing that suggestions could change the way a witness
remembers something, could mean that police officers need to change the way they ask a person
what they saw and not to make suggestions. The more time that passes from an event, the harder
it can be to remember a situation or get information correctly. Paz Alonso and Goodman (2008)
conducted a study of how time and retention intervals can lead to wrong responses. The
participants in the study showed that just after two weeks the retention of memories had a much
higher rate of misled information. Time can cause a memory to fade or even cause some details
change (p. 59). In California, the time between the day a crime was committed to the trial date can

  • 2. Software Design Of A Computer Based System A key requirement of the software design of a computer based system is to transform basic requirements into an architecture that describes the software s top level structure and identifies its components. Accomplishment of this requirement is through architectural design, providing a blueprint for developing the framework of the software (Mattsson, Lundell, Lings, Fitzgerald, 2009). The establishment of the framework involves examining the software requirements document and designing a model for providing necessary implementation details. The details specify components of the system along with all inputs, outputs, functions, and the interactions between the components. This paper includes a description of the architectural design of a computer based system that has transform characteristics, and includes a data flow diagram with process narrative, and evaluation of the architectural design. Further, an assessment of the structuring requirements associated with software architectureis included. Architectural Design Structure An architectural design performs key functions, and is of crucial importance in software engineering during the phase of software development where the essential requirements of reliability, cost, and performance are determined. Architectural design provides the definition of the abstraction level at which the software design specifies both the functional and performance behaviors of the system, and the guidelines for enhancing the system by ... Her duties included: cleaning twelve rooms a day, doing some laundry, and cleaning the hallways as well. Due to the economic crisis of 2009, Saratoga Hostel hired a new business consultant to find ways to reduce costs and personnel. The housekeeping department let go 3 of their 10 employees. The manager then decided to train all employees to clean 14 rooms per day instead of 12. When the training was over, 3 employees could not handle the pressure of the new routine, Avila was of them. • 4. Explain What Autonomy Is In Respect To Human Dignity 1.Explain what autonomy is in respect to human dignity. Autonomy in respect to human dignity is the right to self determination and it was used to be in medicine to document all the decisions for the patients but that is not the case anymore. The patients now have the right to make choices based on their own beliefs, their own values, and their own needs. As a respiratory therapist, we have to be careful that we should not try to substitute our religious or cultural beliefs for someone who don t believe in something; we have to remember the patients are in control. For instance, do not resuscitate orders in some culture would be considered unacceptable; therefore, we have to do everything to prevent death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Oligarch s Idea Of Athenian Democracy On the first meeting of the Assembly at the Pnyx, Thearion, the celebrity baker who intriguingly bakes his loaves of bread into the shape of animals, served as herald and sacrificed a boar to the Goddess Demeter, hoping she would bless the day and allow for the rebuild and healing of Athens to decisively begin. However, it seems Demeter was not immediately impressed with the offering, as shortly thereafter a rain quall blew in from the Saronic Gulf and brought upon a deluge that dismayed hundreds of Athenians attending the Assembly and innervated their sense to flee the area. Those resilient enough to stay, including Aristarchus, an Oligarch who presided over the assembly that day, understood the results of that day s debate, which would... Examples of media types are music, news, radio etc. A symbol is a picture of something eg: a cross. A denotation is what you actuallly see. A connotation however is the hidden meaning or sub text of a symbol. The anchor ties the picture down, comfirms the message or adds to the idea of something. • 9. Analysis Of A Doll s House A Doll s House is a famous three act play based in the mid/late 1800s. Written by author Henrik Ibsen, the play focused on the changing times for women of Norway (Ibsen, H, 1992). Throughout the play the typical early 1800s Norwegian family is described one where the husband is dominant in all aspects, and the wife merely follows his requests and tends to the children (M., M., M., A., n.d.). From the beginning of the play to the end, main character Nora gradually hints toward being so unhappy with her situation that she would eventually go against social norms and leave her husband and children to make a life for herself (Ibsen, H, 1992). A Doll s House incorporated several new concepts for that time period such as prose and realism all while employing the themes and structures of a classical tragedy. A Doll s House is so unique because it was one of the first plays to be written in prose. Merriam Webster s definition of prose is, a literary medium distinguished from poetry especially by its greater irregularity and variety of rhythm and its closer correspondence to the patterns of everyday speech (Prose., n.d.). Similarly, prose is simply everyday talk. Most plays were not written in this relatable way that we are used to now. For example, in that time it was uncommon for a play to have phrases like, I am in a silly mood today, as Nora stated (Ibsen, H, 1992). A Doll s House s English was more dumbed down than other plays in that time period, which were all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another reason as to why the ancient games are regarded highly is because Persian king Xerxes, on hearing that Olympia awarded only wreath prizes, marveled that Greeks competed not for material reward, but only for honor (Kyle 34). The games were often associated with physical effort, fair competition..., and sacred truce (Callebat 556). The ancient games were meant to create a sense of peace for festivities dedicated to their gods. To do something underhanded was not justifiable. Ancient Greece was not a unified state at the time of its birth up until the Macedonia king, Philip the II, conquered it. It was originally split up into many city states, such as Sparta and Athens, which would fight amongst each other. At one point, the ancient games existed but it eventually went away due to all the conflict. However, according to Pausanias, a Greek traveler and geographer, the ancient games were brought back because Greece was grievously worn [down from the] internal strife and plague ( DESCRIPTION OF GREECE ). This is further supported by another Greek lyric poet, Pindar, who wrote under the power of noble joys, malignant pain is subdued and dies, whenever god sent Fate lifts prosperity on high ( Pindar ). • 17. The Nativity Story And The Gospel Of Matthew The film The Nativity Story shares many similarities with the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was writing for the Jews, so his Gospel focuses primarily on Jesus being the messiah because he fulfills the prophecies. His Gospel also focuses on the paternal side of Jesus s birth, since Joseph being from the line of David connects Jesusto the Old Testament Covenant with David. In the film, Joseph s perception of the events at had is often portrayed. Showing the story through his eyes. We also get insight into is his thoughts on occasions, which furthers the films parallels to the Gospel of Matthew. Within Matthew s Gospel, there are five key details used to connect the birth of Jesus to the Old Testament prophecies, all of which appear in the film. First, the film begins and ends with the massacre of innocents, the first key detail. This slaughter of innocents was ordered by Herod as a way of preserving his throne. He was worried that the king of kings was coming to end him, and he wanted to ensure that his throne was safe. He is the second detail. This slaughter of innocents is what caused Joseph to take Mary and Jesus and flee to Egypt, the third key detail. Just like in the Bible, God spoke to Joseph in a dream, telling him to take his family and flee to Egypt, only returning when he was instructed. Instead, Bandura expanded upon these theories and developed the concept of reciprocal determinism, which posits that the person, their environment, and behavior all influence one another. Bandura argued that personal factors affect behavior, which alters the environment, and that environment is not only a cause of behavior, but also an effect of behavior, and these all operate as interlocking determinants of each other (Bandura, 1978, p. 346). Therefore, if we are going to attempt to understand human behavior, all of these factors and their mutual influences must be recognized. (Cloninger, 2007, p.353). Self Regulation. Bandura s theory is essentially an agentic perspective, which views people as self organizing, proactive, and self regulating, as opposed to being reactive organisms shaped solely by environmental forces. His theory posits that human beings have a considerable amount of control over their own behavior, though they may exhibit variations on how effectively they exert it. In the Western tradition, primarily in the United States where Christianity prevails, the story of creation from Genesis is held in high regard, and controversies have erupted disputing whether or not its fundamentals should be taught in school. The Emancipation Of Slave Trade Yi Zhong Instructor s Name Course Title June 6 2016 The emancipation of slave trade in Britain Introduction Within two decades, Britain had made decisive actions to abolish the transatlantic slave trade, and this made the emancipation of trade emerge as one of the most significant reform movements that took place in the 18th and 19th centuries. In July 1833, the British parliament abolished slave buying and selling through the passing of a Bill in the House of Commons and then in the House of Lords which abolished slave trade all through the British Empire. How this came into place has been largely debated and yet slave trade provided the British nation with money, employment, and luxurious commodities enriching the country. Interpretations of the British slave trade tends to be explained by the humanitarian or moral movements where emancipation campaigns were made by religious groups (Porter, 43). Another famous interpretation and which makes the focus of this paper is that emancipation of the slave trade was due to changes in economic interests. This paper argues that the emancipation of slave trade in British land and also on the colonial territories coincided with the periods of economic decline in the British Caribbean, and so emancipationist ideas came due to the growth of free labor ideologies and the factory system. Denny sighed and lifted the toy car from behind the stereo. Whoever did this not only got into his apartment they must ve been watching him but they triggered the device just before he got home. • 37. Scott Fitzgerald s Accomplishments Francis Scott Fitzgerald is one of the greatest American authors, whose works belong to the Modernism period. His works are traced back in the early 20s and this period of time was considered of big influence. At this time, America was going through many changes between the two world wars. The country experienced a period of low economic growth, deep depression, the rise of crime and bootlegging. Terms invented at that time such as The Jazz Age and The Roaring Twenties suggest pleasure, dancing, and drinking, which were done by middle and upper classes of the population. Directly or indirectly, a work of literature is indicated by the culture in which it is produced, and a very good example of this is the novel The Great Gatsby , which... Bloom (2010) in his critical interpretation noted that The book has become part of what must be called that American mythology, just as Fitzgerald himself now possesses mythological status, like Hemingway, or, in a different sense, Norman Mailer (p.1). For many decades now, it is still read and appreciated by people, and it can be a result of the circumstances in which the world is today. The novel was translated in many languages by different authors such as in French (Philippe Jaworski), Italian (Ferruccio Russo), German (Walter Schurenberg) and in Albanian (Muntaz Shehu). Furthermore, there exist cinematographic productions of the novel, too. The movie was recorded several times, and its first time was in 1926, whereas the last version was done in 2013 under the direction of Baz Luhrmann, the well known Australian writer, director, and producer. In addition, The Great Gatsby was adapted into ballet, opera and television production (Tate, 2007). The Great Gatsby consists of so many elements that deserve to be elaborated, but I chose to analyze it in the aesthetic aspect, more precisely the theme of American Dream, because according to many readers and critics it is a predominant theme on this novel. The fact that the idea of this big dream is presented through characters in different ways makes it even more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As well as many other comedians Jim Carrey struggled with depression. According to a 2004 interview with CBS, Jim Carrey s parents struggled with financial problems and the problems made him dislike human interaction at a young age (2004). It was during this time Jim Carreyfelt angry with the world for making him live in poverty. However, he told CBS that he developed his sense of humor by trying to make his mother laugh when she was very sick (2004). When he eventually came to rise to fame, when money was no longer an issue his mental health became one. Jim Carrey would use various ways to cope with his depression and keep up with his mental health. Jim Carrey s first occurrence of depression was his childhood. Based on what is known about his life and the patterns of depression can be speculated. During his adolescence, he discussed the troubles he faced alongside his parents about a life in poverty. Early signs of depression may have been present during his childhood and left untreated. An article from the National Institute of Health claims that depression during a person s childhood can lead to other mental disorders going into adulthood (2012). • 47. Type Of Agonist Essay Types of agonists Receptors can be activated by either endogenous (such as hormones and neurotransmitters) or exogenous (such as drugs) agonists, resulting in a biological response. A physiological agonist is a substance that creates the same bodily responses but does not bind to the same receptor. An endogenous agonist for a particular receptor is a compound naturally produced by the body that binds to and activates that receptor. For example, the endogenous agonist for serotonin receptors is serotonin, and the endogenous agonist for dopamine receptors is dopamine.[1] A superagonist is a compound that is capable of producing a greater maximal response than the endogenous agonist for the target receptor, and thus has an efficacy of more than 100%. Inverse agonists exert the opposite pharmacological effect of a receptor agonist, not merely an absence of the agonist effect as seen with antagonist. An example is the cannabinoid inverse agonist rimonabant. A co agonist works with other co agonists to produce the desired effect together. NMDA receptor activation requires the binding of both glutamate, glycine and D serine co agonists. An irreversible agonist is a type of agonist that binds permanently to a receptor through the formation of covalent bonds. A few of these have been described.[2][3] A selective agonist is selective for a specific type of receptor. E.g. buspirone is a selective agonist for serotonin 5 HT1A. New findings that broaden the conventional definition of pharmacology demonstrate that ligands can concurrently behave as agonist and antagonists at the same receptor, depending on effector pathways or tissue type. Terms that describe this phenomenon are functional selectivity , protean agonism ,[4][5] or selective receptor modulators.[6] Activity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Teachers require knowledge and understanding of the reading process as well as skills to teach children skills and strategies to become a successful reader. Using a balanced approach to teaching children reading skills and strategies, teachers start with explicit instruction before gradually giving students responsibility and independence in using these strategies for reading. Teachers must understand the importance of oral language, vocabulary, concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics and comprehension within the reading process to ensure that children are well equipped with these elements prior to learning to read. Knowledge and understanding of these concepts give teachers the skills to teach children to read. One of the most language rich experiences young children have is through play. When children play they are exploring their environment, using their imagination or imitating scenarios they may have seen in playing shop, schools or mums and dads. These experiences provide children with engaging opportunities for literacy development when exposed to language experiences that allow them to learn new words, talk about what they can see with peers and adults, tell stories and ask questions. Konza (2011), states early oral language and literacy experiences help them tune into the sounds of their language and prepare them for learning to read. Despite the warranted success of the program, the Best Buy enterprise continues to face some resistance and difficulties with extending the program beyond headquarters. Nevertheless, the key issues to be discussed are as follows: In regards to chapter 16, the process of organizational socialization starts at the selection process. Best Buy has stymied organizational culture shift by allowing the transition to be at the discretion of the department managers. Managers have displayed a dominant resistant to change.
