Valves are the components in a fluid flow or pressure system that regulate
either the flow or the pressure of the fluid. This duty may involve stopping
and starting flow, controlling flow rate, diverting flow, preventing back
flow, controlling pressure, or relieving pressure.
In the hydrocarbon processing and production industry, gas is compressed for transportation to consuming markets and for use in processing operations. This presentation is about the construction and operation of compressors.
In this presentation you will learn about the construction and operation of centrifugal compressors.

Pneumatics – Choose the Best Valve for Optimum PerformanceDesign World
Every application has unique requirements and functionality. Choosing the best pneumatic valve for the best performance requires knowing how to select based on specifications. The specifications are based on many factors from the type of valve design to the flow of the flow of the valve. This webinar covers the basic valve designs and the best applications for their design. You will learn when an air piloted valve is used versus a solenoid piloted valve, the difference between direct acting solenoid valves from indirect acting solenoid valves and when they are best applied in a project and how quality of air, size and speed contribute to the valve selection. What is Cv? How do response times and fill and exhaust help with valve specifications? Lastly, you will learn how to determine valve failure issues. Overall, this webinar provides technical and practical ways to properly specify a valve and how to troubleshoot in the event one should fail. You will learn:

Types of actuation
Sizing/Flow rates (speed)

Plasticization rates can be greatly increased with the use of grooved feed extrusion. Grooved feed extruders can be used in a wide range of extrusion processes for higher output rates. This technology has doubled plasticization rates for some resins and processes as compared to smooth bore extruders.
This paper will compare the performance of three different screw geometries while processing fractional melt HDPE. One of the main methods of evaluation will be the comparison of internal pressure profiles over the entire length of the screw at eleven different locations down the length of the barrel at two L/D apart.
RMD24 | Debunking the non-endemic revenue myth Marvin Vacquier Droop | First ...BBPMedia1
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Air cannon
1. Air Cannon

2. Basics
•Pneumatic means that pressurized gas is used
to affect mechanical motion
•Typically air cannons are used recreationally;
however, more advanced forms of air cannons
and air guns have been used in history in
warfare and pneumatic technology can be used
for hunting as well
3. Operation
• Our project uses air pressure by the release of
compressed air through a valve.
• Typically, the power of the cannon comes from
the pressure of the air supply from either a
compressor, manual pump or bottled gas.
• Air tight construction is vital to the functioning
of an air cannon
• Typically, air pumps into a chamber and once the
appropriate pressure is reached a pressure release
valve is opened allowing the air to flow
4. The X and The Y
The X: Pre-compressed air
Free. Though combustible gases may be used, this is not the
case with out project. The air is entered into the system
through a pump and continues through the valve.
The Y: The projectile; the release of the pressure and
the subsequent direction/speed of the projectile
The release of the valve moves the air through the system
and then the Y value is produced when the projectile is
forced forward through the cannon. The speed and distance
depend upon the level of pressure, A.K.A. the X value.
6. Design Elements &
Predictability
1. Ball valve quickly opens for
reliability and consistency.
2. PVC barrel is allows for
accuracy and constant angle
for projectile, minimizing
variables.
3. Nerf dart modified to better
fit barrel allowing less air to
pass and be wasted.
4. Air tight canister for loading
air charge, little to no loss of
air allows for consistency.
5. Easy to use pump allows for a
consistent volume of air to be
added to the canister with
every full stroke.
