Oh, I could never do that. It would be so hard to give them up! This is something I hear everyday
as I go about my daily life. I am a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind, an organization that
provides fully trained guide dogs to people who are visually impaired at no cost. It is only
through many volunteers that this is possible. And I am one of those volunteers. I volunteer about
a year of my life to train and socialize a young puppy until it is ready to to begin learning tasks
necessary to be an effective guide dog. It is one of the best things I have chosent to do, even though
it is so hard to give them up.
On July 29, 2016 I drove into the parking lot of a hotel. I felt so many emotions as we pulled up to

The disease that I chose is Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin s lymphoma (NLPHL), a
type of cancer, but specifically a type of Hodgkin s lymphoma. I have chosen this because a year
ago I was battling it. One day I was a normal teenager and the next, I was getting to know the
Hematology Oncology clinic that I d be spending a numerous amount of days in. Hodgkin s
lymphoma can affect anyone, all the way from a baby to a 114 year old lady. But NLPHL

The chemo regimen ABVD is often used as a treatment for general Hodgkin s lymphoma, so I
had that for four cycles. But for NLPHL, Rituximab, a type of immunotherapy drug is used most
often, I also had this for 6 weeks straight. My doctors talked to doctors out in Texas to see the
correct treatment for NLPHL, since it s a very small portion of Hodgkin lymphoma and not usually
seen in teens, let alone female ones. The downside to treatment is the terrible side effects that most,
but not all people get. For chemo they are, but not limited to, hair loss, mouth sores, nausea,
diarrhea and fatigue. And for Rituximab the side effects can include headache, flu symptoms, joint
and muscle pain, back pain, night sweats and nausea. These side effects are only the short term

Pain is the most predominant symptom experience after an injury and dressing changes only add to
the pain. A method is required to decrease the amount of pain during a dressing change to help
promote wound healing and increase hand function (Guo, Deng, Yang, 2014). Some of the
treatments we use presently in the hospital to decrease pain, such as analgesics, can cause
respiratory depression, decrease bloodpressure and other side effects (Guo et al., 2014, p.116).
Another treatment used is a narcotic dressing which can significantly increase the cost of treatment.
This study looks at the use of a nonpharmacological way of decreasing pain during a dressing

undeveloped Countries. They also may have a large cost that some hospitals may not be able to
afford. This can be another limitation in regards to who is able to access the resource. In the

addicted. This method may help alleviate the patients anxiety since the fear of addiction is not

Every year over 1.2 million students will choose to drop out of high school in the United States
alone and about 25% of all high school freshmen will not graduate in time. For these students,
college is a waste of money and time. With so many other jobs available everyone should be able
