Eating Healthy is too Expensive? In today s society there is more fast food than
ever and easier access towards the high cholesterol foods rather than the heart
healthy foods. You may ask why? Well the low fat, wheat, veggies, or other healthy
foods are far more expensive than just grabbing a quick bite at Chick Fil A or
Cookout. This conflict between whether or not to spend a fortune on food so you
can look good or be healthy has been debated for decades. Do the brands, who are
much less fattening, have the right to up charge so much and why? People all the
time state this false quote, Healthy foods don t cost more than unhealthy ones. For
example, if you go to an all organic grocery store, like Trader Joe s, you will walk out
spending much more than going to a regular grocery store and buying the usual
not low fat foods. A can of soda and an apple have roughly the same number of
calories (~120). While a large apple costs about $1, a can of soda sells for $0.50 to

Playing against the Buffalo Bison we the freshman Warriors had not played well.
Throughout the game shots had not dropped for us and we struggled in a close
game. None the less, we continued to play physical on both ends of the court.
Fouls were called in bunches on both ends of the court, on both us and the Bison.
The difference in us the Warriors and the Bison was that was shot free throws
exceptionally well compared to the Bison. In the end, the game ended with us the
Warriors only have three players on the court, while the Bison had five players left.
Even down players we had gained a lead where there was no way we could lose.
During this game i shot twelve free throws and only missed one, i shot at over
ninety percent helping lead our team to a victory. This is when i realized how
important free throws are to a game of basketball. The amount of free throws you
shot and make is important to any team looking for a win against any opponent.
Not till i had experience the meaning of free throws first hand i had no reason to
practice them. My father forced me to shoot them and i am thankful now, while

Aseptic Technique and Culturing Microbes(1) experiment was followed as stated in
the lab manual from Clinical Microbiology Class C 453. Aseptic technique was
initiated at the beginning of each experiment. Starting by cleansing the work surface
with disinfected wipes to prevent cross contamination each time. Utilizing the gloves
and personal protective equipment assisted in maintaining a pure culture during the
series of experiments. The first step, was to grow the yeast and bacteria cultures. The
materials used for the Aseptic Technique Experiment(1) were: test tuberack, 5 mL
nutrient broth tubes, pipettes, a lit tea light, Fleischmen s rapid yeast pack, E. Coli
tablet and the S. epidermidis tablet. Started by activating the yeast, by placing the
content of Fleischmen s yeast bag in a disposable cup. Then added approximately 60
mL of warm tap water into the disposable cup. To assist in mixing the two items, I
carefully swirled the cup. Once the mixture was combined, it then was left alone for
around 10 minutes or until it was frothy. Each nutrient broth tube was labeled with
the correct name of the microorganism that was cultured in that tube and dated. The
S. epidermidis was selected first, to be cultured. Taking one of the 5mL nutrient broth
tube in one hand, the pipette in other hand. The cap was removed with the same hand
that had the pipette. Utilizing a lit tea light, like a bunsen burner, I flamed the mouth
