Postings in the discussion should be between one and two paragraphs. Responses should add new insights beyond just agreeing or disagreeing, and should include references from the readings like quotes and page numbers. Comments should address the questions, build on what others have said by naming them, and draw from outside knowledge, while maintaining polite etiquette.

1. 1. Postings should be a minimum of one short paragraph and a
maximum of two paragraphs.
2. Avoid postings that are limited to “I agree” or “great idea,” etc. If
you agree (or disagree) with a posting then say why you agree by
supporting your statement with concepts from the readings or by
bringing in a related example or experience. Do not simply repeat
what they have already stated. Even if you agree, add new
information as to why you agree.
3. Address the questions as much as possible (don't let the discussion
stray).
4. Use quotes from the reading that support your postings. Include
page numbers when you do that.
5. When building on others responses, address them by their first
name and last initial in order to keep the discussion organized.
6. Bring in related prior knowledge (work experience, prior
coursework, readings, etc.)
7. Use proper etiquette (proper language, typing, etc.).
