Medical Negligence Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of medical negligence is no easy feat. The intricacies of this
subject demand a thorough understanding of medical practices, legal frameworks, and ethical
considerations. The process involves navigating through complex information, analyzing legal
precedents, and delving into the sensitive realm of healthcare ethics.
To begin with, researching medical negligence requires a deep dive into both medical and legal
literature. Understanding the medical aspect involves comprehending medical procedures,
standards of care, and the potential consequences of deviation from these norms.
Simultaneously, delving into the legal dimension necessitates familiarity with relevant statutes,
case law, and the evolving landscape of healthcare litigation.
One must tread carefully when discussing cases of medical negligence, as the implications are
profound and can significantly impact lives. Balancing the technical aspects of the subject with a
compassionate approach is crucial. Addressing the ethical considerations surrounding medical
negligence further adds to the complexity, as it involves exploring the fine line between
professional accountability and the inherent uncertainty in medical practice.
Constructing a coherent narrative requires the synthesis of information from various disciplines,
creating a seamless blend of medical knowledge, legal expertise, and ethical reasoning. This
interdisciplinary approach demands meticulous attention to detail, critical analysis, and the
ability to present a well-rounded perspective on the multifaceted issues surrounding medical
negligence.
In conclusion, writing an essay on medical negligence demands more than just academic
prowess. It requires a nuanced understanding of medical and legal intricacies, an ethical compass,
and the ability to navigate the complexities of the subject with sensitivity. It is a challenging task
that demands time, dedication, and a commitment to delivering a comprehensive and well-
informed piece.

Mulan And Molana Comparison
Since my research involves comparing Mulan and Moana, establishing the
relationship of these two films is important for my thesis credibility. These films were
not randomly chosen for a comparison and contrast paper. In fact, they were carefully
selected because of the relationship that exists between these films; they come from
the same filmstudio and are constructed with some identical elements. Additionally,
my research is centered on how these films are similar within the overall storytelling
realm and the Disney specific storytelling realm. Before delving into literature that
mentions these films specifically, it is crucial to introduce a theory that accounts for
why and how these two films share similar plot elements. In his book, Seven Basic

Deep/Dark Web
The Deep Web is a term that refers to a number of websites that are invisible to
everyone. You cannot find these websites using a search engine, in other words a
place where google does not go. The Deep Web makes up about 96% of the internet
while the other 4% is the Surface Web. The Surface Web includes sites such as;
Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, or any website you can find through a search engine. A
lot of illegal activity takes place within the deep web. Child pornography, human
torture, killings, illegal goods and services are available to view or purchase on the
deep web, making the Deep Web possess the largest black market ever to exist.
The creation of the Deep Web was in 1994. Back then it was known as the hidden
web. The terms Deep Web and Dark Web came up in 2001. Though, some people
believe the origin of the term Deep Web goes back to the early 1990s along with
the creation of Onion Routing. No one knows exactly how big the deep web really
is, but we know it is hundreds of times bigger than the Surface Web. The data
within the Deep Web isn t necessarily hidden on purpose. Current search engine
technology find it very hard to make sense of it, therefore, it makes the sites seem
hidden. The Dark Web on the other hand is darker than the Deep Web. Users bury
data intentionally on the Dark Web. The Dark Web requires a special browser to
access some of parts of it.

The Four Main Types Of Radiological And Nuclear
Terrorism
Describe the four main types of radiological and nuclear terrorism (25 points). The
four main types of radiological and nuclear terrorism are Chemical, Biological,
Radiological and nuclear (CBRN) attacks. These types of attacks can have deadly
consequences and significantly impact a country if an attack is carried out. Not
only can causality rates be high, but there can also be significant economic
consequences as well. Chemical attacks involve the use of chemical agents that are
man made gases, liquids, or powders that can have incapacitating or lethal effects on
humans. Most chemical weapons fall into five broad categories: blister, nerve,
choking, blood, and incapacitating (Forest Howard, 2013). Chemical agents will
vary in their degree of potency and volatility. Depending on how volatile or potent
the agent is, the stronger the effects of agent will be on humans. Biological weapon
attacks involve the intentional release of a pathogen or bio toxin against humans,
animals, or plants (Forest Howard, 2013, pg. 113). Similar to chemical attacks,
biological attacks can cause, death, illness, and societal disruption. Additionally, these
attacks can cause widespread economic damage by poisoning agriculture crops and
livestock. Biological attacks can be carried out by dispersing the pathogen through
aerosol mechanisms, food and water supplies, and infected animals. A radiological
attack is the intentional spreading of radioactive material with the intent to do
Essay on The Price of Diamonds Is too High
The Price of Diamonds Is Too High
For centuries the diamond has fascinated man for its alluring sparkle and physical
hardness. Formed about three billion years ago, the diamond may very well be the
oldest and most precious item any person can own. The internationally accepted
notion that this commodity is one of the most treasurable commodity of them all
has led to the public being prepared to pay the prices that are set by a group of
companies in an agreement known as a cartel. This essay will evaluate the diamond
market on a microeconomic level and discuss how the diamond cartel came about,
what has allowed it to operate for decades, as well as how it determines the price of
diamonds. In addition, this essay will, by aid of diagrams ... Show more content on

In the same light, if the price varied vastly between companies, people would be
able to purchase from the company that charges less, resulting in people losing their
appreciation of the product. A threat to the company came about in the 1950s when
diamonds were discovered in Siberia, and although these diamonds were of a
somewhat inferior quality to the ones sold the company De Beers, these cheaper
diamonds would lead to a decrease in the quantity of De Beers diamonds demanded.
Therefore, De Beers bought up almost every diamond from Siberia, meaning that it
owned the vast majority of the diamonds of the world. Price fixing and output
restriction were the next step to ensure that diamonds do not lose their value to the
world.
The general law of demand states that the higher the price of a good, the lower the
demand. However, the cartel introduced an incentive so that regardless of how high
up they decide to push the price of diamonds, there would still be a great demand
for them. They developed the marketing strategy of making diamonds synonymous
with the idea of love and romance, an idea that is strongly valued by cultures across
the globe. As a result, even to present day times, diamonds are considered the
ultimate token of love, and any of the other gems of the

European Expansion Of America
Summary
The beginning of the interaction of the Americas and Europe all started with the
expansion of Europe. Europe had been an agricultural society that thrived and was
continually expanding. However, the Black Death wiped out a third of the western
European population. Technological breakthroughs proved that the European
economy had a large capacity for recovery in the late middle ages. Following the
middle ages came the Renaissance. The Renaissance outlooks and ideas where what
helped spark the spirit that motivated the exploration of the Americas. The Portuguese
where the first to start exploring. They founded many bases along the western
African Gold Coast. These bases where all placed in key spots for the Asian spice

The French decided to travel to the Americas as well. They wanted to expand on
the fur trade. In Europe, fur had become rare and expensive as hunters pushed
game populations to its limit. They traded natives copper, glass, and textile, in
exchange for cheap fur. Traders would then take it back to France and sell it for 10
20 times more than what they got it for. At the same time, Indians became
dependent on European tools and products. This was bad news for them. At the
same time, the French brought over new diseases and illnesses, repeating what the
Spaniards had done to those in Central America. French peoples also came to the
Americas in search of religious and social freedoms that they could not obtain in
France. During the Protestant Reformation, a group of Huguenots settled in Fort
Caroline on the St. John River in Florida. The Spanish where alarmed by this and a
series of battles occurred between the French and Spanish. During this time,
England also took upon itself a new state religion, with King Henry VIII at the head
of it. After a series of new kings and queens, English people where pushed out of
their homes and forced to live in streets. Some where sent to Ireland, but the Irish
fought back with fierce intensity, giving them the nickname, the wild Irish. The
English people viewed themselves as civilized and grew the notion that civilized

of Native American Indians. He felt as if they were not getting treated equally. He
was very passionate about this since he was Indian. This was also like his way of

Fallingwater Vs Kentuck Knob Essay
Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob are two beautiful homes built by a man known as an
architectural genius, Frank Lloyd Wright. These houses have gained such notoriety in
the architectural world that both were named as National Historic Landmarks. The
houses are located very close to each other resting in the beautiful Allegheny
Mountains of Fayette County in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Fallingwateris
approximately 43 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. This home was built partly over a
waterfall on Bear Run in the Laurel Highlands. The house was built between 1936
and 1939 for Edgar and Liliane Kaufmann, the owners of the famous Kaufmann s

Kentuck Knob is located on Chestnut Ridge which is similarly situated in the
winding roads of the Allegheny Mountains. Kentuck Knob overlooks the fantastic
view of the Youghiogheny River gorge as well as surrounding hills and farmland.
Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob were intentionally designed alike and have many
similarities but some notable differences as well. They were both built in the
Allegheny Mountains of Fayette County. The natural landscape and architectural
style was described by Wright as organic and have a natural feel and style to match
its surroundings. Both homes are integrated into the scenic and beautiful landscape of
the land. Fallingwater sits low in the valley of over the stream, but looks dramatic
from further downstream. The house has large terraces, and some of them stick
straight out and hang over the waterfall. There are very strong horizontal and vertical
lines in the design of the house which resembles the horizontal and vertical lines in
the rock formations and other natural features. Fallingwater used cantilevers to hold
certain parts of the house over the stream. Some of the house was built with the
stones found in the area. The waterfall
The Works Of The Opera Billy Budd, The Handsome Sailor
There are two possible fates we each face in life. We either forget our mistakes or
carry them on our shoulders forever. This burden has evolved into a common theme
for operas, novels and other pieces of literature. For instance, Benjamin Britten uses
this motif as a threshold for his opera Billy Budd. He explores the hunting troubles
of captain Edward Fairfax Vere by setting up a narration on retrospect of the hanging
of Billy Budd, the handsome sailor . Inspired by Herman Melvilles novel, the opera
became well known. In effect, in 1997 John Dexter directed one of the
performances in the Metropolitan Opera. The story begins with captain Vere as an
old man who narrates in retrospect the story of Billy Budd on his ship the
Indomitable. Billy, the handsome sailor, kills the master at arms, Claggart, and is,
therefore, condemned to death by law. Vere decides not to influence Billy s verdict
and simply hears out what the other three highly ranked sailors have to say. Despite
the captain being against the ruling, Billy has to be hanged in order to follow the
laws and avoid mutiny from the ship s crew. The narration proceeds with Billy s
waiting for his hanging and the execution itself. By the end of the account, Vere
asserts that he has accepted Billy s death. It can be easy to believe this assumption,
but nothing could be further from the truth. Captain Vere has not come to terms with
this episode of his life, neither should he.
Vere is still plagued by this chapter of his
Minister s Black Veil Interpretation
Throughout the story of The Minister s Black Veil by Nathaniel Hawthorne, you
would be able to find many messages that convey the same as the song, Demons by
Imagine Dragons and vice versa. Both the song and the story are trying to teach a
valuable life lesson that you cannot hide from your past. Both the short story and
the song teach so much about the greed of the world, how you can t hide from
your sins, and how looks can be deceiving. In the song Demons , I believe the
lyrics No matter what we breed, We still are made of greed points out a huge
problem in this world. No matter how much we have we always want more,
making us out to be very greedy. This particular lyric relates to The Minister s
Black Veil because the minister s wife leaves him when he refuses to take off the
veil. This makes her out to be greedy as she is only thinking of herself. I believe this
comes to show, that unfortunately, more often than not, people will always do what s
best for themselves, and not think about others.... Show more content on

him saying that everybody is harboring their own secret sins. This conveys to the
song Demons because of the lyrics I want to hide the truth. I want to shelter you.
But with the beast inside. There s nowhere we can hide. I believe it s saying that no
matter how much you try and forget something, it will always always be there, just
like the people s sins. You can t hide from your past mistakes, so you might as well

Helmut Walser Smith s A Butcher s Tale and Alain Corbin s Village of Cannibals,
present case studies of historical accounts which demonstrate the power of masses
and of crowd violence in the small Prussian town of Konitz and the isolated French
village of Hautefaye. Small towns are generally attributed to communal
characteristics where citizens help and protect one another; however, the events that
unraveled in these two cases generated a shock factor to the neighboring towns as it
exemplified the power of rumor and the overall naivety of the inhabitants of the two
towns. These case studies are also reflections of how the most civilized of societies
are able to resort to barbaric actions through mere hearsay and allow their prejudices
to shape their perception. This paper will examine the dynamics of the crowd, the
explanation for the unfolding events and the ways in which both authors reach their
conclusions of the unraveling of these events. The particular unfolding of events in
both case studies of the historical accounts of violence which occurs in these two
small towns is explained through the notion of rumor as a news source. Smith s A

Boulder Model Vs. Vail Model
Students who consider doctoral level studies in clinical psychology often face a
very confusing range of training options. It is often a choice between the Boulder
Model (PhD) and Vail Model (PsyD). Applicants in general need to be aware of the
difference between both these models in order to fully utilize their time and
resources and start their career. The Boulder and Vail Model are two important
training models in clinical psychology.
The Boulder and Vail Models
The Boulder Model also known as the Scientist Practitioner Model awards a PhD
(doctor of philosophy) to its trainees, while preparing them for both practical and
academic world. The Vail Model on the other hand, also known as the Practitioner
Scholar Model awards a PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) degree. The main differences
in both are discussed below.

After getting great appreciation from the whole psychological and academic
community, the model was accredited.
The main purpose of the Boulder Model is to improve scientific growth when it
comes to clinical psychology. Research methodology, field work and psychological
theory are taken as a base to develop a proper research background for the
psychologists. Empirical research is greatly encouraged in clinicians through this
model for influencing practice. The Boulder Model sees continuous advancement,
refinement and perfection of the scientific models in psychology.
The Boulder Model helped make PhD a required degree in most academic fields.
Most Boulder model programs in clinical psychological degrees award a PhD. It also
helped promote the idea that the proper location for the training of students was not
in a separate institution but within the original department of the university. Clinical
psychologists through this model are trained to work in both the practical and
academic world.

Schools are not value neutral environments and are committed to teaching the value
of truth. Cheating is not condoned and consequences result when caught. Teachers
are role models of behavior and reasoning by the actions they display in their
classroom and the structure which they establish for their students. Each of these
things will play a role in the development of personal values. As children become
more active and involved in school, the sphere of influence widens further. Friends,
team mates, school organizations, sports activities, and clubs are examples of
influence that continue to mold our value system. Entering the workforce further
provides opportunities for our values to be shaped by those surrounding us.
Everyone is affected by the culture and values of the companies they work with.
Coworkers, managers, and the company s executives all have the opportunity to
participate in the on going process of influencing and shaping the values of those
around them. Professional organizations and civic activities will also play a role in
the on going development of personal values.
Do Personal Values Change? A person s values will change as they get older. With
aging, maturity and life experiences, an individual may develop a new and perhaps
different understanding of his or her own personal values. What was seemingly

Persuasive Essay About Makeup
In past times, there were few makeup products to choose from. A majority of these
products were home made. As time has went on, more products were made as
makeup and beauty products became popular as the advertisement industry began
to grow. At this point in time, many places sell products with prices affordable up
to being ridiculous prices but they are sold because of the want for the products by
many people. Advertising is everywhere; from billboards, trucks, magazines,
online apps, and the radio. In the advertisements, they include a description of
what the product is supposedly able to do to make you look flawless or beautiful .
The thought that you need a beauty product to meet society s expectations is not
good and can affect your self esteem especially if the product does not even do
what it was supposed to have done. In the 21st century, make up is used for many
things from covering up natural parts of your skin like redness, blemishes, and
freckles to wearing make up for a date, costumes, holidays, going to the store, work,

The models used for advertising skin products already have what society s view of
perfect skin is without the use of the product. These models are not chosen due to
the use of the product on their skin making them look the way they do but because

The Main Aspects Of Intrinsic Motivation For An Athlete
Motivation is crucial for an athlete in order to want to win. It is hard to want to win
if you have no motivation. The main aspect of motivation in terms of the self
determination theory is intrinsic motivation. The self determination theory can be
defined as a highly appropriate conceptual framework from which to study sport
persistence and dropout (Calvo, CervellГі, JimГ©nez, Iglesias, Moreno Murcia,
2010). Intrinsic Motivationcan be defined as an athlete taking up playing a sport just
for the enjoyment of playing a sport (Pelletier, Tuson, Fortier, Vallerand, BriГ©re,
1995). It is important to realize that the self determination theory affects an athlete s
motivation intrinsically (internally) because the self determination theory uses
factors like autonomy and competence to motivate an athlete to play better in their
sport. Most athletes, now and in the past, find it easier to motivate themselves
intrinsically if they enjoy the sport or have fun while playing the sport (Ryan Deci,
1985).
Definitions
Intrinsic Motivation has been experimented on for years and in order to prove its
validity. Regarding athletics, intrinsic motivation is defined as an athlete taking up
playing a sport just for the enjoyment of playing a sport (Pelletier et al., 1995). In an
article published by Ryan Deci, the two argue that through their research, it was
proven that having intrinsic motivation will help engage an athlete because of the
feeling of competence that arises

beyond his years, most of the reforms he fought diligently for are still implemented
currently. A majority of Bryan s legislative policies such as income tax, insured
bank deposits, and the popular election of senators have proved to be extremely
beneficial reforms, but not every victory is now seen as such. Prohibition, for
example, is still a very controversial issue and is often considered a failed move on
the governments part. Though there are many health, religious, and economic
advantages, prohibition during the 1920 s was also a leading cause of organized
crime, black markets, and disruption of usual social practices. For every policy
endorsed by William Jennings Bryan or any politician for that matter, there are
always those who express a differing opinion. Bryan was a man who fought for a
cause he truly believed in and I feel most of the political changes he endorsed created
positive results for the country. In the case of prohibition, it may not have been
extremely successful but the
Future Writing
How I Will Use Writing in My Life and in the Future
At one point or another everyone will use writing throughout the span of their
lifecycle. These writings can take many different forms. From speeches, personal or
public journal entries, newspaper or magazine writings, to internet blogs; just to
name a few. In my lifecycle now and in the future I will use writing in several
different forms. College papers, is the first form of writing that I am currently
encountering in my life. I will continue to experience this form of writing in the
future as I continue to embark on my collegiate journey. Currently, I write 4 papers
at least per semester that I am enrolled in school. These papers are expected to
follow a certain format before they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Journal writings for me are personal. Although, I do use journal writings within this
English course as well. While writing most of my journals are personal, it does feel
wonderful to get my thoughts and feelings out onto paper. It is the most freeing and
enjoyable form of writing that I use. Speeches are the third form of writing that I
currently use and will continue to use throughout my college career. Speeches are
the most dreaded form of writing for me. When writing a speech I have a tendency
to overthink and revise my speech several times, never getting it to be just perfect.
Although speeches are a form of writing that I currently use and will use throughout
my college career, I am hopeful that I will not have to use them after college. Emails
and letters are the final form of writing that I use in my day to day and will continue
to use throughout life. While emails and letters are a shorter form of writing, I find
that if they are not composed correctly, they can be misconstrued. When composing
these writings, as with most writings you need to watch the format, wording,
capitalization, and punctuation. I find this to be the most frequently used form of
writing that I currently use and will continue to
Echoes Of Kindness Research Paper
Echoes of Kindness It was in the middle of September and it was around this time
bat colonies started to regroup after the females left to form nursery colonies. The
younger bats, not quite adults, were working on perfecting their echolocation and
hunting skills in the fall. In one bat colony, specifically a little brown batcolony,
housed in a large cave in west Texas, was flourishing. One of the young bats found it
a bit uncomfortable hanging upside down in the middle of the crowd. Colonies of
little brown bats could be very large, up to the thousands. Hey, Tiny! A young bat

Analysis Of Where The Wild Things Are Essay
Character of Godly Leaders
The word character naturally conjures up an array of specific attributes distinctive
of an individual or environment. Our earliest experiences with character likely stem
from being read classic children s books, like Maurice Sendak s, Where The Wild
Things Are, or Dr. Seuss s, Green Eggs and Ham, which portray distinct personality
traits within the main character and demonstrate evolution of self as the character
acquires knowledge from his or her life experience. Like the characters within our
favorite childhood books, each of us represents a malleable being whose shape can
transform through the beautiful manifestation of God s glory throughout our life
journey.
The bible provides countless examples of individuals with an incredible moral
foreground on which a sovereign God casts influence upon the body of Christ, from
the metamorphosis of the apostle Peter to Jesus the Messiah, yet God himself remains
the ultimate testament of character. The immaculate nature of God can be seen
within the following excerpt from the book of Exodus,
As he passed in front of Moses, he called out. He said, I am the LORD, the LORD.
I am the God who is tender and kind. I am gracious. I am slow to get angry. I am
faithful and full of love. I continue to show my love to thousands of people. I
forgive those who do evil. I forgive those who refuse to obey me. And I forgive those
who sin. But I do not let guilty people go without punishing them. I cause

The Chinese Communist Party And The Peasant Class
The Chinese Communist Party took control of the government in 1949, after
defeating the Nationalist party and its un communist policies, laws, and views.
During this time period WWII was also going on bringing with it new ideas and
technologies that changed China for better or worse. With this change the peasant
class experienced a major shift in rights, power, and influence. The Chinese
Communist Party and the peasant class between circa 1925 and circa 1950 had a
relationship that greatly benefited both sides, the Chinese Communist Party
empowered the peasants and advocated for social and economic equality which
strengthened the anti japanese viewpoint and instilled a sense of nationalism. The

What Does The Chimney Sweeper Mean

Also when a customer tends to see the same company products everywhere and that
too at a slightly elevate rate, and then the element of Buyers illusion comes into the
picture. The customers tend to believe that the product is priced higher as it is
superior in quality and better as compared to other similar products priced at a lower
rate.
Any company prefers to diversify and systematically target and capture certain
market segments in order to provide that segment superior quality service and kill
all forms of competition from that segment. This seems to be the goal of PepsiCo
too. It wants to diversify from being a supplier of just carbonated drinks and branch
into fruit drinks. To do this the merger was the ideal option, because along with the
Quaker company they are also buying its goodwill and market share. This way they
can systematically cater to every possible need of the sports segment right from the
choice of drinks to providing snacks.
This brings to the role of regulatory bodies, which are created to prevent the dealings
between companies, which might prove detrimental to consumers in the long run.
They prevent tie ups between companies that would kill competition and also prevent
price discrimination.
On a final note, acquisitions and mergers have their own positive as well as flip
sides. On the positive side smaller firms with fewer resources could continue to thrive

Examples Of Refusal In Antigone
A refusal is an action with the purpose to deny a request. A denied request usually
causes a negative reaction from the requester. A refusal must be calculated and well
planned because of this possible outcome. Loudly refusing a king s orders can have
the refuser hanged, while secretly disobeying the king s orders can leave the refuser
unharmed. Throughout several stories and films, authors have clearly portrayed the
countless ways that refusals can be done and the consequences that can be faced. A
successful refusal is strategized according to the situation, setting, and audience.
The play Antigone clearly shows how a bold and loud refusal ends badly. Antigone
believed that her brother deserved a proper burial, so she went against the king s
orders and buried him. Even though she was correct, this uncivil act of refusal led
Antigone to be put in prison. Even when Antigone was caught, she remained
rebellious against the king. Antigone stated, I didn t suppose your decree had ... Show

When someone refuses to follow what a person of higher power requests, the
refuser faces the possibility of consequences that cannot be evaded. For example, a
knight that refuses to follow the orders of royalty may face prison time, or even
death. A loud and bold refusal by a king will usually be accepted because of the
respect that the king has from society. Meanwhile, a stealthy and secret refusal
should typically come from a person of lower power in order to avoid
consequences. If a target is misguided due to deception, the refuser will never get
caught, and could also have the opportunity of to benefit from the requester. For
example, if a poor woman successfully seduces a rich man that she hates, she will
most likely end up with 50% of the rich man s total assets due to divorce. The poor
woman not only refused to be loyal, but tricked the rich man out of half of his

pets get during the summer and warmer months drops off drastically when winter

and healthy throughout the winter months. First, getting dogs new toys every
winter is always a good idea. A rope or pull toy is a great option because it allows for
indoor tug of war. This is a great way for pets to work out their muscles and is a
great way for them to let out bent up frustration of being stuck indoors. Toys that

To alleviate any problems with fussy eaters, the Heartgard medication is supplied
in the form of a tasty chewable treat. These chewables contain beef to make them
appetising to the most reticent tablet taker, but this does mean they are not suitable
for dogs with sensitivities to beef. For those delicate pooches, ordinary Heartgard
tablets will need to be bought. Heartgard Plus for dogs contain Ivermectin, which is
an effective controller of many parasites. It is used widely for the treatment of a
wide range of internal parasites in farm animals and in the treatment of dogs who test
positive for full blown heartworm disease. The volume of Ivermectin contained in
dog heartworm medicine is so small that it only eliminates heartworm larvae.
Heartgard Plus medication does not prevent larval heartworms infecting your dog, it
stops them living long enough to cause any problem. The way the heartworm
medicine aspect of Heartgard Plus medication works is in a retrospective manner.
Each month your dog is given his chewable and the active ingredient slowly destroys
all heartworm larvae which have infected the blood during the previous thirty days.
Because the drug works backwards, eliminating parasites before they can progress to
adulthood, it is crucial that the treatment is given every month. Otherwise larvae
deposited in your dog s bloodstream via a mosquito bite can grow and eventually
reproduce. Although Ivermectin heartworm medications are good at eliminating
larvae which have been in the system longer than a month, their efficiency reduces as
the larvae grow. Alongside an extremely reliable heartworm preventative, Heartgard
Plus chewables also contain Pyrantel, another parasite controller. This one targets
roundworm and hookworms. Using Heartguard Plus for dogs eliminates the need for
an additional deworming regime, providing a convenient method of controlling both
intestinal worms and heartworms together. For more
The Ford Motor Company s Star Child Essay
In 1903, Henry Ford did not know he was about to revolutionize the automobile
world when he opened the Ford Motor Company in the suburb of Dearborn
Michigan. After opening Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford saw several ways to
improve the auto industry through a series of inventions and visions. In 1903 cars
were a luxury item, and only the rich and well off were able to afford them. Henry
Fordhad a different vision, he saw the potential that the automobile market held, if,
he could create an automobile that could be affordable to the everyday American
at the time. The everyday Americans were the ones who did not have a lot of
money and weren t able to afford the luxuries in life, they were the American s who
were just trying to keep ends tied and food on the table for their families. ( Henry
Ford Changes the World , 2003) Envisioning a world where cars were affordable for
everyone, led to the birth of Ford Motor Companys star child; The Model T. Henry
Ford did something that was unheard of in 1903, he created an automobile that was
lightweight, able to be operated by anyone with ease, there was no training or
special skills needed to operate the Model T, and as an added bonus it had a great
fuel economy! The model T got 25 miles to a gallon, but most importantly it was
reasonably priced for the everyday American at a whopping $825.00. The price and
features of the Model T made Henry Ford one of the most popular men and company
in the country and put Ford Motor Company on
The Effect Of Parapsychology On The Existence Of Science
Not a lot of people can say they have had a paranormal experience. It is the kind of
thing that happens once in a lifetime, and usually it is not anything big. But those
who do have these experiences pertain that belief in the supernatural, and it is these
documented experiences that have brought about the study of parapsychology. Is
there something to these claims or is it due to mental illusions? Parapsychology is a
highly debated branch of science because of the existence of phenomena that cannot
be explained, the main argument being in the existence of physics and whether there
is something beyond or not. s Parapsychology is the study of supernatural phenomena
or more specifically, psychicphenomena. Most parapsychologists divide... Show more

Even the learned expressed interest in these, however, the wide acceptance of these
occurrences may have been due to the insufficient education of the general public.
After the Enlightenment, which occurred in the 18th century, the existence of deities
and magic was more widely contested and doubted, leading to the discrediting of
these phenomena as science. One of the first scientists to attempt a scientific study of
psychic phenomena was Franz Anton Mesmer in the 1700 s; he experimented with
and attempted to patent the mesmerism technique, more commonly known as
hypnotism. Even though his method did not achieve scientific recognition, shifting
religious beliefs allowed for the widespread Spiritualism movement, which allowed
for the use of mediums and the like (Psychicscience.org). Modern parapsychology
came about in the 1920 s with the invention of statistical tools and the efforts of a
researcher by the name of J.B. Rhine. Rhine had three aims through his experiments:
to provide data on parapsychological phenomena rather than to attempt to prove their
existence, to achieve scientific recognition and to prove that psychic ability was not
limited to certain people and was a part of human psyche all along just waiting to be
discovered. Though he was not necessarily successful in his goals, Rhine did change
his field in that now psychic study is not limited to individuals with psychic talent,
rather a
Digital Estate Research Paper
Unlike 20 years ago, a large portion of an average person s life is done online. If you
re like most people, you have an accumulation of digital assets, which can include
everything from photos, videos to checking accounts.
If you fail to leave your loved ones a complete documentation of your digital
possessions, they can be lost in cyberspace. If you re worried about your digital
assets after you re gone, here are some guidelines for ensuring they continue.
What s Included in a Digital Estate
A digital estate entails all your accounts that are accessed through a computer. This
typically includes:
All email accounts This includes incoming, sent and stored email messages from all
computers, laptops, Ipads, cell phones and other internet devices.
Social media accounts such as Twitter,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s tempting to select a close relative or friend to hand over your personal data once
you re gone. However, if you do this, just be sure he or she is qualified to handle the
technical facets of all types of digital assets.
One of the most qualities to look for when choosing a digital executor director is
someone who s detail oriented and exceptionally organized. Your digital executor
should be highly tech savvy and not afraid to use the internet.
He or she should also be dedicated to carrying out all your wishes, as well as be a
patient person because dealing with various internet companies can entail a
considerable amount of time. Also, a digital executor should be able to communicate
and work well with other people.
Considerations and Warnings
Even if you leave behind all your passwords for your internet accounts, most heirs
will still be frustrated because they can still lack the power or authority for managing
your online accounts once you re
Microfinance And Small Scale Business
Introduction
Microfinance are the financial institutions who provide loans or funds to individuals
who do not possess the actual documents which can be submitted to banks to seek
/borrow loans. These individuals can be entrepreneurs and small scale business
owners. Microfinance institutions mostly function in developing countries when
compared to developed countries. They are almost similar to banks with regards to
the nature of functioning, for instance, they fund people who would like to start a
poultry business (farmers), transportation and restaurants.
The functions as mentioned earlier are similar to the banking institutions, however,
the range of transactions are in small scale. The transactions mostly happen with few
hundreds of dollars. The money borrowed are often used to buy the tools and
necessary items to start with construction in case of a new small business or for
reconstruction in case of an established trader. The main purpose of these small
entrepreneurs is to support their families and the run their business to get themselves
out of poverty. Microfinance institutions lends loan on short term basis where the
borrower is expected to pay their loan within 6 months to 1 year. Hence these
institutions do not require much documents prior to approve the loans, as it can be
seen with most banks.
What kind of innovation is microfinance today?
Microfinance was started as a Social Innovation by a Bangladeshi social entrepreneur

The Maribyrnong River Bank
There are places in the west that we pass daily which seem forever destined to
remain a mystery or curiosity like the cluttered yellow barbershop on Williamstown
road, the Museum of Printing on Geelong Road, or even the old Greek op shop in
Spotswood but Footscray s Heavenly Queen Temple need not be a mystery any longer.
Most recognisable for its 50 foot gold statue overlooking the Maribyrnong River
which is visible from trains on the Sydenham line, The Westsider recently visited for
the birthday celebrations of the royal deity herself, and was given the grand tour
(and a tasty pork bun) by Society President Mr William Tsang.
The Maribyrnong River bank began its transformation into Australia s largest
Chinese temple with the acquisition of the unused land wedged between the river
and the railway line previously designated a 100 year flood area, meaning no
building could be undertaken for fear of potential flood damage. With the land raising
project complete, the foundations were in place for the current temple and grand
entrance gate, with the complex awaiting completion of left and right wing buildings,
plus an additional temple at the rear over the coming years.
To its worshippers, the temple is a celebration of the goddess Mazu the protector of
sea travellers but it also stands as a testament to the resilience of the Chinese people
who journeyed to Footscray and surrounds via troubled Vietnam in the 1970s and
80s. It is also home to four other deities

The asteroid mining industry will get nowhere if they can not be sure they even
own the materials they mined. Thankfully, there is legislation waiting to be passed
in the House of Representatives that will ensure companies own the materials
mined from asteroids. Eventually, asteroid mining will become a reality. When it
does, asteroid mining will have numerous effects on the global economy. To begin
with, the development of the asteroid mining industry will lead to a massive
surplus of PGMs. A near Earth asteroid, 3554 Amun is an M type asteroid. That
means it is at least partially known to be made of metal. At a relatively small size
of 2.48 Kilometers, 3554 Amun is estimated to contain eight trillion USD worth of
platinum, six trillion USD worth of iron and nickel, and six trillion USD worth of
cobalt, for a value of around twenty two trillion USD worth of metals (Lewis 1).
Even though 3554 Amun has the enough value to wipe the U.S. National debt clean,
the monetary value is not what is important. The quantity of metals is what is
important. Here on earth, PGMs are very difficult to obtain, because they are found
in small deposits at a time, and must then be processed into metals. Asteroids like
3554 Amun are saturated with PGMs, and contain more precious metals that have
ever been excavated in history, and perhaps more than could ever be excavated from
earth s upper crust (Whitehouse 1). Mining an asteroid like 3554 Amun
The Understanding Of Wall Bounded Turbulent Flows
INTRODUCTION
In the world today, the understanding of wall bounded turbulent flows are of great
importance because of the high number of man made and natural fluid flow such as
flows in rivers, pipelines, canals, boundary layers, whether it be for power generation,
irrigation systems, removal of pollutants, heat exchangers, various devices, etc. About
50% of the energy spent in transferring fluids through such systems are lost due to
energy dissipation caused by turbulence. Therefore there is an increasing need to
fully understand what occurs in wall bounded turbulent flows in other to apply such
knowledge and reduce the energy lost during transportation of fluids.
In turbulence, energy, momentum and other conserved quantities are... Show more

Therefore in wall bounded flows it is important to not only understand how energy
is transferred across various sizes of eddies at a given geometric location but to also
understand the interaction of various sizes of eddies at various distances from the
wall.
INNER AND OUTER REGIONS
Wall bounded flow can be divided into two main regions: inner and outer regions.
The inner region can be further broken into three different layers, starting from the
wall upwards:
Viscous Sublayer: This is the region that is closest to the wall. Turbulent motions in
the region are affected by friction and possess relatively low Reynolds number.
Viscosity is dominant in this region and it ranges around〖 y〗^+≤5. In this
sublayer shear stress is negligible to viscous shear stress hence the momentum
equation becomes a linear equation. гЂ–duгЂ—^+/гЂ–dyгЂ—^+ =1
Therefore, u^+= y^+
Buffer Layer: It ranges from 5≤ y^+ ≤30 . In this range both viscosity and
inertial forces are effective here. Neither of both laws works well in this region with
the largest variation from either laws occurring atгЂ– yгЂ—^+=11. That is before 11
wall units the linear approximation u^+= y^+ is more accurate and after 11 wall
units the logarithmic approximation f(y^+ )= 1/k lnвЃЎгЂ–y^+ гЂ—+B should be
used.

Leonardo Da Vinci And The Renaissance
Roughly between the times of the 14th and 17th centuries a cultural movement
called the Renaissance existed. The Renaissance housed some of the greatest
intellects, such as Leonardo da Vinci, and a radically different way of thinking
emerged. Humanism developed largely and rapidly among this time, and was greatly
influenced by a man named Desiderius Erasmus (1466 1536). Erasmus, a Dutchman,
originally lived among monasteries where he developed many opposing views
during his years of service. In the midst of the Renaissance, around the 16th century,
the Reformation movement began to splinter the faiths of Europe. Some say that
Erasmus bridged the ideals of the Renaissance and Reformation movements. Among
his many contributions to the humanist drive, he wrote many colloquies originally
intended for teaching Latin to school children, which doubled as underlying
preaching of Erasmus s ideals. A collection of a variety of these stories entitled the
Ten Colloquies written by Erasmus shows specific examples of the tethering of
Renaissance to the Reformation largely on the theme of ad fontes.
One of Erasmus known standards was the importance of going back to the sources.
During the Renaissance, born in Florence, this was very common thought, as it was
a period of admiration of early Greek and Roman culture, intellect, and art. This
began to pave some of the ways of many reformers mainly as they begin to question
the practices of the Catholic Church. Many began to question where
Effects Of Race Riots On Urban African Americans
Urban Blacks were also encounter with extreme racial violence in neighborhoods
and at work. Different ethnic groups of new immigrants obtained power and used
conflict as a strategy of diminishing urban Blacks power level. They began blocking
Urban Black workers going to work throughout new immigrant s neighborhoods. Race
riots have played a crucial role in the social establishment of race, prejudice, and
discriminationacross the United States. Race riots uncovered fundamental tensions
in societies experiencing swift technological and economic changes. In 1920, there
were many race riots and other violence in many places, such as Red Summer Race
Riots of 1919 and the St. Louis Riot of 1917 that took place during the segregation
in the South and the Black urban migration to the North. These race riots were
response to the reality that Urban Blacks were carrying on a powerful struggle
against White supremacy. During race riots, Urban Blacks lived through a renewed
flow of riots, massacres, and racial terrorism.
Before the race riots broke out in Chicago, tension between two communities were
high and resulted 1919 Chicago Race Riot, which Black teenager called Eugene
Williams swimming in Lake Michigan was stoned to death by White bystanders. His

The Great Wave
Even though like many art form date back, painting being the oldest, they can for the
most part all interrelate with each other such as: music and dance, poetry and
sculpture, music and drama and can go together many different way depending on the
person perspective, but the one that stands out the most is poetry and painting. A
prime example would be a the painting The Starry nightand its conjoining poem, but
not allowed to use that one so the next best one is The Great Wave by Hokusai. Most
people when reading something they image it in the mind to help them to get a
better understanding of the poem, and what is going on allowing them to enjoy it
more or to dislike the scene that could be being portrayed. For example, in a quote

Though this poem is seem more descriptive telling a person what the painting is a
about like in the quote, Summer ! the painting is organized about a young reaper
enjoying his noonday rest completely relaxed from his morning labors sprawled in
fact sleeping unbuttoned on his back. The paint is just like that there is a white
that looks like they have been working on it all morning and now it is time to sit
down relaxed a little, eat, and drink some food knowing that they re going to have
to get back to work when they are done but enjoying every moment of the time off.
Just comparable the ending of the poem, A spot of wine they gather gossiping
under a tree whose shade carelessly he does not share the resting center of their
workaday world. This quote goes Beyond the moment capture in the painting saying
the live a simple life of hard labor by saying just the last to word, workaday world,
and that the little time they do have not working they take advantage of that time
living it to the fullest.
In conclusion, the interrelationship of poetry and painting is very prominent in art
allowing the observer to build a better image, and understand of both art form being
it s a poem depicting a painting or a panting making a poem in someone s mind
with the lines and angles. Even still people will always see indifferent way but with
putting the two form together people will see the image more clearly to them and
may appreciate the quality of the
Acid Rain Formation
Acid Rain Formation The formation of acid rain occurs when particular gasses are
dissolved into rainwater which in turn creates acids. When precipitation is caught up
in clouds, potent gasses are capable of polluting the rainwater causing it to become
extremely acidic. One of the most common acids that is absorbed into the rainis sulfur
trioxide. This acid is produced from the vast amount of human activity on our earth.
Nitrogen and sulfur are two main airborne elements that cause this dangerous
precipitation of acids. The scientific study of acid rain has brought researchers to
believe that sixty five to seventy percent of acid rain formation is caused by sulfur
dioxide. Various kinds of nitrogen oxides cause the remaining percentage of acid
rain occurrences. With the amount of emissions released into the ozone, acid rain
is becoming more and more of a problem for our environment. When these
pollutions react with rain, they form a dangerous product that can damage forests
and soil. This in turn makes the soil infertile, ruining our land. Power plants and
other large industries are releasing a harmful amount of SO2 in the atmosphere.
These excess oxides that are interacting with rain have to be cut down in order to
start reducing the amount of acid rain fall annually. When this acidic solution falls
on areas with sea life and vegetation, it is found to kill fish, larva, insects, plants,
and many other organism. When these forms of life are exposed to this low of a PH, it
Larceny Fraud
I recently finished a stint with the IRS Criminal Investigation Division and I was
exposed to some of the principles we are talking about. Effective and efficient internal
controls are paramount in negating and mitigating the possibility of internal fraud.
A. Identify the people who have the opportunity to steal cash
Operation employee
Audit staff
Financial Manager
B. Identify ways in which these individuals can steal cash
There are many different methods used by employees to steal from a company. Often
when you mention employee theft, the first thought is of a cashier pocketing some
money from the cash register or a maintenance person stealing some items from
around the office. While this happens, there are many other ways that employee steal
from the company. The most common types of employee theft, as reported by the
National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB)5, are:
1Larceny/Embezzlement
2Skimming
3Fraudulent Disbursements
4Stealing Business Opportunities
Each type of theft is committed in a different way and will be explained in detail in
the next sections.
4.1 Larceny/Embezzlement
Larceny is defined as the unlawful taking of personal property with intent to deprive
the rightful owner of it permanently. This is the type of theft that involves an
employee outright stealing cash or property from the employer. It is ... Show more

It is critical for small businesses to make sure that they maintain control over their
company and prevent this type of behavior ever being part of the corporate culture.
It is important to know that most employees are not inclined to steal and that 80%
will only steal due to the opportunity and likelihood that they will get away with it.
This temptation can also be applied to business owners and it is important to know
the temptations that may arise and cause employers to illegally increase their income

Target News Report Example
On March 15, 2017, an unidentified woman walked into Target in Alexandria,
Virginia. Although this story may sound absurd, I find it very ridiculous that
something like this actually happened. Police are looking for a woman who came
into the store dressed as a Target employee. Anyone who has ever been to target
knows what a Target employee wears to work, a red shirt with khakis. It may also
be a coincidence that this lady came in dressed like that. The outcome was
compeltely opposite. It turns out that this woman walked into Target dressed as an
employee in order to go into the stockroom and ended up stealing $400,000 worth of
iPhones. The police report also stated that the woman is not affiliated with the store,
but she appears to have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Who knows, but on the bright side, I felt as if I was working for the FBI
attempting to investigate this case. The article that I found that was fake was the
article about the dead body found under the bed that has been there for at least 5
years. I first found this article on snopes. However, when I looked up the article on
google, I found it on a website called Empire News. Instantly I knew that the article
was obviously fake because at the top of the page, there is an option that says write
for Empire News. Since the author did not even bother to include their name, it
seemed very sketchy to me. Obviously, being able to create and account and write
for a credible news source is not something that can be easily done. Also, with the
fake article, there were no photographs or videos that had a time stamp on it, in
order to be able to verify that the story occurred when the article said it did. Another
thing was that in the fake article, it stated that the owners from the motel asked that
their name and location be omitted from news reports in order to be able to protect
their business. The problem is that they later then wrote a quote from an employee.
If anyone was attempting to actually figure out the name of the motel, they could
figure it out through her name. I imagine that my fake article would have been
posted all over social media as well as every news

You cannot find these websites using a search engine, in other words a place where google does not go. The Deep Web makes up about 96% of the internet while the other 4% is the Surface Web. The Surface Web includes sites such as; Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, or any website you can find through a search engine. A lot of illegal activity takes place within the deep web. Child pornography, human torture, killings, illegal goods and services are available to view or purchase on the deep web, making the Deep Web possess the largest black market ever to exist. The creation of the Deep Web was in 1994. Back then it was known as the hidden web. The terms Deep Web and Dark Web came up in 2001. Though, some people believe the origin of the term Deep Web goes back to the early 1990s along with the creation of Onion Routing. No one knows exactly how big the deep web really is, but we know it is hundreds of times bigger than the Surface Web. The data within the Deep Web isn t necessarily hidden on purpose. Current search engine technology find it very hard to make sense of it, therefore, it makes the sites seem hidden. The Dark Web on the other hand is darker than the Deep Web. Users bury data intentionally on the Dark Web. The Dark Web requires a special browser to access some of parts of it. The browser you would use to
  • 4. The Four Main Types Of Radiological And Nuclear Terrorism Describe the four main types of radiological and nuclear terrorism (25 points). The four main types of radiological and nuclear terrorism are Chemical, Biological, Radiological and nuclear (CBRN) attacks. These types of attacks can have deadly consequences and significantly impact a country if an attack is carried out. Not only can causality rates be high, but there can also be significant economic consequences as well. Chemical attacks involve the use of chemical agents that are man made gases, liquids, or powders that can have incapacitating or lethal effects on humans. Most chemical weapons fall into five broad categories: blister, nerve, choking, blood, and incapacitating (Forest Howard, 2013). Chemical agents will vary in their degree of potency and volatility. Depending on how volatile or potent the agent is, the stronger the effects of agent will be on humans. Biological weapon attacks involve the intentional release of a pathogen or bio toxin against humans, animals, or plants (Forest Howard, 2013, pg. 113). Similar to chemical attacks, biological attacks can cause, death, illness, and societal disruption. Additionally, these attacks can cause widespread economic damage by poisoning agriculture crops and livestock. Biological attacks can be carried out by dispersing the pathogen through aerosol mechanisms, food and water supplies, and infected animals. A radiological attack is the intentional spreading of radioactive material with the intent to do

Formed about three billion years ago, the diamond may very well be the oldest and most precious item any person can own. The internationally accepted notion that this commodity is one of the most treasurable commodity of them all has led to the public being prepared to pay the prices that are set by a group of companies in an agreement known as a cartel. This essay will evaluate the diamond market on a microeconomic level and discuss how the diamond cartel came about, what has allowed it to operate for decades, as well as how it determines the price of diamonds. In addition, this essay will, by aid of diagrams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the same light, if the price varied vastly between companies, people would be able to purchase from the company that charges less, resulting in people losing their appreciation of the product. A threat to the company came about in the 1950s when diamonds were discovered in Siberia, and although these diamonds were of a somewhat inferior quality to the ones sold the company De Beers, these cheaper diamonds would lead to a decrease in the quantity of De Beers diamonds demanded. Therefore, De Beers bought up almost every diamond from Siberia, meaning that it owned the vast majority of the diamonds of the world. Price fixing and output restriction were the next step to ensure that diamonds do not lose their value to the world. The general law of demand states that the higher the price of a good, the lower the demand. However, the cartel introduced an incentive so that regardless of how high up they decide to push the price of diamonds, there would still be a great demand for them. They developed the marketing strategy of making diamonds synonymous with the idea of love and romance, an idea that is strongly valued by cultures across the globe. As a result, even to present day times, diamonds are considered the ultimate token of love, and any of the other gems of the

  • 11. The Works Of The Opera Billy Budd, The Handsome Sailor There are two possible fates we each face in life. We either forget our mistakes or carry them on our shoulders forever. This burden has evolved into a common theme for operas, novels and other pieces of literature. For instance, Benjamin Britten uses this motif as a threshold for his opera Billy Budd. He explores the hunting troubles of captain Edward Fairfax Vere by setting up a narration on retrospect of the hanging of Billy Budd, the handsome sailor . Inspired by Herman Melvilles novel, the opera became well known. In effect, in 1997 John Dexter directed one of the performances in the Metropolitan Opera. The story begins with captain Vere as an old man who narrates in retrospect the story of Billy Budd on his ship the Indomitable. Billy, the handsome sailor, kills the master at arms, Claggart, and is, therefore, condemned to death by law. Vere decides not to influence Billy s verdict and simply hears out what the other three highly ranked sailors have to say. Despite the captain being against the ruling, Billy has to be hanged in order to follow the laws and avoid mutiny from the ship s crew. The narration proceeds with Billy s waiting for his hanging and the execution itself. By the end of the account, Vere asserts that he has accepted Billy s death. It can be easy to believe this assumption, but nothing could be further from the truth. Captain Vere has not come to terms with this episode of his life, neither should he. Vere is still plagued by this chapter of his

Minister s Black Veil Interpretation Throughout the story of The Minister s Black Veil by Nathaniel Hawthorne, you would be able to find many messages that convey the same as the song, Demons by Imagine Dragons and vice versa. Both the short story and the song teach so much about the greed of the world, how you can t hide from your sins, and how looks can be deceiving. In the song Demons , I believe the lyrics No matter what we breed, We still are made of greed points out a huge problem in this world. No matter how much we have we always want more, making us out to be very greedy. This particular lyric relates to The Minister s Black Veil because the minister s wife leaves him when he refuses to take off the veil. The main aspect of motivation in terms of the self determination theory is intrinsic motivation. The self determination theory can be defined as a highly appropriate conceptual framework from which to study sport persistence and dropout (Calvo, CervellГі, JimГ©nez, Iglesias, Moreno Murcia, 2010). To do this the merger was the ideal option, because along with the Quaker company they are also buying its goodwill and market share. This way they can systematically cater to every possible need of the sports segment right from the choice of drinks to providing snacks. This brings to the role of regulatory bodies, which are created to prevent the dealings between companies, which might prove detrimental to consumers in the long run. They prevent tie ups between companies that would kill competition and also prevent price discrimination. On a final note, acquisitions and mergers have their own positive as well as flip sides. On the positive side smaller firms with fewer resources could continue to thrive in the
  • 30. Examples Of Refusal In Antigone A refusal is an action with the purpose to deny a request. A denied request usually causes a negative reaction from the requester. A refusal must be calculated and well planned because of this possible outcome. Loudly refusing a king s orders can have the refuser hanged, while secretly disobeying the king s orders can leave the refuser unharmed. Throughout several stories and films, authors have clearly portrayed the countless ways that refusals can be done and the consequences that can be faced. A successful refusal is strategized according to the situation, setting, and audience. The play Antigone clearly shows how a bold and loud refusal ends badly. Antigone believed that her brother deserved a proper burial, so she went against the king s orders and buried him. Even though she was correct, this uncivil act of refusal led Antigone to be put in prison. Even when Antigone was caught, she remained rebellious against the king. When someone refuses to follow what a person of higher power requests, the refuser faces the possibility of consequences that cannot be evaded. For example, a knight that refuses to follow the orders of royalty may face prison time, or even death. A loud and bold refusal by a king will usually be accepted because of the respect that the king has from society. Meanwhile, a stealthy and secret refusal should typically come from a person of lower power in order to avoid consequences. If a target is misguided due to deception, the refuser will never get caught, and could also have the opportunity of to benefit from the requester. For example, if a poor woman successfully seduces a rich man that she hates, she will most likely end up with 50% of the rich man s total assets due to divorce. The poor woman not only refused to be loyal, but tricked the rich man out of half of his

Typically, the exercise level that our pets get during the summer and warmer months drops off drastically when winter hits and the snow starts. There are some easy ways to keep your pet both happy and healthy throughout the winter months. First, getting dogs new toys every winter is always a good idea. A rope or pull toy is a great option because it allows for indoor tug of war. This is a great way for pets to work out their muscles and is a great way for them to let out bent up frustration of being stuck indoors. Toys that allow you to place treats inside them are always a great option as well. This will keep your doghappy and amused for hours, attempting to get the treat out, with this option ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To alleviate any problems with fussy eaters, the Heartgard medication is supplied in the form of a tasty chewable treat. These chewables contain beef to make them appetising to the most reticent tablet taker, but this does mean they are not suitable for dogs with sensitivities to beef. For those delicate pooches, ordinary Heartgard tablets will need to be bought. Heartgard Plus for dogs contain Ivermectin, which is an effective controller of many parasites. It is used widely for the treatment of a wide range of internal parasites in farm animals and in the treatment of dogs who test positive for full blown heartworm disease. The volume of Ivermectin contained in dog heartworm medicine is so small that it only eliminates heartworm larvae. Heartgard Plus medication does not prevent larval heartworms infecting your dog, it stops them living long enough to cause any problem. The way the heartworm medicine aspect of Heartgard Plus medication works is in a retrospective manner. Each month your dog is given his chewable and the active ingredient slowly destroys all heartworm larvae which have infected the blood during the previous thirty days. Because the drug works backwards, eliminating parasites before they can progress to adulthood, it is crucial that the treatment is given every month. Otherwise larvae deposited in your dog s bloodstream via a mosquito bite can grow and eventually reproduce. Although Ivermectin heartworm medications are good at eliminating larvae which have been in the system longer than a month, their efficiency reduces as the larvae grow. Alongside an extremely reliable heartworm preventative, Heartgard Plus chewables also contain Pyrantel, another parasite controller. This one targets roundworm and hookworms. Using Heartguard Plus for dogs eliminates the need for an additional deworming regime, providing a convenient method of controlling both intestinal worms and heartworms together. For more

The Ford Motor Company s Star Child Essay In 1903, Henry Ford did not know he was about to revolutionize the automobile world when he opened the Ford Motor Company in the suburb of Dearborn Michigan. After opening Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford saw several ways to improve the auto industry through a series of inventions and visions. In 1903 cars were a luxury item, and only the rich and well off were able to afford them. Henry Fordhad a different vision, he saw the potential that the automobile market held, if, he could create an automobile that could be affordable to the everyday American at the time. The everyday Americans were the ones who did not have a lot of money and weren t able to afford the luxuries in life, they were the American s who were just trying to keep ends tied and food on the table for their families. ( Henry Ford Changes the World , 2003) Envisioning a world where cars were affordable for everyone, led to the birth of Ford Motor Companys star child; The Model T. Henry Ford did something that was unheard of in 1903, he created an automobile that was lightweight, able to be operated by anyone with ease, there was no training or special skills needed to operate the Model T, and as an added bonus it had a great fuel economy! The model T got 25 miles to a gallon, but most importantly it was reasonably priced for the everyday American at a whopping $825.00. The price and features of the Model T made Henry Ford one of the most popular men and company in the country and put Ford Motor Company on

It is the kind of thing that happens once in a lifetime, and usually it is not anything big. But those who do have these experiences pertain that belief in the supernatural, and it is these documented experiences that have brought about the study of parapsychology. Is there something to these claims or is it due to mental illusions? Parapsychology is a highly debated branch of science because of the existence of phenomena that cannot be explained, the main argument being in the existence of physics and whether there is something beyond or not. s Parapsychology is the study of supernatural phenomena or more specifically, psychicphenomena. Even the learned expressed interest in these, however, the wide acceptance of these occurrences may have been due to the insufficient education of the general public. After the Enlightenment, which occurred in the 18th century, the existence of deities and magic was more widely contested and doubted, leading to the discrediting of these phenomena as science. One of the first scientists to attempt a scientific study of psychic phenomena was Franz Anton Mesmer in the 1700 s; he experimented with and attempted to patent the mesmerism technique, more commonly known as hypnotism. Even though his method did not achieve scientific recognition, shifting religious beliefs allowed for the widespread Spiritualism movement, which allowed for the use of mediums and the like (Psychicscience.org). Modern parapsychology came about in the 1920 s with the invention of statistical tools and the efforts of a researcher by the name of J.B. Rhine. Rhine had three aims through his experiments: to provide data on parapsychological phenomena rather than to attempt to prove their existence, to achieve scientific recognition and to prove that psychic ability was not limited to certain people and was a part of human psyche all along just waiting to be discovered. Though he was not necessarily successful in his goals, Rhine did change his field in that now psychic study is not limited to individuals with psychic talent, rather a

Microfinance And Small Scale Business Introduction Microfinance are the financial institutions who provide loans or funds to individuals who do not possess the actual documents which can be submitted to banks to seek /borrow loans. These individuals can be entrepreneurs and small scale business owners. Microfinance institutions mostly function in developing countries when compared to developed countries. They are almost similar to banks with regards to the nature of functioning, for instance, they fund people who would like to start a poultry business (farmers), transportation and restaurants. The functions as mentioned earlier are similar to the banking institutions, however, the range of transactions are in small scale. The transactions mostly happen with few hundreds of dollars. The money borrowed are often used to buy the tools and necessary items to start with construction in case of a new small business or for reconstruction in case of an established trader. The main purpose of these small entrepreneurs is to support their families and the run their business to get themselves out of poverty. Microfinance institutions lends loan on short term basis where the borrower is expected to pay their loan within 6 months to 1 year. Hence these institutions do not require much documents prior to approve the loans, as it can be seen with most banks. What kind of innovation is microfinance today? The Maribyrnong River Bank There are places in the west that we pass daily which seem forever destined to remain a mystery or curiosity like the cluttered yellow barbershop on Williamstown road, the Museum of Printing on Geelong Road, or even the old Greek op shop in Spotswood but Footscray s Heavenly Queen Temple need not be a mystery any longer. Most recognisable for its 50 foot gold statue overlooking the Maribyrnong River which is visible from trains on the Sydenham line, The Westsider recently visited for the birthday celebrations of the royal deity herself, and was given the grand tour (and a tasty pork bun) by Society President Mr William Tsang. The Maribyrnong River bank began its transformation into Australia s largest Chinese temple with the acquisition of the unused land wedged between the river and the railway line previously designated a 100 year flood area, meaning no building could be undertaken for fear of potential flood damage. With the land raising project complete, the foundations were in place for the current temple and grand entrance gate, with the complex awaiting completion of left and right wing buildings, plus an additional temple at the rear over the coming years. To its worshippers, the temple is a celebration of the goddess Mazu the protector of sea travellers but it also stands as a testament to the resilience of the Chinese people who journeyed to Footscray and surrounds via troubled Vietnam in the 1970s and 80s. It is also home to four other deities

When it does, asteroid mining will have numerous effects on the global economy. To begin with, the development of the asteroid mining industry will lead to a massive surplus of PGMs. A near Earth asteroid, 3554 Amun is an M type asteroid. That means it is at least partially known to be made of metal. At a relatively small size of 2.48 Kilometers, 3554 Amun is estimated to contain eight trillion USD worth of platinum, six trillion USD worth of iron and nickel, and six trillion USD worth of cobalt, for a value of around twenty two trillion USD worth of metals (Lewis 1). Even though 3554 Amun has the enough value to wipe the U.S. National debt clean, the monetary value is not what is important. The quantity of metals is what is important. Here on earth, PGMs are very difficult to obtain, because they are found in small deposits at a time, and must then be processed into metals. Asteroids like 3554 Amun are saturated with PGMs, and contain more precious metals that have ever been excavated in history, and perhaps more than could ever be excavated from earth s upper crust (Whitehouse 1). Therefore in wall bounded flows it is important to not only understand how energy is transferred across various sizes of eddies at a given geometric location but to also understand the interaction of various sizes of eddies at various distances from the wall. INNER AND OUTER REGIONS Wall bounded flow can be divided into two main regions: inner and outer regions. The inner region can be further broken into three different layers, starting from the wall upwards: Viscous Sublayer: This is the region that is closest to the wall. Turbulent motions in the region are affected by friction and possess relatively low Reynolds number. Viscosity is dominant in this region and it ranges aroundгЂ– yгЂ—^+≤5. In this sublayer shear stress is negligible to viscous shear stress hence the momentum equation becomes a linear equation. гЂ–duгЂ—^+/гЂ–dyгЂ—^+ =1 Therefore, u^+= y^+ Buffer Layer: It ranges from 5≤ y^+ ≤30 . In this range both viscosity and inertial forces are effective here. Neither of both laws works well in this region with the largest variation from either laws occurring atгЂ– yгЂ—^+=11. That is before 11 wall units the linear approximation u^+= y^+ is more accurate and after 11 wall units the logarithmic approximation f(y^+ )= 1/k lnвЃЎгЂ–y^+ гЂ—+B should be used. Near Wall

  • 40. Leonardo Da Vinci And The Renaissance Roughly between the times of the 14th and 17th centuries a cultural movement called the Renaissance existed. The Renaissance housed some of the greatest intellects, such as Leonardo da Vinci, and a radically different way of thinking emerged. Humanism developed largely and rapidly among this time, and was greatly influenced by a man named Desiderius Erasmus (1466 1536). Erasmus, a Dutchman, originally lived among monasteries where he developed many opposing views during his years of service. In the midst of the Renaissance, around the 16th century, the Reformation movement began to splinter the faiths of Europe. Some say that Erasmus bridged the ideals of the Renaissance and Reformation movements. Among his many contributions to the humanist drive, he wrote many colloquies originally intended for teaching Latin to school children, which doubled as underlying preaching of Erasmus s ideals. A collection of a variety of these stories entitled the Ten Colloquies written by Erasmus shows specific examples of the tethering of Renaissance to the Reformation largely on the theme of ad fontes. One of Erasmus known standards was the importance of going back to the sources. During the Renaissance, born in Florence, this was very common thought, as it was a period of admiration of early Greek and Roman culture, intellect, and art. This began to pave some of the ways of many reformers mainly as they begin to question the practices of the Catholic Church. Many began to question where

When precipitation is caught up in clouds, potent gasses are capable of polluting the rainwater causing it to become extremely acidic. One of the most common acids that is absorbed into the rainis sulfur trioxide. This acid is produced from the vast amount of human activity on our earth. Nitrogen and sulfur are two main airborne elements that cause this dangerous precipitation of acids. The scientific study of acid rain has brought researchers to believe that sixty five to seventy percent of acid rain formation is caused by sulfur dioxide. Various kinds of nitrogen oxides cause the remaining percentage of acid rain occurrences. With the amount of emissions released into the ozone, acid rain is becoming more and more of a problem for our environment. When these pollutions react with rain, they form a dangerous product that can damage forests and soil. This in turn makes the soil infertile, ruining our land. Power plants and other large industries are releasing a harmful amount of SO2 in the atmosphere. These excess oxides that are interacting with rain have to be cut down in order to start reducing the amount of acid rain fall annually. When this acidic solution falls on areas with sea life and vegetation, it is found to kill fish, larva, insects, plants, and many other organism.
