Activity 2How effective is your main product to your ancillary task? One of the main themes we decided to use for our ancillary task  and the video was the use of the shoes as we thought this would tie in nicely with the music and lyrics. In my music video the opening sequence is shots of the different shoes and outfits, the camera was placed on the ground when filming in order to emphasise  the main article; the shoes. I also decided to use the image of the shoes for my album cover and for the back of the album as this linked everything together, therefore making it more easier for the consumer to identify whom album it is or whose music video is showing. The particular image I decided to use of the shoes I found to be fun and appealed to and more of a younger audience, furthermore the shot is 'girly' I feel that the shoes were an appropriate symbol for the target audience.  In order for my media products to be recognised easily I decided to use the same images for the magazine advert as the ones I used on the album cover. This helps consumers notice the band easier and can associate  The inside right of the ancillary task has an automatic connection with the music video as its loud, eye catching and stands out, this mirrors the message of the music video and the way I have decided to edit it in order for it to fit more of the target audience. I decided to use the colour red as the background colour for the album as this tied in well with the bands name, as cherries are red.  The Digipack represents the bands style and genre of music, pop is meant to be fun, colourful and in this case girly. The digipack also captures the atmosphere which is given off by the video as it is a feel good song, or a song you can get dressed to before going out.  I used different style fonts for nearly everything on the digipack excluding the name of the band as this has to remain standard in order for the consumers to recognise it. I decided to use different fonts as this would be more fun and attract the eye more as the digipack had different things going on. I used white constantly as well as black in order to keep it simple in some sense but for the title of the album I decided to use green as it illustrates the colour of envy. Both my ancillary task and music video  strongly represent what a typical pop artist would put out on the market today, the target audience has been directly targeted with the use of colours and fun imagery as well as the different costumes in the music video .

  • 1. Activity 2How effective is your main product to your ancillary task? One of the main themes we decided to use for our ancillary task  and the video was the use of the shoes as we thought this would tie in nicely with the music and lyrics. In my music video the opening sequence is shots of the different shoes and outfits, the camera was placed on the ground when filming in order to emphasise  the main article; the shoes. I also decided to use the image of the shoes for my album cover and for the back of the album as this linked everything together, therefore making it more easier for the consumer to identify whom album it is or whose music video is showing. The particular image I decided to use of the shoes I found to be fun and appealed to and more of a younger audience, furthermore the shot is 'girly' I feel that the shoes were an appropriate symbol for the target audience. In order for my media products to be recognised easily I decided to use the same images for the magazine advert as the ones I used on the album cover. This helps consumers notice the band easier and can associate The inside right of the ancillary task has an automatic connection with the music video as its loud, eye catching and stands out, this mirrors the message of the music video and the way I have decided to edit it in order for it to fit more of the target audience. I decided to use the colour red as the background colour for the album as this tied in well with the bands name, as cherries are red. The Digipack represents the bands style and genre of music, pop is meant to be fun, colourful and in this case girly. The digipack also captures the atmosphere which is given off by the video as it is a feel good song, or a song you can get dressed to before going out. I used different style fonts for nearly everything on the digipack excluding the name of the band as this has to remain standard in order for the consumers to recognise it. I decided to use different fonts as this would be more fun and attract the eye more as the digipack had different things going on. I used white constantly as well as black in order to keep it simple in some sense but for the title of the album I decided to use green as it illustrates the colour of envy. Both my ancillary task and music video strongly represent what a typical pop artist would put out on the market today, the target audience has been directly targeted with the use of colours and fun imagery as well as the different costumes in the music video .
