2. Music fans often use music to help them construct their own cultural and visual identity. How do fans of your artist do this? The target audience I have described are likely to create an ‘rich girl’ image as those seen in reality TV programmes such as ‘The Hills’ or ‘Jersey Shore.’ They love fashion and expensive designer materials although I believe fans lifestyles will be less glamorous and less expensive.
3. What function does this kind of music serve to it’s audience (uses and gratifications)? The song is a feel good song where one of the target audience might play it when getting ready to go out or may use it at one of their parties. The song also is also up beat and has a fast tempo so could also be used for fashion events held by the target audience.
4. How would you describe the tastes of the target audience? Thinking stereo typically I would image the target audience to be very girly and like boy bands and girl bands such as Girls Aloud, JLS and also artists like Justin Bieber. The younger group of the target audience I would also imagine to like programmes such as High School Musical and Glee whilst the older target audience will like shows such as Big Brother, 90210 and The City.
5. What is the core audience? Is there a secondary core audience? The core audience for this song would have to be young girls aged 11-17 who are into fashion and looking good as well as like having make-up put on them and get dressed for eventful parties or events.
