Intrusion Detection in A Smart Forest-Fire Early Warning Sensory SystemRatul Alahy
Incorporating an Intrusion Detection System(IDS) for a wireless sensor network (WSN) is one of the efficient moves to detect early intrusion to protect the integrity of the system. Machine learning Neural networks makes the intrusion detection task in WSN much easier by analyzing the data collected from sensor nodes(temperature, light, sound, and smoke). However, maintaining security and preventing intrusion in such approach remains a challenge. In this paper, we propose a Smart Intrusion Detection System (SIDS) which will be trained and tested using neural network approaches. The SIDS will be evaluated using parameters such as accuracy, timeliness, and trusted neighbor nodes, and the result is obtained for intrusion scenario using neural networks algorithms.

Secure And Efficient Defense Strategy Against Energy Exhausting Attacks In Wsnijcnes
One of the most critical concerns in WSN design is security and energy-efficiency problem and the wireless sensor networks is resilience against malicious attacks. Since energy is the most precious resource for these networks, Denial of sleep attacks is recognized as one of the most serious threats. Such attacks exhaust power supply of sensor nodes and can reduce the sensor lifetime from years to days. Authentication and encryption solutions have been proposed to protect the network from denial of sleep attacks. Though, the resources constraint motivates the use of simpler solutions to the same security challenges. In this paper, we survey different types of denial of sleep attacks and we propose a cross layer energy efficient security mechanism to protect the network from these attacks. The cross layer interaction between network Mac and physical layers is mainly exploited to identify the intruders nodes and prevent sensor nodes from energy exhaust attacks. Simulation results indicate that our proposal is energy efficient and can significantly reduce the effect of denial of sleep attacks.

AN ANTI-CLONE ATTACK KEY MANAGEMENT SCHEME FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKScsandit
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are subject to various kinds of attacks such as replaying of
messages, battery exhausting, and nodes compromising. While most of these attacks can be
dealt with through cryptographic security protocols provided by key management schemes,
there are always a few that manage to really cause problems. One such attack that is most
common and significant in WSNs is cloning attack. In clone attack, the intruder tries to capture
and compromise some nodes and inject them into several locations throughout the network in
order to conduct other types of attacks. Moreover, if this attack is not detected early, then these
replicated injected nodes will consume a large amount of the network resources. In this paper,
we analyze several key management schemes that can be used for checking integrity and
preventing cloning attacks. After analyzing the problems associated with these schemes, we
propose a model that allows us to distinguish between legitimate nodes and cloned nodes in
such sensor networks.
IMPLEMENTATION OF SECURITY PROTOCOL FOR WIRELESS SENSORijcsa
Intrusion Detection is one of the methods of defending against these attacks. In the proposed a security protocol for homogeneous wireless sensor network; network with all nodes are of same type. Clustering is used to improve the energy efficiency. Zone-Based Cluster Protocol (ZBCA) is used for selection of cluster head which is effective in scalability and energy consumption. Single hop technique is used for
communication within normal nodes and cluster head to base station. Simulation of proposed algorithm is performed in MATLAB. Sleep Deprivation Attack has been analyzed where attacker changes the environmental values by an artificial event. Attacker produces an event in environment due to which nodes have to sense the environment more than once in the same round that increase the power consumption of
the node. This interrupt reduces the network life time as nodes are not allowed to go in sleep mode and they are not able to perform their function of data collection and reporting to Cluster head and Base Station properly. Proposed protocol identifies this attack and prevents it from happening by solating the attacker node.
An Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets Implementation for Key Distribution in Hybrid Me...IJAAS Team
WSN is a way of handling dangerous and hostile environments safely. It replaces human existence with nodes and units that could sustain its existence under extreme circumstances. The significance of WSN arises from the importance of the data gathered through its nodes. Due to the fact of WSN that it is open air environment, security issues must be considered, for example authentication of new units and the encryption of data transmitted between these units. This research provides a new model covering two important aspects in WSN. The first aspect is the creation of the key that will be used for the current session between a pair of nodes. In this step the research introduces the intuitionistic fuzzy sets to handle the WSN criteria simultaneously and efficiently, in order to decide the exact key length required depending on the status of the network parameters. The second aspect is the distribution of the key between the units desiring communications. This phase starts by authenticating each entity to each other and to the cluster head, then one unit suggests a key and the other one confirms. It then starts communication using that key. This phase shows the hybrid cryptography applied in which the algorithm uses asymmetric encryption for authentication then uses symmetric encryption to secure the connection between the two units. Experimental results in this research could categorized also into two classes. The first class is key size model in which the proposed model compared to ordinary KNN and fuzzy model related to the determination of the key size. The proposed model shows an overall efficient way relating to decide the key size. The second class of experiments is to distribute the intermediate key efficiently; at this point the proposed model shows resilience and efficiency compared to distributing the key directly through cluster head.

Next generation network will consist of different types of wireless networks like WSN, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, UMTS, LTE and etc. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) finds unique and special application as compared to the said networks because sensors are deployed in a very secret, awkward and hostile environment like battle field etc. Various wireless sensor nodes are interconnected and form a Wireless Sensor Network. Sensor nodes once deployed in a region, can’t be repaired thus the power system deployed in the nodes becomes a major key issue i.e. how long its battery life can be utilised. Another major issue of WSN is to have a more secured network which is a function of hash keys. Increase usage of hash key means enhanced security but at the cost of power and area. Sensor systems must utilize the minimal possible energy while operating over secured and wide range of operating scenarios. In this paper, we have proposed a novel ID matching mechanism that uses a Bloom filter to realize wake-up wireless communication. Paper uses hash function for uniquely recognizing particular sensor- node- cluster among all clusters. Paper also shows the effect of number of hash functions on performance of wireless sensor node. The design and implementation of a wireless wake-up receiver module simulation reveals
that proposed model consume 724nW dynamic power and with bloom filter, the proposed model consumes dynamic power 85% less than the consumption cited in “Takiguchi” model[1]. Dynamic power is further reduced by 10% when parallel processing is implemented. Finally paper provides a novel approach to save the dynamic power and subsequently increases the battery life of wireless sensor node and network as a whole.
Nowadays, managing for optimal security to wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has emerged as an active research area. The challenging topics in this active research involve various issues such as energy consumption, routing algorithms, selection of sensors location according to a given premise, robustness, and efficiency. Despite the open problems in WSNs, already a high number of applications available show the activeness of emerging research in this area. Through this paper, authors propose an alternative routing algorithmic approach that accelerate the existing algorithms in sense to develop a power-efficient crypto system to provide the desired level of security on a smaller footprint, while maintaining real-time performance and mapping them to customized hardware. To achieve this goal, the algorithms have been first analyzed and then profiled to recognize their computational structure that is to be mapped into hardware accelerators in platform of reconfigurable computing devices. An intensive set of experiments have been conducted and the obtained results show that the performance of the proposed architecture based on algorithms implementation outperforms the software implementation running on contemporary CPU in terms of the power consumption and throughput.
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a promising field for research. As the use of this field increases, it is
required to give proper security to this field. So to ensure the security of communication of data or messages and to
control the use of data in WSN is of great importance. As sensor networks interact with responsive data and operate
in unfriendly unattended area, from the time of system design these security concerns should be addressed. The paper,
presents a modified Motesec security protocol which is a security mechanism for Wireless sensor network. In this
protocol a hash function based approach is used to detect replay attacks. For data access control key lock matching
method i.e. memory data access control policy is used to prevent unauthorized data access. Encoding and
reconstruction scheme is used to find out attacker. Flooding attack detection by comparing data rate. There is currently

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) is tending towards becoming a complete solution in communication protocols, embedded systems and low-power implementations. However, the resource constraints which includes, limited communication range, limited energy, limited computing power, limited bandwidth and the fear of intruders have limited the WSN applications. Since lightweight computational nodes that are currently being used in WSN pose particular challenge for many security applications, the whole research therefore, is the investigation of new security techniques and appropriate implementation for WSN nodes, including various trade-offs such as implementation complexity, power dissipation, security flexibility and scalability. The goal of this research is to develop a network that has efficient and flexible key distribution scheme secured enough to prevent algorithmic complexity and denial of service attacks as well as the network able to conserve energy. A review of previous research to date in the area of security for WSNs was carried out and proposals are made based on security schemes that gather data in
an energy-efficient mechanism through secured pre-allocation of keys, faster clustering routing algorithm and dynamic based rekeying implementation.

The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

1. A Secure Scheme Against Power Exhausting Attacks in Hierarchical Wireless
Sensor Networks
Security and energy efficiency are critical concerns in wireless sensor network (WSN) design.
This paper aims to develop an energy-efficient secure scheme against power exhausting attacks,
especially the denial-of-sleep attacks, which can shorten the lifetime of WSNs rapidly. Although
various media access control (MAC) protocols have been proposed to save the power and extend
the lifetime of WSNs, the existing designs of MAC protocol are insufficient to protect the WSNs
from denial-of-sleep attacks in MAC layer. This is attributed to the fact that the well-known
security mechanisms usually awake the sensor nodes before these nodes are allowed to execute
the security processes. Therefore, the practical design is to simplify the authenticating process in
order to reduce the energy consumption of sensor nodes and enhance the performance of the
MAC protocol in countering the power exhausting attacks. This paper proposes a cross-layer
design of secure scheme integrating the MAC protocol. The analyses show that the proposed
scheme can counter the replay attack and forge attack in an energy-efficient way. The detailed
analysis of energy distribution shows a reasonable decision rule of coordination between energy
conservation and security requirements for WSNs.
