The paper introduces the Virtual Energy-Based Encryption and Keying (VEBEK) scheme for wireless sensor networks, designed to enhance security while minimizing energy consumption via a dynamic key management process. VEBEK reduces communication overhead by using one-time dynamic keys based on the sensor's virtual energy and avoids rekeying messages, thus improving energy efficiency by 60-100% compared to existing schemes. The framework is adaptable for military and other applications where stealth and reliability of communication are crucial.
