3. ABSTRACT
This research study discusses the effects of carabao
manure to the growth and yield of okra
(Abelmoschus esculentus) in the municipality of
Baleno. This study was conducted from April to
May at the municipality of Baleno. Organic
fertilizer in the form of carabao manure is being
applied to the okra. Result show that carabao
manure has the fastest mean in terms of average
blooming. Results showed that other manure
variety significantly differ in terms of the plant
height, growth and yield over carabao manure.
5. Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) (L)
Moench belongs to the family malvacea
and is indigineous T tropical Africa. Okra
is believed to have originated in tropical
Africa due to its tolerance to heat
(PURSEGLOV, 2000). Most vegetable
crops return small amount of crop residue
to the soil, manure, compost, and other
organic amendments help maintain soil
organic matter levels.
6. Root decaying diseases, which result in the
death of the young seedlings, are the most
serious disesase problems in this crop.
7. Researchers aims to find answer to the
following questions:
*What is the importance of carabao manure on
okra?
*Why did you choose carabao manure instead
of other organic fertilizer?
*What is the difference between organic and
inorganic fertilizer?
*What are the benefits and the purpose of
carabao manure?
8. This research is highly important, it will benefit
not only the students but also the school and
other people who use carabao manure to
their plant okra. The study involved a sample
of few farmers in the municipality of Baleno,
which may be viewed that they use carabao
manure on their plant okra, with the help for
the growth and yield.

(Abelmoschus esculentus) is one of the
important vegetables crop having dietary
value with medicinal and industrial
importance.
11. Chandha, 2002. Characteristics and origin of okra
(Abelmoschus esculentus) (L) also known as
Lady`s finger is a common vegetable crop grown
under tropical and subtropical conditions. It
possesses hogh nutritive value, which is higher
than tomatoes, eggplant and the most cucurbits
except bitter gourds (Berry et., al 2009). Apart
from its nutritive value matured fruits and stems
containing crude fiber are used in paper industry.
Mucilaginous extracts of the green stem are
commonly employed for clarifying sugarcane
juice (Gopalan et., al, 2007).
12. LOCAL LITERATURE
Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L Moench) is
also known as Saluyot a bunga (Ilocano) and
Kaluyot (Ifugao). Okra is grown in 3,138 ha
(Bureau of Agricultural Statistics 2005) all
over the country. The country is also growing
okra for export to Japan in about 200 ha,
mainly inTarlac. I. 2006, the estimated export
value is US$ 7M at an average export price of
US$ 11-12/ box of 4kg net weight.
13. Here in the Philippines, there is a growing
interest in okra cultivation. About 300
hectares have been planted to okra and three
companies are in the business of exporting
this crop (BAS, 1998). Hence, local sources
are abundant within easy reach, Since there is
no available data on the composition of local
okra seed, it is the aim of this research work.
15. The researchers presented in this chapter is the
detailed procedures as to the conduct of the
study which includes the discussion of
method use, research design, rsearch
instruments used, respondents of the study,
data gathering procedure and statistical
treatment method.
16. The method we use in this study was collecting
data by survey questionnaires and
interviewing the respondents of this study
which are the 20 okra raisers who use carabao
manure in the municipality of Baleno.
17. The researchers used descriptive survey
method which involves exploring
information, numerical data to gain insights,
most often taking form of a box in a survey to
know their respective answers. From the total
population of 20 households gardens, and 20
respondents were selected using the sloven`s
formula.
18. The researchers used a survey-checklist
questionnaires as the main total in collecting
data to get the appropriate data needed.
The respondents of this study were the 20
households gardens and 20 respondents
around in the munucipality of Baleno.
19. This study includes not only seeking answers or
information but also asking permission to the
every households that have a plant okra that
uses carabao manure for the approval of
conducting research interviews in the
municipality of Baleno.
The statistical treatment applied in this study
was the percentage and the frequency, this
tool was used to get the frequency and the
percentage of the respondents answers and
to calculate the respondents answers.

32. After evaluation the data and completing the
research, the researchers finds out that the
carabao manure is very helpful on okra in
their growth and yield. Most of the
respondents are satisfied and very happy
saying that with the use of carabao manure,
their plant okra is growing well and healthy.
33. After conducting the research about the effects
of carabao manure on the growth and yield of
okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) in the
municipality of Baleno, the researchers
conclude that carabao manure is very helpful
to plant okra and the vegetables of it is very
healthy. The result of this study help the
gardeners or farmers express their gratitude
by recommending the use of carabao manure
on their plants.
34. Okra is an important commodity crop for the
country. The purpose of this study is to learn
about the effects of carabao manure on okra
growth and yield through respondents.
Thnkfully, the students discovered that by
the use of carabao manure, their plant okra`s
is growing bigger and healthier.The
researchers urged the continue use of
carabao manure not only in okra but also to
the other plants they have in their gardens or
farms.
