The video coding standards are being developed to satisfy the requirements of applications for
various purposes, better picture quality, higher coding efficiency, and more error robustness.
The new international video coding standard H.264 /AVC aims at having significant
improvements in coding efficiency, and error robustness in comparison with the previous
standards such as MPEG-2, H261, H263,and H264. Video stream needs to be processed from
several steps in order to encode and decode the video such that it is compressed efficiently with
available limited resources of hardware and software. All advantages and disadvantages of
available algorithms should be known to implement a codec to accomplish final requirement.
The purpose of this project is to implement all basic building blocks of H.264 video encoder and
decoder. The significance of the project is the inclusion of all components required to encode
and decode a video in MatLab .

evaluation. Moreover, this work studies the effect of frame rate and resolution on the encoders’
performance. The extensive number of experiments are conducted with similar encoding configurations for
the three studied encoders. The evaluation results show that H.265/MPEG-HEVC provides superior bitrate
saving capabilities compared to H.264 and VP9. However, VP9 shows lower encoding time than
H.265/MPEG-HEVC but higher encoding time compared to H.264.

H.264/AVCis currently the most widely adopted video coding standard due to its high compression capability and flexibility. However, compressed videos are highly vulnerable to channel errors which may result in severe quality degradation of a video. This paper presentsa concealment aware Unequal Error Protection (UEP) scheme for H.264 video compression using Reed Solomon (RS) codes. The proposed UEP technique assigns a code rate to each Macroblock (MB) based on the type of concealment and a Concealment Dependent Index (CDI). Two interleaving techniques, namely Frame Level Interleaving (FLI) and Group Level Interleaving (GLI) have also been employed. Finally, prioritised concealment is applied in cases where error correction is beyond the capability of the RS decoder. Simulation results have demonstrated that the proposed framework provides an average gain of 2.96 dB over a scheme that used Equal Error Protection (EEP).

based on both subjective and objective quality metrics. The subjective quality of the compressed video
sequences is evaluated using the Double Stimulus Impairment Scale (DSIS) assessment metric while the
Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) is used for the objective evaluation. An extensive number of
experiments are conducted to study the effect of frame rate and resolution on codecs’ performance for
synthetic videos. The evaluation results show that video codecs respond in different ways to frame rate and
frame resolution change. H.264 shows superior capabilities compared to other codecs. Mean Opinion
Score (MOS) results are shown for various bitrates, frame rates and frame resolutions.
Convolutional encoding with Viterbi decoding is a good forward error correction technique suitable for channels affected by noise degradation. Fangled Viterbi decoders are variants of Viterbi decoder (VD) which decodes quicker and takes less memory with no error detection capability. Modified fangled takes it a step further by gaining one bit error correction and detection capability at the cost of doubling the computational complexity and processing time. A new efficient fangled Viterbi algorithm is proposed in this paper with less complexity and processing time along with 2 bit error correction capabilities. For 1 bit error correction for 14 bit input data, when compared with Modified fangled Viterbi decoder, computational complexity has come down by 36-43% and processing delay was halved. For a 2 bit error correction, when compared with Modified fangled decoder computational complexity decreased by 22-36%.

Robust Video Watermarking Scheme Based on Intra-Coding Process in MPEG-2 Style IJECEIAES
The proposed scheme implemented a semi blind digital watermarking method for video exploiting MPEG-2 standard. The watermark is inserted into selected high frequency coefficients of plain types of discrete cosine transform blocks instead of edge and texture blocks during intra coding process. The selection is essential because the error in such type of blocks is less sensitive to human eyes as compared to other categories of blocks. Therefore, the perceptibility of watermarked video does not degraded sharply. Visual quality is also maintained as motion vectors used for generating the motion compensated images are untouched during the entire watermarking process. Experimental results revealed that the scheme is not only robust to re-compression attack, spatial synchronization attacks like cropping, rotation but also strong to temporal synchronization attacks like frame inserting, deleting, swapping and averaging. The superiority of the anticipated method is obtaining the best sturdiness results contrast to the recently delivered schemes.

Finally, prioritised concealment is applied in cases where error correction is beyond the capability of the RS decoder. Simulation results have demonstrated that the proposed framework provides an average gain of 2.96 dB over a scheme that used Equal Error Protection (EEP).

We evaluate the performance of three state of the art video codecs on synthetic videos. The evaluation is
based on both subjective and objective quality metrics. The subjective quality of the compressed video
sequences is evaluated using the Double Stimulus Impairment Scale (DSIS) assessment metric while the
Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) is used for the objective evaluation. An extensive number of
experiments are conducted to study the effect of frame rate and resolution on codecs’ performance for
synthetic videos. The evaluation results show that video codecs respond in different ways to frame rate and
frame resolution change. H.264 shows superior capabilities compared to other codecs. Mean Opinion
Score (MOS) results are shown for various bitrates, frame rates and frame resolutions.
Convolutional encoding with Viterbi decoding is a good forward error correction technique suitable for channels affected by noise degradation. Fangled Viterbi decoders are variants of Viterbi decoder (VD) which decodes quicker and takes less memory with no error detection capability. Modified fangled takes it a step further by gaining one bit error correction and detection capability at the cost of doubling the computational complexity and processing time. A new efficient fangled Viterbi algorithm is proposed in this paper with less complexity and processing time along with 2 bit error correction capabilities. For 1 bit error correction for 14 bit input data, when compared with Modified fangled Viterbi decoder, computational complexity has come down by 36-43% and processing delay was halved. For a 2 bit error correction, when compared with Modified fangled decoder computational complexity decreased by 22-36%.

Robust Video Watermarking Scheme Based on Intra-Coding Process in MPEG-2 Style IJECEIAES
The proposed scheme implemented a semi blind digital watermarking method for video exploiting MPEG-2 standard. The watermark is inserted into selected high frequency coefficients of plain types of discrete cosine transform blocks instead of edge and texture blocks during intra coding process. The selection is essential because the error in such type of blocks is less sensitive to human eyes as compared to other categories of blocks. Therefore, the perceptibility of watermarked video does not degraded sharply. Visual quality is also maintained as motion vectors used for generating the motion compensated images are untouched during the entire watermarking process. Experimental results revealed that the scheme is not only robust to re-compression attack, spatial synchronization attacks like cropping, rotation but also strong to temporal synchronization attacks like frame inserting, deleting, swapping and averaging. The superiority of the anticipated method is obtaining the best sturdiness results contrast to the recently delivered schemes.

Among the various network protocols that can be
used to stream the video data, RTP over UDP is the best to do
with real time streaming in H.264 based video streams. Videos
transmitted over a communication channel are highly prone
to errors; it can become critical when UDP is used. In such
cases real time error concealment becomes an important
aspect. A subclass of the error concealment is the motion
vector recovery which is used to conceal errors at the decoder
side. Lagrange Interpolation is the fastest and a popular
technique for the motion vector recovery. This paper proposes
a new system architecture which enables the RTP-UDP based
real time video streaming as well as the Lagrange
interpolation based real time motion vector recovery in H.264
coded video streams. A completely open source H.264 video
codec called FFmpeg is chosen to implement the proposed
system. Proposed implementation was tested against the
different standard benchmark video sequences and the
quality of the recovered videos was measured at the decoder
side using various quality measurement metrics.
Experimental results show that the real time motion vector
recovery does not introduce any noticeable difference or
latency during display of the recovered video.

Open source standards and specifications within the energy sector can also alleviate challenges associated with data fragmentation, transparency, and accessibility. At the same time, it is crucial to consider privacy and security concerns throughout the development of open source platforms.
This webinar will delve into the motivations behind establishing LF Energy’s Carbon Data Specification Consortium. It will provide an overview of the draft specifications and the ongoing progress made by the respective working groups.
Three primary specifications will be discussed:
-Discovery and client registration, emphasizing transparent processes and secure and private access
-Customer data, centering around customer tariffs, bills, energy usage, and full consumption disclosure
-Power systems data, focusing on grid data, inclusive of transmission and distribution networks, generation, intergrid power flows, and market settlement data

Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. From Natural Language to Structured Solr Queries using LLMsSease
This talk draws on experimentation to enable AI applications with Solr. One important use case is to use AI for better accessibility and discoverability of the data: while User eXperience techniques, lexical search improvements, and data harmonization can take organizations to a good level of accessibility, a structural (or “cognitive” gap) remains between the data user needs and the data producer constraints.
That is where AI – and most importantly, Natural Language Processing and Large Language Model techniques – could make a difference. This natural language, conversational engine could facilitate access and usage of the data leveraging the semantics of any data source.
The objective of the presentation is to propose a technical approach and a way forward to achieve this goal.
The key concept is to enable users to express their search queries in natural language, which the LLM then enriches, interprets, and translates into structured queries based on the Solr index’s metadata.
This approach leverages the LLM’s ability to understand the nuances of natural language and the structure of documents within Apache Solr.
The LLM acts as an intermediary agent, offering a transparent experience to users automatically and potentially uncovering relevant documents that conventional search methods might overlook. The presentation will include the results of this experimental work, lessons learned, best practices, and the scope of future work that should improve the approach and make it production-ready.

available today. Without compromising image quality, an H.264 encoder can reduce the size of a

more than with the MPEG-4 Part 2 standard. This means that much less network bandwidth and
storage space are required for a video file. Or seen another way, much higher video quality can be
achieved for a given bit rate[3].

integer approximate of the discrete cosine transform is used (DCT) for transformation. It uses 4x4
or 8x8 integer transform, and outputs a set of coefficients each of which is a weighted value for a
standard basis pattern. The coefficients are then quantized i.e. each coefficient is divided by an
integer value. Quantization reduces the precision of the transform coefficients according to the
quantization parameter (QP). Typically, the result is a block in which most or all of the
coefficients are zero, with a few non-zero coefficients. Next, the coefficients are encoded into a
bit stream. The video coding process creates a number of parameters that must be encoded to
form a compressed bit stream[4]. These values include:
• Quantized transform coefficients.
• Information to re-create prediction.
• Information about the structure of compressed data and the compression tools used under
encoding.
These parameters are converted into binary codes using variable length coding or arithmetic
coding. Each of these encoding methods produces an efficient, compact binary representation of
the information. The encoded bit stream can now be transmitted or stored.

7. CONCLUSIONS
DisplaysH.264 A major step forward in the field of video compression technology. and provides
techniques which enable better compression efficiency, due to more accurate forecasting
capabilities, as well as improving the ability to minimize errors. It provides new possibilities for
creating video encoders that managed to get high quality video and high frame rates at per second
and higher resolution at bitrates (compared to the preceding criteria), and through the practical
results of the MATLAB simulation was found that data compression during real time up to(70%)
of the video size Original part time implementation 261.89 s and time clk (4ns) and highest value
can be obtained for a reference to the noise up to (45 db) also shown in Figures (eg, Figure 14).

H.264 It is expected to replace other compression standards and methods used today, and form
became H.264 more widely available species in network cameras, video encoders and video
management software, designers of systems at the present time, the network video products
