This document discusses improvements in Viterbi decoding techniques, specifically focusing on an efficient fangled Viterbi decoder that reduces computational complexity and processing time while enabling one and two-bit error correction capabilities. The proposed efficient fangled decoder demonstrates a 36-43% reduction in computational complexity and halved processing delays compared to the modified fangled decoder, which previously had no error detection capability. Overall, the improvements aim to enhance the practicality of Viterbi decoders in noisy channels, making them more robust and efficient.
