NATURAL REGIONS OF THE WORLD
CLIMATE AND NATURAL REGIONS
World Climatic Types and Their Characteristics.
The world climatic types on the basis of temperature are classified into four basic types;
i. HOT CLIMATES
Is the climatic type of the world characterized by mean annual temperature which is over 21ºC and have the following natural vegetation; Equatorial Forests, Monsoon Forest and Tropical Grassland scrub e.g Equatorial, Tropical Desert, Monsoon and Marine areas.
ii.WARM CLIMATES
Is the world’s climatic type whereby no month has the temperature of less than 7ºC and have the following natural vegetation, Evergreen Woodland and Grassland Temperate Forest e.g West Margine and China Type.iii. COOL CLIMATES
Is the world’s climatic type whereby one to five month have temperature below 7ºC and have the following natural vegetation; Temperate Forest, Grasslan

The presentation was based on findings from PISA 2022 results and the webinar helped launch the PISA in Focus ‘Managing screen time: How to protect and equip students against distraction’ https://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/education/managing-screen-time_7c225af4-en and the OECD Education Policy Perspective ‘Students, digital devices and success’ can be found here - https://oe.cd/il/5yV
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
How to Create Map Views in the Odoo 17 ERPCeline George
The map views are useful for providing a geographical representation of data. They allow users to visualize and analyze the data in a more intuitive manner.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
How to Split Bills in the Odoo 17 POS ModuleCeline George
Bills have a main role in point of sale procedure. It will help to track sales, handling payments and giving receipts to customers. Bill splitting also has an important role in POS. For example, If some friends come together for dinner and if they want to divide the bill then it is possible by POS bill splitting. This slide will show how to split bills in odoo 17 POS.

2. The Appalachian Region
Topography: The Appalachian region is made up of many different
mountain ranges. They were formed about 300 000 000 years ago
Vegetation: The Appalachian region was once covered in
coniferous and deciduous tree’s they flourished on the rivers and
plateaus
Climate: The climate of the Appalachian region is affected by two
ocean currents the Labrador current and the gulf stream
Economic Activity: coal is the prime income of the Appalachian
region but as of the 1960-70’s coal’s value has fallen out
Environmental concerns: Mountain top mining is taking the top off
the mountain and putting all the dirt into the valley below
3. Coastal plains
Topography: The Coastal plains are a lowland area that have an
average elevation of just 200 meters above sea level. the area is
mostly flat or gently rolling hills
Vegetation: The soils of the Coastal plains are mainly very sandy the
natural vegetation adapted to the sandy soil
Climate: In the north it is cold and snowy winter and hot summers
the southern portions have a sub-tropical climate with mild warm
winters
Economic Activity: Some of the primary income is made off of
tourism and commercial fishing
Environmental Concerns: as it is a prominent trading route oil spills
are a consistent problem
4. The Great Lakes-St Lawrence
Lowland
Topography: The great lakes have a rolling landscape created
mainly by glaciation
Vegetation: The fertile soils was once heavily treed The great lakes
was once Canada’s largest broad leaf forest
The climate is essentially a humid continental climate it is humid
because of the presents of the great lakes tend to cool the
temperature during the summer
Economic Activity: The prime income of the great lakes is Hunting
and gathering as well as farming crops
Environmental concerns: the pollution from the river is worryingly
spreading to the forest line and polluting the forest’s
5. The Interior Plains
Topography: The US Interior plains are divided into the central
lowlands and the great plains. The Interior is higher in elevation than
the St. Lawrence lowland rising from about 600 to 1500 meters
Vegetation: The Central lowland east of the Mississippi was covered
with mixed deciduous tree’s and scattered evergreens
Climate: The Climate of the interior Is a continental climate affected
by its location
Economic Activity: The interior planes has 2 prime incomes Agriculter
witch is divided into too parts Livestock and crops. They also have a
heavy mining industry
Environmental concerns: Farm pesticides and chemicals seep into
the earth and find their way into the rivers and lakes as well as
heavy foresting
6. The Canadian Shield
Topography: Lots of bare Rocky area’s as well as damned up river’s
caused crazy chaotic flowing rivers
Vegetation: Boreal forests covers most of the shield since evergreens
such as spruce and pine and fir and more suited to thin sandy soil
Climate: The Climate varies throughout the vast area covered by
the Canadian shield the winters become increasingly long and cold
the more north you go the summers become shorter and cooler
Economic Activity: With the huge cache of natural resources the
Canadian shield is a huge industry of lumber and mining as well as
diamond deposits in the north west
Environmental concerns: some of the biggest environmental
concerns are acid rain and the pollution of the great lakes
7. The Western Cordillera
Topography: The Western Cordillera is compromised of new
mountains not yet worn down by erosion they are more than twice
as high as the Appalachian region
Vegetation: The western cordillera vegetation Varies enormously
from one side of the mountains to the other one side is windward
slopes and the other side is tall proud evergreens
Climate: The west coast has a maritime climite although it varies
from north to south the west coast is moist and mild
Economic activity: The Huge timber Industry as well as mining oil
exploration and reservoir activity have increased the environmental
concerns of the western cordillera
8. The Intermountain Region
Topography: In many area’s the streams and river’s of the
intermountain region’s mountains and plateaus never reach the sea
instead they flow into the brackish lakes
Vegetation: Sparse Grassland’s to plants that can survive in semi
desert and desert conditions the higher area’s are covered in pine
forest’s
Climate: The climate of the Intermountain Region is affected by its
location and by its elevation winters can be cool and wet or hot
and dry depending on the region
Economic activity: Lots of people come to the Region as tourists as
there is lots of state parks and other places to visit as well as mining
Enviromental Concerns: Erosion and pollution from the nearby city’s
are the most prime environmental concerns
9. The Arctic
Topography: Most of the Arctic is flat near the ocean but there are
some mountains that were created by folding the ice and making
peaks
Vegetation Moss Small amounts of lichen and Some small shrubs
grown because the environment Is too cold
Climate: The Climate of the arctic is very severe because it is so far
north from the equater
