This document outlines the organization of students into vocabulary groups and schedules reading activities. It divides the class into 5 groups, each with 4 experts on different aspects of the vocabulary words. It then discusses an idiom, plans for the vocabulary groups to discuss words, and schedules practice and official presentations by two newspaper groups. Students are provided instructions for participating in and preparing for the various activities.
Essential questions provide a rich, meaningful way to frame global learning experiences for students. They open doors to inquiry and invite students to truly grapple with the complex issues of the global curriculum. In this session, we will explore what makes a question essential and how to transform a good essential question into a great one. We will closely examine the ISSN Essential Question Matrix – a menu of high quality essential questions addressing 15 globally significant issues across all grade levels and content areas – and explore a variety of specific ways to use them to enhance global learning in our classrooms and schools.

Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) are defined as semi structured group discussions, used to obtain in-depth information (qualitative data - insight) from a group of people about a particular topic.
The focus group discussion yields information about people’s opinions, beliefs, attitudes, and perceptions towards a product, service, concept, advertisement, idea, or packaging.
