This document discusses simulating device driver faults using the KEDR framework. It begins by discussing the importance of fault tolerance for systems requiring high availability and reliability. It then provides background on related work in driver fault recovery. The document describes using KEDR to simulate faults like kmalloc failures and errors in copy_from_user and copy_to_user functions. It demonstrates configuring KEDR to inject faults and observe the effects on a sample kernel module. The document concludes by mentioning future work in improving system reliability during kernel module failures.
DRAM is an important memory of a computer. Microprocessor loads the data
requested by the user into DRAM before processing the data. Hence, DRAM contains
important information in a computer. Recently, researchers discovered that DRAM is
vulnerable to attack that is called Cold boot attack. DRAM contents can be recovered even
after the computer has been powered off for several minutes. The information obtained can
be often use to break the disk encryption system such as File vault. In this paper, we
proposed the methodology which explains the complete process and describe the safeguard
methods. We design a system keeping few things in our mind the accessibility for the user
and Security. This System is defines as a software solution to the cold boot problem. We also
used additional feature to prevent DRAM from the machine replacement. The System is
designed as the procedure to secure the encryption key and prevent the machine from
attack.
DESIGN APPROACH FOR FAULT TOLERANCE IN FPGA ARCHITECTUREVLSICS Design
Failures of nano-metric technologies owing to defects and shrinking process tolerances give rise to significant challenges for IC testing. In recent years the application space of reconfigurable devices has grown to include many platforms with a strong need for fault tolerance. While these systems frequently contain hardware redundancy to allow for continued operation in the presence of operational faults, the need to recover faulty hardware and return it to full functionality quickly and efficiently is great. In addition to providing functional density, FPGAs provide a level of fault tolerance generally not found in mask-programmable devices by including the capability to reconfigure around operational faults in the field. Reliability and process variability are serious issues for FPGAs in the future. With advancement in process technology, the feature size is decreasing which leads to higher defect densities, more sophisticated techniques at increased costs are required to avoid defects. If nano-technology fabrication are applied the yield may go down to zero as avoiding defect during fabrication will not be a feasible option Hence, feature architecture have to be defect tolerant. In regular structure like FPGA, redundancy is commonly used for fault tolerance. In this work we present a solution in which configuration bit-stream of FPGA is modified by a hardware controller that is present on the chip itself. The technique uses redundant device for replacing faulty device and increases the yield.

Trusted Computing intends to make PC platform trustworthy so that a user can have level of trust when
working with it. To build a level of trust TCG gave specification of TPM, as integral part of TCB, for
providing root(s) of trust. Further TCG defined Dynamic Root of Trust Measurement in Trusted Computing
systems in its specification as a technology for measured platform initialization while system is in running
state. The DRTM approach is contrary to Static Root of Trust Measurement where measurements are taken
during boot process. In this study, since this technology was first introduced, we list and discuss upon
publically available open source solutions that either implement DRTM or are applications of these DRTM
based solutions. Further, the challenges faced by the DRTM technology along with observations from
authors are listed.
UVM BASED REUSABLE VERIFICATION IP FOR WISHBONE COMPLIANT SPI MASTER COREVLSICS Design
The System on Chip design industry relies heavily on functional verification to ensure that the designs are bug-free. As design engineers are coming up with increasingly dense chips with much functionality, the functional verification field has advanced to provide modern verification techniques. In this paper, we present verification of a wishbone compliant Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) Master core using a System Verilog based standard verification methodology, the Universal Verification Methodology (UVM). The reason for using UVM factory pattern with parameterized classes is to develop a robust and reusable verification IP. SPI is a full duplex communication protocol used to interface components most likely in embedded systems. We have verified an SPI Master IP core design that is wishbone compliant and compatible with SPI protocol and bus and furnished the results of our verification. We have used QuestaSim for simulation and analysis of waveforms, Integrated Metrics Center, Cadence for coverage analysis. We also propose interesting future directions for this work in developing reliable systems.

A recent presentation I did for a Second stage interview.
I found slightly challenging as Infrastructure testing a new industry for me but I thoroughly enjoyed every stage of the presentation from researching to presenting.
Cloud computing has gained popularity over the years, some organizations are using some form of cloud
computing to enhance their business operations while reducing infrastructure costs and gaining more
agility by deploying applications and making changes to applications easily. Cloud computing systems just
like any other computer system are prone to failure, these failures are due to the distributed and complex
nature of the cloud computing platforms.
Cloud computing systems need to be built for failure to ensure that they continue operating even if the
cloud system has an error. The errors should be masked from the cloud users to ensure that users continue
accessing the cloud services and this intern leads to cloud consumers gaining confidence in the availability
and reliability of cloud services.
In this paper, we propose the use of N-Modular redundancy to design and implement failure-free clouds

SIMULATION-BASED APPLICATION SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT IN TIME-TRIGGERED COMMUNICA...IJSEA
This paper introduces a simulation-based approach for design and test of application software for timetriggered
communication systems. The approach is based on the SIDERA simulation system that supports
the time-triggered real-time protocols TTP and FlexRay. We present a software development platform for
FlexRay based communication systems that provides an implementation of the AUTOSAR standard
interface for communication between host application and FlexRay communication controllers. For
validation, we present an application example in the course of which SIDERA has been deployed for
development and test of software modules for an automotive project in the field of driving dynamics
control.

LDTT : A Low Level Driver Unit Testing Tool ijseajournal
In the Linux kernel, SCSI storage drivers are maintained as three different levels. Since Low Level Drivers (LLDs) are hardware specific, they are predominantly developed by hardware vendors only. Thus, LLDs are highly error prone compared to other parts of the SCSI stack. While a few tools exist to test upper and middle levels, there is no tool available to assist developers in verifying the functionality of LLDs at the
unit level.
We develop a framework for LLD developers for testing code at the function and unit level. The framework, LDTT is a kernel module with a helper application. LDTT allows LLD writers and designers to develop test cases that can interface between the kernel and device levels, which cannot be accessed by
traditional testing frameworks. We demonstrate that LDTT can be used to write test cases for LLDs and that LLD-specific bugs can be detected by these test cases.
Electrically small antennas: The art of miniaturizationEditor IJARCET
We are living in the technological era, were we preferred to have the portable devices rather than unmovable devices. We are isolating our self rom the wires and we are becoming the habitual of wireless world what makes the device portable? I guess physical dimensions (mechanical) of that particular device, but along with this the electrical dimension is of the device is also of great importance. Reducing the physical dimension of the antenna would result in the small antenna but not electrically small antenna. We have different definition for the electrically small antenna but the one which is most appropriate is, where k is the wave number and is equal to and a is the radius of the imaginary sphere circumscribing the maximum dimension of the antenna. As the present day electronic devices progress to diminish in size, technocrats have become increasingly concentrated on electrically small antenna (ESA) designs to reduce the size of the antenna in the overall electronics system. Researchers in many fields, including RF and Microwave, biomedical technology and national intelligence, can benefit from electrically small antennas as long as the performance of the designed ESA meets the system requirement.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
