This document summarizes lessons learned about deploying Dual-Stack Lite (DS-Lite) and supporting customer premises equipment (CPEs) on an IPv6 network. It discusses that DS-Lite works well for DHCPv6/prefix delegation and router advertisement functions with various CPE models tested. However, custom configuration may be needed for IPv6 routing, filtering, and setting the Address Family Translation Router address. The document also reviews DS-Lite deployments by other Internet service providers and compatible CPE models from several vendors.
