Analyzing The Movie Wanted
Wanted! When you hear, or say that term, the visual that may come to mind may be: criminal, old
western movie, or even a comparison to a relationship. But in relation to the movie Wanted it stands
for nothing but a guy that wanted no more in life but to find his purpose. A lot of us in this world
never actually find our purpose in life, we just kind of settle for what we are able to do. We go through
trials and tribulations to find ourselves, and find anything that will make our lives more satisfying,
including putting ourselves in harms way to do it. This film stars Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman,
and James McAvoy, which names all scream a killer movie to me. The theme represented in this
movie is not only deceit and lack of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first theme demonstrated in this movie is Perseverance, which was illustrated in the film by
Wesley, and his determination to go through all the physical test to meet standards of the fraternity.
His whole intention throughout the movie was to prove that he could become more than what he
always has considered himself, which is below average. When Wesley was in training he got beat up
by multiple people in the fraternity, in an attempt to make him physically strong to stand anything. He
learned tasks including fighting, knife work, and also how to curve a bullet. When he was learning to
curve the bullet Sloan, played by Morgan Freeman, states The first time in your life Wesley, you are in
control (Bekmambetov, Wanted ). As he shoots multiple bullets and still pierces the wrong target, Fox
then stands in the middle of him and the target and says, shoot the target (Bekmambetov, Wanted ). As
hesitant as he was, he knew he had to have confidence in himself to complete the task. As he shoots
around Fox, not knowing if the bullet would hit her, he takes his shot and hits the correct target. Sloan
then says Welcome to the fraternity (Bekmambetov, Wanted ). He then knew all his hard work had
paid off! That part of the movie showed strength and perseverance.
Another way both themes, deceit and perseverance, were shown was at the end of the movie when

The Carboxylate Group In Tamiflu
Additional questions:
1. Why would removing the carboxylate groups result in the compound s activity being nullified?
The carboxylate group in Tamiflu provides it with a strong ionic interaction with an arginine residue.
This interaction will hold the drug molecule in place in the binding pocket of the enzyme, allowing it
to elicit an effect. Removal of this group would result in the arginine Tamiflu interaction being
removed, which would result in a poorer affinity for the binding pocket. The Tamiflu molecule will be
far less likely to exhibit good binding and therefore the biological effect of the drug would be
diminished.
2. Identify the binding groups and their optimal alignment with one another, paying particular
attention to the hydrogen bonds. Provide at least one example for each type of interaction.
a. Hydrophobic
The non polar chain attached to the ether in Tamiflu has a non polar interaction with the side chain of
a glutamic acid residue, where the residue fits in between the two side chains of the Tamiflu.
b. Hydrogen bonds
The amide of Tamiflu forms a hydrogen bond with the guanidine group of an arginine residue. The
nitrogen of the guanidine acts as a hydrogen bond donor and the amide of the Tamiflu molecule acts as
a hydrogen bond acceptor.
The NH2 group of the Tamiflu also forms hydrogen bonds with an aspartic acid residue, where NH2 is
the hydrogen bond donor and COO is the hydrogen bond acceptor.
c. Ionic interactions
There is an ionic interaction

The Portrait Statue Augustus Of Prima Porta, Cleopatra
Portraiture is an old art form that dates back to ancient Egypt where it gained popularity five thousand
years before. A portrait is a sculpture, painting, drawing, or engraving of a person that usually only
depicts the head or head and shoulders. Before photography was invented a sculptured, painted, or
drawn portrait was the most common way to document someones appearance. Besides recording a
persons looks portraiture was used to portray the subjects beauty, importance, power, virtue, wealth,
and taste. You can see these ideals reflected in the Augusta of Prima Porta, Cleopatra, and the Parthian
Prince. The portrait statue Augustus of Prima Porta portrays Augustus in battle gear with his hand
raised upward as if he s commanding his troops. Augustus portrait statue is wearing a muscle cuirass

his purpose was to shoot arrows through lovers hearts and make them fall In love. The dolphin was

powerful military leader and conqueror. Like Polykleitos Doryphoros, the empire is portrayed in
youthful, masculine way despite the fact that he was middle aged when the statue was created. This to
Polykleitos work connects Augustus to Ancient Greece s Golden Age. Persian nationalism was
reestablished by then end of the second century. The images placed on Persian coins tell us that
Parthian rulers were wearing their traditional clothing which included pants and a v cut jacket. The
Parthian Prince portrait statue is six foot two inches tall and is cast in hollow bronze, the Parthian

Kimbell
Kimbell describes a typical Sunday Vermonters spend down at the garage. He emphasizes the idea of
welding , fixing , repainting , and digging , In order to stress the importance of building one s life. He
also mentions sighting a gun and trying to charge a battery in the hopes of painting a picture of rugged
individualism, frontier living, and self dependence. Kimbell even highlights the practical necessities
for everyday living and survival by including the smaller pleasures in life such as a
non dairy creamer and a small refrigerator , while representing the specific implements used in
building a life, washers , bolts , and screws , the simple tools needed to create a sturdy foundation.

Kimbell then goes into detail about a Sunday usual who brought everyone pancakes and sausages and

Kimbell soon returns to the primary location, Tom s garage, describing how it is smaller , and how
nobody passes the plate while visiting there, although pretty good advice is sure to be obtained. By
stating this, Kimbell proposes the thought of the church being a bigger, and perhaps more flamboyant

Mr. George Hearing
I attended a hearing on your behalf in the above matter before Judge Burke in Hudson, New York, on
05/17/2017. The claimant was present and represented by attorney Ed DeLauter. Your insured, Robert
George, was present to give testimony.
As you know, this is a controverted claim which we are defending on the grounds the claimant is not
an employee but rather an independent contractor. At the last hearing we took the testimony of the
claimant. The claimant does not speak English and required a Spanish interpreter. The testimony was
quite lengthy and we used up the entire time allowance. The Judge terminated the testimony before we

I had spoken to Mr. George on at least three (3) occasions to review the facts and circumstances of this
case and to prepare him for his testimony. I spoke to him for at least an hour the day before this
hearing, reviewing the outstanding issues and answering questions that he had regarding the case.
At this hearing I had Mr. George testify he operates Robert George Design Group, LTD. That he
knows the claimant and has known him since around 2007. He describes his work as doing
landscaping, outdoor masonry and patio work. He testified he has a subcontractor relationship with the
claimant. He said the claimant s expertise were in such things as roofing, sheet rocking, painting and
equipment maintenance.
Mr. George testified the claimant would work for him a daily rate.
Mr. George first met the claimant in 2007 when the claimant was doing some work for him at his
house. The claimant asked if he could do work for him and Mr. George told the claimant he would
need to have insurance and a tax ID#. The claimant obtained a tax ID# and Mr. George helped him
obtain a policy of liability insurance. A certification of insurance has previously been

Land Surveying During The Civil War
Land Surveying has been around for thousands of years and has an impact on everyday life. From
drawing maps to designing cities with the efficient layouts surveyors effect everybody in one way or
another. Surveying as any profession has had its stars as well. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson,
and Abraham Lincoln were all surveyors before becoming men of power. Of course technology from
their time has advanced and is actually one of the fastest advancing fields in the world. The men who
founded America though, surveyed the country without aerial drones or gps. These men used much
more basic equipment to map America. One of the most famous surveying expeditions is that of the

The Characteristics Of Generation X And Generation
Chapter Two
Introduction Purpose
Motivation is the word derived from the word motive which means, needs, desires, wants or drives
within the individuals. It is the process of stimulating people to action to accomplish the goals. In the
work goal context the psychological factors stimulating the people s behavior can be desire for money,
success, recognition, job satisfaction, teamwork, etc. (Bolles, R. C. 1975.) We have certain needs or
wants these terms will be used interchangeably, and this causes you to do certain thing s behavior,
which satisfy those needs satisfaction, and this can then change which needs/wants are primary either
intensifying certain ones, or allowing you to move on to other ones. People seem to have different
wants. In chapter two we take a look at various characteristics of Generation X and Generation
starting with their backgrounds (Bolles, R. C. 1975).
Review of the Literature
Generation X
Gen Xers learned independence early in life and turned it into a valuable hallmark as they progressed
in the working world. Just as Gen Xers were about to hit the workforce to make their mark in the
world, the economic decline at the end of the 1980s occurred. ( Managing generation X: How to bring
out the best in young talent, 2001) Suddenly the future looked crowded. Competition for jobs was
tight. The American dream had changed. For the first time in history, this generation was being told
that they would not be able to replicate the lifestyles of

Southern Colony Essay
There is a upcoming war with France and we don t know where it will be, so we will need to know
about the New England, Middle, and Southern colonies. Based upon the areas of geography and
climate, resources, political and social life, the Southern colony will prove to be problem in a possible
war with France. The geography of the Southern colony includes the Appalachian Mountains,
Piedmont, the Atlantic Coastal Plain, and has good harbors and rivers for fish and ships. The Southern
colony has a humid climate with mild winters for being outside a lot., hot summers, and long growing
seasons that are perfect for farming. The geography and climate will be an asset, but the hot summers
will be hard to fight during. The natural resources of the Southern colony include fertile land for
farming, rivers for fishing, and deep harbors for easy access to ships. The human resources of the
Southern colony include free farmers and planters for growing crops, enslaved African Americans, and
indentured servants that must work for a while. The specialization of the Southern colony include
tobacco, indigo, corn and rice for eating, lumber used to craft battle ... Show more content on

The social life of the Southern colony has plantations with slave labor which won t be attended during
the war, few cities and schools that have to be attended, and indentured servants which must work for
their employers for a certain period of time. The political and social life may be a problem,
considering that the plantations with slave labor won t be attended. Also, most people will have to
fight in the war, all able bodied men had to be in militia, so most places and plantations might not be
attended. The indentured servants are an asset because they can fight and some can attend to some
places during the war and the few cities and schools that don t require many people need to

Tourism In UK Tourism
To begin with this could be classed as a positivity as the tourism industry sector is still growing
despite the different impact, however this could also be seen as a negative according to the WTTC
findings because it has meant that within the Brexit it includes that immigrants might have to go back
to their own countries. This is showing as since there are mostly foreigners working in the sector like
working in hotels, there is an opening for more vacancies, this could mean less people are able to
effectively give good tourist services. Whilst focusing on how the sector has boosted the UK s
economy in different ways, there are also somethings which could change for UK travellers.
According to express article for tourists who are going on holiday they would need to keep on top of
the Brexit holiday rules, when travelling to Europe , this suggests that the guide book was made to
ensure they understand the rules, when entering a European country but ensuring rules are being kept.
The studies from this article shows that there is a main focus on passport changes, euros and exchange
rates, visas and healthcare, when it comes to the passport the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
describes it as still giving the British people the freedom to travel but having this passport at all times.
Moreover, when looking at the travelling of the industry within the tourism industry, staycation has
been something else which has become popular over the last year or so as a result of

Jetblue s Is Societal Aspects That Are Affected By...
JetBlue s is societal aspects that are affected by external forces as well. I would break it down into
four categories to mainly focus on this societal area. They are listed as follows: Economic,
Technological, Political Legal and Sociocultural. Looking at the economic aspect, the economy has
gotten much better since 2008 2009. There is more income being dispersed around the country. Also,
if you are looking at the current price for oil, that should not be an issue for airlines right now. The
technological aspect shows us how well the ticketing and self service check in are doing. Another
thing that could be helpful is even allowing credit cards to be used on flights for more purchases. The
Internet has become a great tool for our society. It allows us to even search around and find the
cheapest flights around. The political legal aspects that have an effect could be the fear of terrorists. I
know since 9/11, airplanes have been one of the safest ways of transportation with all the rules and
regulations. Another important part that of this aspect is the effect on oil because of certain internal
wars over in the Middle East. Finally, the sociocultural aspect shows us that people have different
opinions on certain topics. For example, I know many people are probably worrying about the Zika
Virus if they are on a plane that has come from a country that is known for having it or if they are
traveling to one of those countries. People want to be updated and know that they are in

The History of Tuberculosis
INTRODUCTION
Tuberculosis also known as Tuber Bacillus is a deadly, infectious disease which primarily impacts on
the lungs which is called pulmonary TB. TB can also impact on the other parts of the body including
the Brain, kidneys and bones which is called non pulmonary TB. The disease of TB is caused in
humans mainly from a bacterium called Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. Mycobacterium Tuberculosis
was first described by Robert Koch as unusual with waxy coating on its cell surface. TB can also
affect the cattle from a bacterium called Mycobacterium Bovis. Evidences show us that Tuberculosis
has been in our society for at least 15,000 years now. We get to know this by the traces of tuberculosis

TREATMENTS
Medication is one of the easiest ways to treat TB. Treating TB takes much longer than other types of
bacterial infections. It usually takes about 6 9 months of continuous use of antibiotics. Patients age,
overall health and drug resistance, type of TB and where infection is located determines which drug is
suitable for the patient.
Treatments for Latent TB
If the patient is suffering from latent TB it means the patient ha mycobacterium Tuberculosis
bacterium in his body, but they are inactivated. To treat TB infection it is most important that the
patient consults their doctor. Most common medicine used for this type of TB is isoniazid (INH. In
most of the cases this medicine would take about 6 months (if taken regularly) to kill all the
inactivated bacterium.
Side effects of Isoniazid
Stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, rash, fever, tingling in the fingers or toes, vomiting and
loss of appetite.
To prevent these side effects the doctor may give the patient pyridoxine (vitamin B6) tablets.
Treatments for TB disease
Pulmonary TB
To treat TB disease doctors usually prescribe a mixture of four antibiotics. These antibiotics are
1. Isoniazid
2. Rifampicin
3. Pyrazinamide
4. Ethambutol
At the beginning of the treatment doctors recommend patients to stay at home so they don t pass this
disease on to other. But

Logarithms Invented
The definition of a logarithm is the exponent of the power to which a base number must be raised to
equal a given number. A question that has been around for ages presents the question of whether a
logarithm is an invention or a discovery. Logarithms are essentially the same as mathematics, so
likewise, the question also queries whether mathematics is an invention or a discovery. The primary
difference between an invention or discovery is the existence of the thing being discussed. If the thing
did not exist before someone brought it into existence, then the thing was invented; however, if the
thing did exist before its existence was known, then it was discovered. In part, logarithms and
mathematics are both invented and discovered. Someone invented their existence and discovered the
facts to support their ideas, as all experiments go. laws of logarithms This abstract mathematical
concept was conceived in the 17th century in order to drastically decrease the amount of time required
for the multiplication of large numbers. The first to publish ideas on this particular subject is a Scottish
mathematician named John Napier in his text Description of the Marvelous Canon of Logarithms in
the year 1614. Years later, a Swiss mathematician named Joost Bürg published his work Arithmetic
and Geometric Progression Tables which directly connected geometric and arithmetic ... Show more

Commentary on Things Fall Apart s Okonkwo and Unoka
My focus will be on the relationship between Unoka and Okonkwo. I chose that topic because it is
interesting to find out how father and son can differ in so many ways.
Eventhough they are directly blood related, Unoka and Okonkwo have a very different characteristic.
Unoka the father was a very lazy and wasteful man, while Okonkwo is everything Unoka was not.
Many people have been asking the same question on this strange matter since they are more familiar
with the saying like father, like son . But Okonkwo is different, since he was a child; he has been
through neglected like situation. He has spent days without food, and received all the teases and jokes
of unoka s incapabilities which were thrown upon him. He then became traumatized of ... Show more

Maybe inwardly the words have meaning in Okonkwo s heart no matter how little it is.
Feelings from Okonkwo towards Unoka were mostly dominated by anger and embarrassment, and
will be presented as my IOP in the form of a poem: (next page)
Why did I choose poem as my media of interpretation is because poem is very expressive, and also
because Okonkwo s unexpressive nature.
The first two stanza of the poem, are contrasting with the third, fourth, and fifth stanza. First and
second stanzas tell us about Okonkwo s childhood period. The mood and atmosphere are dominated
with anger and embarrassment because of Unoka s incapability which makes Okonkwo suffers.

And here by goes the explosion
Nothing happened but code expression.

Women At Point Zero By Nawal El Saadawi
Society looks down on women who are sexually active with more then one man or have sex all the
time. On the flipside of the situation men are prized and put on a high horse for having many sexual
partners. In most societies men ultimately decide what women can and cannot do, which shouldn t be
the case. A woman cannot be liberated or truly happy until she can make choices non sexual or sexual
by herself without the degrading opinions from men in society. In Women at Point Zero, by Nawal EL
Saadawi, Firdaus has never been able to make decisions in her life in any manner, from the sexual
surgery, to being married off to the older man with out her consent. Her first real choice in life was
when Bayoumi asked if she liked tangerine or oranges. When she starts off as a prostitute she sees all
these choices she can make and loves it. However towards the end she realizes that she does not
actually have any choices. The second time in her life she really has any choice is when she is in
prison. Firdaus s first sexual encounter is with a bout named Mohammadain. They play a game called
Bride and Bridegroom, this game involves them taking off their clothes and rubbing against each
other. Firdaus gets a sense of pleasure from it and sadly this will be the last time she will get pleasure
from a sexual activity. The reason for this is her mother catches her and forces her to undergo a
surgery. This surgery is a matter of tradition but Firdaus feels like this tradition is just a way

Redefining The Value Of School By Neil Postman
There are two types of school in this world and that is the schools that are between individuality and
conformity. There are a lot of issues that school focus on that aren t really necessary. Some schools
focus on points likes dress code or testing or discipline. There are other schools that are more carefree
and don t really focus on forring thing except timing. School sometimes may even be thought as
unimportant because the policies are so strict.
Some Schools are so strict that they even want them to act certain ways around people. You have to

Culture can be seen influencing foreign perception of politics in the domestic arena, aiding the spread

the world. In Western countries such as Germany, 41% of young people ranging from the ages 18 to

were astonishing. I stayed in a bungalow styled room separate from the main resort rooms. The
bungalow was located on the beach near the shoreline. The room was huge. In it there was a queen
size bed made of wood and two lounge chairs. The bedding was bright white linen and the cushions on
the lounge chairs were made of the same bright white linen. Large white mosquito net was draped
around the bed. The white bedding, cushions and mosquito net gave the room a nice calm and
romantic feeling. Also, there was a balcony adjacent to the room. The balcony had a white linen sofa
and two end tables made of wood. The view from the balcony was of the beautiful blue oceans and
beach.
The beaches in Negril bore light brown almost beige colored sand. The sand felt like soft little pebbles
between your toes when stepped on. Most of the time mellow calypso or reggae music could be heard

Lego And The Toy Industry
Introduction
LEGO has been in the toy industry since the Great Depression when Danish carpenter Ole Kirk
Kristiansen and his sons began making wooden toys (Bigus, 2011). Showing ingenuitive spirit, after
the end of World War II, LEGO became the first company in Denmark to purchase a plastic injection
molding machine, this was an expensive moving hinging on the risk that plastic toys were the toy of
the future (Bigus, 2011). Soon after the purchase, LEGO expanded its business to include the first
plastic LEGO bricks (Bigus, 2011). Godtfred Kirk Christiansen, one of Kristensen s sons observed
during the toy fair of 1954 a new way to market LEGO as a system of play so that the toys could be
used separately or together to build large projects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the next decade LEGO expanded on licensing rights as well as into the video game segment,
online gaming and social networking contests (Brigus, 2011). LEGO had become a large segmented
company that faced dwindling profits during the years between 1998 and 2004 (Brigus, 2011). The
company had problems with manufacturing and distribution, the management began to notice
inefficiency in these areas and made many changes in order to bring the company back on track to
profitability. These changes allowed LEGO by 2010, to reach all time high annual sales and maintain
private ownership (Brigus, 2011). Since the company s debut into the toy industry the company has
grown to become the fourth largest toy manufacturer in the world with 4,000 employees (Brigus,
2011).
LEGO s Future LEGO users have a strong tradition of innovation. Children and adults alike can spend
hours on creating remarkable feats using the patented LEGO bricks. Sharing these innovations have
become much easier via the internet. In order to collaborate with customers and increase
communication, in 2005 LEGO created the ambassador program to provide a fast and direct way for
the company and fans to connect (Antorini, Muniz, Askildsen, 2012). Through trial and error the

President John F. Kennedy And Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Former President John F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., gave the world two of the most
iconic and historic speech in American history. In January of 1961, John F. Kennedy gave his
infamous Inaugural Address. Not even heavy snow fall could deter JFK s inaugural address. His
mission was to reassure the American citizens their strengths and at the same time, motivate them to

His mission for this iconic speech, was a call for an end to racism in the United States of America.
Thus, this speech was a defining moment in the civil rights movement and was done so, at the Lincoln

movement. He demanded justice for the unjustly. Mainly the people of color. Both men, Dr. King and
Mr. Kennedy, had some what of the same visions of America. Their goals for America in their speech

The Best Kind of Sex Education
There is much controversy over which form of sex education should be taught, comprehensive sex
education, or abstinence only sex education. The definition for comprehensive sex education is
responsible and balanced sexuality education that seeks to assist young people in understanding a
positive view of sexuality, provide them with information and skills about caring for their sexual
health, and help them acquire skills to make decisions now and in the future. It is medically accurate
and provides information about abstinence and contraceptives as tools to prevent unintended
pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. On the other hand, abstinence only sex education is a
form of sex education that teaches abstinence from sex. This type of sex education promotes sexual
abstinence until marriage and avoids discussion of use of contraceptives. Comprehensive sex
education goes against some family morals and encourages teenagers to have sex. But abstinence only
sex education does not teach students enough about sex or how to protect themselves from STDs and
pregnancy. Comprehensive sex education should be mandatory in all of our nation s schools.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, sex education was strongly effected by Victorian values. Sex
education at that time taught that sexually transmitted diseases were the result of punishment for
immoral behaviors. The discussion over what to teach children about sex in school occurred as early
as 1912. In the 1950 s the

Hamlet Human Nature Research Paper
Art is, first and foremost, an imitation of life. Human beings create art, be it visual, literary, or

of humanity in the hopes of garnering some further substance out of life s mundanely.
With this as a broad goal, artistic works tend to revolve around the theme of human nature; revealing,
exposing, and otherwise illustrating the human condition. William Shakespeare s Hamlet is no

Protagonists within art and literature serve as mediums on which audiences can project themselves
onto. This process turns protagonists into heroes , and allows audiences to feel the courageousness,

despite being the protagonist of the work Hamlet, does not exude any of these aforementioned traits.
Hamlet is cowardly, indecisive, and self interested, an overall morally suspect. Hamlet himself

Marijuana Vs Tobacco
Nowadays there is a big dilemma to whether legalize marijuana or not and whether marijuana is really
a lot more dangerous than tobacco. There are big differences between the two of them, but there is,
without any doubt, one that has a lot more negative effects on the human body and the human brain

Analysis Of The Book The Garden
For those who haven t learned the truth of what happened in the garden. It is a crucial teaching to learn
that makes the whole bible come more alive , among other teachings that aren t taught in your average
church
Let s go to Genesis and see what happened in the garden.
Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he
said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
You now know who this serpent is who was more subtle, meaning cunningly wise, than any beast of
the field, which means any other living, created being, human or otherwise! So the PICTURE you
now need to place in your mind is one of a very smart, good looking, handsome young man who is
very, very charming and likeable and intelligent and well spoken. Got it?
That old serpent has perpetuated a lie, a tradition, about the snake and the apple long enough. Do not
let him have the victory any more! Again, it is his diabolical plan to deceive a Biblically ignorant
people, because it ministers to the acceptance of his lie, the hiding of God s truth, the jeers of the
infidel, the opposition of the critics, and the stumbling of the weak in faith. (Companion Bible,
appendix 19, last paragraph.)
By the way, the apostle Paul also refers to this serpent in the garden in 2 Cor. 11:3:
2 Cor. 11:3
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be
corrupted

Essay on Science vs. Religion
Religion versus science, the debates and conflicts have been on for centuries. For both religious and
scientific ideals, the faith people have drives them. In this paper, I will examine the story of The Eye
of Apollo by G.K. Chesterton, and the episode House vs. God of House, M.D., in order to question
this conflict. The main character Father Brown in The Eye of Apollo combines his reasoning with his
religious ideals and beliefs, or we can say his faith in God leads him to the truth of the crime.
However, if we try to have a deeper look at the both the rational and religious sides of Father Brown,
his perspectives on the immortality and justice are similar to Dr House, who interprets his rationality
based on science. Thus both the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Father Brown finally points out the truth that Kalon kills Pauline with his setup based on Miss Stacey
being blind in order to get her money. Miss Pauline s sister, Joan Pauline, is also part of the crime
according to Father Brown, who has also taken advantage of her sister s blindness and played trick on
the will. We can easily find Father Brown s interpretation about truths . People apparently will
recognize him as a rational and religious person who is a skeptic of pure sciences , however, not
necessarily the scientific methodology. Upon learning the new religion mentioned by Flambeau,
Father Brown holds his doubts about the religion of Apollo: he doubts seriously on whether it can cure
the one spiritual disease . Father Brown actually has found Kalon is the murderer before he learns
what is the tragedy. As he says: there came a crash and a scream down the street, and the priest of
Apollo did not start or look around... I know that he was expecting it (The Eye of Apollo). This kind
of distrust as presented by him conveys his skeptical approach to things. Father Brown s skepticism
for and tendency to reject the Apollo religion reflect his belief: the pure science and the new religion
are both considered as superstitions. On the other side, the reasons lying behind the crimes, according
to Father brown, are driven by the inner desires of human, or we can say, it is the devil that made

The War Photo No One Would Publish Analysis
The Limitations of Censorship
In The War Photo No One Would Publish , the author Torie Rose DeGhett depicts the meaning of
censorship. DeGhett proposes that pictures should always be published so the viewers can get the full
effect of what is happening in the world. DeGhett also proposes the idea that it s hard to calculate the
consequences of a photographs absence (DeGhett Page 74). This statement leads to the idea of
censorship causing the argument of whether certain media outlooks should be censored to the public

because they have ethical standards that don t need to be entertained with other people s lives.

Andean Cocaine Essay
Andean Cocaine traces the obscure processes and transformations of the global coca and cocaine
commodity chain. Gootenberg documents the lore of the Andean coca leaf, the birth of cocaine as a
medical commodity, the early twentieth century decline cocaine, and its reemergence as a global illicit
good following World War II. The commodity chain of coca and cocaine began with the extraction of
alkaloidal cocaine from the dried Andean coca leaf. This discovery by German doctoral student Albert
Niemann would soon transform cocaine into a world drug commodity. Initially, cocaine was essential
as a high value medical commodity. Medical uses of cocaine included treatment of opiate addiction,
hay fever, asthma, or other respiratory ailments. Cocaine s greatest medical impact in the United
States was as a local anesthetic during surgery. In Europe, cocaine s commodity chain was defined by
the coca elixir Vin Mariani developed by Corsican physician and chemist Angelo Mariani. Cultivated

Beauty Attracts In The Name Of Attraction Short Story
Indra replied, Beauty attracts. That could be earthly and beyond it.
Gautama continued the debate, It is an infatuation in the name of attraction. What reflects divinity is
the real beauty.
Viswamitra joined in, Beauty not only attracts, it tempts the seekers to own it. His opinion was
probably from his own experience.
Vashistha said, Whatever infatuates is not real beauty. It is a malady instead. It is mere lust and greed.
Indra said, Beauty is a symbol of the divine mystery. Hence, it overwhelms. God tries to test people s
will through infatuation.
Gautama said, Beauty could be the reason for the dissolution of illusion.
Vashistha added, Beauty elevates people above diseases, pain, old age, and death.

Unless Brahma brought an end to the endless discussion time would run out. Hermits were due to
return go back to earth before sunset. Even though Indra was the emperor of gods, he was the
youngest and has eternal youth. He was after luxury and indulgence. He was aggressive and
materialistic. Hence, it was normal that his opinion differed from that of Gautama. Brahma probably
wanted to expose the difference between them in front of all.
Vishnu concluded the meeting with these words. Each experience leads to the appreciation of morality
and nonviolence. That is also the goal of beauty. Without it, there will be ugliness in the name of
beauty. Chaos will be known as the nectar of immortality. The highest level of beauty originates from
a creator with the highest consciousness. It also helps the observer to realize everlasting boundless
beauty. That is the Brahman.
Brahma added, Beauty creates happiness beyond senses. It is spiritual. It is the resolution of questions
related to life, mind, and soul. Even if it depends on earthly materials, beauty is never a material itself.
It not only values but also achieves its primal goal. The expression and realization of beauty are
forever. It suffices to say beauty leads a man towards salvation.
Brahma indirectly supported Gautama over Indra. While both were his students, he always supported
Gautama. Therefore, there was no surprise here. Pratha

Is Sexual Selection Within Male Pharomachrus Mocinno...
Title: Is Sexual Selection In Male Pharomachrus mocinno favoured by Longer Plume Tail Length due
to Increase in Colour?
Introduction:
The Pharomachrus mocinno has evolved many behavioural and physical traits as a result of adaptation
to the current environment and lifestyle it leads, however this proposal will focus on the unusual
plume tail length of the male P. mocinno. This particular species habitat requires nests as high as 22
meters in rotting trees (Seigfried et al. 2010). Therefore, the function of the feathers would typically
be assumed to enhance flight, as that would make sense as a useful function in this scenario due to the
high elevation. Surprisingly, however, the long length of the plume tail actually decreases the speed of
the male bird due to the drag force of air (Norberg 1995) and requires it to drop backward off the
branches before being able to fly forward normally (LaBastille et al. 1972). With such issues with the
long plume tails, would sexual selection really be in this traits favour? In a study done on the
widowbird such was the case; males with longer plumes were mated the most (Andersson 1982).
However, the widowbird is completely black (including its tail), while in the case of Pharomachrus
mocinno it is a very colourful bird. Previous studies also have shown, that the bright reflective colours
on the male s bodies help in attracting females (LaBastille et al. 1972).
Therefore, it s possible that the long length of the P. mocinno male s

`` Twilight `` By Stephanie Meyer
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer has many codes and conventions from the genre that is gothic literature.
Like The Italian by Ann Radcliffe there is a sense of anxiety from the monstrous power of unreality,
and the characters of both Bella and Ellena do not know what is happening around them. A dark
mystery is created throughout the novels, using sinister settings and threatening atmospheres. The idea
of the sublime is shown through the descriptions of Ellena and Bella s surroundings. This put together
with the strange characters they encounter, the sensibility within those characters all work together to
slowly build their fears and introduces the idea of the paternal protector, Edward and his family for

Just like Twilight, The Italian also communicates the anxieties of women the late 18th to early 20th
Century, where middle class women s homes were becoming uncomfortably like a castle or a prison,
with constraints on their education and social developments. This is shown in the way female
characters always end up trapped within gothic text. When Ellena is kidnapped, even though she
faints, it is described differently: All consciousness had now forsaken her (Radcliffe, 61). Also when
she is taken to the house of Spalatro, she faints, but the words in the narrative say that horror chilled
all her frame, and her senses forsook her (Radcliffe, 211). Ellena is always thrust back into the middle
of peril whenever she seems to reach safety. Ellena is able to remain pure yet strong despite what
happens to her; she keeps the Marchesa cleverly controlling, while fearful of her husband finding out
her plans. This slightly takes away from the stereotypical damsel in distress, making her seem less
weaker than usual. She does not tremble with and fear and does not cry at every misfortune very often
but she is also, always, saved and protected creating the role in simultaneously restricting women and
providing them power. The Sublime also contributes to the mystery: obscure sounds, unexplainable
events and dark figures distress and create anxieties within the characters.
The sublime describes the natural

Argumentative Essay On Beauty Pageants
In 1854 instead of judging woman or young girls on their looks, Phineas Taylor Barnum began
judging animals on their looks, this was the first beauty pageant. The first swimsuit competition was
held in 1880 at a festival to bring business however, it soon became a summer tradition . Women from
all around the world became interested in them, wanting to be seen as the perfect woman. Currently,
there are 3 different types of beauty pageants, a glitz pageant consists of the contestants wearing heavy
makeup, crystal decorated clothes and wearing slip on veneers. Another type of pageant is named a
semi glitz pageant which is very similar to the glitz pageant , except contestants are not allowed to
wear any hair pieces or slip on veneers. The third type of pageant is referred to as the natural pageant ,
contestants are permitted to wear natural makeup and will be disqualified if any hair piece or slip on
veneers are worn. Each of these different pageants are taken very seriously by its contestants with the
goal in mind of winning the crown. Many contestants will often make drastic or permanent changes,
forced by their guardian or parent(s) if they think they have a better chance of winning. Beauty
pageants exist only to judge girls based on their looks, which can be extremely damaging, both
physically and emotionally, therefore beauty pageants should be prohibited around the world to help
end the constant discrimination and unreal expectations of women and young girls.

Describe The Relationship Between Russia And The United...
Vladimir Putin is the current president of Russia, he quickly became a dominant leader with his rise to
power. Before he came to power, he initially started out working in local politics and Russian
Intelligence. Putin first started in politics as working for Leningrad s first democratic mayor of the
city. This democratic mayor was Anatoly Sobchak, Putin was not very noticed by the people in the
city, he mostly worked behind the scenes but continued to stay loyal to Sobchak even after he was not
reelected. Putin was known for getting his authoritarian tendencies from Sobchak. When Putin
relocated to Moscow he quickly found a new position from the president of Russia at the time, Boris
Yeltsin, as the leader of the FSB. Yeltsin started as having Putin as the second highest ranking in
Russia, the prime minister, but then eventually, about six months later, Yeltsin stepped down and Putin
was named the president of Russia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was an appropriate policy of Putin s because it allowed for Russia to become known to the world
again after the Soviet Union had fallen. Concerning the relations between Russia and the United States
under Putin, many believe that the relations between these two countries had reached their lowest
point in 2013. This was eventually resolved when Putin went to a United Nations meeting in order to
discuss the anti terrorist policies and what to do in regards to Syria and Ukraine. This helped to
strengthen the relationship between the two countries

One Solution to Global Overfishing Analysis
The first thing that comes to one s mind when fish is mentioned is usually, smelly, nasty, or to some,
delicious. In a nutritional aspect, fish is a top priority in a diet because of the protein that it has. Many
people fish for food, or just for leisure. Overfishing mainly started in the 19th century, when humans
started looking for blubber for oil lamps, which they used for light during the night. When humans
started overfishing for the whale blubber it severely reduced and damaged the whole population of the
sea life. In the fish population, many fish such as the Atlantic cod and herring were overfished to the
point where they almost went extinct by the mid 1900 s. The depletion of the fish population disrupted
the aquatic food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There have been many incidents where innocent lifeguards and individuals have been attacked by
sharks and other dangerous fish while spending time in waters. The overfishing of the shark s prey has
causes this. This is a very dangerous issue as it may take many lives away for nothing.
Another major cause is the subsides provided to fishermen from the government. Despite the depleted
state of the oceans, many governments provide major subsidies to their fishing sectors. According to
The Webster Merriam Dictionary, a subsidy is money that is paid usually by a government to keep the
price of a product or service low or to help a business or organization to continue to function.
Subsidies not only distort markets and support uneconomic activities, but also are a major incentive to
overfishing and other destructive fishing practices. These large subsidies have helped produce a
worldwide fishing fleet that is up to 250 percent larger than what is needed to fish at sustainable levels
(Fisheries Subsidies, Overcapacity and Overfishing, 2008). Some subsidies support beneficial
programs, such as management and research for overfishing. However, the majority of subsidies
influence the increase and intensity of overfishing. These subsidies include those that reduce costs or
enhance revenues and promote overcapacity, such as support for boat construction and modernization,
fuel, equipment, and other operating costs (EcoWatch, 2011). Another

Abstinence In 1984
In the Novel 1984 by George Orwell there are many connections to modern day society including the
anti sex league which reflects abstinence only sex education. Abstinence only sex education has been
a growing concern in the country lately with instance only advocate Bristol Palin announcing her
pregnancy with her second child out of wedlock.
In the novel the junior Anti Sex League is a club to teach teen girls not to have sex. The Junior Anti
Sex League tells women you shouldn t have sex for pleasure and that sex is to be an unwanted act
only necessary for procreation This is similar to abstinence only sex education which teaches not
having sex outside of marriage, similar to the anti sex league abstinence only education often teaches
that abstinence as the only morally correct option. Similar to the Anti Sex League abstinence only sex
ed often targets and shames girls. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its real, undeclared purpose was to remove all pleasure from the sexual act. Not love so much as
eroticism was the enemy, inside marriage as well as outside it...... The Party seeks not only to sever
private loyalties in encouraging chastity, but also to control its constituents use of time by advocating
the abolition of sex entirely. Intercourse was to be looked on as a slightly disgusting minor
operation.... This again was never put into plain words, but .... It was rubbed into every Party member
from childhood onwards. There were even organizations such as the Junior, Anti Sex League, which
advocated complete celibacy for both sexes. All children were to be begotten by artificial insemination
(artsem, it was called in Newspeak) and brought up in public institutions.

Old man and the sea Essay
The epic journey of The Old Man and the Sea describes struggle, discipline and manhood. The main
characters relationships exemplify how faith and skill overcome man s adversity during life on the sea.
Santiago s growing relationship with the boy idealizes his statute as a father figure and develops his
integrity and values towards the boy. Hemmingway shows us how an old fisherman s will to overcome
the sea s obstacles proves his manhood to himself and the young boy. His skills and knowledge of the
sea provide a positive influence for the young boy to become a great fisherman someday.
Throughout the constant struggle between Santiago and the fish, he is forced to prove his skills as a
fisherman and conduct his discipline to retain his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He did not truly feel good because the pain from the cord across his back had almost passed pain and
into dullness that he mistrusted. (74) Once both the fish and Santiago had reached the breaking point
of conflict the story seemed to slow down in time to exemplify the adverse conditions that both
characters were suffering from. The old man proves himself worthy of personal suffering with the cuts
and scars on his hands and back along with all of the pulling and slipping the cords had upon his
fragile body. Hemmingway shows in a big way how an out of proportioned conflict with an old
fisherman and an 18 foot long marlin helps to magnify the significance of Santiago searching for his
rebirth to manhood. With constant abstraction describing the fish and the sea in relation to
brotherhood create interesting questions for Santiago to ponder. His rationalization for his fishing is
that he was born to do it. A man can be destroyed but not defeated. (103) Hemmingway proves that
this fish represents all of Santiago s built up tension to total the size of a gigantic marlin that is
perceived as devastating but not unconquerable. The old man s hopes and aspirations can overcome
the adversity of the marlin s size, along with the conditions of the old, hungry, and exhausted
fisherman. Through outright suffering Santiago achieves a goal above his previous manhood by
combating pain and

My Country, Saudi Arabia, is Face Many Problems
Although my country is facing a lot of internal and external challenges, it remains steadfast, thanks to
the wise policy that instilled confidence in our hearts, but there are some problems that can happen in
a lot of developed countries, such as environmental , social and educational problems. Solving these
problems helps to push vehicle of progress and civilization forward , so I will talk about three
problems face my country .
The first problem environmentally is dust storms. In the last ten years, a rate of dust storms in Saudi
Arabia has been increased. For example, Statistics indicate that it has compiled by Salih Rubaiaan,
who is a historian , that proportion of dust increased from eight days in 1983 to 82 days in 2007,
meaning that sandstorms increased by eight times what it was in 1983. Reasons for the increasing due
to a lack of rainfall as the main reason, but there are others, such as: overgrazing, receding green
space; loss of a large number of trees that is buffer dust, and wars in neighboring region. The military
mechanisms led to crack solid layers that formed over time, so environmental damages are health and
economic problems. The health problem is increasing incidence of allergic diseases, asthma and eye
diseases. In a report to Ministry of Health says that number of patients and visitors to hospital
emergency departments in Riyadh region are more than 700 cases daily due to dust storms. The
economic problem is business

Essay about Rock Music in the GDR and the Eastern Bloc
The well known riff of Deep Purple s Smoke on the Water opens Andreas Dresen s movie Changing
Skins (Raus aus der Haut, 1997). The film opens in a crowded music club where young people are
dancing ecstatically, turned on by pulsing rock and roll. This could be a trite depiction of youth culture
if it were not located in a country that suppressed this kind of music: the German Democratic Republic
(GDR). It is therefore worth reflecting on the social and political controversy in the former East
Germany that, finally in the 1970s, permitted the performance of rock music and even imports from
the capitalist part of the world. By the late 1970s, different kinds of rock music were not only an
integral part of Western youth culture but also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beat and rock music spread all over the GDR and imported records circulated on the black market.
The government finally had to accept the fact that rock and roll had become an integral part of youth
culture even in the socialist bloc.
At the Eighth SED Congress in 1971, Honecker announced an about face. The needs of young people
as they were an important part of socialist society should no longer be ignored. Therefore, music from
the West was allowed to be broadcast on radio stations (most popular was the youth station DT64 ),
special editions of famous musicians like Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and so on
were released, and local bands were allowed again to perform in newly founded music clubs and
discotheques.
In 1973, with the establishment of the Committee for Entertainment Music as part of the Culture
Ministry and the arrangement of the International Youth Festival in East Berlin, beat music was
officially rehabilitated. Basically since around 1970, popular culture in fact was the core of a common
culture (Maase 15). As a matter of fact, with the accommodation of rock and roll to official culture the
government now was better able to control songwriters and musicians. With the groups dependent on
the benefits of the Ministry, which

The Nike Inc. Company
Introduction The Nike Inc. company Just Do It logo encourages many to be motivated to push
themselves to work hard and to feel good about themselves. The Nike Inc. shoe industry has marketed
their sneakers through popular icons such as sport players. However, the same should be encouraged
in employees who manufacture these products overseas in China, Indonesia and Korea. Nike has a
responsibility to ensure that Management in the manufacturing company are held to a higher practice
to avoid unsafe working conditions, unfair pay and child labor.
Unsafe Working Conditions
Marketing agency know that the way to encourage buying it to present a need or want based on
popularity. Therefore, it is unbelievable that those super stars that many have come to ideal would
support a company brand that is accused of poor working conditions, where employees were reported
to have respiratory problems. It is no doubt that long hours, inadequate equipment and training, etc.
would cause work related injuries. In addition to working long hours, employees were reported to
receive little to no pay.
Equal Pay for Equal Work
Upon being hired, many Americans are provided with a schedule and a salary or an hourly rate of pay.
The rising cost of supplies and companies having limited resources in the United States, it would seem
logical that companies venture out and look for cost effective material and labor. However, Nike is
also reported to have no knowledge of working conditions because

The On Being Born And Dying
There are two things that you can count on in life: being born and dying. Everyone will experience
death, which makes it inevitable part of human life. According to the Centers of Disease Control and
Prevention, there are approximately 2,596,993 deaths. The death rates are approximately 821.5 deaths
per 100,000 population, and the life expectancy is 78.8. Nurses tend to avoid the subject of death and
dying, but fail to realize that death is a part of the holistic care that is promised to clients. In saying
this, nurses must deal with their own death in order to help someone else cope with dying or death of a
family member. The nurses must be compassionate and show empathy to help the client and the
family cope.
Spirituality is another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a nurse, you must understand the different types of death as well as the stages of grief in order to
help the client as well as the family. According to Taylors, the different types of death include natural,
sudden, and suicide. Natural death is when a person dies naturally like in their sleep from old age.
This is expected. Sudden death is unexpected like when someone dies in a car crash. Suicide is when a
person kills themselves. When understanding the stages of grief, the nurse should know that the stages
don t necessarily go in order. First is the denial stage. Denial is a coping technique that people use to
protect themselves. An example of denial would be like a client saying I m not sick or I am not dying.
The doctor does not know what he is talking about. I will get a second opinion. Anger is the next
stage, which is often directed at the family or healthcare members. Anger is when the client, family, or
both are being rude. As the nurse, since you know that the client and the family are going through the
grieving process, do not take the rudeness personal. Bargaining is making a deal with God to prolong
life (Taylor). A patient might say, Lord, if you save my life, I promise to go to church every
Wednesday and Sunday. Depression results from the loss experienced because of health care status
and hospitalization. During the depression phase, the nurse might see a persistent feeling of sadness or
loss of interest that

  • 2. Analyzing The Movie Wanted Wanted! When you hear, or say that term, the visual that may come to mind may be: criminal, old western movie, or even a comparison to a relationship. But in relation to the movie Wanted it stands for nothing but a guy that wanted no more in life but to find his purpose. A lot of us in this world never actually find our purpose in life, we just kind of settle for what we are able to do. We go through trials and tribulations to find ourselves, and find anything that will make our lives more satisfying, including putting ourselves in harms way to do it. This film stars Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, and James McAvoy, which names all scream a killer movie to me. The theme represented in this movie is not only deceit and lack of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first theme demonstrated in this movie is Perseverance, which was illustrated in the film by Wesley, and his determination to go through all the physical test to meet standards of the fraternity. His whole intention throughout the movie was to prove that he could become more than what he always has considered himself, which is below average. When Wesley was in training he got beat up by multiple people in the fraternity, in an attempt to make him physically strong to stand anything. He learned tasks including fighting, knife work, and also how to curve a bullet. When he was learning to curve the bullet Sloan, played by Morgan Freeman, states The first time in your life Wesley, you are in control (Bekmambetov, Wanted ). As he shoots multiple bullets and still pierces the wrong target, Fox then stands in the middle of him and the target and says, shoot the target (Bekmambetov, Wanted ). As hesitant as he was, he knew he had to have confidence in himself to complete the task. As he shoots around Fox, not knowing if the bullet would hit her, he takes his shot and hits the correct target. Sloan then says Welcome to the fraternity (Bekmambetov, Wanted ). He then knew all his hard work had paid off! That part of the movie showed strength and perseverance. Another way both themes, deceit and perseverance, were shown was at the end of the movie when Wesley ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Carboxylate Group In Tamiflu Additional questions: 1. Why would removing the carboxylate groups result in the compound s activity being nullified? The carboxylate group in Tamiflu provides it with a strong ionic interaction with an arginine residue. This interaction will hold the drug molecule in place in the binding pocket of the enzyme, allowing it to elicit an effect. Removal of this group would result in the arginine Tamiflu interaction being removed, which would result in a poorer affinity for the binding pocket. The Tamiflu molecule will be far less likely to exhibit good binding and therefore the biological effect of the drug would be diminished. 2. Identify the binding groups and their optimal alignment with one another, paying particular attention to the hydrogen bonds. Provide at least one example for each type of interaction. a. Hydrophobic The non polar chain attached to the ether in Tamiflu has a non polar interaction with the side chain of a glutamic acid residue, where the residue fits in between the two side chains of the Tamiflu. b. Hydrogen bonds The amide of Tamiflu forms a hydrogen bond with the guanidine group of an arginine residue. The nitrogen of the guanidine acts as a hydrogen bond donor and the amide of the Tamiflu molecule acts as a hydrogen bond acceptor. The NH2 group of the Tamiflu also forms hydrogen bonds with an aspartic acid residue, where NH2 is the hydrogen bond donor and COO is the hydrogen bond acceptor. c. Ionic interactions There is an ionic interaction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Tourism In UK Tourism To begin with this could be classed as a positivity as the tourism industry sector is still growing despite the different impact, however this could also be seen as a negative according to the WTTC findings because it has meant that within the Brexit it includes that immigrants might have to go back to their own countries. This is showing as since there are mostly foreigners working in the sector like working in hotels, there is an opening for more vacancies, this could mean less people are able to effectively give good tourist services. Whilst focusing on how the sector has boosted the UK s economy in different ways, there are also somethings which could change for UK travellers. According to express article for tourists who are going on holiday they would need to keep on top of the Brexit holiday rules, when travelling to Europe , this suggests that the guide book was made to ensure they understand the rules, when entering a European country but ensuring rules are being kept. • 13. Jetblue s Is Societal Aspects That Are Affected By... JetBlue s is societal aspects that are affected by external forces as well. I would break it down into four categories to mainly focus on this societal area. They are listed as follows: Economic, Technological, Political Legal and Sociocultural. Looking at the economic aspect, the economy has gotten much better since 2008 2009. There is more income being dispersed around the country. Also, if you are looking at the current price for oil, that should not be an issue for airlines right now. The technological aspect shows us how well the ticketing and self service check in are doing. Another thing that could be helpful is even allowing credit cards to be used on flights for more purchases. The Internet has become a great tool for our society. It allows us to even search around and find the cheapest flights around. The political legal aspects that have an effect could be the fear of terrorists. I know since 9/11, airplanes have been one of the safest ways of transportation with all the rules and regulations. Another important part that of this aspect is the effect on oil because of certain internal wars over in the Middle East. Finally, the sociocultural aspect shows us that people have different opinions on certain topics. For example, I know many people are probably worrying about the Zika Virus if they are on a plane that has come from a country that is known for having it or if they are traveling to one of those countries. People want to be updated and know that they are in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Logarithms Invented The definition of a logarithm is the exponent of the power to which a base number must be raised to equal a given number. A question that has been around for ages presents the question of whether a logarithm is an invention or a discovery. Logarithms are essentially the same as mathematics, so likewise, the question also queries whether mathematics is an invention or a discovery. The primary difference between an invention or discovery is the existence of the thing being discussed. If the thing did not exist before someone brought it into existence, then the thing was invented; however, if the thing did exist before its existence was known, then it was discovered. In part, logarithms and mathematics are both invented and discovered. Someone invented their existence and discovered the facts to support their ideas, as all experiments go. laws of logarithms This abstract mathematical concept was conceived in the 17th century in order to drastically decrease the amount of time required for the multiplication of large numbers. The first to publish ideas on this particular subject is a Scottish mathematician named John Napier in his text Description of the Marvelous Canon of Logarithms in the year 1614. I chose that topic because it is interesting to find out how father and son can differ in so many ways. Eventhough they are directly blood related, Unoka and Okonkwo have a very different characteristic. Unoka the father was a very lazy and wasteful man, while Okonkwo is everything Unoka was not. Many people have been asking the same question on this strange matter since they are more familiar with the saying like father, like son . But Okonkwo is different, since he was a child; he has been through neglected like situation. Feelings from Okonkwo towards Unoka were mostly dominated by anger and embarrassment, and will be presented as my IOP in the form of a poem: (next page) Why did I choose poem as my media of interpretation is because poem is very expressive, and also because Okonkwo s unexpressive nature. The first two stanza of the poem, are contrasting with the third, fourth, and fifth stanza. First and second stanzas tell us about Okonkwo s childhood period. The mood and atmosphere are dominated with anger and embarrassment because of Unoka s incapability which makes Okonkwo suffers. 12 summers of growling face, Can break the jaw of all menace. And here by goes the explosion Nothing happened but code expression. In the burning sun, tomato has ripen, Fall off the rotten tree, trampled in sight. Can you even call yourself a father? When you are not at all a provider. 12 summers of cold, tears and sorrow, Never even once you thought about tomorrow. I sat down under the dark thunderous cloud, Wondering how much the price of proud. Now 24th spring is my time, And yams grow abundantly in line. Like a firm tree, my leaves covered all, Flowers and fruits clustered in enormous wall. And when my feet stomp the ground, Every god creation bows down.

  • 18. Women At Point Zero By Nawal El Saadawi Society looks down on women who are sexually active with more then one man or have sex all the time. On the flipside of the situation men are prized and put on a high horse for having many sexual partners. In most societies men ultimately decide what women can and cannot do, which shouldn t be the case. A woman cannot be liberated or truly happy until she can make choices non sexual or sexual by herself without the degrading opinions from men in society. In Women at Point Zero, by Nawal EL Saadawi, Firdaus has never been able to make decisions in her life in any manner, from the sexual surgery, to being married off to the older man with out her consent. Her first real choice in life was when Bayoumi asked if she liked tangerine or oranges. When she starts off as a prostitute she sees all these choices she can make and loves it. However towards the end she realizes that she does not actually have any choices. The second time in her life she really has any choice is when she is in prison. Firdaus s first sexual encounter is with a bout named Mohammadain. They play a game called Bride and Bridegroom, this game involves them taking off their clothes and rubbing against each other. Firdaus gets a sense of pleasure from it and sadly this will be the last time she will get pleasure from a sexual activity. However, if the goal is to find locations outside of the United States and wan to travel to countries in the Caribbean and Latin America I have a few suggestions for you. Negril, Jamaica and Cancun Mexico are among the best vacations spots I have ever visited. The beaches, the accommodations, and the food is amazing in both countries. Negril, Jamaica was the second place out of the United States I vacationed. The resort I stayed in was a five star all inclusive adult only resort named Swept Away. The accommodations in Swept Away were astonishing. I stayed in a bungalow styled room separate from the main resort rooms. The bungalow was located on the beach near the shoreline. The room was huge. In it there was a queen size bed made of wood and two lounge chairs. The bedding was bright white linen and the cushions on the lounge chairs were made of the same bright white linen. Large white mosquito net was draped around the bed. The white bedding, cushions and mosquito net gave the room a nice calm and romantic feeling. Also, there was a balcony adjacent to the room. The balcony had a white linen sofa and two end tables made of wood. The view from the balcony was of the beautiful blue oceans and beach. The beaches in Negril bore light brown almost beige colored sand. The sand felt like soft little pebbles between your toes when stepped on. • 24. The Best Kind of Sex Education There is much controversy over which form of sex education should be taught, comprehensive sex education, or abstinence only sex education. The definition for comprehensive sex education is responsible and balanced sexuality education that seeks to assist young people in understanding a positive view of sexuality, provide them with information and skills about caring for their sexual health, and help them acquire skills to make decisions now and in the future. It is medically accurate and provides information about abstinence and contraceptives as tools to prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. On the other hand, abstinence only sex education is a form of sex education that teaches abstinence from sex. This type of sex education promotes sexual abstinence until marriage and avoids discussion of use of contraceptives. Comprehensive sex education goes against some family morals and encourages teenagers to have sex. But abstinence only sex education does not teach students enough about sex or how to protect themselves from STDs and pregnancy. Comprehensive sex education should be mandatory in all of our nation s schools. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, sex education was strongly effected by Victorian values. It is a crucial teaching to learn that makes the whole bible come more alive , among other teachings that aren t taught in your average church Let s go to Genesis and see what happened in the garden. Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Gootenberg documents the lore of the Andean coca leaf, the birth of cocaine as a medical commodity, the early twentieth century decline cocaine, and its reemergence as a global illicit good following World War II. The commodity chain of coca and cocaine began with the extraction of alkaloidal cocaine from the dried Andean coca leaf. Medical uses of cocaine included treatment of opiate addiction, hay fever, asthma, or other respiratory ailments. • 36. Is Sexual Selection Within Male Pharomachrus Mocinno... Title: Is Sexual Selection In Male Pharomachrus mocinno favoured by Longer Plume Tail Length due to Increase in Colour? Introduction: The Pharomachrus mocinno has evolved many behavioural and physical traits as a result of adaptation to the current environment and lifestyle it leads, however this proposal will focus on the unusual plume tail length of the male P. mocinno. This particular species habitat requires nests as high as 22 meters in rotting trees (Seigfried et al. 2010). Therefore, the function of the feathers would typically be assumed to enhance flight, as that would make sense as a useful function in this scenario due to the high elevation. Surprisingly, however, the long length of the plume tail actually decreases the speed of the male bird due to the drag force of air (Norberg 1995) and requires it to drop backward off the branches before being able to fly forward normally (LaBastille et al. 1972). With such issues with the long plume tails, would sexual selection really be in this traits favour? In a study done on the widowbird such was the case; males with longer plumes were mated the most (Andersson 1982). However, the widowbird is completely black (including its tail), while in the case of Pharomachrus mocinno it is a very colourful bird. Previous studies also have shown, that the bright reflective colours on the male s bodies help in attracting females (LaBastille et al. 1972). Therefore, it s possible that the long length of the P. mocinno male s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This put together with the strange characters they encounter, the sensibility within those characters all work together to slowly build their fears and introduces the idea of the paternal protector, Edward and his family for Bella with Vilvaldi and Schedoni ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just like Twilight, The Italian also communicates the anxieties of women the late 18th to early 20th Century, where middle class women s homes were becoming uncomfortably like a castle or a prison, with constraints on their education and social developments. This is shown in the way female characters always end up trapped within gothic text. When Ellena is kidnapped, even though she faints, it is described differently: All consciousness had now forsaken her (Radcliffe, 61). Also when she is taken to the house of Spalatro, she faints, but the words in the narrative say that horror chilled all her frame, and her senses forsook her (Radcliffe, 211). Ellena is always thrust back into the middle of peril whenever she seems to reach safety. Ellena is able to remain pure yet strong despite what happens to her; she keeps the Marchesa cleverly controlling, while fearful of her husband finding out her plans. This slightly takes away from the stereotypical damsel in distress, making her seem less weaker than usual. She does not tremble with and fear and does not cry at every misfortune very often but she is also, always, saved and protected creating the role in simultaneously restricting women and providing them power. The Sublime also contributes to the mystery: obscure sounds, unexplainable events and dark figures distress and create anxieties within the characters. The sublime describes the natural ... Different Types Of Motor For A Robotic Surgery System Essay A client of Reverse engineering has given us three types of motors (DC motor, servo motor, and a stepper motor) and tasked us with determining the best application for these motors. They have also requested a recommendation of a DC motor for their newest robotic surgery system. The purpose of this experiment is to investigate these three different types of motors, to determine the most useful application for these different types of motors, and to give a recommendation of a DC motor for a robotic surgery system. The following sections of this memo will detail different aspects of the experiment. Section 2 will clearly present the results of the experiment and detail any observations. Section 3 will discuss the significance of these results and section 4 will summarize and conclude the memorandum. 2. Results and Description During the DC motor experiment, the weight trough was observed to sway side to side when ascending. On occasion, the weights would swing into the table and require the test to be run again. The stepper motor was observed to not always point exactly at one of the designated angles (angles measuring 0, 45, 90, 135 etc.). Results were gathered three different types of motors; a DC motor, servo motor, and a stepper motor. Table 1 displays the results for the DC motor experiment The number of weights column represents the number of 1.6755 ounce force hexagonal weights hanging from the DC motor. Argumentative Essay On Beauty Pageants In 1854 instead of judging woman or young girls on their looks, Phineas Taylor Barnum began judging animals on their looks, this was the first beauty pageant. The first swimsuit competition was held in 1880 at a festival to bring business however, it soon became a summer tradition . Women from all around the world became interested in them, wanting to be seen as the perfect woman. Currently, there are 3 different types of beauty pageants, a glitz pageant consists of the contestants wearing heavy makeup, crystal decorated clothes and wearing slip on veneers. Another type of pageant is named a semi glitz pageant which is very similar to the glitz pageant , except contestants are not allowed to wear any hair pieces or slip on veneers. The third type of pageant is referred to as the natural pageant , contestants are permitted to wear natural makeup and will be disqualified if any hair piece or slip on veneers are worn. Each of these different pageants are taken very seriously by its contestants with the goal in mind of winning the crown. Many contestants will often make drastic or permanent changes, forced by their guardian or parent(s) if they think they have a better chance of winning. Beauty pageants exist only to judge girls based on their looks, which can be extremely damaging, both physically and emotionally, therefore beauty pageants should be prohibited around the world to help end the constant discrimination and unreal expectations of women and young girls. ... • 43. One Solution to Global Overfishing Analysis The first thing that comes to one s mind when fish is mentioned is usually, smelly, nasty, or to some, delicious. In a nutritional aspect, fish is a top priority in a diet because of the protein that it has. Many people fish for food, or just for leisure. Overfishing mainly started in the 19th century, when humans started looking for blubber for oil lamps, which they used for light during the night. When humans started overfishing for the whale blubber it severely reduced and damaged the whole population of the sea life. There have been many incidents where innocent lifeguards and individuals have been attacked by sharks and other dangerous fish while spending time in waters. The overfishing of the shark s prey has causes this. This is a very dangerous issue as it may take many lives away for nothing. Another major cause is the subsides provided to fishermen from the government. Despite the depleted state of the oceans, many governments provide major subsidies to their fishing sectors. According to The Webster Merriam Dictionary, a subsidy is money that is paid usually by a government to keep the price of a product or service low or to help a business or organization to continue to function. Subsidies not only distort markets and support uneconomic activities, but also are a major incentive to overfishing and other destructive fishing practices. These large subsidies have helped produce a worldwide fishing fleet that is up to 250 percent larger than what is needed to fish at sustainable levels (Fisheries Subsidies, Overcapacity and Overfishing, 2008). Some subsidies support beneficial programs, such as management and research for overfishing. However, the majority of subsidies influence the increase and intensity of overfishing. These subsidies include those that reduce costs or enhance revenues and promote overcapacity, such as support for boat construction and modernization, fuel, equipment, and other operating costs (EcoWatch, 2011). • 47. Essay about Rock Music in the GDR and the Eastern Bloc The well known riff of Deep Purple s Smoke on the Water opens Andreas Dresen s movie Changing Skins (Raus aus der Haut, 1997). The film opens in a crowded music club where young people are dancing ecstatically, turned on by pulsing rock and roll. This could be a trite depiction of youth culture if it were not located in a country that suppressed this kind of music: the German Democratic Republic (GDR). It is therefore worth reflecting on the social and political controversy in the former East Germany that, finally in the 1970s, permitted the performance of rock music and even imports from the capitalist part of the world. Therefore, music from the West was allowed to be broadcast on radio stations (most popular was the youth station DT64 ), special editions of famous musicians like Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and so on were released, and local bands were allowed again to perform in newly founded music clubs and discotheques. In 1973, with the establishment of the Committee for Entertainment Music as part of the Culture Ministry and the arrangement of the International Youth Festival in East Berlin, beat music was officially rehabilitated. As a nurse, you must understand the different types of death as well as the stages of grief in order to help the client as well as the family. According to Taylors, the different types of death include natural, sudden, and suicide. Natural death is when a person dies naturally like in their sleep from old age. This is expected. Sudden death is unexpected like when someone dies in a car crash. Suicide is when a person kills themselves. When understanding the stages of grief, the nurse should know that the stages don t necessarily go in order. First is the denial stage. Denial is a coping technique that people use to protect themselves. An example of denial would be like a client saying I m not sick or I am not dying. The doctor does not know what he is talking about. I will get a second opinion. Anger is the next stage, which is often directed at the family or healthcare members. Anger is when the client, family, or both are being rude. As the nurse, since you know that the client and the family are going through the grieving process, do not take the rudeness personal. Bargaining is making a deal with God to prolong life (Taylor). A patient might say, Lord, if you save my life, I promise to go to church every Wednesday and Sunday.
