web letter skills

1. As we begin the last marking period of the school year, the skills
below will be the focus in our classroom. Please practice any skill
that your child may need some extra practice.
Knows birthday, telephone number and address.
Knows days of the week, months of the year and seasons.
Letter identification, letter sounds and a word for each.
High Frequency words (all four lists)
Writes decodable words (three letter words that use sounds we
have learned)
Subtract fluently
Identify and describe 2D and 3D shapes
Sort and classify data
Measure
Prints first and last name, letters of the alphabet and 0-9
Blends letter sounds into words
Retells simple stories
Want to get a head start for first grade?....work on the following
skills:
simple addition and subtraction, writing complete short sentences, place value, long vowel
sounds with the magic silent e, rhyming, opposites, sequence events, nouns, verbs,
adjectives, discuss opinion and why, discuss facts, read stories together and discuss.
