As we begin the third marking period of the school year, the skills
below will be the focus in our classroom. Please practice any skill
that your child may need some extra practice with from the
previous lists.
Retells simple stories (character, setting, events)
Knows birthday, telephone number
Knows days of the week, months of the year and seasons.
Letter identification, letter sounds and a word for each.
High Frequency words (all three lists)
Writes decodable words (three letter words that use sounds we
have learned)
Counts to 100 by 1’s, 10’s, 5’s and 2’s
Sorts objects into groups and states rule
Prints first and last name, letters of the alphabet and 0-9
Identifies and extends a pattern (red, blue, yellow, and red, blue,
yellow)
Blends letter sounds into words
Uses pictures in a story to predict what will happen next
