Motives In King Lear
A person s worth is never defined by their external appearances, such as their physical features or
titles, but it lies in the internal thoughts that they base their actions upon. Act I of King Lear, by
William Shakespeare, explores the idea that individuals are defined by their personal values and
motives. This can be seen in the deceitful Goneril and Regan, the good Cordelia, and the
knowledgeable fool. First, both Goneril and Regan give beautiful words of love to their father,
King Lear, but neither sisters have any genuine love for him. During Lears stay at Goneril s
residence, Goneril tells her servant, Put on what weary negligence you please,/ ... If he distaste it,
let him to our sister,/ Whose mind and mine I know in that are one,/ Not to be overruled ... Show

The two sisters plan to neglect and discredit their father and his authority. This act of unkindness
shows that their words of love were only a facade, and their true natures exist as unloving and
uncaring daughters. In contrast, Cordelia cannot profess her love to Lear through words of
flattery, however, her love for her father is deeper and truer than Goneril s and Regan s. When
Cordelia is disowned by Lear and forced to leave, she says to her two sisters, But yet, alas, stood
I within his grace,/ I would prefer him to a better place (I.i.275 276). Despite Lear s rash actions
of abandoning Cordelia, she still loves her father and wishes to take care of him. Cordelia is not
able value her father through words, but her actions define her nature as a daughter and the love
she has for Lear. Lastly, the fool, generally known for their playful antics and humor, displays
wisdom and even offers advice to Lear. Right before Lear leaves to live with Regan, the fool
advises, Thou shouldst not have been old till thou hadst been/ wise. (I.v.42 43). On the surface, the
social title of the fool gives the impression that the person is an inane individual, and his outfit
makes him appear to be silly

Zoo s Efforts to Help Conservation Essay
Since approximately 1250 B.C., ancient Egyptians had created and practiced the capture and
display of animals in what are now known as zoos (Fravel). Records describe such exotic animals
as birds, lions, giraffes, and tigers in captivity (Fravel). Since then, zoos have continued to entertain
millions with the exciting chance to view exotic animals up close and personal. Even in ancient
Greece, exotic animals were on display in fighting arenas, and in enclosed viewing areas.
Originally in America, zoos were just created so that royalty and the wealthy could flaunt their
exotic animals to the public (Leolupus). Today, with speciesthreatened and habitats disappearing
worldwide, zoos are serving a new purpose other than the mere exhibition of... Show more content

Examples of zoos that are well known for such programs include Animal Kingdom in Orlando, the
Oakland Zoo, and the San Diego Zoo. These three have won multiple awards and achievements for
breeding, conservation, and reintroduction of endangered species to their natural habitats. Many
zoos across North America participate in such programs like the Species Survival Plan Program
(SSP), which strives to increase the numbers of endangered species in zoos while ensuring
healthy and self sustaining populations (Traw). According to the Association of Zoos and
Aquariums (AZA), programs like SSP have succeeded in increasing endangered species
populations of many animals, like red wolves, snow leopards, and giant pandas within the last
three decades (Traw). It has been estimated that the AZA has established around 113 SSP s
spanning over 181 endangered species within a variety of zoos worldwide (Traw). Breeding
programs are extremely vital to conservation efforts in zoos; without them, endangered species
would be in serious threat of extinction in their natural habitat. However, these breeding efforts also
have important standards. They make sure to breed the animals responsibly, healthily, and
genetically safe. In some cases, the goal and outcome of breeding programs is the reintroduction of
the animals to their natural habitat, which has a large impact on the recuperation of that animal s
population.Reintroduction is the goal andfinal product of breeding programs.

What Is The Mystery Of Jay Gatsby
The mystery of Jay Gatsby is the only thing that keep me intrigued at times where the long
winded descriptions and adjectives became a bit too much for me. I did not get the concept of
the book at first because I thought everything from the beginning to the end would be told from
Jay Gatsby s point of view. No one seemed to know anything factual about this man, yet everyone
knew of him because of his wealth and lavish parties. I was surprised at how low key the book or
rather the author introduced him, physically. I thought he would have a grand entrance, not
something so understated and subtle. The extravagant parties he hosted prompted me to believe he
was more like the rich people in this book, snobby and arrogant. Now I have the impression

Intervention Strategy For Verizon Communication
Introduction Conflict resolution is necessary to keep focus and sustain the positive process.
Collection of all the facts should be done prior to attempted resolution. Communication to the
parties in a private setting to get their perspective is the idea. Only give opinions afterwards.
Unless all is understood one cannot move onto mediation. After making the decision, be resolute in
the delivery. (Lewicki, Saunders, Barry, 2015) Verizon Communications faced an increasingly
uncommon situation in 2016 when about 39,000 of its workers went on strike. The workers are
represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) and International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers (IBEW). These workers install and repair cables, as well... Show more content

The reason for the intervention was to get the Verizon workers back to work and get Verizon
back to a competitive state on the global market. To ease tensions and allow for a level playing
field Mr. Perez wanted both parties to talk in a non threatening environment, so he invited them
to meet in an informal setting with no suits and ties. He even downplayed the lunch menu to
sandwiches and salad. Experienced negotiators understand, however, that changing the
negotiation setting the physical location in which it occurs can be an important tactic for getting
negotiations back on track (Lewicki, Saunders Barry, 2015). In short, negotiations from Verizon
side was to get costs down, and from the Union side, it was job security. The Labor Department
offered any of its available assets to both sides to broker a deal. At times the DOL provided
expertise in the form of healthcare laws, benefits, and fair labor practices. To end the talks and
bring both sides together, Mr. Perez issued a challenge for both sides to consider the 40,000
workers that were being affected and the amount of business lost due to the ongoing negotiations.
Satisfactory results achieved due to the efforts led by Secretary Perez and the Department of Labor.
After tense negotiations, Verizon and the unions were able to come to an agreement that ended the
strike. There was give and

global context of the organization. This paper will also assess how the information in the Intuitive
Surgical case study does or does not exemplify the five discovery skills. Lastly, in this paper I will

As for any organization, for innovation to take place they need caring people who are will to
commit to the greater good of the organization, as well as creative people who have the capacity to
turn ideas into practical products and services. Therefore, with Intuitive Surgical patents expiring in
the near future they should channel the transformational leadership model so they can have a great
chance of building innovators within its organizations.
The second leadership model that could benefit Intuitive Surgical and help with innovation in
organizations is behavioral leadership. This type of leadership moved away from who leaders
where to what leaders did. If they continue doing what they are doing and coming up with ideas that
make patients happy with very minimal errors, this companies acquirement of innovative
employees will rise along with its products.
How the information in the Intuitive Surgical case study does or does not exemplify the five
discovery skills
In The DNA of Innovators, The discovery skills are the new ideas introduced by the innovator who

Questions On Values And Values
Discussion Topic #2 Prompts
Prompt #1: Values Worksheet: What were your top 5 values? What kinds of defining
characteristics did you associate with your values as you crossed them off the list one at a time
until you had only one value listed? What did you learn about your values hierarchy through this
activity?
First, my top ten values were difficult in itself to pick out because I feel like I could have had
many of the checklist highlighted. For instructional purposes I picked adventure, challenging
problems, public service, being around open and honest people, leadership, integrity, honesty,
helping others, having a family, and responsibility. If I were to narrow my list down to five, I

identity that guide you in life and think about whether the values you ascribed to these areas are
values that you truly live by or simply talk about. Discuss any values gaps
I feel like my values checklist mirrors my identities table. Being a veteran, I was involved in
public service, I was a leader, I challenged problems, I had adventure, I had responsibility and
accountability and I had integrity. Helping others values connect with me being a massage
therapist. In addition with being a husband, the values of honesty, adventure, integrity, being
around open and honest people, responsibility and accountability, and having a family come into
play. I understand that these exercises are created to get us thinking on a deeper, emotional level,
however I also think your values need to be limited in a list of ten or five. I think naturally most of
our values list is longer.

exploring your dreams and desires in this manner? Can you see a connection between what you
desire and your inner sense of purpose? Explain.

Essay On Nationalism And Nationalism
Nationalism could be a type of religion in some cases. Nationalism could be a kind of religion
promoted by the state in order to help supplement obedience and conformity to the wishes of the
state. Like all religions, nationalism tries to answer the problems of life, for instance, who the
person is, from where do they come from, what is the person s legacy and etc. All these questions
could sometimes be answered through nationalism and that s why some people could be extremely
nationalistic. Just like every false idea of reality, it could be dangerous. Although religionis not the
thing that truly successfully binds people in a geographic space as well as nationalism does,
nationalism could still act as a sort of religion.
More recently, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some way religious nationalists often occur to their religion traditionally and follow specific
ways that their ancestors believed in because religious people would only refer to their religion s
text but religious nationalists would refer to ancestors. Religion and nationalism could
sometimes be separated by the idea of politicizing religion or having the influence on religion to
politics. For example in Saudi Arabia they have the effect of religion on their political ideologies
and they make laws according to the Islam. The most reason why religion can be similarized
with nationality is because it gives a sense of national unity and it s a belief shared by a group of
people and that kind of shows how its similar to nationalism. The idea of religion supports the
persons national identity, shares similar ethnicity with a group of people, language and culture also
that s how nationalism and religion are similar.
Whatever the case may be, the modern religion and nationalism, nationalism would win over
religion because everyone sort of follows tradition more than religion these days and tradition
could lead to a specific belief and build up a national group. So modern people would put
nationalism before their religion. An example for this is the Islamic extremist group ISIS on how
they turned religion into nationalism but follow nationalistic belief and act as one more than they
would follow the actual Islamic

Poultry Farmers In America
I understand that your food products are extremely popular across the country, especially your
chicken products. I am writing to you about your treatment of the farmers that are raising your
chickens. What you do to these farmers is unacceptable and needs to stop immediately. Your
actions have caused hundreds of chicken farmers across the country to struggle financially and
emotionally. You need to change the harsh criteria you put on the farmers, the process by which
you decide which farms get bonuses and pay cuts, and you need to increase the wages these
farmers receive in the first place (Nelson and Kaptur). The system in which you punish farmers for
not obeying your exact instructions is inhumane. Many chicken farmers live below the... Show more

every day and the farms who raise them should be rewarded for their hard work. No chicken farm
should be making less than $50,000 annually. Raising the wages will solve many of the unfair
issues within this industry and it will improve the farmers well being as well as your

Australian Business Media Reported That The Board Of...
I.Introduction In the August 2015, most of the Australian business media reported that the
board of Federation Centre ( FDC ) sacked Steven Sewell as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
and then replaced him with Angus McNaughton as a new CEO. This removal subsequently
surprised investors and markets because it occurred just two months after the completion of the
merger between FDC and Novion Property Group ( Novion ). Moreover, there is no further
explanation from the board of FDC about the reason of removal Steven Sewell. Consequently,
the shares of the FDC declined 6% since the replacement. The removal of a director by the board
in the FDC case creates legal and ethical issues, which ultimately led to the onset of commercial
issues. Despite the legal, ethical and commercial issues, this case is strongly indicated that there
are some problems in the mechanism of removal directors stipulated in the Corporations Act
2001 (Cth) ( Corporations Act ) S 203D and S 203E. This indication is underpinned by some
cases in the Australian court in which directors are removed also by the board. Therefore, this
paper will analyse the legal, ethical and commercial issues regarding with the removal of FDC s
director, discuss the problem in the procedure of removal directors stipulated in the legislation, and
compare other regulations in the common law and civil law countries. Finally, drafts of new
mechanism of dismissal directors will be provided in this research to reform Section 203D

Analysis Of The Book The Great Gatsby By F. Scott...
Part two begins slowly and adds more confusion. The story is overly convoluted with new
characters and new events. Instead of Chris working on figuring out who s after him and finding
the chip, the story changes directions and it turns into stopping a major explosion and about a new
world order.
Also, James dominates part two, not Chris. In fact, characters well established in part one, are not
active in part two, such as Kurt Slowensky.
Part two spends too much time on the hypnosis scene, the political unrest, Big Mike (Mike Berg),
dreams about James and Chris, and flashbacks about James time in Somalia, and other series of
events.
The concern is that the first parts of the story (part 1) setup a strong expectation that this story
would be about retrieving information from James memory regarding the location of the chip.
However, part two feels like an entirely different script. Thus, it would benefit the script to focus on
the main storyline set up in the first script.
However, part 2 offers more action, which is absent in part one. Both part 1 and part 2 need to be
combined, but it needs to focus on ONE main goal. Too many flashbacks confuse the audience. The
only flashbacks should be relevant to Chris finding the chip or putting pieces together about who
might be after him. Granted, he may stumble upon a bigger conspiracy, but it has to be fluidly
connected to part one.
The timeline in part two remains unclear. Also, at times, it s unclear if James is truly

Middle Ages Dbq Essay
The middle ages are a topic that most people know of as the Dark Ages but mainly because no
one could identify what really happened during this time period. This was a period of learning
and innovation. Great things like religion, democracies were spread and created. That is why the
Dark Ages weren t so dark, like every person makes them out to be! One of the biggest questions
out there is, why are the Middle Ages known as the Dark Ages in the first place? Evidence from
Document A: A Dictionary Entry for the Dark Ages suggest that no one knew right away what
happened in the Middle Ages, that is why it became known as the Dark Ages. From then on once it
got its name historians and researchers automatically got a negative connotation about the Middle
Ages. They thought there was no learning or innovation taking place during this period, just
because of negative meaning it gained. As the days passed researchers soon figured out what really

Research Motivation
In broad daylight during a hot day in 1982, barefooted and shirtless pirates paddling wooden
canoes, attack an unarmed U.S. commercial ship delivering humanitarian relief in the seaport of
Freetown, Sierra Leone. The shirtless pirates are armed as they swing their grappling hooks and
ropes to climb the twenty five foot starboard hull. The pirates struggled to steal boxes of
cigarettes; a form of currency in the poor coastal population. The U.S. ship operators often used
cigarettes to bribe local African officials for port services. As customary, the U.S. vessel has no
weapons, except a flare gun, which jams when fired at the roving pirates. The pirates are finally
repealed by opposing shoeless and bare chested local natives with poison arrows. A naГЇve 20 year

My Happy Place
I walk into a dark cave. It feels mysterious and very uncomforting. I am slowly losing sight of my
surroundings, and then everything becomes completely dark. As I enter I immediately smell the
suffocating smell of dead fish all around me. I bump into the rough sides of the cave as it begins
to narrow. The temperature seems to drop with every step that I take, and the harshly chilling
breeze is constant. I hear rocks crumbling off from the ceiling falling onto the hard ground,
echoing through the darkness. I am alone and all I wish was there to be someone to show me the
way out. I suddenly notice the distant sound of waves crashing against the rocks and then I feel

My happy place is nature. I walk along the uncut grassy meadow that is spotted with subtle yellow

dew and the sun is just about to rise. The sky is painted with a light pink, and the grass randomly

The media industry has changed in the past twenty years in so many ways, most for the better but,

The iPod has enhanced the music industry in so many ways. It can be said that the iPod is the
greatest and most popular music playing device to have ever been made. If you own a iPod you
will know that you can get unlimited digital music, films and apps, some for free and some for a
little price. The good thing about it is that if you only like one song in the album you can buy
just that one song, instead of having to the whole album. The iPod is a MP3 product which
allows you to download the song of your choice from any site and still be able to play it through
the iPod. An iPod can be used for more than just music. It can also be utilized to play games,
listen to audio books, watch films, and recorded transcripts. Anything audio (and usually visual)
can be played on the iPad. There are many different models of iPods, including the Classic , the
iTouch and the Nano . All include individual features of their own. One of the iPod s great

Even though the iPod may have some quite amazing qualities, it also has a severe downside, which

Should the government only restrict an individual’s...
In a democratic society, it is generally considered the Government s role to promote morality and
justice within its citizens and seek to restrict supposedly immoral and unjust acts. Thus if an act is
to be considered immoral, it seems obvious to suggest that the government is justified in
restricting it regardless of whether it is harmful to others. However, since everybody has a
different understanding of morality and freedom, no Government could legitimately restrict an act
on the basis of it being immoral . Thus it seems more plausible to suggest that the Government
should only restrict actions which everybody can agree should be restricted. However it s not

While Mill is clear that offence is not sufficient to be considered harm , he does seek to ban
some things which may merely be offensive such as public indecency. He doesn t give explicit
examples in this instance, merely that there are some things which are acceptable in private, but
when performed in public go against the general concept of good manners . While this notion
may be agreeable to some, it s difficult to justify given Mill s other beliefs surrounding harm.
There are many acts which may be accepted in public by some and not others, for many there is
little wrong with homosexuality being exhibited in public, but for others even the mere thought
of it being practised in private causes them great distress. Although it s not obvious where the
line should be drawn in terms of public indecency, it seems obvious that everybody has a limit as
highlighted by Joel Feinberg (offence to others). Feinberg used a thought experiment concerning
a ride on a bus in which the people around you begin to perform slowly more intolerable acts
beginning with mere horrible smells and concluding with sexual acts being performed on an
animal. This demonstrates that if we wish to accept making sex acts with an animal on a bus
illegal, we may not be able to argue for it without also legitimising a restriction on other more
mundane acts of public indecency such as picking your nose. Although Mill didn t explicitly state
where he would have drawn the line in regards

Introduction
Since the development of the EMTALA Act in 1986, any individual which presents to the
emergency department, must be accessed and triaged by qualified medical personnel.
(www.cms.gov) Individuals are aware that if they present to the emergency department, regardless
if it is for just a tooth ache or a major illness like a heart attack, they will have to be treated. This
mandate does not extend to private physician offices, however, which creates an incentive for those

(Mann, 2014, p.2) These strategies include: broadening access to primary care services; focus on
individuals who frequently utilize the emergency department (super utilizers); and targeting the
needs of individuals with behavioral health problems. (Mann, 2014, pp 2 4) Many resources and
processes have been implemented in order to help decrease inappropriate emergency department
visits. This paper is going to demonstrate some resources and processes that are in place to help
individuals obtain health care at the appropriate health care setting.
Body When focusing on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Systems strategies for
improvement with unnecessary emergency room visits, a major key area is accessibility to health
care at the appropriate health care setting. For many years, there has been the perception that the
emergency department is the only place for someone who is uninsured or underinsured can go to
receive the needed and appropriate health care, and in some situations that may be the case. (Rhodes
et al, 2013, p.394) Due to the decreases in reimbursements for the publicly funded, more and more
physicians are opting out to treating these patients, thus leading to an increase in emergency
department utilization. According to a study conducted by Rhodes, Bisgaier, Lawson, Soglen,
Krug, and Haitsma, this is becoming a greater concern for the

Alternative Dispute Resolution Essay
Within the first part of my essay alternative dispute resolution (ADR) will be examined. I will
have a critical look at the key types as well as their usefulness in fulfilling the objective of access to
justice.
ADR represents a variety of processes all aiming to resolve disputes between potential litigants out
of court. The parties agree on the type of process used and the independent third party. The main
reason for adopting ADR, however, is dissatisfaction with litigation. Especially after the
introduction of new issue fees that came into force on January 4th , many people are deterred from
bringing their disputes to court by the financial barriers.
Colin Ettinger, President of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, describes... Show more

A further advantage is the high settlement rate and that the parties normally keep to mediated
agreements, as they have constructively worked on it rather than have a decision imposed on them.
(Data source: http://adrr.com/adr3/other.htm).
The mediator s decision is non binding (except when it is signed) and in the case of a failed
mediation, court, tribunals or other ADR options can be the following steps.
However, this can be a disadvantage because a failing mediation and the following measures can be
very time consuming.
Conciliation has some overlaps with mediation but the conciliator takes a more active role in
leading the parties to a consensus of opinion. The disputants do not usually meet; the conciliator
conducts discussions separately with each party before he gives guidance on settling the dispute.
His opinion then forms the basis of an agreement. The parties are free to agree on this. Concerning
employment disputes, sometimes the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS)
suggests that disputes should be settled by means of conciliation. If the process is successful,
mediation and conciliation are good examples for overcoming the problems of litigation and
facilitating the ease of access to justice.
Nevertheless, the non binding agreement is the first essential problem of both mediation and
conciliation because a solution is no use when one party does not accept it. The second problem is
that, in the absence of a third

Barack Obama Won The Presidential Election
On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama won the presidential election; Obama was sworn in as the
44th president of the United States on January 20, 2009. Originally, Obama s health care plan did
not include a mandate and was criticized. In the Jan. 2008 presidential primary debate, his response
to the criticism was, A mandate means that in some fashion, everybody will be forced to buy health
insurance. Instead of going that route, his plan, he said, emphasizes lowering costs. ... the
government will compel you to buy health insurance. Elect me and I ll give you lower costs and
let you keep your freedom ... what s she not telling you about her health care plan? It forces
everyone to buy insurance, even if you can t afford it, and you pay a penalty if you don t. (Cline).
At the time of his election, voters were under the impression that Obama was against the idea of an
individual health insurance mandate. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in February of 2008,
speaking of his opponent at the time, Hillary Clinton, Obama states: she mandates that everybody
buy health care. She d have the government force every individual to buy insurance and I don t
have such a mandate because I don t think the problem is that people don t want health insurance,
it s that they can t afford it...I focus more on lowering costs...I could mandate everybody to buy a

The Chrysanthemums By John Steinbeck Analysis
BiographyJohn Ernst Steinbeck was born in Salinas, California, which is where the short story,
The Chrysanthemums is set in 1902. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature and his held in high
regard, but not quite as high as Faulkner and Hemingway. Steinbeck died of a heart attack in
Salinas, California in 1963 (Levant). Overview Steinbeck published the short story The
Chrysanthemums in 1937 and included as part of his collection The Long Valley the following
year. In the story, Henry Allen and his wife own a ranch. Elisa, Henry s wife, is working with her
chrysanthemums. He suggests they go to the town, Salinas, to celebrate their new business. A

She reveals her hair for the first time in the story. When the tinker leaves, she goes through an
entire transformation. She takes her clothes off, takes a bath, examines her nude skin, and then
redresses herself. Elisa puts on beautifully feminine underwear, clothes, and makeup. This look
draws a stark contrast with her bulky gardening clothes. She is now revealed as a sexualized
woman instead of a simple tomboy. At the end of the story, she pulls up her coat collar to cover
her tears, implying a return to her repressed state in which she has lived most of her life. The
chrysanthemums symbolize both Elisa and the limited scope of her life. Like Elisa, the
chrysanthemums are lovely, strong, and thriving. Their flowerbed, like Elisa s house, is tidy and
scrupulously ordered. Elisa explicitly identifies herself with the flowers, even saying that she
becomes one with the plants when she tends to them. When the tinker notices the chrysanthemums,
Elisa visibly brightens, just as if he had noticed her instead. She offers the chrysanthemums to him
at the same time she offers herself, both of which he ignores and tosses aside. His rejection of the
flowers also mimics the way society has rejected women as nothing more than mothers and
housekeepers. Just like her, the flowers are unobjectionable and also unimportant: both are merely
decorative and add little value to the world.

Utilitarian Equality And Equality
What is equality? If one man in a room has five dollars and another man in the same room has
fifty dollars are we supposed to hold a gun to the temple of the man with fifty dollars in order to
force him into giving the man with five dollars some of his wealth? This is type of consequentialist
or utilitarian equality of outcome that was supported by some Socialist political economists of the
nineteenth and twentieth century such as Marx and Engels who would dare to go even farther in
advocating for the abolition and confiscation of propertyon top of a heavy graduated income tax
(Marx 18). Other theorists from the Enlightenment that were more liberally inclined such as Adam
Smith and John Lockeadvocated for a more deontologist framework where some would consider
equal opportunity takes precedent. This can most notably be seen through Smith when he called for
an exact administration of justice, and the creation and maintenance of public institutions that
would be advantageous for society as a whole (Smith Lecture). In other words, a just infrastructure
that would be just for all men, (women still did not possess the same rights as men at this time) in
which they hoped gave citizens an equal shot at the market and life. Bakunin, on the other hand,
had similar views as Smith in regards to equality but still maintained collectivist undertones in his
writings. Bakunin believed that freedom should be the basis of equality and that freedom of each
is therefore realizable only in

2.3Factors Affecting Accurate Demand Forecast
The operation of electricity system is strongly influenced by the accuracy of demand forecast as
economy and control of electric power system is quite sensitive to forecasting errors [44 45]. The
four important factors affecting load forecast are:
I.Weather conditions Electricity demand has a strong correlation to weather. To develop an efficient
and accurate demand forecasting model for electricity much effort has been put to find a
relationship between the weather and the demand of electricity. The change in comforts of
customer due to change in weather conditions resulting in usage of appliances likes air conditioner,
space heater and water heater. It also includes use of agricultural appliances for irrigation. The
pattern of demand differs greatly in the areas with large meteorological difference during summer
and winter. Dry and wet temperature, humidity, dew point, wind speed, wind direction, sunshine
and amount of precipitation are common weather parameters that influence electricity demand.
Among the weather variables listed above, two composite weather variable functions, the cooling

Renewable Energy And Climate Change
Renewable Energy and Climate Change Global warming and climate change is one of the most
pressing issues in the contemporary society given its continued impacts on human life and the
world s ecosystem. The considerable effects of this issue have raised huge concerns among
policymakers, governments, and the public. As a result, various initiatives have been developed in
attempts to lessen global warming or climate change, especially those related to reducing the
emission of greenhouse gases to the Earth s atmosphere. Governments across the globe including
the United Kingdom government have adopted various policies that focus on dealing with the
issue. There are various policies that help in dealing with the issue including lessening greenhouse
gases emissions, adapting to the effects of climate change, and geo engineering of the climate
system. The attempts by the UK government to address this problem require an understanding of
the increasing energy demands and its future impact and use of suitable renewable energy sources.
Outlook of Climate Change and Global Warming Global warming and climate change attributed to
increased emission of greenhouse gases have continued to be pressing issues in today s society
since they threaten the stability of the climate, population, and economy of the world ( Meeting the
Energy Challenge , 2007). The challenges associated with global warming and climate change is

Chicago School Of Social Ecology Theory
Chicago School of Social Ecology has played its vital role in the development of urban ecology
theory as the sociologists and ecologists from aforementioned school such as Robert Park and
Earnest Burgess propagated that Central Business District (CBD) impacts urban and downtown
planning, urban renewal, urban expansions, housing projects, commercial activities,
industrialization, community development and urban ecological system. Next, the Berlin School
of Urban Ecology also extended the aforementioned theoretical argument when the theorist Herbert
Sukopp elaborated on studying the importance of biodiversity patterns, environmental
transformations and natural changes in the global ecological system, processes and structures.
Therefore, the theorists, academicians, researchers, sociologists and environmentalists argue that
the theory of urban ecology broadly incorporates the facets of other crucial disciplines related to
education, health, economy, psychology, social sciences, sociology, anthropology, history,
environment, biosciences, economy, politics, international relations, geography, urban architecture

Facts About Organ Donation and Organ Transplantation Essay
In life, there is one thing that is inevitable and unavoidable. The subject is often avoided because
of fear. Death is universal. Every day eighteen people will die in the United States of America
waiting for an organ transplant. Organ Transplantation involves the giving of a healthy body part
from either a living or dead individual to another person. (Fundukian, Organ, p674 678) Medical
illnesses do not discriminate. It doesn t matter about wealth, race, religion, or even age. The types
of illnesses causing and leading to organ failure are heart disease, cirrhosis, cystic fibrosis, diabetes,

actually perform the surgery and follow up care for some time after the surgery. Financial
coordinators of course aid patients in the understanding of financial matters. Finally, social workers
help patients understand and cope with issues pertaining. Besides the above groups, United
Network Organ Sharing and Organ Procurement Transplantation Network are essential in organ

Analysis Of Waiting On A Song
♦♦ Waiting On A Song
One of the hardest working musicians out there, Auerbach is always in the studio, playing
shows, or working with music in some kind of way. Between The Black Keys, The Arcs, and his
solo projects, he keeps very busy. In Waiting On A Song, Hardworking Dan describes how
sometimes it can be difficult to write songs when you re trying real hard to do so. He reflects
throughout the song on how the songwriting process has always come easier to him by just going
through every day life and paying attention to his surroundings.
Waiting On A Song encompasses a warm rhythm section that starts from the very first measure and
continues throughout the opening track. Overall, the words and instruments reflect movement,
contentedness, and peace of mind. It s a great driving song.
♦♦♦ Malibu Man
The winding, dissonant, country guitar that plays in the background is the perfect focus for the
song. When the preciseness of the orchestra joins in with the guitar on the chorus, the song really
hits it s strong point.

After hiding in the back of the mix for the first two songs, Auerbach comes up real close with the
vocal line on Livin In Sin. The bouncing rhythm section and distant guitar playing matched with
Auerbach s close up and personal vocals helps the listener drift off into a joyous and different world.

Not In Touch With Personal Power
It doesn t take much effort to notice that some people are more empowered than others. But while
it may appear that empowered people have something empowered people don t, inherently we all
have the same power.
The defining factor is that some people are in touch with and connected to this power and some
people are not.
Reasons
And there are many reasons as to why someone is or is not in touch with their personal power.
This can relate to: the kind of childhood one has experienced; how one responded to their
childhood; the friends that one has and the people they have come across; how resilient one is and
many other factors.
There is also the social aspect here and how mainstream society s often discourage ones personal
power and actively foster dependence on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One can then end up being caught up in their feelings or thoughts and react to them. And how they
behave will then depend on these internal aspects and not conscious decisions.
Consequences
When this sense of personal power hasn t been realised it can lead to all kinds of consequences.
The desire to control others is one of these consequences and one of the more common examples.
Another thing that can happen is the idealisation and elevation of other people. To admire another
human being and to respect their achievements is one thing. It is another to see someone else as
being superior and as having something that one does not have themselves. When this takes place,
one is giving their own power away and denying what they have within them.
Certain societal figures can then feed on this power that is being given to them by people. This can
explain how authority figures, such as those in the political arena, often have so much power; it s
because so many people have renounced their own.

Abstract:
The productivity decline in the construction industry in recent years is mainly due to the schedule
and cost overruns, poor coordination between the project participants and ineffective planning.
Integrated project delivery (IPD) solves these issues by integrating project participants, processes,

future scope of the same.
Introduction
An Integrated Project Delivery team consists of key project stakeholders who come together during
the commencement of the project to set up a open collaborative process. As opposed to traditional
delivery methods, Integrated Project Delivery is a concurrent and mutli level leading to sharing of
knowledge and expertise. Much of this sharing happens through the digital media through Building
Information Modeling. This is a very comfortable means to share resources amongst the team. Thus,
the process builds a lot of stakeholder trust and respect where success and risks are shared amongst
everyone. Beyond all these benefits, Integrated Project Delivery presents a lot of positive
propositions to the major stakeholders, the owners, the constructors and the designers by bringing
them together very early into the process and the resulting a better understanding of the goals, the
logistics, the cost and the timeline of the project. Integrated Project Delivery, thus adds the

Cloud computing is an on demand service which has achieved great demand in corporate data

promoted and shared as virtual resources in a secure and extensible manner (X). Most small
business owners shifted to use the new technological trend by adopt cloud based information

According to Wang et al. (2008, p. 3), A computing cloud is a set of network enabled service,

Water Pollution Pollution is harmful to the world that we have come to love and know. Pollution s
harmful effects on the natural world, our environment is tragic. Pollution is a hazard to a human s
health, and causes a vulnerable stage to the Earth s ecosystem. There are several types of pollution
such as; noise, water, air, thermal, and many more. Water pollution, in particular, is the
contamination from harsh chemicals, from various outlets, that spread into the bodies of water that
will affect humans, land animals, aquatic animals, living plants, and many more.
First, there is point source pollution, pollution that comes from a single location. An example of a
point source pollution would be rainfall. Rainfall picks up and carries human made pollutants, such
as harmful gases, oils, and smoke, which are then deposited into a body of water such as lakes,
rivers, and groundwaters. Factories and sewage plants are two of the common types of point source
pollution. Another main water pollution type is nonpoint source pollution, pollution that comes from
multiple locations and sources. An example of nonpoint source pollutions would be, pesticide run
offs, urban runoffs, bacteria or nutrients from livestock and crops, harmful chemicals from factories,
and many more. As technology improves, scientists are able to detect more pollutants, and at
smaller concentrations, in Earth s freshwater bodies. Containing traces of contaminants ranging
from birth control pills and sunscreen

Brown Shirt Essay
Brown Shirts The most dynamic segment of the Nazi movements before it came to power was
Sturmabteilung (SA) or Brown Shirts which protected Hitler s political meetings from the
attacks by rivals (Campbell 659). SA functioned as a paramilitary wing of the Nazi party during
the raise of Hitler in 1920s and 1930s. Their name Brown Shirts came after the uniform that they
used which was inspired by the Mussolini s Black Shirts, and their main duty was to eliminate all
the enemies and coordinated allies once the Nazis were in the control of the German state, 1933.
SA was consisted by Freikorps, post World War One nationalist and people who opposed the
Versailles treaty while the Nazi Partyor NSDAP was created from German people which... Show

In 1931, the captain of SA was changed and the new leader was Ernst RЕ‘hm, who created a
system structure in the SA by putting Hitler as the supreme leader of SA and then by putting
himself as the chief of staff. Since SA grew while RЕ‘hm was in charge, RЕ‘hm started to
believe that a revolution will happen and he would be on top of it (Hancock 2). Furthermore, he
suggested SA and army to be combined for his new force, and this suggestion horrified senior
officers. Senior officers of Reichswehr became horrified because traditionally they have seemed
SA as street thugs without discipline and class who did bad things to humanity. Among these
beliefs, Hitler also was concerned with the chief of SA who was becoming a threat for the Nazi
party. All in all, RЕ‘hm was not satisfied with Hitlers choices and he sends Hitler a letter writing
that he is betraying everyone and that his commanders are not the ones who will lead to a
revolution as SA would ( The Sturmabteilung or SA 5) . The fate of RЕ‘hm changed after this letter
was written since Hitler made a deal with Reichswehr and decided to get rid of officers of SA.
This resulted to the Night of the Long Knives which took place in June 1934. The Night of Long
Knives is known as the purge where SS or the first paramilitary army of Nazi Party arrests and
kills the officers and the chief of SA which has been a threat for Hitler. By the execution of

Reflective Report
Reflective Report From the very beginning of this semester we are being taught how to write a
proper project for something. So from the first class we have been shown that to write a proper
project we will have to follow certain criterion. This criterion will make the project look proper
or perfect. With the support of our honorable course instructor we were learning the steps of
writing a project. From the very beginning we have been told that we will have to make a project
during the semester within a group. There will be five members in each group. So we made our
group. The most important thing is that we had been told we will have to complete the project
within five lac. The money can be less than five lac but can not exceed... Show more content on

If anyone sponsors our project then they will also not be getting any profit out of this project.
For this reason our project is non project finance. We have been taught how to mitigate risk in a
project. There might be different kinds of risks. We also have different kinds of risk in our
project. These may be liaison risk, unavailability of trainer, mike, meeting place, and many more.
We have been taught how to mitigate these kinds of risks. There are three methods of solving
these kinds of risks. These are delegation of risks and direct actions and ignorable. There are also
three types of risks and these are crucial risk, nominal risks, and finally ignorable risks. We have
been taught that crucial risks are those risks that might affect out project the most. Nominal affect
out project a little bit and ignorable is what we can ignore. Ignorable is something we can do
nothing about it. Nominal risks might be imperfect weather and flood and many more. We also
have been taught what kinds of risk fall under which level of risks. We also have been taught why
this type of risks fall under this type. We have been taught how to define activities that is to be done
in a project. In our project we have different kinds or activities. These are select location,
accommodation, food arrangement, testing land, meeting arrangement and many more. Without
these activities we cannot run this project. We have

Behavior Intervention
Children with ADHD often act immaturely and have difficulty learning how to control their
impulsiveness and hyperactivity. Behaviour intervention helps the child understand his/her feelings
and actions, it helps in changing their thinking and coping and thus may lead to changes in their
behaviour. The support might be practical support, like help in organizing tasks or school
homework. Alternatively, the support might be in self monitoring one s behaviour and giving self
praise or rewards for acting in a desired way such as controlling anger or thinking before acting.
Parents and teachers use some behavioural intervention techniques to help the childto learn how to
control his/her behaviour. Perhaps the most important and effective of these

This chapter will present the studies related to growth and development of the tourism industry
which is pro poor tourism. The review of the literature for this study focuses on benefits, image
building and pro poor tourism itself. An extensive literature review has been conducted in order to
shed some light on the various sectors and concepts which may influence these phenomena called
pro poor tourism. It discussed recent trends within the pro poor that support the growth and
development of tourism. This examined the perceived benefits of tourism to the poor community
and how image building help to give poor communities some benefits.
Pro poor tourism
As stated by Pulido Fernandez in 2012, there is a wide range acknowledgement on the economic
connection of tourism (economic regeneration throughout multiplier, enhancement of balance of
payments, employment generation, poverty reduction and etc.), that led on many occasions to
overemphasize its purpose as an instrument of economic development. Tourism is often described
as an action in the direction of incrementing economic assimilation by decreasing natural and
human barriers to trade off and propagates in international capital and labor flows. The profitable
activities and the standard living of the populations can be enhanced by sustainable tourism (Sama,
2011). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jobs generated directly by the tourism industry are created in hotels, travel agencies, airlines,
passenger services, restaurants and recreational facilities. The most direct effect of urban tourism
in society is tourism related employment, which give a means of support for local residents and

  • 2. Motives In King Lear A person s worth is never defined by their external appearances, such as their physical features or titles, but it lies in the internal thoughts that they base their actions upon. Act I of King Lear, by William Shakespeare, explores the idea that individuals are defined by their personal values and motives. This can be seen in the deceitful Goneril and Regan, the good Cordelia, and the knowledgeable fool. First, both Goneril and Regan give beautiful words of love to their father, King Lear, but neither sisters have any genuine love for him. During Lears stay at Goneril s residence, Goneril tells her servant, Put on what weary negligence you please,/ ... If he distaste it, let him to our sister,/ Whose mind and mine I know in that are one,/ Not to be overruled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two sisters plan to neglect and discredit their father and his authority. This act of unkindness shows that their words of love were only a facade, and their true natures exist as unloving and uncaring daughters. In contrast, Cordelia cannot profess her love to Lear through words of flattery, however, her love for her father is deeper and truer than Goneril s and Regan s. When Cordelia is disowned by Lear and forced to leave, she says to her two sisters, But yet, alas, stood I within his grace,/ I would prefer him to a better place (I.i.275 276). Despite Lear s rash actions of abandoning Cordelia, she still loves her father and wishes to take care of him. Cordelia is not able value her father through words, but her actions define her nature as a daughter and the love she has for Lear. Lastly, the fool, generally known for their playful antics and humor, displays wisdom and even offers advice to Lear. Right before Lear leaves to live with Regan, the fool advises, Thou shouldst not have been old till thou hadst been/ wise. (I.v.42 43). On the surface, the social title of the fool gives the impression that the person is an inane individual, and his outfit makes him appear to be silly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Zoo s Efforts to Help Conservation Essay Since approximately 1250 B.C., ancient Egyptians had created and practiced the capture and display of animals in what are now known as zoos (Fravel). Records describe such exotic animals as birds, lions, giraffes, and tigers in captivity (Fravel). Since then, zoos have continued to entertain millions with the exciting chance to view exotic animals up close and personal. Even in ancient Greece, exotic animals were on display in fighting arenas, and in enclosed viewing areas. Originally in America, zoos were just created so that royalty and the wealthy could flaunt their exotic animals to the public (Leolupus). Today, with speciesthreatened and habitats disappearing worldwide, zoos are serving a new purpose other than the mere exhibition of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Examples of zoos that are well known for such programs include Animal Kingdom in Orlando, the Oakland Zoo, and the San Diego Zoo. These three have won multiple awards and achievements for breeding, conservation, and reintroduction of endangered species to their natural habitats. Many zoos across North America participate in such programs like the Species Survival Plan Program (SSP), which strives to increase the numbers of endangered species in zoos while ensuring healthy and self sustaining populations (Traw). According to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), programs like SSP have succeeded in increasing endangered species populations of many animals, like red wolves, snow leopards, and giant pandas within the last three decades (Traw). It has been estimated that the AZA has established around 113 SSP s spanning over 181 endangered species within a variety of zoos worldwide (Traw). Breeding programs are extremely vital to conservation efforts in zoos; without them, endangered species would be in serious threat of extinction in their natural habitat. However, these breeding efforts also have important standards. They make sure to breed the animals responsibly, healthily, and genetically safe. In some cases, the goal and outcome of breeding programs is the reintroduction of the animals to their natural habitat, which has a large impact on the recuperation of that animal s population.Reintroduction is the goal andfinal product of breeding programs. ... • 4. What Is The Mystery Of Jay Gatsby The mystery of Jay Gatsby is the only thing that keep me intrigued at times where the long winded descriptions and adjectives became a bit too much for me. I did not get the concept of the book at first because I thought everything from the beginning to the end would be told from Jay Gatsby s point of view. No one seemed to know anything factual about this man, yet everyone knew of him because of his wealth and lavish parties. I was surprised at how low key the book or rather the author introduced him, physically. I thought he would have a grand entrance, not something so understated and subtle. The extravagant parties he hosted prompted me to believe he was more like the rich people in this book, snobby and arrogant. Now I have the impression ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Intervention Strategy For Verizon Communication Introduction Conflict resolution is necessary to keep focus and sustain the positive process. Collection of all the facts should be done prior to attempted resolution. Communication to the parties in a private setting to get their perspective is the idea. Only give opinions afterwards. Unless all is understood one cannot move onto mediation. After making the decision, be resolute in the delivery. Nationalism could be a kind of religion promoted by the state in order to help supplement obedience and conformity to the wishes of the state. Like all religions, nationalism tries to answer the problems of life, for instance, who the person is, from where do they come from, what is the person s legacy and etc. All these questions could sometimes be answered through nationalism and that s why some people could be extremely nationalistic. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In some way religious nationalists often occur to their religion traditionally and follow specific ways that their ancestors believed in because religious people would only refer to their religion s text but religious nationalists would refer to ancestors. Religion and nationalism could sometimes be separated by the idea of politicizing religion or having the influence on religion to politics. For example in Saudi Arabia they have the effect of religion on their political ideologies and they make laws according to the Islam. The most reason why religion can be similarized with nationality is because it gives a sense of national unity and it s a belief shared by a group of people and that kind of shows how its similar to nationalism. The idea of religion supports the persons national identity, shares similar ethnicity with a group of people, language and culture also that s how nationalism and religion are similar. Whatever the case may be, the modern religion and nationalism, nationalism would win over religion because everyone sort of follows tradition more than religion these days and tradition could lead to a specific belief and build up a national group. So modern people would put nationalism before their religion. An example for this is the Islamic extremist group ISIS on how they turned religion into nationalism but follow nationalistic belief and act as one more than they would follow the actual Islamic ... I.Introduction In the August 2015, most of the Australian business media reported that the board of Federation Centre ( FDC ) sacked Steven Sewell as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and then replaced him with Angus McNaughton as a new CEO. This removal subsequently surprised investors and markets because it occurred just two months after the completion of the merger between FDC and Novion Property Group ( Novion ). Moreover, there is no further explanation from the board of FDC about the reason of removal Steven Sewell. Consequently, the shares of the FDC declined 6% since the replacement. The removal of a director by the board in the FDC case creates legal and ethical issues, which ultimately led to the onset of commercial issues. Despite the legal, ethical and commercial issues, this case is strongly indicated that there are some problems in the mechanism of removal directors stipulated in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) ( Corporations Act ) S 203D and S 203E. This indication is underpinned by some cases in the Australian court in which directors are removed also by the board. Therefore, this paper will analyse the legal, ethical and commercial issues regarding with the removal of FDC s director, discuss the problem in the procedure of removal directors stipulated in the legislation, and compare other regulations in the common law and civil law countries. • 15. Analysis Of The Book The Great Gatsby By F. Scott... Part two begins slowly and adds more confusion. The story is overly convoluted with new characters and new events. Instead of Chris working on figuring out who s after him and finding the chip, the story changes directions and it turns into stopping a major explosion and about a new world order. Also, James dominates part two, not Chris. In fact, characters well established in part one, are not active in part two, such as Kurt Slowensky. Part two spends too much time on the hypnosis scene, the political unrest, Big Mike (Mike Berg), dreams about James and Chris, and flashbacks about James time in Somalia, and other series of events. The concern is that the first parts of the story (part 1) setup a strong expectation that this story would be about retrieving information from James memory regarding the location of the chip. However, part two feels like an entirely different script. Thus, it would benefit the script to focus on the main storyline set up in the first script. However, part 2 offers more action, which is absent in part one. Both part 1 and part 2 need to be combined, but it needs to focus on ONE main goal. Too many flashbacks confuse the audience. The only flashbacks should be relevant to Chris finding the chip or putting pieces together about who might be after him. Granted, he may stumble upon a bigger conspiracy, but it has to be fluidly connected to part one. The timeline in part two remains unclear. Also, at times, it s unclear if James is truly ... In a democratic society, it is generally considered the Government s role to promote morality and justice within its citizens and seek to restrict supposedly immoral and unjust acts. Thus if an act is to be considered immoral, it seems obvious to suggest that the government is justified in restricting it regardless of whether it is harmful to others. However, since everybody has a different understanding of morality and freedom, no Government could legitimately restrict an act on the basis of it being immoral . While this notion may be agreeable to some, it s difficult to justify given Mill s other beliefs surrounding harm. There are many acts which may be accepted in public by some and not others, for many there is little wrong with homosexuality being exhibited in public, but for others even the mere thought of it being practised in private causes them great distress. Although it s not obvious where the line should be drawn in terms of public indecency, it seems obvious that everybody has a limit as highlighted by Joel Feinberg (offence to others). Feinberg used a thought experiment concerning a ride on a bus in which the people around you begin to perform slowly more intolerable acts beginning with mere horrible smells and concluding with sexual acts being performed on an animal. This demonstrates that if we wish to accept making sex acts with an animal on a bus illegal, we may not be able to argue for it without also legitimising a restriction on other more mundane acts of public indecency such as picking your nose. This paper is going to demonstrate some resources and processes that are in place to help individuals obtain health care at the appropriate health care setting. Body When focusing on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Systems strategies for improvement with unnecessary emergency room visits, a major key area is accessibility to health care at the appropriate health care setting. For many years, there has been the perception that the emergency department is the only place for someone who is uninsured or underinsured can go to receive the needed and appropriate health care, and in some situations that may be the case. (Rhodes et al, 2013, p.394) Due to the decreases in reimbursements for the publicly funded, more and more physicians are opting out to treating these patients, thus leading to an increase in emergency department utilization. • 26. Alternative Dispute Resolution Essay Within the first part of my essay alternative dispute resolution (ADR) will be examined. I will have a critical look at the key types as well as their usefulness in fulfilling the objective of access to justice. ADR represents a variety of processes all aiming to resolve disputes between potential litigants out of court. The parties agree on the type of process used and the independent third party. The main reason for adopting ADR, however, is dissatisfaction with litigation. Especially after the introduction of new issue fees that came into force on January 4th , many people are deterred from bringing their disputes to court by the financial barriers. Colin Ettinger, President of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, describes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A further advantage is the high settlement rate and that the parties normally keep to mediated agreements, as they have constructively worked on it rather than have a decision imposed on them. (Data source: http://adrr.com/adr3/other.htm). The mediator s decision is non binding (except when it is signed) and in the case of a failed mediation, court, tribunals or other ADR options can be the following steps. However, this can be a disadvantage because a failing mediation and the following measures can be very time consuming. Conciliation has some overlaps with mediation but the conciliator takes a more active role in leading the parties to a consensus of opinion. The disputants do not usually meet; the conciliator conducts discussions separately with each party before he gives guidance on settling the dispute. His opinion then forms the basis of an agreement. The parties are free to agree on this. Concerning employment disputes, sometimes the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) suggests that disputes should be settled by means of conciliation. If the process is successful, mediation and conciliation are good examples for overcoming the problems of litigation and facilitating the ease of access to justice. Nevertheless, the non binding agreement is the first essential problem of both mediation and conciliation because a solution is no use when one party does not accept it. The second problem is that, in the absence of a third ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Originally, Obama s health care plan did not include a mandate and was criticized. In the Jan. 2008 presidential primary debate, his response to the criticism was, A mandate means that in some fashion, everybody will be forced to buy health insurance. Instead of going that route, his plan, he said, emphasizes lowering costs. ... the government will compel you to buy health insurance. It forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can t afford it, and you pay a penalty if you don t. (Cline). At the time of his election, voters were under the impression that Obama was against the idea of an individual health insurance mandate. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in February of 2008, speaking of his opponent at the time, Hillary Clinton, Obama states: she mandates that everybody buy health care. She d have the government force every individual to buy insurance and I don t have such a mandate because I don t think the problem is that people don t want health insurance, it s that they can t afford it...I focus more on lowering costs...I could mandate everybody to buy a house, and that would solve the problem of homelessness. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature and his held in high regard, but not quite as high as Faulkner and Hemingway. Steinbeck died of a heart attack in Salinas, California in 1963 (Levant). Overview Steinbeck published the short story The Chrysanthemums in 1937 and included as part of his collection The Long Valley the following year. In the story, Henry Allen and his wife own a ranch. Elisa, Henry s wife, is working with her chrysanthemums. He suggests they go to the town, Salinas, to celebrate their new business. A tinker in a wagon turns into their yard. He asks whether she has any work for him,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She reveals her hair for the first time in the story. When the tinker leaves, she goes through an entire transformation. She takes her clothes off, takes a bath, examines her nude skin, and then redresses herself. Elisa puts on beautifully feminine underwear, clothes, and makeup. This look draws a stark contrast with her bulky gardening clothes. She is now revealed as a sexualized woman instead of a simple tomboy. At the end of the story, she pulls up her coat collar to cover her tears, implying a return to her repressed state in which she has lived most of her life. The chrysanthemums symbolize both Elisa and the limited scope of her life. Like Elisa, the chrysanthemums are lovely, strong, and thriving. Their flowerbed, like Elisa s house, is tidy and scrupulously ordered. Elisa explicitly identifies herself with the flowers, even saying that she becomes one with the plants when she tends to them. When the tinker notices the chrysanthemums, Elisa visibly brightens, just as if he had noticed her instead. She offers the chrysanthemums to him at the same time she offers herself, both of which he ignores and tosses aside. His rejection of the flowers also mimics the way society has rejected women as nothing more than mothers and housekeepers. Just like her, the flowers are unobjectionable and also unimportant: both are merely decorative and add little value to the world. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If one man in a room has five dollars and another man in the same room has fifty dollars are we supposed to hold a gun to the temple of the man with fifty dollars in order to force him into giving the man with five dollars some of his wealth? This is type of consequentialist or utilitarian equality of outcome that was supported by some Socialist political economists of the nineteenth and twentieth century such as Marx and Engels who would dare to go even farther in advocating for the abolition and confiscation of propertyon top of a heavy graduated income tax (Marx 18). Other theorists from the Enlightenment that were more liberally inclined such as Adam Smith and John Lockeadvocated for a more deontologist framework where some would consider equal opportunity takes precedent. This can most notably be seen through Smith when he called for an exact administration of justice, and the creation and maintenance of public institutions that would be advantageous for society as a whole (Smith Lecture). In other words, a just infrastructure that would be just for all men, (women still did not possess the same rights as men at this time) in which they hoped gave citizens an equal shot at the market and life. In Waiting On A Song, Hardworking Dan describes how sometimes it can be difficult to write songs when you re trying real hard to do so.
