According to official estimates, the 2011 tsunami washed about 5 million tons of debris into the ocean. About two-thirds of that quickly sank. The remainder was carried along the coast of Japan and then out into the Pacific Ocean. The trash from the March 11, 2011 tsunami began to reach the west coast of the USA in 2012 and 2013, creating new, complex, and unexpected ecological and environmental problems.
A series of waves in a water body caused by the displacement of a large volume of water, generally in an ocean or a large lake. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other underwater explosions (including detonations, landslides, glacier calvings, meteorite impacts and other disturbances) above or below water all have the potential to generate a tsunami. Unlike normal ocean waves, which are generated by wind, or tides, which are generated by the gravitational pull of the Moon and the Sun, a tsunami is generated by the displacement of water by a large event.

This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. 3. About cyclon
• A hurricane is also known as a typhoon (Persian word-Tufan) or
cyclone. A hurricane is a migratory tropical cyclone that originates
over the ocean in certain regions near the equator. It forms between
the region of 5° to 25° north and south latitude from the equator.
Hurricanes arise in the western Indian regions including the
Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. Thus, India, Bangladesh, China,
Philippines, Japan, Mexico, United States of America and maximum
countries of the Caribbean Sea are highly influenced by it. Nepal is
safe from direct influence of hurricanes. Hurricanes are very
destructive. They destroy life and property in a very large scale.
4. Causes of cyclon
• Warm water, moist warm air, and light upper-level winds are the key
ingredients to the formation of hurricanes. Hurricanes begin when
masses of warm, moist air from oceans surfaces starts to rise quickly,
and collide with masses of cooler air.
5. Effects of cyclon
• 1. Storm–surge or sea–surge causes floods which sweep life and
property.
• 2. As the ocean is violent during a hurricane, any means of
transportation in the ocean isnot safe. It can cause even a very strong
ship to sink.
• 3. The wave formed by a hurricane causes the loss of life and property
in coastal regions.
• 4. Sometimes, it becomes a cause of a heavy rain as well.
• 5. It causes landslides and destroys development structures.
6. Safety measures against a hurricane
• 1. The government should predict the time, direction and magnitude
of hurricanes with the help of hurricane monitoring centers.
• 2. The structures made in coastal regions and in oceans must be
strong to be safe from the effect of hurricanes.
• 3. Emergency shelters should be constructed near oceans to save the
lives of the people.
• 4. Public awareness should be provided to the people of the countries
who are facing hurricanes.
• 5. Alertness should be maintained by all the stakeholders like health
team, volunteers, etc.
