Experiments
Benjamin Birney
Process My first step was to get all
my essential backgrounds,
props and characters for
the experiment, I design
the background to match
that of a private gravestone
on a dark stormy night with
lots of pouring rain. Thanks
to the drawing tool I was
able draw out the exact
layout for the background
while leaving room for thee
foreground. While also
using the paint bucket tool
to cut my time in half
getting the colours right.
Process
Next step was to animate
out all the exact scenes
from the layers, props and
characters. One of those
scenes was a ghost finding
the gravestone and
hopefully wanting to rest in
eternal slumber from the
storm. By turning off some
layers on different fames of
video I could easier animate
the next scenes.
Process
The scene showed that
the storm became to
wild a accidently struck
the grave stone
destroying it leaving the
ghost stuck in the storm.
The only tool I was
using, was the move
tool, to move the ghost
and the lightning bolt on
the gravestone.
Process
 Final for the last
animating for the
experiment was
showing the
aftermath, of the
ghost enrage that
he’s stuck in the
storm. I also used
the last of my props
that being the
speech bubble and
the angry ghost.
Process
My last step was to adding
in all the sound effects for
the background, elements
and the ghost. For the
background I used a
stormy rainforest sound,
while for the other props
like the lightning and the
ghost I acquired a ghostly
howl and some thunder
claps, all of these sounds I
required from a website
called Freesound.
Reflection
 What elements of your experiments will you include in
your final product?
Some elements I will use in my final product for example
me constantly using the move tool pixel by pixel to show
that my background and other props are constantly
moving to make it life like.
 Refer to the brief: Ghost Game
I made a custom background of a dark stormy night for
my experiment, I may be able to use it in some part of
my final project.
