Tell me in no more than20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
My idea is to continuemy audio Crime story of
Branded For Errorintomultipleepisodes.
Why have youdecided to makeit? With how muchgood feedback I got frommy
friendsand family, specifically they wanted more
story from the two arsondetectives solvingcrimes.
The certainaspects friendsandfamily enjoyed was
the fitting music and the authentic sound effects.
Altogether thanksto their feedback and the noir
mood I wasstill in, it only feltright tocontinue the
story for my audience and myself.
What aboutyourproject makesit importantto
you?
Fromthe story thatI made so far, to me the story
just feels incomplete, I made these characters and
this scenario toonly complete the project but to
have a little fun along the way, so thought why not
complete the story of the two detectives. It also
felt important that the listeners of the pilot toget a
complete story.
Outline someof the initial influences onyour
idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paperbased
activity)
Some influences L..A Noire game defiantly made
me want tomake a crime story over a ghost or an
audiostory. The mindsetat the time I was only
thinking about the detectives’ stories asmy main
product asmy best choice. Some other potential
researchtargets could be a few detective podcasts
as well as some audiobooks.
What effect do youwant to haveon your
audience when they see yourproject?
The experience of just listening fromthe
perspective of one of the detectives of the 1940s
and how they will solve this mystery once andfor
all. While also keeping the listeners engagedand
wantingmore for the storiesthat are yet tocome.
Describe the tone/mood/styleofyourproject
[which productiontechniques/characteristicsare
youemploying?]
I plan on using Mystery as a way of presentingthe
crimesthatthe main characters will have towork
out and solve. I alsoplanon usingsuspense to not
only keep the characterson edge butalso the
audience. Detectivesare also something I will add
to not only give detailed and in dept analyse, but it
will also be a way to drive the script. Noir will also
be used tohelp the audience imagine what a dark
and evil place the maincharactersmust tread
through, grimandgritty. I will also use specific
music and sound effects to help match the gerne
of what I’m trying tocreate. A Historical settingwill
also be used asthe noir style takesplace around
the 1940sat the time where WorldWar 2 wasstill
in motion. Style will be an audiopodcast.
Why have youdecided to makeyour project in
this style?
The reasonis because makingnoir into anaudio
podcast is easier because I am more familiar and
experienced with the software. I alsofind the
editing fun because the editing allows me to mix’s
soundsandmusic together in order toget the
perfect sound. comparedto other styles like a
magazine or posters, the audio work hasgivenme
the most positive feedback so that inspires
confidents tomake more audio crime stories.
