This document provides information about upcoming events at a school including:
- Lunch and flex schedules for the week of September 19th
- A career fair on September 22nd from 11am-3pm and school expo that evening from 7-8:30pm
- Awards night on September 23rd at 6:30pm for juniors and 7:45pm for seniors
- A JV volleyball tournament on September 24th
- A school council meeting on September 26th at 7pm in the library
- Early dismissal on September 28th
It also lists open house dates for various post-secondary institutions in October and November.

to students as it will be used for the
Career Fair…
Please note, room 39 – Learnings
Commons, is unavailable on September
22.
19. Flex Basics
At the start of Flex, the teacher may release students who are
caught up on their work. If you are not caught up, you are to
work in that room to get caught up, and the teacher will be
available to help you.
If you are released, you may go to another room where you
will catch up on work for other courses, or if you are caught
up in all classes, you can review or do something else that you
could learn about in school.
You are REQUIRED to go to a SUPERVISED SPACE during
FLEX — FLEX attendance is NOT OPTIONAL.
Most Sr. High rooms will be open. If a room is not available,
there will be a note posted on the door.

Some work experience students are still missing
one or two items. See Ms Wegner immediately to
ensure you do not have to pay the performance
bond to stay in work experience.
RAP students – please check with your employer
about your evaluations, every 125 hours
completed required an evaluation.

meeting for the schools in Alberta

23. THIS THURSDAY
Just to remind students, the post-secondary
schools are here only in the evening from 7 –
8:30, so if you want to make an informed
decision to attend a school after graduation,
please attend and speak to the reps.
Ms Wegner has some information to share if you
cannot make it, plus she is arranging for as many
reps to visit again throughout first semester.

24. GRADE 11 STUDENTS
If you are taking a grade 12 course in grade 11,
please be aware the mark does count towards
your average when universities consider early
acceptance/overall average, whereas, courses
only taken in grade 12, the self-declared top
marks are considered.

Many universities offer scholarships for grade 11
marks
For The University of Lethbridge, you apply to
them in grade 11.

26. APPLYING TO POST-SECONDARY
Many schools waive the application fee when
you apply during the open house visit.
For SAIT, you can apply online on the open
house date and your fee can also be waived.
