This document provides a strategic roadmap for developing Moldova's IT sector. It summarizes trends that will shape global demand for IT services, including the rise of intelligent automation, augmented reality, drones, and data as a service. It analyzes Moldova's strengths like a multilingual workforce and proximity to Europe. The roadmap recommends interventions in skills development, infrastructure, business ecosystem, and investment promotion to achieve nonlinear growth in Moldova's IT exports and employment through 2022. Persistent pursuit across industry, government, donors, corporations, and academia is essential for success.

A quick glance at this month’s Seek ICT job advert figures (Fig.1) indicates that the usual upward trend for this time of the year is currently tracking below the same period for 2015. And in the NZ Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) jobs online monthly report for February 2016, the all vacancies index fell by 0.5 percent with IT decreasing by 0.2 percent. Over the year to February, job vacancies increased in all of the industry groups, up 4.7 percent, while IT vacancies fell by 7.0 per cent. This slight trough in the current ICT job adverts market needs to be viewed in a global context, which reveals a robustly growing ICT industry where demand for skills continues to outstrip supply.

In this presentation we have tried to put some important find outs from the same report and few other news and information from global media.
Disruptive changes to business models will have a profound
impact on the employment landscape over the coming
years. Many of the major drivers of transformation currently
affecting global industries are expected to have a significant
impact on jobs, ranging from significant job creation to job
displacement, and from heightened labour productivity to
widening skills gaps. In many industries and countries, the
most in-demand occupations or specialties did not exist
10 or even five years ago, and the pace of change is set
to accelerate.
This presentation was given during the 7th CAE conference held in Dubai between 12-13 December 2017. It highlights the transforming role of internal auditor in the age of AI and provides some examples of how AI can help and augment the role of the internal auditor.

Ashok Srivastava at AI Frontiers : Using AI to Solve Complex Economic ProblemsAI Frontiers
Nearly half of all small businesses fail within their first 5 years. However, AI-driven solutions can help solve complex economic problems for consumers and small businesses like missed bill payments, insufficient capital, overinvestment in fixed assets, and more.
Ashok Srivastava discusses technology's role in solving economic problems and details how Intuit is using its unrivaled financial dataset to power prosperity around the world. Leveraging technology enablers like deep learning, natural language processing, and automated reasoning and combining with a delightful end-user experience and sophisticated UX, Intuit is using technology to help its users have more confidence in their financial management.
Kai-Fu Lee at AI Frontiers : The Era of Artificial IntelligenceAI Frontiers
In this talk, I will talk about the four waves of Artificial Intelligence (AI) , and how AI will permeate every part of our lives in the next decade. I will also talk about how this will be different from previous technology revolutions -- it will be faster and be driven by not one superpower, but two (US and China). AI will add $16 trillion to our global GDP, but also cause many challenges that will be hard to solve. I will talk in particular about AI replacing routine jobs -- the consequences, the proposed solutions that don't work (such as UBI), and end with a blueprint of co-existence between humans and AI.
Emerging technologies continue to affect the way we live, work, and interact with one another. Business is affected by emerging technologies. In today’s world, business operates in the era of data. With the increasingly massive amount of data generated daily by customers and the complexity of customers, businesses can no longer rely on traditional methods to thrive and maintain relevance within the fierce competition. Technology has been a major driver of change in business. Cloud computing, Internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain are the emerging technologies that may create winners and losers. Augmented intelligence in banking and capital marketsMitchell Feldman
Financial Services Organisations have been tangling with data since the very beginning, pioneering the use of analytics to derive insights for creating better, more profitable business models. But as we look ahead, the most impactful data-driven solutions will go well beyond analytics, and will include built-in intelligence based on deep learning technology that augments an organisation’s capabilities in compelling new ways. Solutions that see, hear, speak, and understand our needs and emotions—using natural methods of communication, enhanced by vast amounts of data from sources as varied as search engines, news, videos, and more—will transform every aspect of the business.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
