- The 16th edition has been replaced by the newly published 17th edition.
- Harmonization with international standards required some restructuring and removal of some existing regulations as well as some new regulations.
- Key chapters outline the scope and applicability of the regulations, fundamental principles of protection, and new definitions added to Part 2.

Required Test Reports & Cerificates for LED LuminairesMichael Santiago
I had the great privilege to promote Advanced Lighting Company (ALC) to Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu (RCJY) through a technical presentation called "Third Party Test Reports & Certificates for Indoor & Outdoor LED Luminaires".
I was able to give an overview about LM-79-08, LM-80-08, ISTMT, TM-21-11, LM-82-12 and IEC 62461 among a few. I also discussed about UL Listing, LED Chip Datasheet and LED Driver Datasheet as required by the end-user.
This positioned ALC and its products as a qualified vendor and supplier of high quality LED Luminaires in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia. This gave a positive impression to ALC as a local Saudi manufacturing company but have a good business reputation in the market.
Since then ALC has been considered vendor listed in several ARAMCO, RCJY and SABIC projects, and more.
From potato chips to building automation and controls, standardisation facilitates process streamlining. This is specifically true for building automation and control systems when considering the multitude of components and the tailor-made per individual building service and/or equipment aspects.
Whether the focus is on design/specification, installation or operation/maintenance of building automation and controls, having a strong basis in terms of standardisation is of equal added value.
Further emphasis is given when keeping in mind the overarching role and deep impact of building automation and controls on actual building performance (e.g. energy, environment, indoor environment quality).
This webinar aims to provide a solid foundation for building automation and controls standards and to showcase EN ISO 16484 and EN 15232, relevant for all building professionals.
This paper explains the project which is a special kind of circular LED display. With the
help some mechanical assembly, LED count, hardware requirement, and hence overall cost is
cut to very affordable price. Also, maintenance and repairing of the display is so easy, that
anyone having a little electronics knowledge can take care of this. All the synchronizing can be
implemented through software. First of its kind, made using the 20-pin 8051 series
microcontroller, this project use the principle of Space Multiplexing. This propeller display is
mechanically scanned and displays the characters in digital format. Made from scrap it can be
used anywhere and everywhere and the most amazing fact about this display is its crystal clear
display. This display consists of just 7 bright LEDs which are rotated to show the display. For
building this project, requirement is just a small 20 pin microcontroller, a position encoder, and
LEDs. This display can show the messages, which will require a whopping 525 LEDs. So
hardware and cost minimization is achieved.
