The document provides an overview of the structure and contents of the 17th Edition "Regs", which contains regulations for electrical installations. It is divided into seven main parts, with each part covering different topics. The parts are further divided into chapters and sections. The summary provides the high-level topics covered in three of the main parts:
- Part 1 covers requirements for electrical safety, including terminology, objectives, and fundamental principles.
- Part 4 addresses protection against electric shock, thermal effects, overcurrent, and voltage disturbances.
- Part 6 focuses on inspection and testing, including initial verification, periodic inspection, certification, and reporting.
Capacitance Sensing - Layout Guidelines for PSoC CapSenseRuth Moore
Adopting capacitive sensing as an interface technology in high-volume, high-visibility applications such as portable media players and mobile handsets has created demand for the same technology in more conventional consumer electronics. This demand has led to significant innovation and several competitive technologies are available. The PSoC architecture allows designers to incorporate multiple capacitive sensing design elements into an application. Buttons, sliders, touchpads, and proximity detectors are supported simultaneously with the same device in the same circuit. Use PSoC to scan capacitive sensors and use the activation status to drive LEDs, control a motor, drive a speaker, and so on. A concept called dynamic reconfiguration allows the CapSense application to use more than 100% of the system resources by reconfiguring as needed on-the-fly. With so many potential applications, design rules must function more as guidelines. This document describes some layout and system design guidelines for PSoC CapSense.
CapSense Capacitive Sensing Best PracticesRuth Moore
Adopting capacitive sensing as an interface technology in high-volume, high-visibility applications such as portable media players and mobile handsets has created demand for this technology in more conventional consumer electronics. This demand has led to significant innovation, and several competitive technologies are available. While these technologies each have their respective differences, the underlying principle is the measurement of capacitance between a plate (the sensor) and its environment. Compared to modules and fixed-function ICs, programmable ICs allow more flexibility in design as custom code is used to develop solutions. PSoC® CapSense combines a microcontroller, configurable digital and analog resources, on-board memory, and other features that allow flexibility in capacitive system design. This application note gives an overview of best practices for CapSense design.

Our IST testing machine we purchased will be installed and running in the next couple of weeks. I’ve attached the relevant section from the IPC test methods manual. It is a little dry but does explain reasonably well what IST testing is about, particularly the first section titled “Scope”.
When scientifically planned and conducted, Burn-In and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) provide one of the most effective methods of reliability screening at the component, sub-assembly, assembly, and system levels. Burn-in and ESS have been practiced in industry for many years, yet they are often conducted without scientific understanding, design, planning, quantification, and optimization. Based on his two co-authored books in the subject, the author of this talk presents a high-level introduction to the quantification of reliability-centered Burn-In and ESS.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
