i. Adhere to requirements in ProjectSafety Plan;
ii. Traffic Safety Buffers and Worker Safety Buffers to be as Chapter 3 fig.3.3
from RTA Manual where practicable;
iii. Works undertaken adjacentto live traffic shall be clearly indicated
including correctmulti-language warning signs;
iv. All personnel shall be briefed on RTA standards;
v. For night time works signs and cones using flashing lights shall be used;
vi. Lane closures and diversions to be in line with RTA manual;
vii. Tail vehicle to be fitted with flashing directional arrows;
viii. Tail vehicle to allow for curves and hills in roads when situating;
ix. Tail vehicle shall be in contact with supervisor atall times by radio or
mobile;
x. Ensure that where required a flagman is used to control site personnel
and vehicles crossing traffic routes (only 80kph and below);
xi. Flagmen shall wear hi-viz clothing;
xii. Flagmen shall use flashing batons for nightworks,flags for day works;
xiii. Flagmen shall never stand in live traffic roads;
xiv. Flagmen shall notallow workers to congregate around them;
xv. Work area adjacentto live traffic shall be protected with hard barrier
protection to standards and specific to traffic speeds,does notinclude
delineation works;
xvi. Ensure advanced coordination with RTA, traffic police,DEWA and other
relevant authorities where required including NOC’s;
xvii. Priority ensured regarding the protection of public pedestrians and
cyclists,including overhead protection where required;
xviii. Adequate road diversion to be maintained according to the approved
drawings from RTA and DM including information/barriers/warning signs;
xix. Where works are undertaken at nightensure works areas are well
provided with adequate lighting systems;
xx. Workers instructed on requirements atinduction;
xxi. Lane delineation(cones) shall be done in the same systematic wayas
implementation;
