i. Method statements and risk assessments to be submitted and adhered to;
ii. All MEWP operators to follow designated traffic routes,which should be
level and compacted to prevent the machine toppling over or becoming
stuck;
iii. MEWP operators to wear harness/Lanyard clipped atlow level inside
platform to prevent climbing onto hand rails;
iv. Operators to be aware of existing structures such as pipes,steelwork etc.
which could be crush points when elevating;
v. Worker pedestrian routes to be designed and implemented with clear
signage to provide segregation;
vi. At least2 machines in working area ifpracticable to facilitate rescue at
heightif required;
vii. Flagmen to be used to control MEWP movements.Where practicable
areas to be designated no pedestrians,with flagmen stationed clear of
movements in clear view;
viii.Controls to be maintained and keptclear of materials,and damage or
malfunction reported immediatelyand machine quarantined;
ix. No reversing of MEWP at any time without banksman;
x. Keys removed when parked,brake on. MEWP never left running
unattended;
xi. MEWPs not to be used for lifting heavy materials, ad hoc lifting devices or
for winching loads, safe working loads adhered to at all time;
xii. MEWPs lowered to ground level before traversing across site;
xiii.Daily inspections ofhoses, tyres,connections etc.prior to use.Damaged

xiv.Exclusion zone setup around MEWP material drop zone and to prevent
entanglementwith moving parts by workers at ground level;
