- Tim gave this breakdown of the numbers: 2,877 people completed the survey. Of those, 995 had completed a plan. 297 of them (36%) secured a loan 280 of them (36%) secured investment capital 499 of them (64%) had grown their business 1,556 of the 2,877 had not yet completed their plan. 222 of them (18%) secured a loan 219 of them (18%) secured investment capital 501 of them (43%) had grown their business

- Being a green meeting industry professional today goes far beyond what plates to use, how to handle the trash, and determining how to select venues that have action steps into being green. You yourself must become a sustainable leader – You must Care more than yo thought possible to discuss issue and ideas the are foreign to many. From global legislation to You must be willing to cut things down into smaller pieces You must be willing to create solutions to problems we don’t even know are problems And last but most important is to take time to celebratrate who you are – who your organization is and what they want to do in the GMIC realm If you want to be a sustanable leader you have to do what sustainable leaders do: Find your heart space for what is important to you in the Green realm Is it people projects Planet – saving green Legislation – Profits – how to do you make money in green either as a planner or supplier
- Have a vision for where we are going See the problems – and know we together as a global community will over come them Find your heart center for what is most important to you Event standards – APEX, GRI, BS8901 Implement sustainability policies
- The problems our world today are truly overwhelming. You have to be willing to take it one step at a time. Build a team around you in GMIC chapter, group or team.
- To be a sustainable leader today you must have more resolve on solutions Be willing to try a few different things Don’t hide behind the I don’t know Pretend that you do Then do that If it doesn’t work try again.
