CENIFER is a training center in Navarre, Spain that focuses on renewable energies like wind, hydroelectric, solar, and biomass. It aims to train technicians to work in the renewable energy industry and retrain existing technicians. CENIFER offers initial vocational training programs, employment training, and training for trainers. It has trained over 2,600 people since 2010. CENIFER is supported by the Government of Navarre and Spanish Government and has various workshops and facilities to support hands-on learning.

3) Renewable energy education in Egypt occurs at public and private universities, though greater cooperation with European institutes is needed to strengthen research and development efforts and link them more closely with education programs.

A white paper on Concentrated solar power in India
This document provides an overview of parabolic trough concentrating solar power (CSP) technology. It discusses the status and commercialization of CSP, with parabolic trough systems being the most widely used. Key components of parabolic trough plants include the solar field, power generation system, and thermal storage. The solar field, consisting of parabolic trough collectors, is the most expensive component. Research aims to reduce costs by improving collector structures, reflective surfaces, and heat transfer fluids. Thermal storage allows electricity production when the sun is not available. Parabolic trough CSP has progressed from early demonstration plants to commercial installations, with costs declining as the technology matures.
Energy efficiency: a profit center for companies!
Investments in energy efficiency not only result in a reduction of energy consumption —the ener-gy benefit— but they also entail non-energy benefits such as improved product quality, reduced production time or improved comfort in sales area. Non-energy benefits significantly improve the business case of energy-efficiency investments in the business sector by raising their strategic character.
Within this context, the aim of this webinar is to discuss a methodology to describe and analyze the industrial non-energy benefits of energy efficiency. Linking energy, operational, strategic and fi-nancial aspects, this new conceptual framework enables to move away from the common view of energy as a commodity (where the only goal is to save kilowatt-hours) to adopt a new perspective on energy and energy services as strategic value for businesses.
This methodology will be further developed and documented by Task 26 Multiple Benefits of Ener-gy Efficiency, a project of IEA Demand Side Management Energy Efficiency Technology Collabora-tion Program, in close collaboration with practitioners, academic researchers and public program-mers. Energy savings of 20% to 30% in industrial electric motor systems are economically viable but can only be achieved through system optimization. This includes the electrical side as well as the mechanical side and its operation condition. Depending on the individual context of the industrial end user (e.g. regulation, energy price, management structure, capacities, available support, supply services, etc.), the end user can follow a sequence of steps in order to improve the efficiency of its running stock and thus ‘harvest’ the savings on a cost-effective and sustainable base.

A white paper on Concentrated solar power in India
This document provides an overview of parabolic trough concentrating solar power (CSP) technology. It discusses the status and commercialization of CSP, with parabolic trough systems being the most widely used. Key components of parabolic trough plants include the solar field, power generation system, and thermal storage. The solar field, consisting of parabolic trough collectors, is the most expensive component. Research aims to reduce costs by improving collector structures, reflective surfaces, and heat transfer fluids. Thermal storage allows electricity production when the sun is not available. Parabolic trough CSP has progressed from early demonstration plants to commercial installations, with costs declining as the technology matures.
Energy efficiency: a profit center for companies!
Investments in energy efficiency not only result in a reduction of energy consumption —the ener-gy benefit— but they also entail non-energy benefits such as improved product quality, reduced production time or improved comfort in sales area. Non-energy benefits significantly improve the business case of energy-efficiency investments in the business sector by raising their strategic character.
Within this context, the aim of this webinar is to discuss a methodology to describe and analyze the industrial non-energy benefits of energy efficiency. Linking energy, operational, strategic and fi-nancial aspects, this new conceptual framework enables to move away from the common view of energy as a commodity (where the only goal is to save kilowatt-hours) to adopt a new perspective on energy and energy services as strategic value for businesses.
This methodology will be further developed and documented by Task 26 Multiple Benefits of Ener-gy Efficiency, a project of IEA Demand Side Management Energy Efficiency Technology Collabora-tion Program, in close collaboration with practitioners, academic researchers and public program-mers. People or Institutions interested by Task 26 are most welcome to contact me.

A Pilot Module will be implemented by 4 JELARE project’s partners: Bolivia,
Brazil, Guatemala and Latvia. A research was made by them in their own
countries where a scarcity of multidisciplinary programs was detected at the
Postgraduate level. The common characteristic was the need to modernize
the curriculum by introducing a more diverse perspective. The student
profile at the end should aim to provide skills to the private as well as the
public, non-governmental and academic sectors. The pensum will consist of
13 courses inferred from an analysis of the competencies needed, along
three modules: Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (with
courses such as Sociology of Development and Global Challenges,
Environment and Sustainable Development, Energy Matrix Planning,
Energy Economics, Policies and Regulations on Energy and Environment and
courses mainly devoted to renewable energy and their management). The
Postgraduate Program is to be implemented in 4 trimesters. On-line
modalities will be introduced where self-study, cooperation and tutorial
guidelines will be highlighted. The scheme will open activities by July 1st
2011; the institutional framework for implementation is being worked out
among all interested partners at present.

This brochure highlights innovative solutions for renewable energy financing and gives recommendations to Govern-ments. The tar-get audiences of the brochure are policy makers, as well as private stakeholders such as: project developers, project owners, financiers, consultants, etc.
The following renewable energy projects are included: all biomass, geothermal, solar, tidal and wind projects of diversi-fied size, ranging from 0.2 MW to 600 MW, and across OECD countries, particularly in this book: Chile, Estonia, Germa-ny, Latvia, Netherlands, Scotland, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States of America.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity server
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).
