MESH Assessment - Findings
• Regulatory/Compliance
• Gaps in Country & State requirements
• MESH Process
• Gaps in Eaton minimum requirements
• ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001
• Management System weaknesses (linkage to MESH
Process)
• Observations
• EHS Material Issues
• Determined by Lead, SRM, and EHS Legal
• Repeat
• Same question from previous Corp Assessment
18
© 2013 Eaton. All Rights Reserved..
Repeat Findings
• A finding is considered repeat when the same question has been
answered NO on the current Corp. MESH Assessment and the
previous Corp. MESH Assessment
• Lead Assessors will obtain a copy the “Findings” tab from the
previous Corporate MESH Assessment Enhesa scorecard posted
on the EHS Global ERG.
• Each assessor will need to compare current findings to the previous
list of findings and identify any repeat findings.
19

Root Cause Analysis of Findings
• Linkage of the management system weakness &
Development of preventive action plans
• During the assessments root cause training and analysis will be
completed with the Site Leadership team and EHS team
• Review of findings (symptoms) and identifying the management
system weakness and develop preventive actions
• Prevent repeat findings
20
© 2013 Eaton. All Rights Reserved..
• Corrective & preventative actions must be entered into MESHSuite within 1
week after closing meeting of the assessment
• Timing for closure of assessment findings
• Corrective Actions – immediate fixes
• Immediate – Material EHS issues
• 30 days – Regulatory compliance
• 90 days – MESH process
 Preventive Actions – addresses management system issues. Closure based on risk analysis of
the finding.
• 60 days – High risk
• 90 days – Medium risk
• 120 days – Low risk
• Sub Regional Mgr will validate closures of actions plans and any extension of
due dates
Corrective & Preventive Action Plans (CAPAs)
EHS Monthly Report will list sites who have not closed 90% of
regulatory findings in 30 days

MESH Score Impact on EBEA and OpA
Site must receive a MESH “Demonstrating”
level of performance (i.e., >90%) or higher on
the most recent corporate MESH assessment
with no material issues in order to receive an
EBEA performance level of “Demonstrating”
or higher on the EBE Assessment.
• A site scoring <90% but >75% may close
out items and have those items validated
as closed by the EHS SRM. This includes
validation for any material issues.
• A site scoring <75% must have another
full assessment the following year and
have a score >90% with no material
issues to achieve “Demonstrating” on
EBEA.
Site must receive a MESH “Demonstrating”
level of performance (i.e., >90%) or higher
on the most recent corporate MESH
assessment with no material issues AND
meet all elements of “Foundation” and
“Demonstrating” levels of performance in the
OpA EHS criteria in order to receive an OpA
performance level of “Demonstrating” on the
OpA EHS Category.
• Validated closure of corporate MESH
assessment findings is not applicable in
the OpA process.
• EHS performance on the OpA does not
impact the results of an EBE
Assessment.
EBEA OpA
• For acquisitions that did not have a baseline compliance assessment during integration*, the first MESH Assessment will be considered as a
baseline and will not be considered in EBE scoring.
• In certain instances, an integration site will go through EBEA and OpA prior to having a corporate MESH assessment. When this occurs,
corporate EHS will work with the EBE and OpA program offices to establish criteria for receiving a “Demonstrating” level of performance.
(*) – applies to all former Cooper Sites

Enhesa Scorecards - Audit Application
• Corporate and Self Assessments
will be conducted using Enhesa
scorecards
• Corrective and preventive action
plans will be linked to the findings
and tracked to closure in either
MESH Suite or SHMS

MESH Score Impact on EBEA and OpA Site must receive a MESH “Demonstrating” level of performance (i.e., >90%) or higher on the most recent corporate MESH assessment with no material issues in order to receive an EBEA performance level of “Demonstrating” or higher on the EBE Assessment. • A site scoring <90% but >75% may close out items and have those items validated as closed by the EHS SRM. This includes validation for any material issues. • A site scoring <75% must have another full assessment the following year and have a score >90% with no material issues to achieve “Demonstrating” on EBEA. Site must receive a MESH “Demonstrating” level of performance (i.e., >90%) or higher on the most recent corporate MESH assessment with no material issues AND meet all elements of “Foundation” and “Demonstrating” levels of performance in the OpA EHS criteria in order to receive an OpA performance level of “Demonstrating” on the OpA EHS Category. • Validated closure of corporate MESH assessment findings is not applicable in the OpA process. • EHS performance on the OpA does not impact the results of an EBE Assessment. EBEA OpA • For acquisitions that did not have a baseline compliance assessment during integration*, the first MESH Assessment will be considered as a baseline and will not be considered in EBE scoring. • In certain instances, an integration site will go through EBEA and OpA prior to having a corporate MESH assessment. When this occurs, corporate EHS will work with the EBE and OpA program offices to establish criteria for receiving a “Demonstrating” level of performance. (*) – applies to all former Cooper Sites
