Initial plans included making a horror film trailer with dark robes, masks, weapons and music. A mood board was created with repeated dark colors, styles and horror imagery to influence the final product, a Halloween film trailer. The chosen concept was a slasher/horror trailer targeted toward adult males, requiring a camera, drawings and other props to create an advert and DVD cover promoting the fictional film. Discounted ideas were a music video, due to a disliked concept, and an advert, which could help advertise the film but was less focused than a trailer.
