How did you attract/address
your audience?
Genre Conventions
• Our whole production shows conventions of typical horror movies because
this is what attracts a usual horror audience so it was key that we stuck to
these.
• Some examples of these conventions are:
• The use of a dark eerie location
• A character with an obvious scary appearance
• Music that builds tension and suspence
Conventions continued…
• We chose to stick to horror conventions such as those seen in other movies
such as ‘The Grudge’.
• This is because these types of movies attract mass audiences and often carry
great success. This is die to the fact that they can attract a broad target
audience which can vary immensely.
• This contributes to the success of a movie because if it has a larger audience
base, then they are a lot more likely to gain more sales.
Character
• The use of a teenage character is often seen in movies that attract a teenage
audience.
• This is because the audience can feel more that they can relate to the
character, although this is difficult to achieve with a horror character.
• However, we chose to use a teenage character anyway as it still entices the
audience more.
