Religious Diversity.
India is a country with Religious and
cultural diversity.

and terms.
India is a country in South Asia. It the
seventh-largest country by area, the
second most populated country.
Q. What do you mean by the word
‘diversity’?
Q. Do we have Diversity in India?
We all live in the land of diversity.
Almost every state has its own Religion
and Cuture..
Students as we know that India is a land
of diversity. We can classify diversity
into two parts.
Let us see the first type:
(Teacher starts to develop progressive
differentiation on CB)
Religion in India is characterized by a
diversity of religious beliefs and
practices. India is the birth place of four
of the world’s major religions, mainly:
Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism &
Sikhism.
What are the other religions existing in
India?
Throughout India’s history religion has
been an important part of country’s
culture. Religious diversity & religious
tolerance are both established in the
country by the law & custom. A vast
majority of Indians associate themselves
with a religion.
Presenting Advance Organizer.
The concept of diversity
encompasses acceptance and
respect. It means understanding
that each individual is unique and
recognizing our individual
difference.

are together and united. Isn’t it?
Students we have studied about the
concept of diversity, types of diversity
and in that Religious diversity. Now let
us see the next diversity type i.e.:

cognitive organization.

of diversity where there are two or more
types of diversity- Religion and

about different religions, like:
Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Islam,
Christianity and Jainism.

Though India is a diverse country, but it
has great unity.
