1. Pronouns (สรรพนาม)
Pronouns (โพรนาวส์) หรือ สรรพนาม ได้แก่คาที่ใช้แทนคานาม (noun)
หรือใช้ขยายคานาม เพื่อให้ได้ความหมายที่ชดัเจนยิ่งขึ้น Pronouns
แบ่งออกเป็นหลายชนิดตามหน้าที่ของมนั ดงัตารางต่อไปข้างล่างนี้
1. Subject Pronouns ได้แก่ สรรพนามที่ทาหน้าที่ประธานในประโยค
โดยปกติจะวางไว้หน้ากริยาในประโยค เช่น

2. Object Pronouns ได้แก่ สรรพนามที่ทาหน้าที่เป็นกรรมในประโยค
โดยปกติจะวางไว้หลงักริยาในประโยค เช่น

3. Adjective pronouns ได้แก่ สรรพนามแสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ
ทา หน้าที่ขยายคา นามที่มนัเป็นเจ้าของ โดยปกติจะวางไว้หน้าคา นามที่มนัเป็นเจ้าของ
เช่น

2. 4. Reflexive Pronouns ได้แก่
คา สรรพนามที่มีความหมายเชิงสะท้อนกลบัไปหาประธานของประโยค
ซึ่งเป็นผู้กระทา เหตุการณ์น้นัด้วยตนเอง คา สรรพนามนี้เป็นเอกพจน์จะลงท้ายด้วย
self และเป็นพหูพจน์จะลงท้ายด้วย selves อีกอย่างหนึ่งมกัจะถูกเรียกว่า -self form
of pronoun ได้แก่ myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves,
yourselves, themselves

วิธีใช้ Reflexive Pronouns
1. เราใช้ reflexive pronoun กบักริยาต่อไปนี้ เช่น behave = ประพฤติตวั ,
burn = เผา , cut = ตดั,เฉือน , enjoy = สนุก , hurt = บาดเจ็บ , introduce
= แนะนาตวั , kill = ฆ่า , look at = ดู, teach = สอน เป็นต้นฯ
2. เราใช้ reflexive pronoun กบัคา บุรพบท คา ว่า by
เมื่อพวกเราหมายถึงคนเดียว ไม่มีพรรคพวก หรือ ไม่มีใครช่วยเหลือ เช่น I
spent my weekend by myself / on my own.
3. เราใช้ reflexive pronoun ในคาบรรยายต่อไปนี้ เช่น enjoy yourself
(have a good time), behave yourself (be good), help yourself (you
are welcome to take something if you want) เช่น Help yourself to
some food.
4. เราใช้ reflexive pronoun เพื่อเน้นยา้ตวัประธาน หรือ ตวักรรม ของประโยค
เช่น ใช้เพื่อเน้นประธานให้เห็นว่าเป็นผู้กระทา การนั้นๆ
ให้วางไว้หลงัประธานนั้น แต่ถ้าต้องการเน้นกรรม (Object) ให้วางหลงักรรม
เช่น
- I myself did this homework. (เน้นประธาน)
- The film itself wasn't very good but I like the music. (เน้นประธาน)
- I spoke to Mr.Wilson himself. (เน้นกรรม)
ข้อควรจา
by myself หมายถึงฉันคนเดียว มีความหมายเหมือนกนักบั on my
own และใช้ลกัษณะเดียวกนักบัคา ต่อไปนี้
by myself = on my own by yourself = on your own by himself =
on his own

3. by herself = on her own by itself = on its own by ourselves = on
our own
by themselves = on their own by yourselves = on
your own
เช่น
 I like living on my own / by myself. ฉันชอบใช้ชีวิตอยู่คนเดียว
 Did you go on holiday on your own / by yourself?
เธอไปเที่ยววนัหยุดคนเดียวหรือเปล่า
 Jack was sitting on his own / by himself in a corner of the cafe.
