tales. Arguably his most famous works are the poem entitled The Raven published January 29th 1845,
and his short story The Tell Tale Heart published a few years earlier on January 1843. Both of these
pieces of literature pulled the listener directly into Poe s mysterious world, with suspense and intensity
in every line. The Raven and The Tale Heart written by Edgar Allan Poe both develop the gothic
theme of madness by using dark imagery, similar symbolism, and torment.
The Raven follows a man who is tormented by a large raven on top of his chamber door. He recently
lost his lover Lenore, and he believes that this Raven is in his chamber is taunting him, and making
light of his lost love. As the story progresses the narrator starts to drift further and further from sanity

National Debt Is Not Always A Bad Thing
When I first thought of national debt I thought about only the cons and disadvantages of having it. I
never gave thought as to what the advantages of having it may be. National debt is the amount of
money the federal government owes to lenders outside of itself. When the Treasury borrows funds, it
issues Treasury bonds; these are IOUs of the federal government. In other words, the national debt is a
stock of IOUs created by annual deficit flows. (Schiller 261) With the help of research and my
economics class, I have learned that having national debt is not always a bad thing. For example, the
financial crisis of 2008 2009 and the effects it had on the economy and people was horrible. However,
I learned that if it weren t for the increase in government borrowing by bailing out banks and financial
markets, the banks and financial markets could have froze and that would have thrown us into a Great
Depression type run on banks. If the government uses its debt the right way, then it will allow the
government to do things that it couldn t really do before. I believe investing that debt instead of
spending it would be the wiser choice. The government sometimes spends money so that consumers
will have money but they just end up spending it. This is just a way for the government to stimulate
spending at that moment. That s just a short term benefit. Therefore, by investing its debt in things
such as medical and technological research and education will create a long term

Princess Diana Influences
Princess Diana was known as the people s princess who stunned the world with her ability to conquer
any hurdles life threw at her. She also was known for showing the people that she cared. Her sudden
death left the world in shock, and many people say her touching story changed their life. Princess
Diana is an influential person because of her ability to overcome hardship, her unconventional royal
duties, her widely recognized charitable work, and the impact of her death.
Throughout the years of Princess Diana s life she showed her capability to overcome hardship, and
work through her pain to become someone the world would never forget. Her life began on July 1,
1961, in her quiet hometown of Sandringham, England. Diana learned at an early age how to deal with
her rough family life. Her struggles began when her parents divorced when she was a small child,
further lessening her relationship with her parents. Her and her four other siblings helped each other
through that tough time.
Prince Charles first became interested in Princess Diana when she was 16, this is where their love
interest began. At the time he was dating her older sister, Lady Sarah. A few years later she and Prince

The Effects Of Low Morale On The Levels Of Interest And...
Some of the indicators of low morale can include a loss of interest and enthusiasm, excessive
absenteeism, excessive sick leaves, excessive turnover, increase in accidents, increased number of
complaints and grievances, negativism, noticeably less positive attitudes, to name a few.
Costs of Low Morale
The negatives costs of low morale can be astronomical and not fully realized by the organization. The
Saratoga Institute suggests an organizations average turnover costs a minimum of one year s salary
and benefits to a maximum of two years of salary. Higher turnover means significant recruitment and
replaced costs will occur to the organization. So if the agency has a high turnover rate, you can see
how the low morale can easily affect the budgetary concerns of the agency.
A side effect of high turnover is having several officers with little to no experience in the field. This
can cause a negative effect on other officers not having trust in the new officers, which could make
them less productive for the fear they will get into a situation that requires immediate back up and
they don t know if the rookies can handle themselves. Another side effect of having a lot of new
officers is the likelihood of mistakes being made in the field. These mistakes could be from simply not
getting all the information needed to effectively solve a case all the way up to the improper use of
force. These types of mistakes can lead to expensive lawsuits. Even if the officer acted correctly,

The study draws economic analogies for Heisenberg s Uncertainty principle and concentrates on the
17 largest Investment Banks and the 10 largest Mutual Funds. It tries to quantify the uncertainty and
lists the economic mass of every institution from among the two groups and the average economic
masses of each group as well. The study was restricted to publically listed Investment Banks and
Mutual Funds and the model was not applicable to privately held and boutique banks and also wasn t
applicable to hedge funds and other private funds which did not report their Net Asset Value Returns.
According to the findings, the economic mass was highest for Goldman Sachs while Toronto Domino
Bank shows the least economic mass. When it comes to Mutual Funds, Pimco the world s largest
mutual fund had the lowest economic mass; the exposure to the crisis could be the reason behind this.
The American Funds Growth Fund of America has the highest economic mass. This study has been
able to show that the Heisenberg s Uncertainty Principle has implications for financial institutions. For
future research, one could look into applying the model for privately held Financial Institutions and
those funds which do not report their returns like Hedge Funds.
