◦ The first automobile invented was by: Karl Benz. Automobiles have been around for a
while, making transportation easier & faster, rather than walking. Over the years, cars
have improved in some ways, whether its cosmetic or engine wise, but they don’t
change in one thing, that being that they still are sued to get us from point A to point B.
3. Medicine
◦ The Egyptians, far way back, were first to breakthrough medicine. Pace of medicine
advanced quickly on all fronts in the 20th century. Breakthroughs came in science &
technology. Better understanding of sickness was brought into treatments & all types of
cures. Medicine is something the world could not live without. It is still used to cure & is
still advancing today.
4. Atom Bomb
◦ A few scientists were in on the Atom Bomb. One being: Robert Oppenheimer. The
atom, thought as a central nucleus surrounded by electrons advanced after many
experiments at the very beginning of the 20th century. The discovery, opened up an
understanding for the periodic table also for material science & the matter we see
around us. Without this, many things we have today would have not been invented or
would have been impossible to put together.
5. Technology
◦ From bombs to cell phones, technology from the 20th century have been profound,
improving our lives & endangering us, for a better world. For example: radios,
television, transistors, laser & refrigerators.
◦ The ice box was invented by: Thomas Moore. An “icebox” was known to the 20th
century as our today called “refrigerators” These icebox’s were very small. In fact, they
only included two separate compartments. One being designed to hold large chunks
of ice & the bottom to hold food products. As you can see, today our “icebox” comes
in many different sizes & styles. Giving us plenty of room for our ice & our food.

◦ I think the best thing improved from 20th century, to today is technology. It has helped
us in so many ways, & is improving every day, making the world a better, easier & safer
place to live in. Without it, we would probably still be stuck in the era of hard work & lots
of diseases. Thanks to technology, we have managed to cure lots of sicknesses & are
still finding cures. Getting closer everyday to cure & treat something new. Technology
has brought us a very long way, making us see & view the world differently. It is used in
almost everything we use or do today, for example: internet. Thanks to internet we are
able to find so much research in just instant seconds & are able to communicate with
friends all around the world. Even go to school. Thanks to technology, the world is
better today.
