Property Laws Essay
http://www.thebluediamondgallery.com/tablet/images/claim.jpg We re all here on this earth using what
we have. We ve been taught that things we are given are ours solely to use for our own personal use
and so we identify that with ownership. For instance when you re born there is a piece of paper

told what your name is. It s that is also yours but the thing about it is its intellectual property. It s
owned by someone else. Under use of property laws everything created is owned by someone else.

Redwood Library Essay
In the United States, public buildings, such as libraries, banks, or government buildings, tie into the
towns and cities they are helping in the community. The aesthetic for many of these public buildings
follow a similar pattern based on neoclassicism elements. A great example to the start of this trend in
public building aesthetic is the Redwood Library in Newport, RI designed by Peter Harrison. I picked
this building because of its aesthetic and architecture. The Redwood Library was the start of the use of
neoclassicism elements that began to influence future public buildings and properties of its time. The
American colonial library was completed in 1750 and followed at Georgian architecture design. This
design consisted of merging of architectural aspects from pattern books mainly from Greek and
Roman origins (Zawadzki). The Redwood Library itself was based on a Roman Doric temple in
Andrea Palladio s Architecture. There are doric order columns with a portico and wings with a very
triangle looking roof (Craven). Although based on designs made of concrete and stone, the ... Show

Gun Control versus The Right to Bear Arms Essay
With the topic of gun control comes a widely split crowd. There are those that believe that gun control
is necessary for decreasing crime and making a nation a safer place to live. And on the other end of the
spectrum, they are those that speak of how anti gun control is what would make our nation a safer
place to live. After all, ?Would a person be as likely to break into another family s home knowing that
the family has means of personal protection?? (Warren 308). ?Most everyone will agree that felons,
addicts, morons, juveniles, alcoholics, the mentally incompetent, and others in whose hands even an
ice pick or a baseball bat becomes a deadly weapon, should be denied a gun.? (Selib 202) However,
what about those individuals that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is simply not true. ?During the period in which the second amendment was written, ?regulated?

competent in their usage. What is the Bill of Rights? The Rights of the individual, what we, the
people, are allowed to do under these broad Amendment ?laws.? Let us take a look back at how the
Bill of Rights comes into play with the second amendment. In 1689 the English Bill of Rights was
passed, by Parliament in response to King James II trying to disarm his subjects. The English Bill of
Rights allowed people to be armed ?suitable to their conditions? and ?allowed by law.? This right was
then transferred to the American colonies, and after the American Revolution, our Bill of Rights of
1791, further strengthened the second amendment claim of the people?s right to bear arms, with the
words ?the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.? The Bill of Rights limits
the power of the federal government. How does it do this? How about an example? Can the federal
government establish a federal religion that all must follow and have faith in? Most definitely not, the
first amendment prohibits this from happening. The first amendment says, in part,

Socrates As A Hero
Throughout the world s history, there have been civilizations that have come and gone. These
civilizations are represented to the world today by leaders and their ideals of those times. One such
leader was a person of thought from the city state Athens in Greece. (7) This person was Socrates, the
quintessential philosopher, the seeker and conveyor of wisdom. (8) Paul Johnson states, Such a man is
well worth knowing about, and for 2,500 years the learned and intellectually enterprising in all
countries have sought to know him. (8) But what is really known about a man who lived thousands of
years ago and who left no written record of himself. The starting point to understand Socrates and his
thoughts are through the words of his pupils. (8 9) Socrates was a philosopher whose ideals changed
the world around him and have an effect the world today. Paul Johnson, the author of Socrates: A Man
for Our Times, argues that part of heroism is philosophy at its last resort. Whoever is going after the
excellence of the mind should have the courage, to practice philosophy to the point of sacrificing
everything, even one s life. Johnson argues that Socrates did just that. (194) Johnson goes on to say
that Socrates was a man and thinker, as a hugely real, living, and enjoyable human being. (14)
Through Socrates opinions, personality, and mostly his love for the people and the city of Athens
overall made him a striking person (34). Johnson goes on to show the reader the

The Pros And Cons Of Birth Tourism
Birth Tourism has been a booming subject as immigrant families travel to the United States to have
their children in the country. One state particularly immigrants have been traveling to is the state of
California. With California being close to the coast, it makes it easier for immigrants to pick the
destination for birth tourism. According to a World post article, it states that, The 14th Amendment to
the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizenship to every person born on American soil, a fact that has
long motivated foreigners from all over the world to give birth in the U.S. (Sheehan 1). This shows
that, immigrants want to come to the United States to start their families because they want their
children to be able to grow up as an American citizen.
With the birth tourism rate growing rapidly in the United States, it s been proven that China has
brought the most birth tourism to the country. As stated in the World Post article, No reliable data
exists on the number of Chinese births in the U.S, but estimates by industry publications projected a
total of 60,000 for 2014, a six fold increase over 2012 (Sheehan 5). With China having a huge impact
with birth tourism, there are still other countries that are involved with the birth tourism rate, mostly
Latin American countries seeking economic opportunities.
With birth tourism being a very popular thing there are a lot of economic pros and cons. It s not a
cheap thing to do to come to the United States to have a baby. In the World Post Article, it states that
Having a child in California is not cheap for Chinese parents: Package deals at maternity hotels often
start at $20,000 and go much higher (Sheehan 10). With that being said it also states that, given birth
to their second child in China, they likely would have faced fines equal to $40,000 for violation of the
country s one child policy (Sheehan 11). This shows that its cheaper to have another child in the
United States, therefore bringing the birth tourism rate higher in the United States because of the
prices. Also in China there is a one child policy where you can only have one child, wear as in the
states you can have as many babies as you would like. As stated in the World post You ve got

Mannerism and Baroque
If you study art history at any length, you will become aware of the many different periods and their
individual characteristics. There are prime times throughout art history that the general populations
can easily identify such as Renaissance or Impressionism. They might even be able to name a few of
the artists or their artwork. As you delve further into the rich history of art, you start to notice many
deviations in the style of artists who are transitioning into a new artistic period. At first look, you

In the seventeenth century, the city of Rome became the model indication of Catholic dignity and
satisfaction articulated in all the arts. (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, n.d.) The popularity and
success of the baroque was encouraged by the Catholic Church when it decided that the spectacle of
the baroque artists style could communicate religious themes in direct and emotional attachment. The
secular nobles also saw the dramatic style of baroque architecture and art as a means of impressing
visitors and prospective competitors. ( ArtinPicture.com, 2013, para. 2) The Baroque period is known
for its extravagance and eccentricity. Chiaroscuro and tenebrism are a large part of Baroque art. Some
of the main characteristics of the baroque era are of the portrayals feel emotionally and tangibly real.
The artists wanted you to participate in the scene. Baroque artists painted real people with all of their
imperfections. The artists rendered religious figures and saints in theological settings and miracles

artists to emerge out of the Baroque period. Some of Bernini s works include The Ecstasy of Saint

The Human Of Human Cloning
1. INTRODUCTION
Human cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy of a human. However, this term not only
refers to the entire artificial human, but also the reproduction of human cells and tissues. There are
two types of theoretical human cloning: reproductive cloning which would involve making an entire
cloned human and the other, therapeutic cloning, which would involve cloning cells from a human for
use in medicine and transplants by somatic cell nuclear transfer or pluripotent stem cell induction. In
reproductive cloning the entire genetic code is reproduced from a single body cell of an adult
individual. The most common cloning technique is somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT). The
procedure is as follows:

iPSCs are typically derived by introducing products of specific sets of pluripotency associated genes,
or reprogramming factors , into a given cell type.
2. ISSUES
Although the human cloning seems fairly beneficial and useful for human welfare, the possibility of
human cloning has raised controversies. Concerning reproductive cloning, advocates believe that
parents who cannot otherwise procreate should have access to the technology. Some opponents have
concerns that technology is not yet developed enough to be safe while others emphasize that
reproductive cloning could be prone to abuse (leading to the generation of humans whose organs and
tissues would be harvested), and have concerns about how cloned individuals could integrate with
families and with society at large. With regards to therapeutic cloning, the problem is that many
attempts are often required to create a viable egg. The stability of the egg with the infused somatic
nucleus is poor and it can require hundreds of attempts before success is attained. Therapeutic cloning
does result in the destruction of an embryo after stem cells are extracted and this destruction has
stirred controversy over the morality of the procedure. Some argue that the pros outweigh the cons
with regards to treating disease and support development of therapeutic cloning in order to generate
tissues and whole

Life is Harder for Boys in Donna LaFramboise s Essay, Roll...
Roll Back The Red Carpet for Boys 1. The allusion of the red carpet refers to the red carpet treatment
that is given to hosts of considerable status. Nowadays, red carpets are literally rolled out for functions
with celebrities and movie stars alike. 2. In her essay, LaFramboise delivers a powerful and thought
provoking message about the untrue belief that society has lead us to believe. That is, that males have
an easier red carpet, like experience in life. 3. When LaFramboise writes, Girls are victims of
circumstance and boys are masters of their own fate. Girls are moulded and manipulated by the social
pressures; boys make conscious choices. Girls get to blame everyone but themselves; everyone gets to
blame boys. Wasn t feminism supposed to be about abolishing double standards? She is connoting at
the clear double standards that have been placed on males. Stating that girls are not held responsible
for their own decisions and faults, rather an external source of control is to blame. However, males are
solely responsible for their own flaws. 4. a) An example of statistics is the statement Between the ages
of 15 and 24, they take their lives five times as often. b) As adults, males are more likely to be
homeless...twice as likely to be robbed or murdered, nine times more likely to be killed in an

The author heard about this pediatric ethical dilemma in this way: My clinical instructor allowed me
to attend the NICU. Upon arrival of this unit, I was paired off with a nurse who was taking care of two
neonates. I shadowed the nurse and assisted her with caring for the infants, and became aware of this
baby s condition and plan of care.
The people involved in this dilemma were the MD, the baby, her father, mother, and nurse.
The Provisions from the ANA code of Ethics that apply to this dilemma are these:
One Provision that applies is Provision # 1, state the provision: The nurse practices with compassion

Another Provision that applies is Provision # 3, state the provision: The nurse promotes, advocates for,

How Apple Inc. Has Impacted American Society
How has Apple Inc. impacted American society? Apple has impacted American society by changing
the way Americans communicate, listen to music, and access information. This article will show some
of the ways that Apple Inc. has changed Americans everyday lives.
Communicate
Apple has changed the way Americans communicate by creating devices like the iPhone and iPad. The
iPhone was one of the first cell phones ever to have a touchscreen. The first cell phone to have a
touchscreen was the IBM Simon. The IBM Simon was released in August of 1994, while the first
iPhone was released June of 2007. The iPhone brought the age of the smartphone because after the
release of the first iPhone several other companies released their versions of smartphones.
Touchscreens have changed the way Americans use phone, tablets, and computers. Over the years
smartphones including the iPhone have improved giving them a better design and more capabilities.
Now cell phones are able to access the internet, film 4k videos, and have high resolution displays.

An Initial Link Effect On Gambling Behavior
Suboptimal choice: An initial link effect on gambling behaviour
Introduction
Human gambling often involves the decision to choose a low probability pay off, with the illusion of
gaining quick and easy money, over a high probability pay off. This reflects a form of suboptimal
choice behaviour. Suboptimal choice refers to the choice that does not result in the highest overall
reinforcement one could achieve. The probability of actually winning is slim to none when gambling,
but these behaviours are significantly popular. One of the most insidious behaviour humans engage in
is compulsive gambling, which had been associated with several negative outcomes for the
compulsive gambler and their loved ones. Thus, it is important to understand why humans make
suboptimal choices and ultimately know how to reduce the probability of such choices to occur
(Fantino, Navarro, O daly, 2005). Research on this topic aims to investigate the underlying
mechanisms involved such as the environmental factors influencing suboptimal behaviour, and the
behavioural process in making decisions.
Several animal studies have been used to investigate the underlying mechanisms of this suboptimal
choice behaviour (Cowie, Davison, Elliffe, 2011; Gipson, Alessandri, Zentall, 2009; Jimenez Gomez
Shahan, 2012; McDevitt, Dunn, Spetch, Ludvig, 2016; Spetch, Mondloch, Belke, Dunn, 1994; Stagner

Ben Quilty was born in 1973 and is an Australian Artist. He works predominantly in an impasto style.
This term describes the thickly textured paint that, when used, appears three dimensional, often
applied by Quilty with a palette knife or brush and leaving the brush strokes visible. Quilty s style
began as quite masculine, with a lot of his images full of bravado and death metal faces. He has
progressed from this and now produces a range of extensively varied pieces. Quilty has been widely
recognised for his artwork. Quilty s paintings of his Holden Torana produced a sell out show in 2002

Focusing on Global Thinking
Due to the recent economic crisis, it is time to rethink corporate strategy, especially as it applies to the
global environment. In 2009, the value of international trade was expected to decline by as much as
9%. Foreign Direct investment fell 15% in 2008 and another 40% in 2009. This article is predicting a
rough decade to come with weak global growth, pressures from overcapacity, persistently high
unemployment, volatility in the financial markets, costlier capital, a greatly expanded role from
governments, a much larger burden of regulation and taxation for all, and maybe even increased
protectionism. (Ghemawat 56) These are exactly the types of things the business world must begin to

Although the top 15 metropolitan areas represent more than a third of the US market, Wal Mart only

environment has also seen a shift toward lower pricing market wide. This trend will become especially
pronounced as companies expand into poorer markets. As multinationals continue their global
expansion efforts, it will be important to not only tailor strategy to local markets but also individual
products and services. This section highlights a very important topic as it points out the current focus
on the urban elite. The urban elite make up a relatively insignificant portion of potential customers

would be practically unlimited and success all but guaranteed. The focus on lower pricing is an
interesting and rather amusing point. Companies like Wal Mart who have been chastised for their
efforts to continually cut prices at all costs may, and more than likely have helped the global economy
in the long run when it comes to cost cutting efforts because companies Wal Mart deals with have
already started to focus on how to be as cheap as possible. Several factors, including the need to

Pennsylvania Hall Speech By Angelina Grimke
Angelina Grimke, was born February 20, 1805 to Mary Smith Grimke and John Faucheraud Grimke
and was also the youngest of fourteen children. She stood for so many things, as a reformer. She was a
lady who wanted nothing more than to change the world. From the age of three Angelina was very
impacted by slavery. She tried to help free slaves and she also could not stand to seem them tortured
or the after effects of the torture. When it came time for her to be confirmed in the church she refused
because she knew that the church was fond of slavery and that was just not something that she stood
for. When she was thirteen years old her sister Sarah left the family plantation to become a Quaker
because she too opposed slavery. On one of Sarah s trips ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those help you to start to imagine half of what the slaves have to go through on a daily basis. She also
uses details such as the ways that the crowd reacted to her speech such as [a yell from the mob without
the building] (Angelina Grimke Weld). Which shows that even though there was quite a large number
of people who did not agree with what she had to say on the matter of slavery she did not care and she
continued to preach about it. There were people who were throwing bricks at the windows and
shouting during her speech and she still continued to try and get the people to side with her. The
overall effectiveness of the document were not immediate. At first, the people were still very hesitant
to break the bonds of slavery. They were a people who were afraid of change and were afraid of
people who did not look like them. They did not want to be seen as a person who supported the
abolishing of slavery. However, when the movement against slavery this document, along with a few
others were quite effect in how the world viewed slavery and the effects of

Learning Philosophy And Teaching Philosophy
Creating a multitude of experiences for students and focusing instruction around the vocabulary that
stems from those experiences is the foundation of my teaching philosophy. From daily exposure and
continuous personal research I know that poverty means more than a lack of money; it means a lack of
resources financial, relational, neurological, social emotional, experiential, and linguistic. It was from
this list of necessary resources that I developed my teaching philosophy and the strategies to reinforce
it. Currently, I collaboratively teach Pre K with another teacher, two teacher assistants and 40 children.
About 60% of my students are English language learners. I teach all subjects: reading, writing, math,
science, and art. Inclusive in the content are the social emotional skills: patience, sharing, focus,
emotional vocabulary, standing up for others, using words instead of violence, exploration, and the
value of creativity. Collaborative teaching is a critical tool for balancing efficacious direct instruction
and observation/assessment. By choosing to team teach I have provided myself with supports that
make time for meaningful student teacher interactions and encourage daily reflection of student
growth. Effectively, my students are impoverished of experience: background knowledge. This lack of
experience means they also lack exposure to a rich vocabulary, to those one million words that middle
class children come to school having heard and often use.

Abc7 Case Studies
both socially and mentally has been shown to help in the prevention/delay of the disease. Researchers
from the University of Wollongong in Australia have found a link between the ATP binding transporter
A7 (ABCA7) and the regulation in the risk of Alzheimer s disease. ABCA7 helps to clear out Aβ
(amyloid beta) from the brain. Aβs can group together and block cell to cell signaling at synapses. The
evidence in human and mouse trials have shown that ABAC7 has a role in the regulation of Alzheimer
s treatment and risk. ABCA7 has been found to be in high amounts amongst microglia in the brain and
directly regulates phagocytosis. Further testing was done to determine what the exact link is between
this transporter and Alzheimer s disease. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem with this test in particular is the fact it has to be done on humans. This limits the amount
of trials that can be run due to cost, availability of patients, and the fact it is a human life and not a
mouse s. The need for a specific type of individual as a volunteer also contributes to the fewer number
of trials that can be run. I like the fact that the drug was put against a placebo. Studies have shown that
placebos work as good as the actual when a short period of time is examined. The placebo also makes
for a good test group/control group. The results were not released at the time of the article. I d like to
see the results with hope people will have another option for slowing or preventing the spread of this
disease. In the future I d like to see faster, easier, and cheaper tests developed. The peanut butter test
was a good idea. Medical care is so expensive it would be beneficial if a way to diagnose and treat the
diagnoses were cheaper and faster. Additional reaserch of what actually can be done to prevent and
stop the progression of this disease needs to be accomplished. Disorders like this, which affect
memory, are really hard on the patient and their families. I d like to see more done on their behalf. It is
encouraging to see that researchers are getting a better understanding on what may cause Alzheimer s.
The fact that there are numerous causalities prolong the research needed to narrow the results down
and discover what is the best way to prevent/treat this disease. I am bolstered by the fact that so much
research and trials are being done to help prevent this. Other nervous disorders are equally bad in their
own ways, however ones that affect people mentally are the worst. Nothing can be worse than being
trapped in your own head and having no way out. Forgetting who you are and who your loved ones
are is a fate that

Wallace Stevens Accomplishments
Wallace Stevens, one of the most well known American modernist poets. He has revolutionized the
modernist style of poetry and his poetry is an inspiration to all who read it. His poetry is renowned for
its vivid imagery and themes.
Wallace Stevens was one of the most famous modernist poets and his impact on poetry will forever be
remembered. Wallace Stevens was always into poetry, even when he went to college. While at Harvard
Stevens contributed poems and short stories to the campus literary magazine (American Cultural
Leaders).Stevens never got a degree when he went to Harvard but he went to work as a reporter at the

Stevens was awarded: Yale University s bollingen prize in poetry (1949); The gold medal of the poetry
society of America (1951) and the Pulitzer Prize (1955) to name a few (Literary Cavalcade).Critics
later like Harmonium and it is said that his later years were his best. Wallace Stevens will always be
remembered as one of the great modernist American Poets. Wallace Stevens ability to transcend the
limits of experience, combined with his technical prowess as a poet, makes for otherworldly poetry of
the everyday world. You can see this in his poem simply titled Anecdote of the Jar . On first glance,
this poem seems insignificant and not very interesting but if you look at it closely the beauty shines
through. The poem can seem dry and boring when he describes the jar, And round it was... the jar was
gray and bare (lines 2 and 10). Even though these lines might seem boring it is part of Stevens Imagist
poetry style that stressed absolute precision in presenting the image itself rather than oblique
description. Another interesting aspect of Stevens poetry is that it can be perceived multiple ways. The
jar was round upon the ground / And tall and of port in the air. This line could be read as the jar being
round, tall, and large; or the port could be a metaphor comparing the jar and air to the port and sea, a
passage way (lines 7 8). It (the jar) did not give of bird or bush. The line could be perceived

Centre Parcs are one of the UKs leading family, self catering holiday destinations. This report aims to
analyse the company using one of the key tools available to guide strategic decision making A

tax changes, new laws and government policy changes. Managers should not just rely on the PESTLE
analysis, it is a tool, a snapshot in time, which will assist in understanding the current factors, it will
not determine a direct path in the direction they need to follow to progress the company considerably.
When in fact managers most need to judge, into what factors are most likely to change and also which
have the greatest impact to them, so in the case of Centre Parc s they need to consider mostly
economical and sociological. A way of achieving the relevance of each factor to the company is to
rank or score the factors, so there is a clear understanding of which are of most importance and vice
versa. As Centre Parc s has many different villages, this means that it includes many divisions and also
brands (Starbucks, and Zilli restaurants), so managers need to concentrate on one specific area within
each village.
2.2 Political
Political factors are heavily driven by the macro environment, so this includes government policies
and broader social issues that Centre Parc s must be

The Importance Of A Foreign Country Has Changed My Life
Studying in a foreign country has been something I have desired to do since high school. My family s
financial situation has kept our adventures centralized to Ohio. I have never been presented with an
opportunity to travel outside of the United States. I knew going abroad in college was my best chance
to finally experience a new country and a new culture within my financial needs. Yet, I didn t just
want to go to abroad for a few weeks, I wanted to study abroad for an entire semester. I wanted to
immerse myself in an unfamiliar culture. To let go of what I know here and observe from their
perspective. Through my program I hope to appreciate the diversity another country has to offer. In
spring 2017, I plan to travel to Thailand and participate in study abroad program through CISabroad.
The program runs for an entire semester. I will be taking classes at Mahidol University with Thai and
other international students.
It was more that this program picked me then I picked this program. My field of study at Ohio
University is Wildlife and Conservation Biology. As I looked through programs it was extremely
difficult to find a program with classes that would work for my major. This was the only program that
offered a variety of courses specifically related to wildlife and ecology. It also worked out well
financially since the program s cost was lower than average. Though this course might have been my
only viable option I am glad it was. The more I learn about Thailand the

I curse the amount of street lights there are and go around to the side of the house, careful to duck into

person. Just desperate, and well aware that desperation may get me locked up, or worse killed. If I
have to analyze my motives, what moved me from point A to point B, I would say it was the smirk on

Sign language has quickly been becoming a dominant language across the world in the way that
different culture has been changing in the past few decades. The only way for it to continue becoming
a bigger part of the future is if more and more people begin to understand at least the basics of sign
language. This would not just show how much the world has been changing, it would also benefit
those who really are deaf or hard of hearing and need sign language as a way to communicate with
others that they want to surround themselves with. It would encourage the deaf community to reach
out to more people hoping that they would understand them and appreciate them rather then just not
associating themselves with anyone. With more people beginning

Symbolism In An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge
During times of war, it was common for betrayal and sabotage among the opposing sides. That was
the case between the North and South during the Civil War. Peyton Farquhar, supporting the South,
wants to help as much as possible, so when someone he believes to be on his side informs him on how
he could sabotage the North, he immediately takes action. What Farquhar does not know is that the
federal scout sets him up to get caught and hanged as an example and warning to others on Owl Creek
Bridge. He imagines escaping and getting home to his wife while in the noose, although the events are
all in his head. In the short story An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, Ambrose Bierce uses
symbolism and point of view to explain how the absurdity of war can derange one s deception of time
and reality. Bierce utilizes several objects to symbolize Farquhar s journey from reality to fantasy due
to consequences of war on individuals. Owl Creek Bridge is where the story, except for the flashback,
takes place. Farquhar gets caught there, hanged there, and he dies there. The bridge serves as an
intermediary between the two river banks, his freedom, and a transition point in his mind as he deserts
reality. The point when he begins to day dream is when he believes that he escapes from the hanging,
As Peyton Farquhar fell straight downward through the bridge... From this state he was awakened
ages later (Bierce 470). From this description, Farquhar loses the ability to determine time; he

What Does Route 66 Mean To You Essay
Honk! Honk! Seat belts buckled? Have you ever wondered how America looked while sightseeing
down Route 66 back in the past? As you often travel down a flat, straight road, you are thinking this
road trip is terrible, but when you get on Route 66 you feel like a bird soaring through the sky. Most
people choose to ride on the interstate to get to places quicker, while in my opinion taking the back
roads is way better because you get to explore new sights. Way back in history route 66 was a unique
road to travel on, and the story The Best of America is on the Blue Highways, really explains why.
This author gives great examples of driving on Route 66, and what it represents. Route 66 represents
America and its beautiful features. In the story the author states, Route 66, to me, represents America
before we had the same stores at every mall and the same restaurants along every Main Street. It
represents an America where people could open a diner or a tourists attraction or a store on the town
square and do something unique and interesting and make a living at it. It has many original features,
along with many distinctive places. Many people often opened small businesses along this highway.
This historic road led people to many places, such as, Chicago to Santa Monica. This road was also
known as THE road. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

highway represents America and its sovereignty. The author always thought that road was taking him

past knowledge this road is not just any ordinary road. It is a road that makes you feel like you can
soar, and you also feel like it is taking you to the past! Just think of how it used to be. Its amazing
now, but back when there was several tourist attractions this road would be

war era of motor vehicles truly is home to some of the best selling cars and the ones that gave their

today. There were many great cars produced in the sixties but not all have sold as mean as these next
few did. They truly are some of the best selling cars of the sixties and all time. Surprisingly, the mini

  • 2. Property Laws Essay http://www.thebluediamondgallery.com/tablet/images/claim.jpg We re all here on this earth using what we have. We ve been taught that things we are given are ours solely to use for our own personal use and so we identify that with ownership. For instance when you re born there is a piece of paper created and somewhere along the way someone hands it to you and you believe that s yours. You re told what your name is. It s that is also yours but the thing about it is its intellectual property. It s owned by someone else. Under use of property laws everything created is owned by someone else. https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3363/3311100676_b996889884_z.jpg?zz=1 To put it a simpler way, I have nothing to do with anything that s out there at all ... It has already happened and it s over with, at least since World War One. Here in the USA we were the model for the New World Order of martial law. When we had Civil War the Lieber code was enacted. It s the law that the military has to follow. Within that code there s an article that says during war times the soldiers will protect the peaceful inhabitants. This code was reenacted under the League of Nations renamed The Hague Convention. The same rules still apply today. The peaceful inhabitants are non combatative users of property. • 3. Redwood Library Essay In the United States, public buildings, such as libraries, banks, or government buildings, tie into the towns and cities they are helping in the community. The aesthetic for many of these public buildings follow a similar pattern based on neoclassicism elements. A great example to the start of this trend in public building aesthetic is the Redwood Library in Newport, RI designed by Peter Harrison. I picked this building because of its aesthetic and architecture. The Redwood Library was the start of the use of neoclassicism elements that began to influence future public buildings and properties of its time. The American colonial library was completed in 1750 and followed at Georgian architecture design. This design consisted of merging of architectural aspects from pattern books mainly from Greek and Roman origins (Zawadzki). The Redwood Library itself was based on a Roman Doric temple in Andrea Palladio s Architecture. There are doric order columns with a portico and wings with a very triangle looking roof (Craven). Although based on designs made of concrete and stone, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was a large collection of knowledge for the public in colonial America. Noticed by Thomas Jefferson, the library was framed as the prime example of what a public building should be (History). • 4. Gun Control versus The Right to Bear Arms Essay With the topic of gun control comes a widely split crowd. There are those that believe that gun control is necessary for decreasing crime and making a nation a safer place to live. And on the other end of the spectrum, they are those that speak of how anti gun control is what would make our nation a safer place to live. After all, ?Would a person be as likely to break into another family s home knowing that the family has means of personal protection?? (Warren 308). ?Most everyone will agree that felons, addicts, morons, juveniles, alcoholics, the mentally incompetent, and others in whose hands even an ice pick or a baseball bat becomes a deadly weapon, should be denied a gun.? This is simply not true. ?During the period in which the second amendment was written, ?regulated? was defined as ?properly disciplined??(Gardiner) The creators of this amendment believed that those choosing to exercise their right to bear arms needed to be trained, and become experienced and competent in their usage. What is the Bill of Rights? The Rights of the individual, what we, the people, are allowed to do under these broad Amendment ?laws.? Let us take a look back at how the Bill of Rights comes into play with the second amendment. In 1689 the English Bill of Rights was passed, by Parliament in response to King James II trying to disarm his subjects. The English Bill of Rights allowed people to be armed ?suitable to their conditions? and ?allowed by law.? This right was then transferred to the American colonies, and after the American Revolution, our Bill of Rights of 1791, further strengthened the second amendment claim of the people?s right to bear arms, with the words ?the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.? The Bill of Rights limits the power of the federal government. How does it do this? How about an example? Can the federal government establish a federal religion that all must follow and have faith in? Most definitely not, the first amendment prohibits this from happening. • 5. Socrates As A Hero Throughout the world s history, there have been civilizations that have come and gone. These civilizations are represented to the world today by leaders and their ideals of those times. One such leader was a person of thought from the city state Athens in Greece. (7) This person was Socrates, the quintessential philosopher, the seeker and conveyor of wisdom. (8) Paul Johnson states, Such a man is well worth knowing about, and for 2,500 years the learned and intellectually enterprising in all countries have sought to know him. (8) But what is really known about a man who lived thousands of years ago and who left no written record of himself. The starting point to understand Socrates and his thoughts are through the words of his pupils. (8 9) Socrates was a philosopher whose ideals changed the world around him and have an effect the world today. Paul Johnson, the author of Socrates: A Man for Our Times, argues that part of heroism is philosophy at its last resort. Whoever is going after the excellence of the mind should have the courage, to practice philosophy to the point of sacrificing everything, even one s life. Johnson argues that Socrates did just that. (194) Johnson goes on to say that Socrates was a man and thinker, as a hugely real, living, and enjoyable human being. (14) Through Socrates opinions, personality, and mostly his love for the people and the city of Athens overall made him a striking person (34). Johnson goes on to show the reader the ... • 6. The Pros And Cons Of Birth Tourism Birth Tourism has been a booming subject as immigrant families travel to the United States to have their children in the country. One state particularly immigrants have been traveling to is the state of California. With California being close to the coast, it makes it easier for immigrants to pick the destination for birth tourism. According to a World post article, it states that, The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizenship to every person born on American soil, a fact that has long motivated foreigners from all over the world to give birth in the U.S. (Sheehan 1). This shows that, immigrants want to come to the United States to start their families because they want their children to be able to grow up as an American citizen. With the birth tourism rate growing rapidly in the United States, it s been proven that China has brought the most birth tourism to the country. As stated in the World Post article, No reliable data exists on the number of Chinese births in the U.S, but estimates by industry publications projected a total of 60,000 for 2014, a six fold increase over 2012 (Sheehan 5). With China having a huge impact with birth tourism, there are still other countries that are involved with the birth tourism rate, mostly Latin American countries seeking economic opportunities. With birth tourism being a very popular thing there are a lot of economic pros and cons. It s not a cheap thing to do to come to the United States to have a baby. In the World Post Article, it states that Having a child in California is not cheap for Chinese parents: Package deals at maternity hotels often start at $20,000 and go much higher (Sheehan 10). With that being said it also states that, given birth to their second child in China, they likely would have faced fines equal to $40,000 for violation of the country s one child policy (Sheehan 11). This shows that its cheaper to have another child in the United States, therefore bringing the birth tourism rate higher in the United States because of the prices. Also in China there is a one child policy where you can only have one child, wear as in the states you can have as many babies as you would like. As stated in the World post You ve got ... In the seventeenth century, the city of Rome became the model indication of Catholic dignity and satisfaction articulated in all the arts. (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, n.d.) The secular nobles also saw the dramatic style of baroque architecture and art as a means of impressing visitors and prospective competitors. • 10. The Human Of Human Cloning 1. INTRODUCTION Human cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy of a human. However, this term not only refers to the entire artificial human, but also the reproduction of human cells and tissues. There are two types of theoretical human cloning: reproductive cloning which would involve making an entire cloned human and the other, therapeutic cloning, which would involve cloning cells from a human for use in medicine and transplants by somatic cell nuclear transfer or pluripotent stem cell induction. In reproductive cloning the entire genetic code is reproduced from a single body cell of an adult individual. The most common cloning technique is somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT). The procedure is as follows: The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... iPSCs are typically derived by introducing products of specific sets of pluripotency associated genes, or reprogramming factors , into a given cell type. 2. ISSUES Although the human cloning seems fairly beneficial and useful for human welfare, the possibility of human cloning has raised controversies. Concerning reproductive cloning, advocates believe that parents who cannot otherwise procreate should have access to the technology. Some opponents have concerns that technology is not yet developed enough to be safe while others emphasize that reproductive cloning could be prone to abuse (leading to the generation of humans whose organs and tissues would be harvested), and have concerns about how cloned individuals could integrate with families and with society at large. With regards to therapeutic cloning, the problem is that many attempts are often required to create a viable egg. The stability of the egg with the infused somatic nucleus is poor and it can require hundreds of attempts before success is attained. Therapeutic cloning does result in the destruction of an embryo after stem cells are extracted and this destruction has stirred controversy over the morality of the procedure. Some argue that the pros outweigh the cons with regards to treating disease and support development of therapeutic cloning in order to generate tissues and whole ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The allusion of the red carpet refers to the red carpet treatment that is given to hosts of considerable status. Nowadays, red carpets are literally rolled out for functions with celebrities and movie stars alike. 2. In her essay, LaFramboise delivers a powerful and thought provoking message about the untrue belief that society has lead us to believe. That is, that males have an easier red carpet, like experience in life. 3. When LaFramboise writes, Girls are victims of circumstance and boys are masters of their own fate. Girls are moulded and manipulated by the social pressures; boys make conscious choices. Girls get to blame everyone but themselves; everyone gets to blame boys. • 16. An Initial Link Effect On Gambling Behavior Suboptimal choice: An initial link effect on gambling behaviour Introduction Human gambling often involves the decision to choose a low probability pay off, with the illusion of gaining quick and easy money, over a high probability pay off. This reflects a form of suboptimal choice behaviour. Suboptimal choice refers to the choice that does not result in the highest overall reinforcement one could achieve. The probability of actually winning is slim to none when gambling, but these behaviours are significantly popular. One of the most insidious behaviour humans engage in is compulsive gambling, which had been associated with several negative outcomes for the compulsive gambler and their loved ones. Thus, it is important to understand why humans make suboptimal choices and ultimately know how to reduce the probability of such choices to occur (Fantino, Navarro, O daly, 2005). Research on this topic aims to investigate the underlying mechanisms involved such as the environmental factors influencing suboptimal behaviour, and the behavioural process in making decisions. Several animal studies have been used to investigate the underlying mechanisms of this suboptimal choice behaviour (Cowie, Davison, Elliffe, 2011; Gipson, Alessandri, Zentall, 2009; Jimenez Gomez Shahan, 2012; McDevitt, Dunn, Spetch, Ludvig, 2016; Spetch, Mondloch, Belke, Dunn, 1994; Stagner Zentall, 2010; Zentall, 2014). As multinationals continue their global expansion efforts, it will be important to not only tailor strategy to local markets but also individual products and services. Learning Philosophy And Teaching Philosophy Creating a multitude of experiences for students and focusing instruction around the vocabulary that stems from those experiences is the foundation of my teaching philosophy. From daily exposure and continuous personal research I know that poverty means more than a lack of money; it means a lack of resources financial, relational, neurological, social emotional, experiential, and linguistic. It was from this list of necessary resources that I developed my teaching philosophy and the strategies to reinforce it. Currently, I collaboratively teach Pre K with another teacher, two teacher assistants and 40 children. About 60% of my students are English language learners. I teach all subjects: reading, writing, math, science, and art. Inclusive in the content are the social emotional skills: patience, sharing, focus, emotional vocabulary, standing up for others, using words instead of violence, exploration, and the value of creativity. Collaborative teaching is a critical tool for balancing efficacious direct instruction and observation/assessment. By choosing to team teach I have provided myself with supports that make time for meaningful student teacher interactions and encourage daily reflection of student growth. The evidence in human and mouse trials have shown that ABAC7 has a role in the regulation of Alzheimer s treatment and risk. Studies have shown that placebos work as good as the actual when a short period of time is examined. The placebo also makes for a good test group/control group. The results were not released at the time of the article. I d like to see the results with hope people will have another option for slowing or preventing the spread of this disease.
