A Critical Analysis Of John Keats On First Looking Into...
One message from each of the Keats poem.
( A critical analysis of Keats poems )
Many messages are displayed in the literature of John Keats. Mostly throughout his stories he
talks about himself and his feelings. And he really represents himself throughout his poems. One
message can be found in each of the Keats poems, On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer ,
When I have Fears that I May Cease to Be , Ode to a nightingale , and of course Ode On a Grecian
Urn . Romance, forgotten fame, importance of knowledge, acceptance of death.
Keats first poem, On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer , the message is the importance of
knowledge. Keats found his knowledge through books, whether it be writing and or reading it
allowed him to grow in intelligence making him one of the most famous poets in his time. The
message of knowledge is to have it and take everything that s around you and grow from it. In John
Keats poem On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer He mentions traveling, Much have I
traveled in the realms of gold , (line 1, pg. 883) What is being implied here is that Keats traveled
everywhere in the world through books. He grew more knowledgeable by reading and learned
many things just by books and all that was in them. In order to improve compliance, an increase of
knowledge (Vanderwal, Jaarsma, Moser, Veeger, Gilst, Veldhuisen). They explain how important
knowledge is to obtain in order to do and have other things.

Individuality And Uniqueness In Emerson s Self Reliance By...
1.In the essay Self Reliance, Ralph Waldo Emerson addressed the topic of originality and
uniqueness to depict the idea that these are the qualities that make people great. Emerson stated
that We but half express ourselves, and are ashamed of that divine idea which each of us
represent in order to argue that each person has a uniqueness because their environments is
unique (Emerson 2). The quote infers that every person in society has an ability to possess a
unique idea. Every person has a unique idea, which means that every person can become a free
thinker. Those who do not act on their thoughts and ideas due to societal rules lose the chance to
become unique. Emerson believed that Society is a wave. The wave moves onward, but the water
of which it is composed does not , meaning something sparks society to do something, everyone
starts doing it but why they do it is lost over time (Emerson 20). The wave of society represents the
masses and the water that makes up the wave are the individuals in society. Every person has an
ability to possess a divine thought but cannot ferment it because of societal restraints (the wave).
Due to the influence of society, one lacks the strength to act on their original thought and follows
the crowd. Martin Luther acted on his original thought but thousands of people adopted his
thoughts, even though the reasons for his regional thought are no longer present. Instead of
creating and following their own ideas, they adopted Luther s instead. In society, many people
follow and imitate well established beliefs, thus leading to the lack of divine thought. In the
reading, Emerson came to a conclusion that all people have divine thoughts but cannot act on them
because of societal influences.
2.In the reading titled Self Reliance, Ralph Waldo Emersonaddressed the topic of truth and honesty.
According to Emerson, one who went Upright and vital, and speak the rude truth is unique
(Emerson 4). Emerson followed this quote stating that one shall Speak what you think now in hard
words, and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks...though it contradicts everything (Emerson 7).
What Emerson views as a man simply stating his thoughts and ideas can be seen in society as a
contradiction in

Essay Intellectual Property and Copyrights Issues in China
Intellectual Property and Copyrights Issues in China
1. Introduction
China had made great improvement in deregulation and had complied with its obligations to follow
rules and agreements such as Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights
(TRIPS) as a new member of the World TradeOrganization (WTO) since 2001. TRIPS introduced
intellectual property rules into the multilateral trading system. It ensures that computer programs
will be protected as literary works under the Berne Convention and outlines how databases should
be protected under copyright section.
As the rush to riches continues to gain pace, people s legal right to own private property is
protected by a law. However, Intellectual property and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The derivative works are encouraged with the condition that derivatives must be designated as
freeware. Most prominent offering is the GNU/Linux operating system.
When the original copyright holder explicitly relinquishes all rights to the software it is classified
as public domain software. All intellectual works and software are protected when they are
committed to a medium. Therefore it must be marked as such to be public domain.
2) What s the difference? Copyrights, patents, trademarks, etc
They are treated differently because they use different types of creations. According to WTO
definition, patents, industrial designs, integrated circuit designs, geographical indications and
trademarks have to be registered in order to be protected by law. However, copyright and trade
secrets are protected automatically according to specified conditions. There is no need to disclose
and this is how copyrighted computer software is constructed.
2. Copyright Status
China ranked second for software piracy after Vietnam in 2000 report from Business Software
Alliance. US is reckoned to lose $1.12bn in 2000 through Chinese copyright abuse. Chinese
authorities called for better implementations of Chinese copyright issues be implemented and they
are trying to maintain control over its expending internet population, which more than quadrupled
during 1999 to 8.9 million users according to Chinese officials.

Research Paper On Russian Revolution
The Russian Revolution is the collective term for a pair of revolutions in Russia in 1917, which
dismantled the Tsarist autocracy and led to the eventual rise of the Soviet Union. The Russian
Empire collapsed with the abdication of Emperor Nicholas II, and the old regime was replaced by
a provisional government during the first revolution of February 1917 (March in the Gregorian
calendar; the older Julian calendar was in use in Russiaat the time). In the second revolution that
October, the Provisional Government was removed and replaced with a Bolshevik (Communist)
government.
The February Revolution (March 1917) was a revolution focused around Petrograd (now Saint

During this chaotic period there were frequent mutinies, protests and many strikes. When the
Provisional Government chose to continue fighting the war with Germany, the Bolsheviks and
other socialist factions campaigned for stopping the conflict. The Bolsheviks turned workers

substantial control.[1]
In the October Revolution (November in the Gregorian calendar), the Bolshevik party, led by
Vladimir Lenin, and the workers Soviets overthrew the Provisional Government in Petrograd and
established the Russian SFSR, eventually shifting the capital to Moscow in 1918. The Bolsheviks
appointed themselves as leaders of various government ministries and seized control of the

Similarities Between George Orwell And Animal Farm
Animal Farm is a novel written by English writer George Orwell (1903 1950). The book is about
animals rising and taking over a farm after years of being abused by the human owners. However,
the book has many parallels The Russian Revolution, such as the Animals need to take over the
farm and exile Mr Jones, how Snowball is exiled from animal farm and how Napoleon becomes
just like the very thing the animals sought to exile from their farm.
The overtaking of Manor Farm represents many events that took place during The Russian
Revolution. Firstly, Old Majors speech about how life is miserable and how all animals are equal
draws many parallels with Karl Marx s Communist Manifesto, a book about the basics of
communism. Karl Marx, just like old Major was considered the Father of Communism, just like
how Old Major was Considered the Father of Animalism. Furthermore, Mr Jones, the owner of
the farm, is very similar the current ruler at the time, Tsar Nicholas II. Mr Jones, just like
Nicholas II, was very unpopular amongst his people. He did not really want to rule and did not
care for the people whom he led. Eventually, both leaders were exiled by the people. Overall,
through the many similarities between the rulers of pre rebellion Russia and Manor Farm, and the
parallels between Karl Marx and Old Major, it is difficult to miss the similarities between Animal
Farm and Stalinist Russia.
The two battles that take place during Animal Farm represent The Russian Civil War and World

Acute Consumption Of Cannabis And Driving Performance
According to the textbook, Understanding the research game begins with an identification of the
institution supporting the research through funding and hiring researchers as well as granting
permission for the research (Wilkins, 2011). The institution preforming and supporting this
research is called BMJ. BMJ is a pair reviewed medical research journal aimed at providing first
class information concerning issues. In addition, the BMJ assists medical organizations and
clinicians in tacking today s most critical healthcare challenges. ( Our expertise | BMJ , 2016) As
stated in the textbook, The purpose of the research concerns the motivation of the researchers given
institutional parameters as well as the research topic applied . (Wilkins, 2011). That being said, the
purpose of this study is to determine whether the acute consumption of cannabis(cannabinoids) by
drivers increases the risk of a motor vehicle collision. Hence, one can say that the explicit reason

driving performance. On the contrary, the implicit purpose of the research is to reduce the number
of vehicle collisions caused my acute consumption of cannabis (marijuana). The report also aims

Education And Social Problem Solving Skills
Introduction Teachers have different ways of engaging children in social problem solving skills.
The literature review revolves around this argument. The different topics to be discussed are
inclusive of the children capabilities in terms of their social emotional development and skills that
children need in order to become problem solvers. The other topic is the methodology which
discusses the strategies used in different articles, the classroom environment and the action of
teachers as models following their professional development from their training to coaching
activities. At the end the paper the influence of this training on children is discussed. Children

This provides significant positive impacts statistically on the social behaviors of the three year

potential directions for future research and the development of pre school interventions to

etc.) Pitri, E. (2013), discusses Creative Problem solving via artwork. It involves analysis and
logical thinking and also irrational thinking through ways such as fantasy and play. Creativity is
ideally not a requirement in problem solving but creative production is a situation that needs
problem solving. Individuals who are creative are able to solve problems in a more innovative,
appropriate manner and high quality. Art activities help children face technical, interpersonal and
contextual problems, following critical thinking skills the children can make choices among a
variety of possible solutions (Pitri, E. 2013). Children who solve problems using creative thinking
skills to solve problems are usually focused on the task and they continuously define new problems
and can ask questions out loud. Problem solving skills and reasoning create a foundation for the
learning of a lifetime. Reasoning, making inferences, implementing decisions and analysing
arguments to solve the common problems are all important skills across all the areas of
development. The skills give

Wells, R. (1980). Morris s disappearing bag: A Christmas story (3rd ed.). Harmondsworth,

Genre: Children
It s Christmas Day and Morris is missing. A simple story about the youngest who initially is happy
with his bear until he realising that he is missing out on sharing the other presents his siblings have
received because he has nothing they want to share. Not happy, Morris is unable to be consoled,
even though he has various ideas from his older family members, until he finds a disappearing bag
and then everyone wants what he has. Simple text, that is funny and engaging with simple
drawings to support a charming story. With beautiful imagery the story shows how Morris copes
with his siblings and them not sharing with him.

The Importance of Proper Wine Storage
A. The Importance of Proper Wine Storage
While most of the commodities are consumed within 24 hours from the time of purchase, wines
are often preserved for long term storage and aging. Wine is one of the things that get better with
time when stored and aged properly but it can also spoil and deteriorate rapidly if kept in
inappropriate condition. Proper storage and aging will enhance the wine s flavor, color and quality
in general.
In order for us to better understand the concept of preserving and aging of wines, the following
critical elements should be taken into consideration.
1.Light
Wines, especially white wines should not be subjected to excessive amounts of light. Wines
should not be stored under direct sunlight and fluorescent lights with ultraviolet light in the
wavelength of 325 to 450 nm. Light may adversely react with the chemical compounds in wine
and create potential wine faults or defects which often leads to the wine having a lightstruck
aroma (or gouts de lumiere French for tastes of light). A wine with a lightstruck aroma is
characterized by a decrease in citrus aroma, while the intensity of unpleasant aroma increased.
Wine stored in dark area are mostly to maintain its clarity and citrus aroma thus, most wines are
packed in colored glass and stored in dark cellars.
2.Humidity
Humidity is also a critical element of wine storage to be considered especially if wine cork closures
and stoppers are used. The efficacy of the wine cork depends upon the

Comparison Between Birds And Pilate
Pilate is better able to fly away from societal expectations than the men in her life because she
does so without leaving others behind. Milkman leaves Hagar to die when he begins his search
for his heritage, and Macon Jr alienates almost everyone in the town when he aggressively collects
rents. By contrast, Pilate had flown around the expectations for her to cling to strong male figures,
and she had avoided the greed that many of her male neighbors displayed, but she had done so
without causing harm to her loved ones. Pilate s flight is represented by the bird that flies away
with the earrings because the bird combines the traditionally masculine quality of flight, and the
traditionally feminine quality of singing.. In the novel, singing

La Vita Nuova; Dante s Definition of True Love
La Vita Nuova is a collection of poems by Dante about an unconventional love story. Dante
expresses his Love for a woman named Beatrice but his definition of love is not of courtly or
romantic love. To Dante, the meaning of true love in La Vita Nuova is God.
On the surface, the Love Dante feels for Beatrice seems like it could be romantic or courtly love
because they are defined as being an intense feeling of deep connection. However, his love is not
derived from sexual desires, or lust for Beatrice and his Love is not reciprocated. He never portrays

This is when we first hear him articulate his desire as being something that is awaken from within
him but he also says it can only happen by the right person, saying; ...while praising my lady I
should make plain how Love is awakened through her, and not only awakened where he is
sleeping, for where he is not in potentiality she, by her miraculous power, caused him to be.
(XXI, 1). Dante is describing his soul to be inactive before Beatrice came into his life and since
he first saw her it s as if his spirit, holy spirt, was revived. This Love takes him on the path through
his life and every time he saw Beatrice he would then have visions of divine nature.
After one of his visions, Dante struggled with conflicting thoughts of Love, that disturbed his
peace of mind, The domination of Love is a good thing because he guides the mind of his
faithful followers away from all unworthiness, [and] The domination of Love is not good
because the more faithfully a follower serves him, the more burdensome and grievous are the
moments he must endure. (XIII, 5). Dante is articulating Love to be a man and a higher power,
i.e God. He struggles with his Love for Beatrice because he is overwhelmed with emotion when she
is present; much like someone would feel in the presence of God. This is why he feels conflicted.
He also speaks of Beatrice as

Essay on The Use of Deceptive Interrogation
People face ethical dilemmas every day. But it is perhaps, most prevalent in the law enforcement
profession. Law enforcement officers face ethical dilemmas constantly. Some of the ethical
issues that police face each day are: racial profiling, officer discretion, police officer loyalty,
police officer abuse, and interrogatory deception. This paper will discuss the purpose of
interrogatory deception, ways in which it is used, some of the current debates over the practice,
and a landmark ruling in the Miranda case of 1966 which attempted to cease the use of intimidation
and coercion practices of the police.
The first thing that should be thought about prior to any form of interrogation is the suspect s
rights; particularly his or her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A different viewpoint might be to get the suspect talking and keep him or her talking. The problem
arises when an officer sits down with a suspect in an attempt to gain the truth or a confession;
however, the suspect refuses to cooperate.
So how can an officer facilitate the process and get a suspect to talk or even better, confess?
Years ago this was accomplished by police through the use of force also known as police
brutality. That practice has been abandoned due to its inhumane and brutal nature and its
infringement of individual rights. Police were forced to seek an alternate means of obtaining
information that did not rely on inhumane practices. This turnaround came in the form of
trickery and deceit; called interrogatory deception. This type of psychological coercion is taught
and practiced daily by today s law enforcement. It is based on the utilitarian standpoint by police
that the means justifies the outcome. This type of interrogation is performed in a way which
elicits admissions by deceiving suspects who have waived their right to remain silent (Skolnick
Leo, 1992). For example, an officer could say that it will be easier on the suspect if he talks. An
officer could even say that the suspect s accomplice is giving or has given officers all the
information. The ethical issue then arises about coercion and deception. Should this practice be
considered ethical? Should an officer

A Year I Had An Exciting Summer
This year I had an exciting summer. I did many fun and exciting things, but my best memory was
when I went to vacation to New Mexico. I went for about 2 weeks and had a great time. We ve
gone 2 years in a row now and hope to go back next year. My family and I went to go visit my dad
s side of the family. The main reason we went was for my cousin Jasmine s Quinceanera (which is
the celebration of a teenage girl turning 15 in the Hispanic culture).
This year almost my whole family that lives in Indiana and my other relatives from Ohio also
went. Last year it was only my family so that s why this year was better. The best thing about the
trip was the car ride. Since more family went this time we got to ride with whoever we wanted. I
rode in my aunt s car with her, my cousin Kim who is my age, my cousin Alisen who is younger
than us, and my twin sister Breanna. We took 4 cars since 4 families went, and we were all
following each other it took about 18 hours to get there. We left on a Thursday at around 7 pm
and got there Friday at around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. The road trip was fun, because we jammed
out to our favorite hits, we stopped to eat and get snack many times, and we just talked and
laughed and had a great time and made great memories it was a fun road trip.
So once we got to New Mexico we went straight to my aunt s house (the same house we stayed last
year we came) as soon as we got off we got attacked by all of our cousins. After that we all got

Unfortunately, once the police get involved Child Protective Service comes and remove the
children from the home. This is another form of legal moralism. Which is the government has
not only the right but also the obligation to enforce public morality using the full power of the
government, regardless of whether anybody is harmed by the action in question. Morally, I do
feel that anyone that observes minor children at risk should always get involved regardless of it
being a next door neighbor. Children don t have voices and that s when a mandated reported

Network Performance Quality Of Service Project Report
The aim of this project is to investigate and implement a standardised way to monitor and improve
quality of service for a user with devices connected to the internet of things. Although there are
several papers referring to the need for this, any implementation has been on an ad hoc bases for
specific devices/issues and not rolled out as a standard approach.
The approach this project is taking is to implement an algorithm which will monitor a network
and work to improve its quality or service through different protocols. It will not be specific to
just one application and the end goal would be the algorithm working with all types of IoT devices
and handle a range of issues. 2.The Problem

requirements, trying to guarantee the consistency as well as effectively use the existing QoS
mechanisms in every layer. (Duan, Chen and Xing, 2011)
Other research suggests that the integration between IoT and other technologies such as Cloud
Computing is in its infantile phase and it has not been extended to all application domains due to
its inadequate quality of service architecture. (T, S and A, 2015) . We see here the lack of QoS in
the IoT also has an impact on the future and extendibility of the IoT. Within this area of QoS,
which continues to be actively researched, there is still a gap in any currently available solution.
This project aims to contribute to this gap.
3.The Proposed Solution
The proposed solution is to develop a protocol, a set of rules, to monitor application performance
and the real time state of the network in the Internet of Things (IoT). The objective of this ruleset
is to achieve Quality of Service (QoS) from the network perspective and Quality of Experience
(QoE) from the user perspective. This ruleset will support a range of devices and applications in
the IoT. There will also be consideration taken into

Business Operations Across The World
Executive Summary:
Recently globalization and internationalization has become more important for multinational
companies. Many companies start to look abroad to expand their business activities as world
become more unified. Managing business operation across the country is biggest challenge
especially for international business today.
In this assignment I would like to discuss about McDonald. The McDonalds Company is one of
the most effective and successful global restaurant chains around the world. They have used very
effective management and worldwide growth strategies to enter new markets and gain a share of
the foreign fast food market. This paper presents how McDonalds has attained this massive success,

Hofstede (2001) defines the five dimensions of cultures as power distance, individualism versus
collectivism, masculinity versus femininity, uncertainty avoidance, and long term versus short term
orientation.
Japan is a high background culture and their method of communication is very difficult. As
compare to the American communication culture. American do not go into the depth details of
their culture. Many international companies often fail to understand the context of a particular
culture as they rush in with their offer in that country. They feel that the strategy which had
delivered them success in their home culture, will replicate in other cultures. P G is a good
example they made the mistake when they tried to sell Camay in Japan. Due to lack of
communication. We have seen many branches of Mcdonald s in different countries because we
also eat the same food as American people eat but it does not mean we also consume the same
content. Because it seems like we eat the same online platform it does not that Japanese people
have same culture and beliefs. It was the first opportunity for McDonalds to expand business in
Asia. So, they decided the use their own culture dishes in manue. Instead of using their home
country strategy. There are other many countries where McDonalds does not exist especially
central Asia (North Korea) has never been admirer a big brands, especially American brands.

My Experience At School And Outside Of School
To you, I, Dora Su, may not seem like a very special person just because I am not perfect, but I
am definitely limited edition. For sure, I am not your typical teenager; in fact, I am the person to
learn high level mathematics and science in my free time rather than the person who would play
video games such as League of Legends or text and socialize in their free time. Time to me is very
valuable and I enjoy spending this time learningand spending it wisely while having bits of fun. As
myself, I am an immensely ambitious in learning and trying new activities, I am a risk taker for

Staples Incorporation States On Their Sit Essay
Staples Incorporation states on their sit, We ve been helping businesses for nearly 30 years, and it
s all thanks to a broken typewriter ribbon. (Staples Inc., 2014)
Tom Stemberg founded Staple Incorporation in 1985. Mr. Stemberg was a former supermarket
chain executive. Over the Fourth of July, Mr. Stemberg was working on a businessproposal when
his typewriter ribbon broke. Due to it being a holiday weekend most local supplies and
stationary stores were closed. So he drove from store to store looking for the correct ribbon and
was not able to find it. Since Mr. Stemberg had so much trouble over the holiday weekend trying
to find the right ribbon for his typewriter, it made him realized that the world was in need of a
store that provided office products.
Ten months later Mr. Stemberg opened up Staples Incorporation becoming the first and only
office supple store a round. Staples helped make office supplies more accessible an affordable to
customers in need of them. It was a one stop shop for office supplies.
Since than, many things have changes for Staples, they grew in number of stores, expanded their
product selections and becoming a truly global company. But even though Staples increase in size
and products they kept one thing strong. Their customers are always their number one priority and
Staples is there to help them make more happen no mater what it is they want to accomplish.
Today the business world changes all the time and Staples has learn to grow with it.

The London Plague Of 1348 And 1665
The London Plagues of 1348 and 1665 The London Plagues refers to two periods of disease
outbreak in England. One plague, the Black Death, began in 1348. Another plague, the Great
Plague, began in 1665. Both of these outbreaks killed a substantial amount of the population at the
time. The plague exists in two forms: bubonic and pneumonic. A bubonic plagueis spread by flea
bites and results in painful sores on the body. A pneumonic form of the plague is airborne and
spread by coughing and sneezing. Both the Black Deathand the Great Plague existed in both forms
of plague that resulted in widespread death and affected permanent change in English society in
different ways.
The Black Death An outbreak that occurred in 1348 and lasted until 1350 and popped up a few
more times in later years in England is known as the Black Death. This deadly plague occurred
in Medieval England, so there was not enough medical knowledge to help combat its spread. The
outbreak became an epidemic, killing six out of every 10 people in London, or 1.5 million of the
four million people who were living there at the time (Appleby 162).
How It Spread Asia is the likely origin of the Black Death, which was long believed to have only
been the result of the bites from fleas that had also bitten infected rats (Appleby 163). It was
thought that the fleas injected the disease into the victim during the bite (Appleby 163), but recent
medical evidence proves this was only one way the disease was

Negligence Of Negligence Falls Under Tort Law
.0 Introduction Negligence is the failure to exercise due care or diligence that a reasonable or
prudent man would exercise in similar circumstances. The law of negligence falls under tort law
where it involves harm that is caused by carelessness and not intentional harm (Katter, 2002). A
tort is a civil wrong that is in the form of a breach of duty, which amounts to legal remedy that is
awarded in damages. Tort lawrests upon two principles that state that an act or omission by the
defendant interferes with the rights of the plaintiff, which in turn causes damages (Trindade,
2007). Secondly, the interference caused by the defendant gives rise to a cause of action for
damages that are as near as possible to the plaintiff s loss. Therefore, negligencecan be defined as
doing something that a reasonable man would not have done in similar circumstances or failure to
do what a reasonable man would have done which amounts to infliction of harm.
2.0 Background The main idea of the law of negligence is to ensure that people exercise
reasonable care when they act by measuring the potential harm that may foreseeably cause harm to
other people. Negligence is the principal trigger for liability to ascend in matters that deal with the
loss of property of personal injury. Therefore, a person cannot be liable for something unless they
have been found negligent or have contributed to the loss of property or injury to the plaintiff
(Stuhmcke, 2005). There is more to

Dulce Et Decorum Est Diction
Death in Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen is portrayed through the use of vivid imagery.
The poet makes the reader seem as if he is present at the event due to the use of figurative
language used to portray death. He creates a horrendous image by the use of diction. The use of
alliteration, watch the white eyes writhing in his face, (line 19) creates an image of the face of a
young man disfiguring. The diction in line 20, like a devil sick of sin, accentuates that humans are
much crueller than the devil himself. Owen uses these literary devices to show us the horror the
poet witnessed. The blood, come gargling from the froth corrupted lungs (line21 22) is
onomatopoeia which creates audio imagery. Owen is trying to show you (line 21) how it sounded
as the soldier was struggling to catch... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tone in the octave is strong and violent to demonstrate the cruelty of war. The octave begins
with passing bells, (line 1) which are bells that were used to announce a death during the early
1900 s. This is then followed by a simile, who die as cattle, where Owen compares the young men
at war to cattle. It creates an image of war being a slaughter house for young men and that their
death doesn t conjure much sorrow. In the sestet Owen writes in their eyes shall shine the holy
glimmers of goodbyes (line10 11). Here Owen creates an emotional image by the use of calm
words to create a mourning mood. It shows that the families of the fallen soldiers crying for their
loved ones have died. Owen then symbolises death as a drawing down of blinds at dusk (line 16).
Dusk is the time of the day when the sun is about to set and this is when most people pull down
the blinds of their home. It shows that the day has come to an end. This is the last line of the
sonnet and it has great significance. It symbolises the end of the sonnet and also the death of a

Filial Piety In Confucian Ideology
In Confucian ideology, filial piety is perhaps the most sacred of traditions. This concept literally
refers to the virtue of respecting one s parents, elders, and one s ancestors. However, filial piety
was not limited to the familial sphere: it was also meant to serve as a model for organizing society.
The earliest records defining filial pietys significance in Confucian ideology can be traced to a text
from the third fourth century B.C.E., The Canon of Filial Piety. Throughout succeeding eras and
dynasties, this work had been consistently regarded as the official source on the subject. The text
recounts a conversation between Confucius (referred to as the Master ) and one of his disciples,
Zeng Zi (referred to as Master Zeng ). Confucius explains to Zeng Zi that... Show more content on

Following the initial conversation between Confucius and Zeng Zi, Confucius subsequently
provides guidelines of how to act filially for people of different positions in society. These include
the common people, ministers, feudal lords, the Shi (scholars), and even the Son of Heaven. In
each case, no matter the position, Confucius strongly advocates for people to revere their parents.
Additionally people will indirectly honor their parents by acting decently towards others: those
who love their parents dare not be hateful to others (Mair, Steinhardt, Goldin, 107). Confucius
elaborated on other concepts relating to filial piety and their value within society. Regarding The
Essential Way and Utmost Virtue, there is nothing more efficacious to teach the people of intimacy
and love than filial piety. Through these teachings of respect for their parents, the people learn to
revere authority figures. Therefore they will come to respect the emperor and other rulers.
However, Confucius makes clear that a child is not acting filially if they

Analysis Of The Poem The Spoon River
Small town life is in many places. You may not see it, but its everywhere. Newport, Vermont is an
example of small town life. Newport has one small hospital, one church, no mall, many small
shops, and one small movie theater. The small town life written in on the epitaphs in Edger Lee
Masters Spoon River Anthology accurately reflects small town life in Newport, Vermont.
Edgar Lee Masters was a poet and a novelist. He was born on August 23,1868 in Garnett, Kansas.
His parents are Hardin Wallace Masters and Emma J. Dexter. Masters grew up on his
grandmother?s farm in Illinois. After growing up on his grandmother?s farm, he became a lawyer in
Chicago. He died March 5,1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Spoon River Anthology is made up of 244 epitaph poems. The epitaphs are fictional people
from a fictional town. The poems are written in free verse. Free verse is when a poet uses no
pattern to the poem.
When Masters started the Spoon River Anthology, he ?began to contribute his Spoon River
epitaphs to Reedy?s Mirror in the spring of 1914.? (Flanagan, John 21) Before this Masters never
received recognition for his work. In 1915 the Spoon River Anthology was published . It
?captured him into fame and began a critical discussion of his poetry witch raged unabated for
several decades.? (Flanagan 21)
After this Edger Lee Masters became almost immediately a towering figure in the New American
poetry. People were writing articles in various periodicals entitled Masters and

The values of these factors could be changed to develop different scenarios in the search for a

Organisations often use staff specialists to help managers apply techniques. The software and

When people became complicated and variable, the management changed into modern management

The Voting Age In Voting
At first one may think that 16 and 17 year olds are just focused on dating, having fun, and playing
sports. Most would assume that they certainly aren t mature enough or know enough about
politics to vote. However, it is just the opposite, 16 and 17 year olds are in fact very qualified to
vote and they care about politics. The votingage should be lowered to allow 16 and 17 year olds to
vote. 16 and 17 year olds are just as capable as adults in voting, letting them vote would positively
affect the voting field in numerous ways, and they are faced many responsibilities similar to adults .
16 and 17 year olds are just as qualified to vote as adults are. According to the federal Voting
Rights Act of 1965, a 6th grade education is all that is required for an adult to vote (National Youth
Rights). The majority of 16 and 17 year olds have completed more than a 6th grade level of
education, so they certainly fit the education standards required for voting. Not only do 16 and
17 year olds tend to be more educated than 6th graders, it is also shown through research that a
16 year old has the same degree of civic knowledge as a 21 year old and that 16 and 17 year olds
poses a high enough intellectual level and maturity level to vote like adults (Vote16USA). Youth
are also getting smarter. A study conducted by Professor James Flynn shows that IQ scores have

The Purpose Of The Keirsey Temperament Sorter Test
Purpose The Keirsey Temperament Sorter Test and others like it, such as the Myers Briggs Test,
are meant to measure types and aspects of one s personality based on a series of opinionated
questions. These sorts of tests are meant to show individuals what their personality types are, as
well as the careers that would fit their personality types the best. Developed by Dr. David Keirsey,
the test sorts participant into four major groups based on their personality results: artisans,
guardians, rationals, and idealists. These groups are then narrowed down into narrower categories
based on the Myers Briggs system results for separate personality types. These results are meant to
reveal a person s true character and temperament. The Keirsey Test is greatly based on human
behavior, so it is essentially measuring the daily behaviors of participants and sorting them into
different personality types, or temperaments. The test also helps to evaluate a person s character
through the opinionated questions within the test. The opinionated approach of the test makes it a
decent measure of a person s character, but only if the participant is fully open and honest about his
true self within the test, rather than being the person that they wish to be when answering the
questions. Many have reported findings that these personality tests have low validity in their results
(Dakin et al., 1994). Because so much accountability on the participants end is required for this test,

Essay on Stanislao Cannizzaro Quest for Knowledge
Throughout history, the curiosities of obtaining knowledge of facts that show the operation of
general laws have resulted into the improvements of today s society. Such curiosity of chemical
reactions coiled in the minds of John Dalton in the atomic theory, Rosalind Franklin with genetics,
and most importantly Antoine Lavoisier the father of modern chemistry. All who, worked
extensively to acquire the understanding that fascinated them most, chemistry. Another chemist
who sought after the same knowledge was Stanislao Cannizzaro. Studying organic chemistry
Cannizzaro explained how certain elements lacked the hydrogen atomin what is know n as the
Cannizzaro Reaction.
Being the youngest of ten children, Cannizzaro was born in Palermo, ... Show more content on

This reaction proved that it is possible for is a chemical reaction that involves the base induced
disproportionation of an aldehyde lacking a hydrogen atom in the alpha position. Leaving
Alessandria Cannizzaro became a professor of chemistry at the University of Genoa. While there he
wrote letters outlining the differences between atoms and molecules. Sending this letter to
Sebabastino de Luca, the chair at Pisa, the letter was published in the Pisa journal as, Sunto , in
which would be republished and translated into other languages.
Ideas based on Avogadro s law, Cannizzaro clarified the distinctions of molecules and atoms
giving a solid foundation for the formulation of the periodic law. Presenting the information in
such a clear way during a time where Avogadro s theory seemed unnecessary Cannizzaro made it
easy for scientists to grasp it and Avogadro s law became the standard. At the 1860 Karlsruhe
Congress, scientist became more aware of the Sunto and the convention was held in order to
develop a more precise definition of the atom and molecule. Explaining once again, the terms of
atom , physical molecule, and chemical molecule the third day of the congress his presentation
failed and it was decided that scientist could choose to use either Berzelius s or Avogadro s system.
However, Cannizzaro s explanation and Sunto was not finished, Angelo Pavesi, a professor at pavia,
handed out the Sunto and it

Attractiveness of the Five Forces Framework in the Russian Ice Cream Market
Although the Russian ice cream market may initially look attractive due to its consistent growth in
ice cream production/demand in recent years, after evaluating the market through the five forces
framework, it becomes clear that the market far from attractive.
Since the open market economy was first introduced to Russia in 1991, ice cream producer
competition has more than tripled in sized to 300 firms by 2002. Significant funding would be
required for ice cream manufacturing/distribution and a new entrant would also need to consider
the market s pre existing loyalty to domestic brands. There is also a luxury tax associated with ice
cream production, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though there have been numerous competitors who have entered the market, since 1997 not only
has production continued to rise, but ice cream consumption by volume and per capita has
increased as well over this time period. This is particularly interesting when considering that the
population of Russia has consistently fallen since 1990, which displays that either the market itself
is expanding to new clientele and/or ice cream customers are consuming a consistently elevating
amount. With the possibility of expanding competition through marketing warfare, the market of
customers will continue to grow with more potential to brand as well as steal/develop more market
share. As market and differentiation advantage is more readily established, there will naturally be
the elimination of smaller competitors who cannot compete in marketing funds nor have
established themselves in serving a customer niche. The introduction of new distribution through
supermarkets will also assist in market expansion by making the ice cream more convenient for
year round availability as well as less impulsive demand buyers. The supermarket as well as brand
innovations are seemingly switching customers in a direction away from just kiosk buying but that
of home consumption, which will create a new level of consumer loyalty and buyer maturity as
well as increased gross profits potentially.

Impact Of Historical Globalization On Contemporary Society
This source expresses its view on impacts of historical globalization on contemporary society. The
perspective of this source clearly states that historical globalization is not relevant or needed in
current society. Elements of the source explain how society should not spend time dwelling on
events or legacies of globalization that can not be changed. It is clear that the author of this source
has reason to believe that history should not affect the way our world is run today. The perspective
presented in the source illustrates that historical globalization is a very complex issue. One
perspective suggests that historical globalization should remain in the pastbecause we should not be
wasting timeon events of the past and focus on the presentand the future. Others, however, believe
that history is relevant to the present and is important in today s society. In evaluating the issue, it
is clear there are both positives and negatives to historical globalization in contemporary society
because it prevents history from repeating itself, allows us to improve upon ourselves, but also
prevents us from focusing on the future.
Historical globalization is important in today s society, as it prevents troubled times from
repeating. There is no doubt that our world has failed many times in the past. But, as said by many
wise people, you can always learn from your mistakes. Indian Residential Schools are an example
something we can learn from and prevent from happening again in

How To Repair Your Concrete Walkway So It s Safe And Attractive
The walkway to your front door should be kept in good condition so it doesn t ruin the appearance
of your home. Repairing cracks is important so no one trips and falls on your property. Falling on
concrete could break a bone or cause a head injury. You could even get sued for not maintaining
your walkway properly and creating a hazard. Here are a few tips for repairing cracks in your
concrete walkway and improving its appearance.
Fill In The Cracks
You can probably fill in small cracks yourself. Start by cleaning your walkway to get rid of sand
and dirt. Focus on getting debris and weeds out of all the cracks. You can buy concrete crack
filler in a squeeze container that s easy to use. Just squeeze the filler into the crack and scrape off
the excess, so the surface is level. Filling big cracks takes a little more work. To get the filler to
adhere properly, you ll need to widen the bottom of the crack. With the bottom wider than the top,
the filler will be trapped in place.
Use a pick and hammer to knock pieces of concrete loose from the bottom of the crack, being
careful not to make the top of the crack any wider. You may want to buy a bag... Show more

Call a concrete contractor to take a look and offer an opinion. Grinding the higher side of the
crack will make your walkway even again, and it is much less expensive than tearing out part of
the sidewalk and putting in new concrete. The contractor can grind away all raised portions of
your sidewalk so it is level and safe. The contractor can fill in the cracks and apply a coating on
the concrete to restore its appearance, or leave that job to you. Another time you may need to hire
a contractor is when your walkway has crumbling sides. Those need to be repaired by creating a
wooden frame along the walkway and then filling it in with

The Playboy Of The Western World
The Playboy of the Western World by John Millington is a play that conveys the theme of social
conventions in a village in Ireland around the 1900s. I had the pleasure of seeing the play The
Playboy of the Western World in the Alley Theatre on October the 9th. The theme of The
Playboy of the Western World was social conventions, all of the character had a certain criteria on
who was accepted by their community. The play sends a message of the things people will do to
be accepted in their society. Christy Mahon lied to Pegen and the other villagers about murdering
his father, Old Mahon, so they would accept him and give him refuge. Christy wanted Pegen to like
him and the lie he told not only made her interested but also the other women... Show more content

Her father had been planning to marry her to Shawn Keogh but she disapproved of him because
of his feared everything. Her main motive is to get married to someone who will protect her
from any type of danger. She does not accept Shawn because he is not seen as courageous while
Christy does because of his act of killing his father. The social conventions are imposed by her
way of thinking as well as the whole village who see courageous act of core to be admired
instead of being punished. The antagonist of the play was Christy Mahon, he came into the
village to seek somewhere to hide because he had killed his father or so he led the villagers to
believe. His main motive was to have the approval of Pegen so they could get married. Pegen
wanted someone who would protect her, she saw any type of rebellion as praiseworthy. Christy
s motives are connected to the theme because he was pretending to be a killer so that Pegeen
would be in awe of him and see his act of courage. Primary conflict between the protagonists and
antagonist is Christy wants to be admired by Pegeen because she sees his act as a quality she
wants in a man. He lies to everyone by stating he killed his own father which resulted in Pegeen s
interest towards him. Christy however, has not done this murdering act he has led Pegeen and the
other villagers to believe. He does not want Pegeen to be

The aim of this assignment is to give a brief analysis and description of the life and work of
Steve Wozniak and how his work on electronic devices such as the Apple II and the Macintosh
computer have contributed to society and have changed and developed the world for good. To
conclude, he made a significant impact on society during the late years of the 20th century, the
early years of the 21st century and the present days. 2. Introduction Life goes on and we all
develop, but along with the human race, something else continuously develops as time goes by.
That is technology. From Vinyl records to CDs, the Nintendo GameCube to the PlayStation 4, and
the IBM computer to the MacBook Pro. Technology changes as time goes by but the question...

Life and Family Steve Wozniak was born in San Jose, California on August 11, 1950 to Margaret
Kern and Jacob Francis Wozniak. His Father s ancestry is Polish and Swiss German and his
mother s is German, Irish and English. Wozniak has been married four times but only has
children with his second wife Candice Clark; these are Jesse, Sara, and Gary. Wozniak and Clark

his time teaching children about computers, hoping that they will follow in his footsteps.
Wozniak discovered his interest in Mathematics in the Fourth Grade and the recognition and

father and Tom Swift Junior as role models in the engineering world; both these men were
engineers who invented airplanes and rocket ships. 3.2 Education In the fifth grade, Wozniak
started to build his own radio transmitter and receiver and at the age of 11, he began building a
machine, which he named a ticktacktoe computer. A book about a ham radio operator inspired all
of these things he made at a young age. When Wozniak started Junior High School, he won a blue

The Constitutional Principle Of The Rule Of Law
INTRODUCTION Undoubtedly, the constitutional principle of the rule of law is one of the
most essential values in the English legal system. It has aptly been characterized as a wrapper
that is placed around a bundle of more specific principles . Interestingly, prominent personalities
like inter alia, Lord Bingham, Jeffrey Jowell and Dicey, have identified that legality, certainty,
accountability, efficiency, due process and access to justice are only a number of those specific
principles which all together constitute the rule of law. Some of these values reflect the formal
conception of the rule of law while others, the substantive. Furthermore, it would be an omission
not to say that, within the absence of a written constitution, the rule of law places a significant
role within the English legal system. The following essay will assess how the courts use the
weapons of justice, to restrain and scrutinize the abuse of the executive power in the UK. The
role of the judicial review process and the principles of: bare principle of legality and principle
of legal certainty will be examined by reference to academic opinion and case law. The
conclusion will be that, although the dogma of the rule of law managed to hold the executive up
to a satisfying level, the principle of parliamentary sovereignty does have the final say. Rule of
Law To begin with, the constitutional principle of the rule of law can be as simple as a set of
theories about what the

( A critical analysis of Keats poems ) Many messages are displayed in the literature of John Keats. Mostly throughout his stories he talks about himself and his feelings. And he really represents himself throughout his poems. One message can be found in each of the Keats poems, On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer , When I have Fears that I May Cease to Be , Ode to a nightingale , and of course Ode On a Grecian Urn . Romance, forgotten fame, importance of knowledge, acceptance of death. Keats first poem, On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer , the message is the importance of knowledge. Keats found his knowledge through books, whether it be writing and or reading it allowed him to grow in intelligence making him one of the most famous poets in his time. The message of knowledge is to have it and take everything that s around you and grow from it. In John Keats poem On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer He mentions traveling, Much have I traveled in the realms of gold , (line 1, pg. 883) What is being implied here is that Keats traveled everywhere in the world through books. • 4. Individuality And Uniqueness In Emerson s Self Reliance By... 1.In the essay Self Reliance, Ralph Waldo Emerson addressed the topic of originality and uniqueness to depict the idea that these are the qualities that make people great. Emerson stated that We but half express ourselves, and are ashamed of that divine idea which each of us represent in order to argue that each person has a uniqueness because their environments is unique (Emerson 2). The quote infers that every person in society has an ability to possess a unique idea. Every person has a unique idea, which means that every person can become a free thinker. Those who do not act on their thoughts and ideas due to societal rules lose the chance to become unique. Emerson believed that Society is a wave. The wave moves onward, but the water of which it is composed does not , meaning something sparks society to do something, everyone starts doing it but why they do it is lost over time (Emerson 20). The wave of society represents the masses and the water that makes up the wave are the individuals in society. Every person has an ability to possess a divine thought but cannot ferment it because of societal restraints (the wave). Due to the influence of society, one lacks the strength to act on their original thought and follows the crowd. Martin Luther acted on his original thought but thousands of people adopted his thoughts, even though the reasons for his regional thought are no longer present. Instead of creating and following their own ideas, they adopted Luther s instead. In society, many people follow and imitate well established beliefs, thus leading to the lack of divine thought. In the reading, Emerson came to a conclusion that all people have divine thoughts but cannot act on them because of societal influences. 2.In the reading titled Self Reliance, Ralph Waldo Emersonaddressed the topic of truth and honesty. According to Emerson, one who went Upright and vital, and speak the rude truth is unique (Emerson 4). Emerson followed this quote stating that one shall Speak what you think now in hard words, and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks...though it contradicts everything (Emerson 7). What Emerson views as a man simply stating his thoughts and ideas can be seen in society as a contradiction in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Similarities Between George Orwell And Animal Farm Animal Farm is a novel written by English writer George Orwell (1903 1950). The book is about animals rising and taking over a farm after years of being abused by the human owners. However, the book has many parallels The Russian Revolution, such as the Animals need to take over the farm and exile Mr Jones, how Snowball is exiled from animal farm and how Napoleon becomes just like the very thing the animals sought to exile from their farm. The overtaking of Manor Farm represents many events that took place during The Russian Revolution. Firstly, Old Majors speech about how life is miserable and how all animals are equal draws many parallels with Karl Marx s Communist Manifesto, a book about the basics of communism. Karl Marx, just like old Major was considered the Father of Communism, just like how Old Major was Considered the Father of Animalism. Furthermore, Mr Jones, the owner of the farm, is very similar the current ruler at the time, Tsar Nicholas II. Mr Jones, just like Nicholas II, was very unpopular amongst his people. He did not really want to rule and did not care for the people whom he led. Eventually, both leaders were exiled by the people. Overall, through the many similarities between the rulers of pre rebellion Russia and Manor Farm, and the parallels between Karl Marx and Old Major, it is difficult to miss the similarities between Animal Farm and Stalinist Russia. • 14. The Importance of Proper Wine Storage A. The Importance of Proper Wine Storage While most of the commodities are consumed within 24 hours from the time of purchase, wines are often preserved for long term storage and aging. Wine is one of the things that get better with time when stored and aged properly but it can also spoil and deteriorate rapidly if kept in inappropriate condition. Proper storage and aging will enhance the wine s flavor, color and quality in general. In order for us to better understand the concept of preserving and aging of wines, the following critical elements should be taken into consideration. 1.Light Wines, especially white wines should not be subjected to excessive amounts of light. Wines should not be stored under direct sunlight and fluorescent lights with ultraviolet light in the wavelength of 325 to 450 nm. Light may adversely react with the chemical compounds in wine and create potential wine faults or defects which often leads to the wine having a lightstruck aroma (or gouts de lumiere French for tastes of light). A wine with a lightstruck aroma is characterized by a decrease in citrus aroma, while the intensity of unpleasant aroma increased. Wine stored in dark area are mostly to maintain its clarity and citrus aroma thus, most wines are packed in colored glass and stored in dark cellars. 2.Humidity Humidity is also a critical element of wine storage to be considered especially if wine cork closures and stoppers are used. This Love takes him on the path through his life and every time he saw Beatrice he would then have visions of divine nature. After one of his visions, Dante struggled with conflicting thoughts of Love, that disturbed his peace of mind, The domination of Love is a good thing because he guides the mind of his faithful followers away from all unworthiness, [and] The domination of Love is not good because the more faithfully a follower serves him, the more burdensome and grievous are the moments he must endure. (XIII, 5). Dante is articulating Love to be a man and a higher power, i.e God. He struggles with his Love for Beatrice because he is overwhelmed with emotion when she is present; much like someone would feel in the presence of God. This is why he feels conflicted. He also speaks of Beatrice as 3 being angelic and possessing divine qualities; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Essay on The Use of Deceptive Interrogation People face ethical dilemmas every day. But it is perhaps, most prevalent in the law enforcement profession. Law enforcement officers face ethical dilemmas constantly. Some of the ethical issues that police face each day are: racial profiling, officer discretion, police officer loyalty, police officer abuse, and interrogatory deception. This paper will discuss the purpose of interrogatory deception, ways in which it is used, some of the current debates over the practice, and a landmark ruling in the Miranda case of 1966 which attempted to cease the use of intimidation and coercion practices of the police. The first thing that should be thought about prior to any form of interrogation is the suspect s rights; particularly his or her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A different viewpoint might be to get the suspect talking and keep him or her talking. The problem arises when an officer sits down with a suspect in an attempt to gain the truth or a confession; however, the suspect refuses to cooperate. So how can an officer facilitate the process and get a suspect to talk or even better, confess? Years ago this was accomplished by police through the use of force also known as police brutality. That practice has been abandoned due to its inhumane and brutal nature and its infringement of individual rights. Police were forced to seek an alternate means of obtaining information that did not rely on inhumane practices. This turnaround came in the form of trickery and deceit; called interrogatory deception. This type of psychological coercion is taught and practiced daily by today s law enforcement. It is based on the utilitarian standpoint by police that the means justifies the outcome. This type of interrogation is performed in a way which elicits admissions by deceiving suspects who have waived their right to remain silent (Skolnick Leo, 1992). For example, an officer could say that it will be easier on the suspect if he talks. An officer could even say that the suspect s accomplice is giving or has given officers all the information. The ethical issue then arises about coercion and deception. Should this practice be considered ethical? Should an officer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I went for about 2 weeks and had a great time. We ve gone 2 years in a row now and hope to go back next year. My family and I went to go visit my dad s side of the family. The main reason we went was for my cousin Jasmine s Quinceanera (which is the celebration of a teenage girl turning 15 in the Hispanic culture). This year almost my whole family that lives in Indiana and my other relatives from Ohio also went. Last year it was only my family so that s why this year was better. The best thing about the trip was the car ride. Since more family went this time we got to ride with whoever we wanted. I rode in my aunt s car with her, my cousin Kim who is my age, my cousin Alisen who is younger than us, and my twin sister Breanna. We took 4 cars since 4 families went, and we were all following each other it took about 18 hours to get there. We left on a Thursday at around 7 pm and got there Friday at around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. The road trip was fun, because we jammed out to our favorite hits, we stopped to eat and get snack many times, and we just talked and laughed and had a great time and made great memories it was a fun road trip. • 21. Network Performance Quality Of Service Project Report The aim of this project is to investigate and implement a standardised way to monitor and improve quality of service for a user with devices connected to the internet of things. Although there are several papers referring to the need for this, any implementation has been on an ad hoc bases for specific devices/issues and not rolled out as a standard approach. The approach this project is taking is to implement an algorithm which will monitor a network and work to improve its quality or service through different protocols. It will not be specific to just one application and the end goal would be the algorithm working with all types of IoT devices and handle a range of issues. 2.The Problem Network performance Quality of Service (QoS) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is therefore interesting that this area remains to be unstandardized today. The researcher in this paper proposes that the problem is responded to by a QoS architecture based on IoT layered structure. This architecture sets QoS agent in lower layers then transmits QoS requirements, trying to guarantee the consistency as well as effectively use the existing QoS mechanisms in every layer. (Duan, Chen and Xing, 2011) Other research suggests that the integration between IoT and other technologies such as Cloud Computing is in its infantile phase and it has not been extended to all application domains due to its inadequate quality of service architecture. (T, S and A, 2015) . We see here the lack of QoS in the IoT also has an impact on the future and extendibility of the IoT. Within this area of QoS, which continues to be actively researched, there is still a gap in any currently available solution. This project aims to contribute to this gap. 3.The Proposed Solution The proposed solution is to develop a protocol, a set of rules, to monitor application performance and the real time state of the network in the Internet of Things (IoT). The objective of this ruleset is to achieve Quality of Service (QoS) from the network perspective and Quality of Experience (QoE) from the user perspective. Another plague, the Great Plague, began in 1665. Both of these outbreaks killed a substantial amount of the population at the time. The plague exists in two forms: bubonic and pneumonic. A bubonic plagueis spread by flea bites and results in painful sores on the body. A pneumonic form of the plague is airborne and spread by coughing and sneezing. Both the Black Deathand the Great Plague existed in both forms of plague that resulted in widespread death and affected permanent change in English society in different ways. The Black Death An outbreak that occurred in 1348 and lasted until 1350 and popped up a few more times in later years in England is known as the Black Death. This deadly plague occurred in Medieval England, so there was not enough medical knowledge to help combat its spread. The outbreak became an epidemic, killing six out of every 10 people in London, or 1.5 million of the four million people who were living there at the time (Appleby 162). How It Spread Asia is the likely origin of the Black Death, which was long believed to have only been the result of the bites from fleas that had also bitten infected rats (Appleby 163). • 28. Negligence Of Negligence Falls Under Tort Law .0 Introduction Negligence is the failure to exercise due care or diligence that a reasonable or prudent man would exercise in similar circumstances. The law of negligence falls under tort law where it involves harm that is caused by carelessness and not intentional harm (Katter, 2002). A tort is a civil wrong that is in the form of a breach of duty, which amounts to legal remedy that is awarded in damages. Tort lawrests upon two principles that state that an act or omission by the defendant interferes with the rights of the plaintiff, which in turn causes damages (Trindade, 2007). Secondly, the interference caused by the defendant gives rise to a cause of action for damages that are as near as possible to the plaintiff s loss. Therefore, negligencecan be defined as doing something that a reasonable man would not have done in similar circumstances or failure to do what a reasonable man would have done which amounts to infliction of harm. 2.0 Background The main idea of the law of negligence is to ensure that people exercise reasonable care when they act by measuring the potential harm that may foreseeably cause harm to other people. Negligence is the principal trigger for liability to ascend in matters that deal with the loss of property of personal injury. Therefore, a person cannot be liable for something unless they have been found negligent or have contributed to the loss of property or injury to the plaintiff (Stuhmcke, 2005). There is more to ... The use of alliteration, watch the white eyes writhing in his face, (line 19) creates an image of the face of a young man disfiguring. The diction in line 20, like a devil sick of sin, accentuates that humans are much crueller than the devil himself. Owen uses these literary devices to show us the horror the poet witnessed. It creates an image of war being a slaughter house for young men and that their death doesn t conjure much sorrow. It shows that the families of the fallen soldiers crying for their loved ones have died. Owen then symbolises death as a drawing down of blinds at dusk (line 16). This concept literally refers to the virtue of respecting one s parents, elders, and one s ancestors. The earliest records defining filial pietys significance in Confucian ideology can be traced to a text from the third fourth century B.C.E., The Canon of Filial Piety. Section 61(a) also includes hobby income in taxable gross income. The $20,000 that you made from selling the jewelry you hand crafted is considered income from a trade because your motive is to make a profit. IRS Publication 535 also outlines that making jewelry is a business because of the time and effort put into it and that you expect to continue to make a profit from it. If you want to keep the jewelry as just a hobby you can only deduct expenses to the extent of your income under Section 183.viii You could not make jewelry with the intent to make a profit. There, a good fifteen feet from the ground, with his hind legs planted firmly in the center of a big limb, and his front feet against the trunk of the tree, stood Old Dan, bawling for all he was worth (Rawls 109). Old Dan is so obsessed with catching the coons that he would jump out of the tree to catch it even if he died. Little Ann is nervous at this point so she decided to call to Billy for help, and even after Billy got older and down from the tree he started to climb back up. Little Ann saw Old Dan get sucked into a muskrat done so she was smart enough to call for Billy and Billy didn t know what was going on she started to dig where she saw Old Dan go under. She was digging in a small hole about the size of a big apple. It was the air hole for a muskrat den. I pulled Little Ann away from the hole, knelt down, and put my ear to it. I could hear something, and feel a vibration in the ground. It was an eerie sound and seemed to be coming from far away. I listened. Finally I understood what the noise was. It was the voice of Old Dan (Rawls 107). After she dug the beginning of the hole Billy started to hear the bawl of Old Dan underground and Billy was able to pull Old Dan out. Her cunning ability to almost be able to communicate with Billy allowed her to show Billy that Old Dan was stuck underground. • 39. The Purpose Of The Keirsey Temperament Sorter Test Purpose The Keirsey Temperament Sorter Test and others like it, such as the Myers Briggs Test, are meant to measure types and aspects of one s personality based on a series of opinionated questions. These sorts of tests are meant to show individuals what their personality types are, as well as the careers that would fit their personality types the best. Developed by Dr. David Keirsey, the test sorts participant into four major groups based on their personality results: artisans, guardians, rationals, and idealists. These groups are then narrowed down into narrower categories based on the Myers Briggs system results for separate personality types. These results are meant to reveal a person s true character and temperament. The Keirsey Test is greatly based on human behavior, so it is essentially measuring the daily behaviors of participants and sorting them into different personality types, or temperaments. The test also helps to evaluate a person s character through the opinionated questions within the test. The opinionated approach of the test makes it a decent measure of a person s character, but only if the participant is fully open and honest about his true self within the test, rather than being the person that they wish to be when answering the questions. Many have reported findings that these personality tests have low validity in their results (Dakin et al., 1994). Because so much accountability on the participants end is required for this test, the integrity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sending this letter to Sebabastino de Luca, the chair at Pisa, the letter was published in the Pisa journal as, Sunto , in which would be republished and translated into other languages. Ideas based on Avogadro s law, Cannizzaro clarified the distinctions of molecules and atoms giving a solid foundation for the formulation of the periodic law. Presenting the information in such a clear way during a time where Avogadro s theory seemed unnecessary Cannizzaro made it easy for scientists to grasp it and Avogadro s law became the standard. At the 1860 Karlsruhe Congress, scientist became more aware of the Sunto and the convention was held in order to develop a more precise definition of the atom and molecule. Explaining once again, the terms of atom , physical molecule, and chemical molecule the third day of the congress his presentation failed and it was decided that scientist could choose to use either Berzelius s or Avogadro s system. Since the open market economy was first introduced to Russia in 1991, ice cream producer competition has more than tripled in sized to 300 firms by 2002. Though there have been numerous competitors who have entered the market, since 1997 not only has production continued to rise, but ice cream consumption by volume and per capita has increased as well over this time period. This is particularly interesting when considering that the population of Russia has consistently fallen since 1990, which displays that either the market itself is expanding to new clientele and/or ice cream customers are consuming a consistently elevating amount. With the possibility of expanding competition through marketing warfare, the market of customers will continue to grow with more potential to brand as well as steal/develop more market share. As market and differentiation advantage is more readily established, there will naturally be the elimination of smaller competitors who cannot compete in marketing funds nor have established themselves in serving a customer niche. The introduction of new distribution through supermarkets will also assist in market expansion by making the ice cream more convenient for year round availability as well as less impulsive demand buyers. The supermarket as well as brand innovations are seemingly switching customers in a direction away from just kiosk buying but that of home consumption, which will create a new level of consumer loyalty and buyer maturity as well as increased gross profits potentially. It is clear that the author of this source has reason to believe that history should not affect the way our world is run today. The perspective presented in the source illustrates that historical globalization is a very complex issue. Concrete Bridge Research Paper How To Repair Your Concrete Walkway So It s Safe And Attractive The walkway to your front door should be kept in good condition so it doesn t ruin the appearance of your home. Repairing cracks is important so no one trips and falls on your property. Falling on concrete could break a bone or cause a head injury. You could even get sued for not maintaining your walkway properly and creating a hazard. Here are a few tips for repairing cracks in your concrete walkway and improving its appearance. Fill In The Cracks You can probably fill in small cracks yourself. Start by cleaning your walkway to get rid of sand and dirt. Focus on getting debris and weeds out of all the cracks. You can buy concrete crack filler in a squeeze container that s easy to use. Just squeeze the filler into the crack and scrape off the excess, so the surface is level. Filling big cracks takes a little more work. To get the filler to adhere properly, you ll need to widen the bottom of the crack. With the bottom wider than the top, the filler will be trapped in place. Use a pick and hammer to knock pieces of concrete loose from the bottom of the crack, being careful not to make the top of the crack any wider. You may want to buy a bag... • 46. The Constitutional Principle Of The Rule Of Law INTRODUCTION Undoubtedly, the constitutional principle of the rule of law is one of the most essential values in the English legal system. It has aptly been characterized as a wrapper that is placed around a bundle of more specific principles . Interestingly, prominent personalities like inter alia, Lord Bingham, Jeffrey Jowell and Dicey, have identified that legality, certainty, accountability, efficiency, due process and access to justice are only a number of those specific principles which all together constitute the rule of law. Some of these values reflect the formal conception of the rule of law while others, the substantive. Furthermore, it would be an omission not to say that, within the absence of a written constitution, the rule of law places a significant role within the English legal system. The following essay will assess how the courts use the weapons of justice, to restrain and scrutinize the abuse of the executive power in the UK. The role of the judicial review process and the principles of: bare principle of legality and principle of legal certainty will be examined by reference to academic opinion and case law. The conclusion will be that, although the dogma of the rule of law managed to hold the executive up to a satisfying level, the principle of parliamentary sovereignty does have the final say.
