The artist I chose to write my descriptive criticism about is Michelangelo Buonarroti. I chose him
because his style as an artist intrigues me and I wanted to get myself involved with more of his work.
Michelangelo was born in Caprese, Italy in 1475 and died in Rome, Italy 1564 but buried in Florence .
He is a well known sculptor painter, architect, and poet whom never married. The artist had many

that I will focus on is called Pieta (1499) in St.Peter s Basilica. This is a sculpture of what seems to be
the virgin Mary and Jesus after he was crucified. This sculpture is a piece that was unique to me. As I
looked at this piece it seemed in away almost life like but the way he sculpted Mary was bueatifully
done. You can see the expression on her face and even the look of her garments that she wore were
very detailed. I noticed the way this painting has a triangular approach. If u look from the top of her
head where her veil starts to flow all the way to the floor or the feet of her son Jesus that is in the
shape of the triangle. The picture shows so much emotion. It shows Jesus lifeless in his mothers arms.

Plot is defined as, the authors arrangement of incidents in a story it is the organizing principle that
controls the controls the order of events (Meyer,64). The element of plot is heavily relied on in the
short story, The Killings by Andre Dubus. The plot which is completely made inside the imagination
of an author (Meyer,64), gives the audience important insight to people, places, and events in the story

graduate school in economics, and working as a lifeguard at Salisbury Beach, where he met Mary Ann
Strout, in her first month of separation. (Dubus,86). This small piece of information allows the
audience to understand the possible relationship between Frank and his killer. The name of the killer,
stated earlier in the story as, Richard Strout assumably has a relationship with Mary Ann Strout, the
girl Frank meets on the beach. The passage also clarifies that Strout had previously beaten Frank
before finally killing him. When the paragraph ends stating where he met Mary Ann Strout in her first
month of separation (Dubus,86), we are sure that Strout and Mary Ann were indeed married at one
point and that Frank was somehow intruding on their marriage. A conversation between the Fowlers
also confirms the relationship between Frank and Mary Ann. By understanding the relationships,
subtlety stated in the paragraph, the reader forms a solid explanation for why Strout killed Frank
Fowler. By flashing back into past knowledge and information the reader is able to fully understand
the story. The plot is enhanced by the rising action of the story. During this time, Richard Strout has

Throughout the Edgewater and Rogers Park community, my focus was on the physical health and well
being of the members of the community. The assets identified were doctor s offices, small clinics and
clinics that are a part of a larger chain. Each of these assets show the diversity in the medical care
offered in the Edgewater and Rogers Park community. For example, the assets that we found were
mostly privately owned and the clinics that are part of a larger chain such as the clinics in Walgreens
or CVS, were small and run by only a few people. There weren t any assets that were part of a large
medical institution such as Advocate or Nova health. There was only one hospital which is Methodist
Hospital which is one of the largest assets we found. This illustrates how in the Edgewater and Rogers
Park community, smaller and more convenient methods of receiving healthcare is emphasized more
than larger scale hospitals. The asset that I researched and interviewed was Physicians Immediate Care
on 6140 North Broadway in Edgewater Chicago. This is a small clinic which is actually part of a
larger chain of clinics that are located in Nebraska, Indiana, and Illinois. This particular clinic was run
by the Physician Assistant. I learned through the interview that the Physician Assistant can perform
many of the tasks that a Doctor could, however, they must practice under a Doctor s license. The
