Jekyll And Hyde Differences
There are many differences between the characters in the book Jekyll and Hyde and the movie The
League of Extraordinary Gentleman which portrays Jekyll and Hyde as the movies main characters.
When I watched the movie, I noticed three main differences those are: in the movie they are trying to
use Hyde while in the book they are trying to find and arrest him for murder, Jekyll doesn t hide Hyde
in the movie, and Jekyll doesn t try to control Hyde as much as he does in the book then in the movie.
The first difference that I will focus on is that in the movie they are trying to use Hyde for good and in
the book, they are trying to arrest Hyde for murder. In the book Hyde murders a man by the name of
Sir Danvers Carew. A maid witnesses this

U.s. Bilateral Trade Agreements
As discussed before, the recent decades has seen proliferation of Preferential Trade Agreements
(PTAs), of which bilateral and regional trade agreements are a part. Of the 162 member countries,
Mongolia was the only WTO member without PFA by 2005 (WTO, 2016). There are several
motivations behind bilateral trade negotiations, originating from the state of the economic and
political situation of participating nations (McMahon, 2006). In the absence of broader trade
agreements, bilateral trade agreements accomplish the objectives of market expansion and trade
liberalisation of nations. Such agreements also affect the domestic front positively by decreasing cost
of imported goods, resulting in lower prices of consumer goods and spurring ... Show more content on

The recently signed Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) (signed on 4th February, 2016) by US and 12
Pacific Rim nations has be seen as one such agreement (Feldman, 2015). The intent of TTP, according
to Feldman (2015), is to pursue the strategy of competitive liberalisation, it was first pursued by the
US President Bush in 2003, in which bilateral, regional and global trade negotiations would
complement and reinstate each another (Sbragia, 2010). The US strategy aimed to create a competition
for liberalisation among its trading partners so that trade reforms in one market led to similar reforms
and tariff reduction in other markets (Chan, 2005). The period witnessed many trading partners re
negotiate their trade pacts with the US, thereby fulfilling the US objective to increase its sphere of
influence and hegemony (Sbargia, 2010). Through TTP, the US now seeks to increase its sphere of
influence in the Pacific Rim along with gaining economic benefits. Since the participating nations
account for 40% of the world s GDP, any rules set by these will have global repercussions (Cao,
2015). The estimates of economic gains from the treaty, however, currently account for only 0.5% of
US GDP (Rines, 2015). This strengthens the argument that the TTP is less about economic benefits
and more about putting down a legal

Warhammer terrain have something you like to do, even if we re mega nerds. Warhammer is about
having a hobby, something you enjoy doing and can spend your excess time and income on. These
people enjoy being mega nerds, so that is what they do. This group is a perfect outlet for them to do
so. The origins of the group can be traced back several years. Red is the founder and unofficial leader.
One of the oldest members, he is a longtime Warhammer player with over 10 years of experience.
Many members turn to Red for minor rules questions that arise during games. Aside from
Warhammer, the group will do things like eat at the Buffalo Wild Wings across the street after
meetings. Several of the older members are married, with Red ... Show more content on

This happened not only in this game, but in all the others I observed as well. No matter which side
was winning, players would give each other small bits of advice to prevent them from missing out on
a good move or making a stupid mistake, and even to make sure they hit the most units possible with
their explosive weapons. I initially thought this was due only to the friendly nature of the group. Later,
though, I realized that, while this was the main factor, something else may have been at work as well.
The members want to point things out to show that they know what they are doing. It makes them feel
influential, regardless of whether they are winning or losing. After a particularly devastating turn for
Lance s army, Bruno finally had accumulated enough objectives to win the match. Good game, sir,
said Lance, and cordially shook Bruno s hand. This gentlemanly sportsmanship gave me an idea of the
group s calm, welcoming attitude. Lance wasn t playing with the sole goal of victory. For him,
Warhammer was more of a hobby than a duel. When asked about his favorite part of Warhammer, he
replied, Painting the models. For me it s the hobby aspect. He still enjoyed putting his gloriously
painted models to work in battle, but it wasn t why he played Warhammer. Despite this, he still had a
place at the Warhammer group, even though the group only battles. Furthermore, his politeness and
friendliness made Bruno welcome as well.

Comparing The Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of...
Max Weber s study was influential in the emergence of the spirit of modern capitalism and is
applicable to leaders past and present. It is true Weber argues that Puritan ethics and ideas influenced
the development of capitalism. The United States is seen as having a democratic capitalist political
economic system due to its economic incentives through free markets, fiscal responsibility, and its
liberal moral cultural system that encourages pluralism. In regard to the analysis of power in society,
Weber again introduces a pluralistic notion (introduction to sociology, 2010).
Applicable Theory of Max Weber on Political Leaders
Weber s various religious ideas and economics encompasses The Protestant Ethic. Max believed
Puritan ethics and ideas provided a strong influence on the birth of capitalism.

Weber presented the idea of investing the money in an effort to promote the growth of capitalism. As a
result; the Protestant ethic guided its followers to work, develop business, engage in commerce and
ultimately accumulate wealth for investment. The Protestant ethic was therefore the driving force
behind the mass action that led to the development of capitalism (the protestant ethic and the spirit of
capitalism, 2016).
In his book, The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, Weber explains how a strong Protestant
work ethic and belief in living frugally helped foster the development of the capitalist economic
system in the Western world. Although Protestantism dissolved socially, the system of capitalism was
engraved to stay. This bureaucratic social structure, and the values, beliefs, and world views that
supported and sustained it, became central to shaping social life. It was this very phenomenon that
Weber conceived of as an iron cage (iron cage,

Transportation Has A Part Of Human History
Transportation has been a part of human history since the beginning be it walking on foot on a trail
through the forests, ships across the oceans, roads created by the horse or horse and carriage, to the
rail roads that transected the United States to modern roadways. Many advancements on roadways
throughout the years were made as each new form of transportation was improved. Then one day man
could fly and hence another form of transportation made it possible for man to go from place to place
in a fraction of the time compared to car or rail road. Along with these improved modes of
transportation came new and inherent risks like head on collisions in vehicles, planes falling from the
sky, and tunnel collapses in subways. With risk and threat comes the need for security and safety
practices. Cars were made safer and roadways were improved to include guard rails, painted lines,
traffic lights and stop signs. As the population grew so did the need to expand the ability to move
about. Interstates were built, airports were built and subways were now a means of travel in the urban
setting. As technology and the transportations system grew so did the threat and risk of damage from
either natural or manmade disasters. We take for granted every day the roads we travel believing or
thinking that nothing can or will happen to them where we live. So how what would happen if the
transportation system suffered a major attack or damage? Roadways deliver goods by way of tractor
trailers

Essay on The Argument from Design, by William Paley
During the 1800th century, William Paley, an English philosopher of religion and ethics, wrote the
essay The Argument from Design. In The Argument from Design, Paley tries to prove the existence of
a supreme being through the development of a special kind of argument known as the teleological
argument. The teleological argument is argument by analogy, an argument based on the similarities
between two different subjects. This essay purposefully attempts to break down Paley s argument and
does so in the following manner: firstly, Paley s basis for the teleological argument is introduced;
secondly, Paley s argument is derived and analyzed; thirdly, the connection between Paley s argument
and the existence of a supreme being is made; and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having introduced Paley s main a posteriori experience, the following paragraphs will describe and
justify Paley s reasoning for using such argument to describe the existence of a superior being. Firstly,
Paley concentrates in the process leading to the creation of the watch. The process for creating a watch
is very systematic and involves knowledge of mechanical engineering, a trade known to few men. Yet,
it is not necessary to know the inner workings of the watch to use it on a daily basis: it is only
necessary to understand the relationship between the position of the watch s hands to the sunrise and
sunset of day. Paley concludes that even though he could not create a watch, some supreme being
could create such watch. In other words, anything that shows evidence of creation has a creator and
such creator exists or has existed at one point in time. To further refine the previous conclusion, Paley
acknowledges the imprecision of the watch, for the watch is not always correct in predicting time. The
watch might get ahead or behind, but the overall purpose for which the watch was created remains
intact: it might predict the wrong time, note however, that it still predicts time. The conclusion in the
previous paragraph is not contradicted by any of the watch s faults simply because the being s purpose
for creating the watch still exists. Therefore, Paley s supreme being not only creates but also does so
with a specific purpose.

Customer Orientation Of Airport Service Quality
Introduction
The aviation industry is one that is consistently changing and the demand in air travel is on the rise.
With the rise in air travel, airports need to be able to handle the traffic. But the problem is that service
quality in an airport declines when the airport has reached its design peak hour or even exceeded it.
This simply means the airport cannot handle the amount of passengers it has thus customer
satisfaction decreases.
Today s air travelers have meaningful choices among airports and there is an increasing urgency
among airport marketers to differentiate themselves by meeting the needs of customers better than the
competition. While passengers perception of airport service quality is only one of several variables
(e.g. routes, scheduling, location and prices) that contribute to overall airport attractiveness, it is
nevertheless an important variable because of the increasing importance of a customer orientation to
competitive advantage in this industry.(Fodness Murray, 2007)
Solving it would result in a more efficient airport which can reduce the amount of delays at an airport
whether is from aircraft landing or taking off or passenger traffic within the terminal thus giving the
airport an advantage over the competition by becoming a preferred airport.
Literature Review
Airports are a place where passengers encounter a bundle of tangible and intangible services in what
Bitner (1992) has characterized as an elaborate services cape . The

Blood Transfusion
Blood transfusion is the process of transferring blood from one person, which is the donor, to another
person, which is the recipient. The earliest research of blood transfusion started in the 17th century, a
British physician named William Harvey discovered the circulation and properties of blood, which
then inspired others to operate blood transfusions. This led to the first successful blood transfusion in
1665, which was performed by Richard Lower in England. He managed to save a severely injured dog
by transfusing blood from another dog through a tied artery. The introduction of blood transfusion
made a huge impact on humans, because it plays an important role in saving millions of lives each

Freud s Psychoanalytic Theory Of Identity
According to Freud the id is unconscious by definition:
It is the dark, inaccessible part of our personality, what little we know of it we have learned from our
study of the dream and of course the construction of neurotic symptoms, and most of that is of a
negative character and can be described only as a contrast to the ego. We approach the id with
analogies: we call it a chaos, a cauldron full of seething excitations. ...It is filled with energy reaching
it from the instincts, but it has no organization, produces no collective will, but only a striving to bring
about the satisfaction of the instinctual needs subject to the observance of the pleasure principle.(1) In

The Industrial Development Of India
It is stated by the several scholars that British Government never interested to the industrial
development of India. During the British period, the growth of industrial output was hindered due to
the utmost poverty of the rural population of India. The large proportion of the middle class
population had a taste and choice of imported goods instead to indigenous products. The tariff
protection provided by the British government was not enough to protect the industries because the
government was neither interested in the establishment of industrial plants nor in the development of
banks. Even during the period local industries had not given any preferences at the time of allotting
contracts.

India had been noticed a continuous change in the entrepreneurial history of the India. Due to the
freedom, entrepreneurs gained substantial confidence and self belief and pursued towards the
fulfillment of their entrepreneurial desires with a new energy. The people expectations from the
government were at altitude for the betterment of their life, including the entrepreneurs who were

The Performance Of Portfolio Theory
Introduction
This report is established to illustrate the performance of portfolio by using modern portfolio theory to
make one portfolio allocation decisions per year (round) over nine years (rounds) in an investment
game and find out a reasonable strategy to meet a particular investment objective. Specifically, it tries
to figure out following questions:
1. How the investment decisions can be made?
2. The research that is undertook
3. The critical factors that influenced the decision
4. How are the results different from our expectations?
The first question is more important since it plays a vital role in the investment process.

on a yearly basis. More specifically, there are still exist a phenomenon that it is inevitable that the

In the third conclusion, Gruber argues that the characteristics of the investor determines the

demonstrates that investment performance is supposed to be judged over a long period of time like
more than one year so that the result to be received is going to be more accuracy and convinced. In
other words, the long term performance data will give a brand new viewpoint in the case of

Theories Of Incest Relationships
Aside from disturbed family relationships and lack of spousal sexual activity as common preceding
factors, there are innate psychological reasons why people engage themselves in incest relationships.
Westermarck in 1891, suggested that men do not mate with their mothers and sisters not because of
social rules, but because they are simply not turned on by those they were reared with. Westermarck s
idea was simple. Men and women cannot recognize their relatives as relatives, so they have no way of
preventing inbreeding as such. They can use a simple psychological rule that works ninety nine times
out of a hundred to avert an incestuous relationship. They can avoid mating with those whom they
know well during childhood. Sexual aversion to one s closest relatives is thus achieved. ... Show more

Helping The Homeless Population With Survival Kits
Responsible leaders take seriously the need of the people they provide assistance to. During
supervision, while working with the homeless in seeking housing resources, there has been other
needs that the people requested during their visits to the office such as showering or washing their
clothes. In doing so, they also needed basic toiletries and clothing especially during the winter months,
they need warm clothing. However, working in an organization with limited funds and with it s
current status of state funding budget cuts, creates a larger barrier in the need to provide necessary

that the organization has a need to request donations for the purpose of providing assistance to the

Basketball Is An Evolving Game
Basketball is an evolving game, so the rules of the game must evolve with it. It is important that The
National Basketball Association adapt to the changing game styles, because it is your duty as the head
of an organization, to give the best product possible. As the number of games plagued with intentional
fouls increases, the number of fans will decrease. It is your job as the jurisdiction of the NBA, to make
sure that the game does not regress, and that the fans are getting what they want. The solution to the
problem of intentional fouling in the NBA is to give coaches the option of inbounding the ball instead
of taking free throws. Intentional fouling is when a player fouls another player with the intent of
putting them on the free throw line. This is called, The Hack a Shaq technique, because Hall of Fame
player, Shaquille O Neal, was often targeted with intentional fouls. Players are targeted with the Hack
a Shaq technique when they do not shoot free throws efficiently. When a player shoots a low enough
percentage from the free throw line, statistically they will not score as many points as if they were to
shoot from the field. As you can see in the Appendix, seven of the top ten games with the most foul
shots by a single player have been in the last ten years. Hack a Shaq is hurting the game of basketball
because teams are using the strategy more and more. Hack a Shaq creates slow and unentertaining
games, due to the increased number of free throws. Fans of the NBA

Looking for Alaska The main theme in John Green s novel Looking for Alaska is that there is more to
life than can be experienced through any one person or experience, and that we will never truly
understand everything that happens to us or the ones we love. We just have to accept these things,
whether they be good or bad, and hope for the best. The novel is written in first person perspective,
through the eyes of the main character. His name is Miles Halter, and he is a seventeen year old boy
living in Florida. He doesn t have any real friends, only the people he sits with while eating lunch at

He really becomes much more of a three dimensional character. His entire outlook on life totally

or if it was just a freak accident. The Colonel and him spend a good amount of time doing some
serious detective work, attempting to understand what exactly went through her mind right before she
died. Eventually though, The Colonel gets bored playing detective, and he soon stops trying to help.
Pudge, however, keeps on with the investigation, perhaps bordering on the brink of insanity with his
need to fully understand Alaska. He feels as though it s his fault that he didn t understand what was
happening sooner, and that if he figures out what pushed her to this point it will make up for his
ignorance. To really prove the kind of person that Pudge became after Alaska s death, I am going to
include the last portion of the novel. It is an essay written by Pudge for his religious studies course.
The student could pick any question that they wanted, and they attempted to dissect it and come up

really comes together emotionally.

Instead, Doctor Mandelet suggests that Léonce let Edna s defiance run its course, since attempts to
control her would only fuel her rebellion. Léonce heeds the doctor s advice, allowing Edna to remain
home alone while he is away on business. With her husband gone and her children away as well, Edna
wholly rejects her former lifestyle. She moves into a home of her own and declares herself
independent the possession of no one. Her love for Robert still intense, Edna pursues an affair with the
town seducer, Alcée Arobin, who is able to satisfy her sexual needs. Never emotionally attached to

Observing Assassination
Observing the Assassination
As the hit man was given his latest assignment, he couldn t help but feel sorry for the company he was
about to shake. His target was the founder/CEO of Omnitech Inc. The company would probably start
to crumble if his mission were to succeed.
Why do you want him dead? the hit man asked his employer.
Well, he has some info that we can t let the public find out about us. If they do, this whole company is
done for. The employer explained.
Understood.
After a while, the hit man was ready to eliminate his target. He figured that the best way to keep him
still would be to call him in his office and kill them there. So he bought a cheap track phone and called
the target.
Hello? is someone there? the CEO asked. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How could this happen? He wondered. He tried to think of why someone wanted the CEO dead, but
he couldn t focus on driving at the same time. Well, it can t be that bad, after all, they probably missed

wrong. he pointed out in his mind. Well, it doesn t matter, time to get him back to the hospital.
When they were at the hospital, the doctor requested help from multiple surgeons to remove the bullet.
Well, at least the bullet missed the brain stem, but back of his head is in shambles. the doctor noted,
taking care to not move the patient too much. One of the surgeons started to take an x ray, while the
others tried to remove the bullet.
During his break, he couldn t help but think about what happened. He was trying to think of why the
CEO was targeted. The first thing that came to mind was sabotage. It did make the most sense, after
all. Well, maybe the CEO knew something that dangered the shooter or who hired the shooter. He
shrugged, trying to ignore the reason behind it and tried to drift off. After all, he was on

Elizabethan Women s Rights Movement
In every era, all over the world, there have been groups who suffered at the hands of another. The
greatest thing about looking back through history is learning that despite all odds stacked against
them, these groups fought to change their status in life. One such group of people are women, women
all over the world who fought and continue to fight today for their rights. Women s Right Movements
began in the middle of the 19th century as women became more educated and realized that they
needed political power to improve the world around them. After years of effort by suffrage
campaigners led by Kate Sheppard, New Zealand became the first country in the world to grant
women the right to vote in national elections in 1893. In 1903, Marie Curie ... Show more content on

The violence against women can be traced back to the deep rooted inequality between the sexes and
male dominance over the course of history which has resulted in the belief and behavior of men that
they have the right to control women. Such beliefs can explain why one in three women has been
abused or subjected by men while between 40 and 70 percent of female murder victims were killed by
their intimate partners. Violence against women is just one of the many ways that oppression towards
women has survived throughout history and manifested itself in different

`` Radical Hope `` By Jonathan Lear Essay
Individuals of a certain society are raised with a particular set of ideals and values that are ingrained in
their perception of everyday life. One may wonder how such individuals can continue life if they must
abandon all of their fundamental principles of living. Jonathan Lear describes in his book, Radical
Hope, how Plenty Coups, the last chief of the Crow nation, was able to help his tribe discontinue their
particular way of life in order to survive in the future. Lear states how Plenty Coups does this:
Precisely because Plenty Coups sees that a traditional way of life is coming to an end, he is in a
position to embrace a peculiar form of hopefulness. It is basically the hope for revival: for coming
back to life in a form that is not yet intelligible (Lear 2006: 95). Through this statement, Lear implies
many things. As a young boy, Plenty Coups experiences a dream in which he is told that the Crow
culture is coming to an end and is given advice on how he must proceed with his life through certain
virtues, such as listening and recognizing wisdom of others. His dream is interpreted by the Crow
elders as an inevitable halt to their way of living. As Plenty Coups is able to anticipate the complete
demolition of the Crow culture and its values, he recognizes he must adapt his perception of everyday
life to whatever the necessary circumstances demand. Although he may be only following the
instructions of what he had been told in his dream, Plenty Coups commits himself to an

History of the French New Wave
In 1959 early 1960 five directors released debut feature length films that are widely regarded as
heralding the start of the French nouvelle vague or French New Wave. Claude Chabrols Le Beau
Serge (The Good Serge, 1959) and Les Cousins (The Cousins, 1959) were released, along with
Francois Truffauts Les Quatre cents coups (The 400 Blows, 1959), Jean Luc Godards A bout de
souffle (Breathless, 1960) and Alain Resnais Hiroshima mon amour (Hiroshima my love, 1959). These
films were the beginning of a revolution in French cinema. In the following years these directors were
to follow up their debuts, while other young directors made their first features, in fact between 1959
63 over 170 French directors made their debut films. These films ... Show more content on

They were predominately studio bound with lavish sets, elaborate lighting, special effects and
extravagant costume. This Cinema became known as the tradition of quality and dominated French
Cinema output. It was a prestige cinema preocupied with impresssive content and continuity. During
this time the French Cinema was quite healthy and shared the market about 50/50 with American
cinema. Despite the relative stability of the French Film industry in the early and mid 50s there was a
growing voice emanating from the emerging youth culture, for some new and fresh ideas. The pre war
cine club movement was revived and by 1954 there were over 200 clubs with 100,000 members.
These clubs would show Hollywood classics as well as the latest releases. They would also show
many of the re released French films of the 30s from such directors as Jean Renoir and Jean Vigo and
many of the Hollywood films that were never released during the occupation. It was from such clubs
that the inspiration and driving force of many of the new wave directors came from. A young Francois
Truffaut, along with Jean Luc Godard and Jacques Rivette, some of the prominent future new wave
directors and future writers for the Cahiers du Cinema, used to frequent Cinematheque Francais. This
was a cine club founded by Henri Langlois and devoted to screening the Classics. It was here

The Influence Of Political Cartoons
Political cartoons represent ideas, concerns, and agendas in a simple platform. They are a quick, often
humorous, way to display topics and personalities in a way that the average person would be able to
understand. The political cartoons of 1860 focused around the main issues of their time: slavery,
westward expansion, and the upcoming political election. The 1860 presidential election had four
major candidates: Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, John Breckinridge, and John Bell. Naturally,
they were the stars of the political cartoons. These cartoons displayed the candidates as well as their
viewpoints on issues concerning voters during the election. The political cartoons are highly effective
in depicting the candidates themselves. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They often help form associations between the matters at hand and the candidates in favor and support
of them. They are capable of shedding either good or bad light on a candidate with only a glance from
the audience. In some cases, an audience can make the subject appeal more appealing to an audience.
A very good example is Lincoln in, The Last Rail Split by, Honest Old Abe. The artist plays on
Lincoln s past of poverty and hard work to play to the average voters. He s wearing his work clothes,
rather than a suit, as he splits the Democratic party in half. The image is familiar to the average, poorer
voter, and may have swayed people in his favor. Another way of influencing the audience is to form
solid associations with the candidates. Using Lincoln as an example again, he is often depicted in the
cartoons as being black friendly. In 1860, slavery was hot, heavily debated topic, and this association
would affect individuals differently. The Political Quadrille: Music by Dred Scott, is another cartoon
where associations are established. The candidates are paired up with their respected partners, in
Stephen Douglas case, it is an Irish immigrant. The Irish immigrants were looked down upon, and this
association of his sympathy would have been frowned upon by

The Two Principles Of A Basis Of Our Brain Capacity,...
Tiraj Lucas
Professor Onishi
Philosophy 229
March 5th, 2017
INTRODUCTION
The problem at hand is that majority humans believe we are superior to non human animals on the
basis of our brain capacity, ability, and preferences of life. The two principles of consequentialism I
plan to work with is the two that consequentialism are based on: 1. Whether an act is right or wrong
depends only on the results of that act. 2. The better consequences an act produces, the better or more
right that act. These two principles play a part in non human animal inequality because it emphasizes
that a person should choose the action that maximizes the good of consequences for all living beings.
If we apply the first principle we could conclude that non human ... Show more content on

Another argument is that it is believed to natural and ancestral for humans to eat non human animals.
Neverless, in cavemen days their life span was much shorter, they did not kill nearly as many animals
that are killed today in factory farming, they ate for survival, and their diets consisted of fruits and
vegetables; not McDonalds and steroid induced animals. Humans are the only species in the animal
kingdom who have to cook and season their meat before eating it. We do not salivate naturally at the
sight of raw meat like real carnivores do. We would get food poisoning, salmonella, e.coli, mad cow
disease, norovirus, trichinosis, etc, when we ever did eat raw or unhealthy meat. Yet somehow there
are people who think our human species hasn t evolved passed the need to eat meat to survive phase,
and continue to use ancestral history as an illogical reason to continue to contribute to suffering and
environmental atrocities. Non human animal equality is not only an ignored environmental issue but
an ignored social issue, resulting in another form of racism or sexism by the name of speciesism.
Speciesm is the idea that being human is a good enough reason for human animals to have greater
moral rights than non human animals. A prejudice or bias in favor of the interests

A constructor defined as The constructor is a special method of the class, which is called automatically

Figure 15 show the first tab populated by two channels. Figure 16 shows a separate tab populated by
one separate channel.
The second option was chosen for several reasons. Having only one chart control makes the program a
good deal easier to follow for someone editing. It is also found to take less processing power to redraw
the same chart as opposed to having many run at the same time.
The channels are saved in each tab item but these channels are needed in the SamRunJobCtrl . The
channels are processed in that control and are used only there to create the data in the chart. In
SamRunJobCtrl the channels are written as _listVisChannels. These _listVisChannels need to be
updated every time. This is necessary to have two separate lists getting passed back and forth because
the _listVisChannels are updated when one of the pre defined buttons Add , Remove or Remove All
are called. Essentially when the user add or removed a channel, the SamRunJobCtrl informs the
TabChartCtrl of the change so that it can save the new channel. When the tab is changed, the
TabChartCtrl searched what channels are associated with the selected tab and passes it to the
SamRunJobCtrl so that it can write the _listVisChannels to the chart. This process is demonstrated by
figure 17. Figure 17 Channel Flow Chart

The Un And The Eu Using Rationalist Approach Essay
Summary:
Realists argue IOs are only forums in which states pursue their interests. I believe that this is wrong to
begin with, as IOs are more than forums to realise states self interest. They are also largely important
for other means, essentially, in maintaining world peace and order. This paper will mainly explore on
two most controversial IOs that are the UN and the EU using Rationalist approach. To support the
argument, this research will use two relatable in depth cases that are the 2011 Military Intervention in
Libya and the European Union (EU) on the Syrian refugee crisis to demonstrate if IOs are only forums
for states to pursue their interest or not. The research is important to inform the readers that IOs are
not simply a medium for states personal gain, but also to cover the betterment of the world.
Thesis Statement:
I believe that IOs are not only forums for states to pursue their interests as argued by the realists, but
also significantly important in maintaining world peace and order as to prevent further imbalance of
power among them, and this will be proven using Rationalist approach on the 2011 Military
Intervention on Libya and the EU on the Syrian Refugee crisis.
Research Question/s:
Q1: Given that states only use IOs as forums to pursue their interests as conceptualised by Realists,
why do states often found look up to IOs to work for the betterment of the world as well? Does it have
anything to do with personal agenda/s and what does Rationalist

Analysis Of The Novel Loving Pedro Infante
In defining one s identity, many different factors are considered; such as one s nationality,
characteristic, personality, ability, experience, religion, and etc. Especially for those people who live in
America, so called country of immigration, has much more complicated identities than those Asian
country people where mixed people are rarely noticed. Thinking about the concept of identity, some
people easily categorized themselves as simple factors and terms which could describe their surface;
white, black, Asian, European, pretty, ugly, nice, mean and so on and so forth. And that is the most
point where majority people stopped to list their identities from exploring more in complicated range.
However, there are many people who dig more than common people; one great example would be
Denise Chavez, who is the author of the novel called Loving Pedro Infante, who kept asking herself
about her identity to approach more accurate and clear ideas. In her work, reader could see the
confusion of Tere, the main character of the novel, went through her life as Latin American female in
dealing with finding one s true identity and how she accept her as who she really is. Denise Chavez,
who is obviously Latin American lady, mirror her own life experience through the character she
created and introduce to readers about tough life she lived in America as Mejicana. The main character
of this novel have a clear understanding and strong idea about herself throughout the novel, even if

Preface
The Impact of Information Technology on the Workforce of the Future
To determine the impact of information technology on the workforce of the future, I conducted a study
using an historical perspective on the use of information technology in the workplace and by the
workforce.
This study also considered recent trends in workforce management such as telecommuting,
globalization, outsourcing, and off shoring activities. The results of this study revealed that
technological advances in office equipment over the past thirty years have enabled organizations to
improve operating efficiencies, improve communications, reduce costs, increase their global presence,

Computers loaded with word processing, spreadsheet analysis and presentation software programs
have become standard fixtures on each employee s desk. Some of the workforce became mobile,
conducting business outside of the traditional office settings through the use of Personal Digital
Assistants (PDAs), cellular phones and laptop computers. The initial users of mobile technology were
salespeople and executive management; however, easier access to the Internet allowed more
employees to become telecommuters, who conducted work related activities either from their homes
or from some other remote location.
Technological advances in electronic communication may continue to decrease the need for traditional
office setting while increasing the number of telecommuters. Electronic capabilities will also continue
to affect outsourcing, off shoring and globalization efforts by many organizations.
Collaboration technologies, currently being enhanced by Microsoft and IBM, may enable companies
to conduct virtual meetings in the near future. In a virtual meeting, employees from remote locations
conduct real time meetings from their own computers using peer to peer software. Participants can see
one another on computer screens, share computer space and make changes to product designs or
contract documents via a virtual whiteboard.

  • 2. Jekyll And Hyde Differences There are many differences between the characters in the book Jekyll and Hyde and the movie The League of Extraordinary Gentleman which portrays Jekyll and Hyde as the movies main characters. When I watched the movie, I noticed three main differences those are: in the movie they are trying to use Hyde while in the book they are trying to find and arrest him for murder, Jekyll doesn t hide Hyde in the movie, and Jekyll doesn t try to control Hyde as much as he does in the book then in the movie. The first difference that I will focus on is that in the movie they are trying to use Hyde for good and in the book, they are trying to arrest Hyde for murder. In the book Hyde murders a man by the name of Sir Danvers Carew. A maid witnesses this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. U.s. Bilateral Trade Agreements As discussed before, the recent decades has seen proliferation of Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs), of which bilateral and regional trade agreements are a part. Of the 162 member countries, Mongolia was the only WTO member without PFA by 2005 (WTO, 2016). There are several motivations behind bilateral trade negotiations, originating from the state of the economic and political situation of participating nations (McMahon, 2006). In the absence of broader trade agreements, bilateral trade agreements accomplish the objectives of market expansion and trade liberalisation of nations. Such agreements also affect the domestic front positively by decreasing cost of imported goods, resulting in lower prices of consumer goods and spurring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The recently signed Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) (signed on 4th February, 2016) by US and 12 Pacific Rim nations has be seen as one such agreement (Feldman, 2015). The intent of TTP, according to Feldman (2015), is to pursue the strategy of competitive liberalisation, it was first pursued by the US President Bush in 2003, in which bilateral, regional and global trade negotiations would complement and reinstate each another (Sbragia, 2010). The US strategy aimed to create a competition for liberalisation among its trading partners so that trade reforms in one market led to similar reforms and tariff reduction in other markets (Chan, 2005). The period witnessed many trading partners re negotiate their trade pacts with the US, thereby fulfilling the US objective to increase its sphere of influence and hegemony (Sbargia, 2010). Through TTP, the US now seeks to increase its sphere of influence in the Pacific Rim along with gaining economic benefits. Since the participating nations account for 40% of the world s GDP, any rules set by these will have global repercussions (Cao, 2015). The estimates of economic gains from the treaty, however, currently account for only 0.5% of US GDP (Rines, 2015). This strengthens the argument that the TTP is less about economic benefits and more about putting down a legal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Origins Of The And The Buffalo Wild Wings Across The... Warhammer terrain have something you like to do, even if we re mega nerds. Warhammer is about having a hobby, something you enjoy doing and can spend your excess time and income on. These people enjoy being mega nerds, so that is what they do. This group is a perfect outlet for them to do so. The origins of the group can be traced back several years. Red is the founder and unofficial leader. One of the oldest members, he is a longtime Warhammer player with over 10 years of experience. Many members turn to Red for minor rules questions that arise during games. Aside from Warhammer, the group will do things like eat at the Buffalo Wild Wings across the street after meetings. Several of the older members are married, with Red ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This happened not only in this game, but in all the others I observed as well. No matter which side was winning, players would give each other small bits of advice to prevent them from missing out on a good move or making a stupid mistake, and even to make sure they hit the most units possible with their explosive weapons. I initially thought this was due only to the friendly nature of the group. Later, though, I realized that, while this was the main factor, something else may have been at work as well. The members want to point things out to show that they know what they are doing. It makes them feel influential, regardless of whether they are winning or losing. After a particularly devastating turn for Lance s army, Bruno finally had accumulated enough objectives to win the match. Good game, sir, said Lance, and cordially shook Bruno s hand. This gentlemanly sportsmanship gave me an idea of the group s calm, welcoming attitude. Lance wasn t playing with the sole goal of victory. For him, Warhammer was more of a hobby than a duel. When asked about his favorite part of Warhammer, he replied, Painting the models. For me it s the hobby aspect. He still enjoyed putting his gloriously painted models to work in battle, but it wasn t why he played Warhammer. Despite this, he still had a place at the Warhammer group, even though the group only battles. Furthermore, his politeness and friendliness made Bruno welcome as well. ... • 5. Comparing The Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of... Max Weber s study was influential in the emergence of the spirit of modern capitalism and is applicable to leaders past and present. It is true Weber argues that Puritan ethics and ideas influenced the development of capitalism. The United States is seen as having a democratic capitalist political economic system due to its economic incentives through free markets, fiscal responsibility, and its liberal moral cultural system that encourages pluralism. In regard to the analysis of power in society, Weber again introduces a pluralistic notion (introduction to sociology, 2010). Applicable Theory of Max Weber on Political Leaders Weber s various religious ideas and economics encompasses The Protestant Ethic. Max believed Puritan ethics and ideas provided a strong influence on the birth of capitalism. Webster, while motivated by Karl Marx, was not a Marxist and even denounced aspects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Weber presented the idea of investing the money in an effort to promote the growth of capitalism. As a result; the Protestant ethic guided its followers to work, develop business, engage in commerce and ultimately accumulate wealth for investment. The Protestant ethic was therefore the driving force behind the mass action that led to the development of capitalism (the protestant ethic and the spirit of capitalism, 2016). In his book, The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, Weber explains how a strong Protestant work ethic and belief in living frugally helped foster the development of the capitalist economic system in the Western world. Although Protestantism dissolved socially, the system of capitalism was engraved to stay. This bureaucratic social structure, and the values, beliefs, and world views that supported and sustained it, became central to shaping social life. It was this very phenomenon that Weber conceived of as an iron cage (iron cage, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Transportation Has A Part Of Human History Transportation has been a part of human history since the beginning be it walking on foot on a trail through the forests, ships across the oceans, roads created by the horse or horse and carriage, to the rail roads that transected the United States to modern roadways. Many advancements on roadways throughout the years were made as each new form of transportation was improved. Then one day man could fly and hence another form of transportation made it possible for man to go from place to place in a fraction of the time compared to car or rail road. Along with these improved modes of transportation came new and inherent risks like head on collisions in vehicles, planes falling from the sky, and tunnel collapses in subways. With risk and threat comes the need for security and safety practices. Cars were made safer and roadways were improved to include guard rails, painted lines, traffic lights and stop signs. As the population grew so did the need to expand the ability to move about. Interstates were built, airports were built and subways were now a means of travel in the urban setting. As technology and the transportations system grew so did the threat and risk of damage from either natural or manmade disasters. We take for granted every day the roads we travel believing or thinking that nothing can or will happen to them where we live. So how what would happen if the transportation system suffered a major attack or damage? Roadways deliver goods by way of tractor trailers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay on The Argument from Design, by William Paley During the 1800th century, William Paley, an English philosopher of religion and ethics, wrote the essay The Argument from Design. In The Argument from Design, Paley tries to prove the existence of a supreme being through the development of a special kind of argument known as the teleological argument. The teleological argument is argument by analogy, an argument based on the similarities between two different subjects. This essay purposefully attempts to break down Paley s argument and does so in the following manner: firstly, Paley s basis for the teleological argument is introduced; secondly, Paley s argument is derived and analyzed; thirdly, the connection between Paley s argument and the existence of a supreme being is made; and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Having introduced Paley s main a posteriori experience, the following paragraphs will describe and justify Paley s reasoning for using such argument to describe the existence of a superior being. Firstly, Paley concentrates in the process leading to the creation of the watch. The process for creating a watch is very systematic and involves knowledge of mechanical engineering, a trade known to few men. Yet, it is not necessary to know the inner workings of the watch to use it on a daily basis: it is only necessary to understand the relationship between the position of the watch s hands to the sunrise and sunset of day. Paley concludes that even though he could not create a watch, some supreme being could create such watch. In other words, anything that shows evidence of creation has a creator and such creator exists or has existed at one point in time. To further refine the previous conclusion, Paley acknowledges the imprecision of the watch, for the watch is not always correct in predicting time. The watch might get ahead or behind, but the overall purpose for which the watch was created remains intact: it might predict the wrong time, note however, that it still predicts time. The conclusion in the previous paragraph is not contradicted by any of the watch s faults simply because the being s purpose for creating the watch still exists. Therefore, Paley s supreme being not only creates but also does so with a specific purpose. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Customer Orientation Of Airport Service Quality Introduction The aviation industry is one that is consistently changing and the demand in air travel is on the rise. With the rise in air travel, airports need to be able to handle the traffic. But the problem is that service quality in an airport declines when the airport has reached its design peak hour or even exceeded it. This simply means the airport cannot handle the amount of passengers it has thus customer satisfaction decreases. Today s air travelers have meaningful choices among airports and there is an increasing urgency among airport marketers to differentiate themselves by meeting the needs of customers better than the competition. While passengers perception of airport service quality is only one of several variables (e.g. routes, scheduling, location and prices) that contribute to overall airport attractiveness, it is nevertheless an important variable because of the increasing importance of a customer orientation to competitive advantage in this industry.(Fodness Murray, 2007) Solving it would result in a more efficient airport which can reduce the amount of delays at an airport whether is from aircraft landing or taking off or passenger traffic within the terminal thus giving the airport an advantage over the competition by becoming a preferred airport. Literature Review Airports are a place where passengers encounter a bundle of tangible and intangible services in what Bitner (1992) has characterized as an elaborate services cape . The ... The earliest research of blood transfusion started in the 17th century, a British physician named William Harvey discovered the circulation and properties of blood, which then inspired others to operate blood transfusions. This led to the first successful blood transfusion in 1665, which was performed by Richard Lower in England. He managed to save a severely injured dog by transfusing blood from another dog through a tied artery. The introduction of blood transfusion made a huge impact on humans, because it plays an important role in saving millions of lives each year. Blood transfusion is performed when a ... Freud s Psychoanalytic Theory Of Identity According to Freud the id is unconscious by definition: It is the dark, inaccessible part of our personality, what little we know of it we have learned from our study of the dream and of course the construction of neurotic symptoms, and most of that is of a negative character and can be described only as a contrast to the ego. During the British period, the growth of industrial output was hindered due to the utmost poverty of the rural population of India. The large proportion of the middle class population had a taste and choice of imported goods instead to indigenous products. The tariff protection provided by the British government was not enough to protect the industries because the government was neither interested in the establishment of industrial plants nor in the development of banks. Theories Of Incest Relationships Aside from disturbed family relationships and lack of spousal sexual activity as common preceding factors, there are innate psychological reasons why people engage themselves in incest relationships. Westermarck in 1891, suggested that men do not mate with their mothers and sisters not because of social rules, but because they are simply not turned on by those they were reared with. Westermarck s idea was simple. Men and women cannot recognize their relatives as relatives, so they have no way of preventing inbreeding as such. As the number of games plagued with intentional fouls increases, the number of fans will decrease. It is your job as the jurisdiction of the NBA, to make sure that the game does not regress, and that the fans are getting what they want. The solution to the problem of intentional fouling in the NBA is to give coaches the option of inbounding the ball instead of taking free throws. Intentional fouling is when a player fouls another player with the intent of putting them on the free throw line. This is called, The Hack a Shaq technique, because Hall of Fame player, Shaquille O Neal, was often targeted with intentional fouls. Players are targeted with the Hack a Shaq technique when they do not shoot free throws efficiently. One may wonder how such individuals can continue life if they must abandon all of their fundamental principles of living. Jonathan Lear describes in his book, Radical Hope, how Plenty Coups, the last chief of the Crow nation, was able to help his tribe discontinue their particular way of life in order to survive in the future. Lear states how Plenty Coups does this: Precisely because Plenty Coups sees that a traditional way of life is coming to an end, he is in a position to embrace a peculiar form of hopefulness. It is basically the hope for revival: for coming back to life in a form that is not yet intelligible (Lear 2006: 95). Through this statement, Lear implies many things. As a young boy, Plenty Coups experiences a dream in which he is told that the Crow culture is coming to an end and is given advice on how he must proceed with his life through certain virtues, such as listening and recognizing wisdom of others. His dream is interpreted by the Crow elders as an inevitable halt to their way of living. As Plenty Coups is able to anticipate the complete demolition of the Crow culture and its values, he recognizes he must adapt his perception of everyday life to whatever the necessary circumstances demand.
