Alberge, Dayla. Concert Hall Simulator Helps Musicians Prepare To Perform. The Guardian, March
22, 2015.
The author uses information gained through highly regarded professions to identify coping methods
most popular and effective amongst musicians. In particular, he investigates the use of beta blockers,
their side effects and use amongst highly accomplished musicians. The article is useful as it explores
one of the coping mechanising that is often not discussed due to its controversy, as Alberge discusses
in his article. More extensive research will be needed to look at the cognitive impact of beta blockers,
but this article gives good supplementary information and will be used for the final essay.

In Frankenstein victor messes up pretty bad. He created a monster and now has to pay for his choices,

Mass Shootings
Over this past decade, an increase in mass shootings has raised a concern in the control of firearms.
With the ever growing number of shootings, the death rate due to firearms has intensified. Thus, the
controversy over gun control has caused society to push the government to re evaluate the regulation
of firearms in the United States. Hence, in order to keep and provide a safe environment for American
citizens without fear of death by firearm, the government should regulate firearms.
According to the Second Amendment, it states, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the
security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed (Lund and
Winkler). With that said, most civilians do not possess firearms ... Show more content on

The comparison between the two states show how drastically gun regulations can influence the death
rate by firearms. In the state of Wyoming, firearm sellers are not required to check gun owner
backgrounds. Therefore, gun owners are not obligated to register their guns or have a gun license.
That is to say, there is little to no gun regulations in Wyoming giving it the number one spot in the
highest gun related deaths. On the other hand, Massachusetts has the laws that regulate the possession,
sale, and use of firearms and ammunition. Once the applicant has sent in their application for a guns
permit or license, the applicant must wait 40 days in which the authorities may deny or grant them
permission to carry a firearm ( Concealed Weapons ). As stated by the Law Center to Prevent Gun
Violence, Massachusetts is a may issue state for the issuance of licenses to carry firearms, meaning
that the local licensing authority has discretion in determining whether or not to issue either license
type to an applicant ( Concealed Weapons ). In this case, Massachusetts is significantly stricter than
Wyoming and any other state in the country. Thus, with its strict gun laws, it has the lowest gun
related death rate and is ranked as fifty on the charts of gun related deaths (Hendry 2015). This further

Figurative Language Analysis
In this classroom, students were interpreting and breaking down song lyrics to discover different typed

students were turning in their articles of the week. The teacher took this time to ask the students about
their plans for the weekend (it was a Friday). At the beginning of the class the students were listening
to a particular song, the teacher picked a newer song that the students enjoyed and stayed engaged
listening to. She passed out a paper copy of the lyrics, for the students to follow. Along with a lyric
sheet, she gave them another assignment with questions. They were to identify a type of figurative
language used in the song. Then at the end they were to pick a topic, three choices were given, to write

How Did Lois Lowry Influence On The Giver
The Giver, by Lois Lowry is about a young boy named Jonas who is growing up in a utopian society.
In The Giver they have no memories of anything that has pain even involved which meant that the
community had to get rid of some joyful things also. Jonas, the receiver, and The Giver himself are the
only two that know the memories. The author, Lois Lowry, was given the Newbery medal in 1994. In
her acceptance speech of the medal she stated things in her life that influenced her book, The Giver.
Many of the events in Lois Lowry s life had really influenced many of the big events in The Giver.
When Lois Lowry was in college she was living in dormitories with other girls. All of the girls dressed
in the same type of clothing. They all smoked the same type of cigarettes, had good grades, and were
valedictorians or class presidents. There was one girl who wasn t like the rest. This is like the book
because everybody in the book is the same except Jonas, Gabriel, The Giver, and the one little girl

Feminism In The Novel Herland
There are many different ways one may view a utopian society. While looking back in a historical
context of feminism, we may see feminism through a political aspect in a utopian society. The
connection between feminism and utopianism could be drastic if viewing in a historical context
because of the want of a perfect world which would include the equality of women. When reviewing
the novel Herland written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the author demonstrates her strong views on
feminism throughout the novel in many different ways. Gilman addresses gender roles throughout her
novel to express her own views of feminism in the late first wave of the feminist movement. To
understand the novel Herland in a historical context one must understand the challenges women have
faced in the mid 1800 s including the aspects of motherhood, marriage and not having the opportunity
to work.
Motherhood has changed throughout the world especially in today s time. In the 20th century women
tend to juggle many different aspects besides motherhood such as a job, school and their own
responsibilities. In the novel Herland the men in the novel express motherhood differently than the
basic norms. The women in the novel are not only expressed as doing the normal duties of a mother
such as cooking, cleaning and taking care of the children. In fact the women in the novel are shown
doing jobs a man would do. In the novel Gilman created her own utopian society where females were
superior and the roles

How Nelson Mandela used Rugby to unify South Africa Essay
After spending twenty seven years in prison, Nelson Mandela was released from prison on February
11, 1990. In 1991, Nelson Mandela was chosen to become president of the African National Congress.
In 1993, Mandela and South African President F.W. de Klerk announced an agreement that the African
National Congress and the National Party form a transitional government, effectively ending apartheid
and opening the political process to all South Africans (Williamson). Mandela was elected President
of South Africa in 1994, and de Klerk became his first deputy. However, even with apartheid
abolished, South Africa was still a divided country. Mandela s legal adviser, Nicholas Haysom, said,
South Africa in 1994 was a country that was split, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A year later, Mandela proposed that if the whites backed democratic elections, the next rugby cup
would be held in South Africa. The democratic elections occurred, Mandela won the presidency, and
the 1995 World Rugby Cup was awarded to South Africa. The Springboks were seen as the whites
team. The blacks hated and rooted against the Springboks, who had fourteen white players and just
one black player (30 for 30). They would cheer when the opponents would beat or hurt the
Springboks, because in their eyes they saw the people oppressing them being beat. However, Nelson
Mandela decided to embrace the Springbok team and use them as an opportunity to bring the nation
together. Mandela put on the Springbok hat at a rally in Soweto, endorsed the Springboks, and asked
the black South Africans to support them too (Lodge 212). The blacks met the speech with boos,
skepticism, and anger. Black South Africans hated rugby, and the Springbok logo was one directly
associated with apartheid oppression (Carlin 192). Nelson Mandela was a very calculated political
leader, and he understood that the black South Africans would be reluctant of accepting the
Springboks. However, he also understood the impact of sports and that an entire nation rooting for
their national team would bring the country together. South Africa was a very fragile nation at the
time, and if things at the World Cup went wrong, it could have backfired. Mandela s plan relied on
both the whites and blacks

The Influence of TV Advertisements on the Buying Behavior...
Introduction Advertisements are cost effective ways to disseminate messages with a view to build a
brand preference or to educate people (Kotler Keller, 2006). The majority of the marketers use mass
media for their marketing communications. The choice of media is dependent upon the nature of the
message and the intended target audience (Etzel et al, 2008). Television is generally acknowledged as
the most powerful advertising medium. The wide reach translates to low cost per exposure (Kotler
Keller, 2006). Over a longer period of time, the TV set has become a permanent fixture in all upper
and middle class households, and it is not uncommon even in the poorer society of urban areas and

The television medium is the most attractive and important place to advertise (Chandok, 2005).
Selvaraj (2007) observed that 70% population of India constitutes rural sector. Thus, it can be said the
marketers and advertisers who are having eyes on this market, must perceive opportunities to target
rural consumers of India. Kaur and Kaur (2002) explored fashion awareness among rural and urban
adolescents. They observed that television is the most important media of information regarding
fashion awareness among rural and urban respondents. With the population of over one billion, India
is on the threshold of becoming one of the world s foremost consumer markets. About a quarter of this
huge mass of consumers is urbanized and about three quarter are rural (Sehrawet Kundu, 2007). Most
South Asian respondents consider advertisements pleasurable, informative and economically
beneficial (Ramaprasad, 2001). One can attribute positive attitude to India being an emerging market
where anything new is fit for consumption (Saxena, 2005). Rising per capita income, increasing
expenditure, shift from lower to middle and middle to upper income group, changing lifestyle,
changing consumption pattern, and changing aspirations are the new features of the Indian rural
market (Bijapurkar, 2000). The total market size of rural is 1,23,000 crore which includes 65,000 crore

Summary Of The Rape Of Lucretia
In Livy s story the Rape of Lucretia, the writer illustrated prime examples on how gender is
represented in Roman society. The assumptions of both men and women roles within the Roman
Empire are defined and presented within this legend. The expectations of men, women, and honor are
identified to provide examples of the conventions about gender in Roman society. Men in the legend
were presented as being heavy drinkers and strong. On the other hand, women were represented as
being pure and weak in the eyes of men. The contrasting views of both men and women help illustrate
the assumptions about gender in Roman society defined in the story. In the legend, men were shown to

Lucretia was illustrated to be pure, faithful, and display honor to her husband, ...all impressed by
Lucretia s chaste honor (LVIII). On the other hand, Livy explained how weak and defenseless women
were during ancient Rome. At the same time, the author explained how men, such as Sextus
Tarquinius, could easily take advantage of women. Livy also expressed how honor was vital for
women to keep and maintain. The moment that Sextus viciously destroyed Lucretia s honor by taking
her chastity, illustrated how important honor was in the Roman empire. Lucretia felt like she was in
the wrong even though it was not her fault; however, the mindset that the expectation of women
should show honor and be faithful was extremely important in Roman society. The overall assumption
of women in Roman society to be pure, faithful, and display honor was greatly exemplified in Livy s
legend. The expectation for women to live up to their general duties during this time was a huge focus
in the Roman empire. Thus, Livy presented the assumptions about women in Roman society to be

The Philosophy Of Descartes Meditations
Descartes Meditations is said to be the beginning of Western Philosophy. His writings are still greatly
referred to to this day, and he is most famous for his quote cogito ergo sum which translates to I think,
therefore I am. Each of Descartes meditations are followed by objections from other theologists and
philosophers, and thereon followed by replies from Descartes. Some objections are made stronger than
others, for example, Thomas Hobbes, and it could be doubted whether or not Descartes truly was able
to successfully counter Hobbes objections. Hobbes wrote the third set of objections on all six of
Descartes meditations, and in some cases making multiple objections within one meditation. Descartes
first meditation concerns those things that can be called into doubt. It is in this mediation that
Descartes relays all of which he previously believed in his life that could be false. He, in turn, decides
that it would be best if he forgo all of his beliefs that could be false and begin again by starting with
more certain bases. Descartes discusses his belief that though the senses are what we base our most
certain knowledge on, the senses can be deceptive; for example, we sense things in dreams just as we
do when we are awake. Hobbes objects to this meditation by saying if we leave out reason and only
take into account our senses, then doubt is what follows; however, Plato had already come out with
the idea of sensory deception as it applies to dreams, and so all

Media In The Media
Media has taken up an important role in our Democratic society. Today it would be extremely difficult
to carry on this democracy without the use of the media. Its essential use grants citizens the right to
freely express themselves and allows the public to be well informed. Under the First Amendment,
citizens have the right to freedom of speech and freedom of the press. They are present with two ways
of getting their information, either from printed or digital media. These two forms provide a great way
to communicate with a large audience by newspapers, radios, televisions, or online. Not only does the
media help the public get their voice heard, it also has an initial responsibility to supply the public
with information, cover current events, and help form educated opinions. For example, with the public
being informed directly through different sources, it reduces the need to rely on the government for
information. Being able to receive information from diverse sources, whether they re factual or
opinion, it helps create a better understanding towards a particular topic. By doing so, a decision is
made to determining what side one stands on and allows them to communicate with individuals who
also share the same point of views. As for current events, the news provides coverage over political,
social and economic issues which allow citizens to become familiarized with surrounding
developments whether good or bad. Not only do citizens benefit from the media, but it has been

More to the south of modern Shaanxi area, where the part of the Chinese population was greater than

We no longer live in the Mad Men era, but the modern workplace is still responsible for some of the

six teen years and over were employed. In March of 2016, only 70,777 women, six teen years and
over were employed. This is not because of sexist reasoning, this is because of women not wanting to
do the hard work that a man is willing to do daily. So whenever I am asked if I think this drastic
employment rate is sexism, I will firmly say no. I believe that the employment rate difference has to
do with the fact that many women refuse to work jobs that are physically more challenging or that

Computer Related Technology Use The Force Concept Inventory
In Computer related technology use in the high school physics classroom: A case study, the study was
done with a focus on qualitative data, but the Force Concept Inventory (FCI) was administered to
students and analyzed to add a quantitative component to the study (McClure, 1996). The copy of the
Force Concept Inventory in the study shows that it focuses on material from the first half of a physics
curriculum, such as Newton s laws, kinematics, and uniform circular motion. The study Assessing the
Effectiveness of E learning Integration in College Physics in the Alamo Community Colleges District,
also used the Force Concept Inventory to assess achievement. According to the researcher, The
examination was designed to probe all the dimensions that are central to basic college physics. It
serves as the most reliable single index of students understanding of basic college physics (Zhou,
2012). The researcher also talks about how since the FCI was created it has been validated multiple
times. The consistent validity makes this measure great for measuring achievement but only for the
content in the first half of a college physics course. While this is extremely useful it is not useful for
my study. The Physics Achievement Test (PAT) may be a more useful measure for my study. This is a

Rivalry Of Elizabeth
Rivalry between Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots
Religion is a main reason why Elizabeth executed Mary. Evidence which supports this reason is that
some English Catholics would have preferred Mary as Queen of England. This would have made
Elizabeth feel as she would need to execute Mary because Mary gave Catholics a reason to rebel
against Elizabeth. Elizabeth was a protestant queen and most Catholics preferred a queen of their own
belief. Thus, this was the best time to rebel against Elizabeth and gain a new catholic queen who lead
the country. All they had to do, was releasing her from imprisonment. An argument in support of this
evidence is that in 1570 the Pope issued a Bull ordering. Catholics should disobey Elizabeth because
she was heretic. Catholics must follow the Pope and believe in him as the legitimate head of church.
McLaren describes that not solely the papal bull had consequences in the year 1570, but also James
Stewart s assassination:
If the near conjunction of the papal bull and the Northern Rebellion does not explain the change in
character of English anti Catholicism, 1570 still remains a key date in its career. The key event,
however, belongs to a British history whose parameters and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This would give the Catholics courage to take Elizabeth off the throne and crown a catholic queen
instead, as this is what the Pope wanted. A further piece of evidence is the Northern rebellion of 1569.
It was a catholic attempt to replace Elizabeth with Mary. This would have made Elizabeth feel that she
would need to execute Mary because this event happened so quickly as she has only been there for a
year. Mary did not agree to it because she knew it would fail. Religion links to other factors such as
dynastic reasons, because Mary said she was the rightful Queen of England and Elizabeth was
illegitimate because the Catholics did not believe in

The Handmaid s Tale By Margret Atwood
In the novel, The Handmaid s Tale , the author Margret Atwood introduces a dystopian America where
everything that once was is no more. In this society there is a change in the state s entire structure, it
has returned to its traditional ways or in other words a religious trap; both women and men are sorted
into categories, and each plays their part. Men can be Angles, Commanders or Guardians. Angles are
unknown but they are the ones who run society, commanders are slightly lower in rank with wives,
and the guardians are guards of the city and make sure the woman do not step out of line. The woman

In the first chapter we are introduced to our narrator, Offred, along with her situation. She is a
handmaid who will go to different homes trying to conceive a child. But before she is put into a home,
she is trained on how to be a proper handmaid. She is conditioned to believe in what the government
deems acceptable and is punished with an electric cattle prod when she steps out of line. She does not
have a say in what happens to her and as a women who experienced life before this traditional reform,
she longs for her old lifestyle. She wishes for an escape though she knows that could not happen with
the Angels guarding the fence that surrounds the building. With that knowledge, she thinks about
making a deal with the Angles. She does not have money, a position of power in society, or goods to
exchange, but she does have her body. This is where the idea of the body becoming control stems
from. As long as she has her body, she has something to bargain with, a tool to use to get her what she
wants most. Her body is an object of power to her because it arouses men and it is something they
want, so in order for her to get something from them, she must give her body in exchange. The first
chapter is crucial when discussing the theme because it is constantly brought up throughout the novel.

Understanding the Potential Penalties of your DUI or DWI
Just when you ve gritted your teeth, pondering the potential penalties of your DWI charge and think
you ll come out unscathed, your District Attorney will shoot for sentences indicative of your crime.
These potential penalties stiffen when refusing various testing and getting busted within school zones
or student crosswalks. These could be added to your current DWI offense as accessory charges, yet
your attorney will probably get them dropped. Here s some alternative punishments to imprisonment
that many attorneys will shoot for; note, New Jersey residents may not be given much of a choice.
Driver Improvement Classes Everyone convicted, and sentenced, to various classes and programs
could take advantage of state approved Driver Improvement Education which, upon successful
completion, will take 3 points away from current license tally. Managed by MVC professionals, these
classes are geared towards those who ve received little driving experience, have trouble understanding
the various rules, or need better driving acuity to continually use the roadways offered by New Jersey.
Two classes, both costing $150 each, are offered for sentenced DWI offenders, and the general public.
Please note that failure to attend these classes as part of your sentencing will only cause further
suspensions or having this option deemed unavailable in the future. Any violations within 1 year after
successful completion of classes will result in suspension as well. Therefore, take these easy

The Impact Of Poplar Plantation On The World s Largest...
Poplar is a versatile tree species that is highly amenable to vegetative propagation (Jiaxing et al.
2014), it has a rapid growth rate, which is a good model system for the transformation of woody plant
species (Ali Movahedi et al.2014). These trees are highly beneficial to our environment; their oxygen
plays a vital role in the protection of soil erosion in eastern China. They are used as habitat for
wildlife, soil carbon sequestration, and phytoremediation. They are able to grow in lowland and
highland forestation (Bernd et al., 2004), which makes them very important to the pulp, paper, and
cosmetic industries (Ferreira et al., 2009). The P. deltoides are one of the fastest growing trees in
North America (Haverbeke et al., 2000). They are the largest North American hardwood tree (Steve
Nix, et al., 2001). Poplar plantation plays an important role in eastern China agriculture industries. In
2002, the Republic of China launched the world s largest tree planting project, within the same year
their State Forestry Administration approved genetically modified poplars for commercial planting.
China has over one million genetically modified crops that have been planted (Chris Lang, 2004).
Furthermore, they have over 7.0 million hm2 poplars planted, which makes them one of the countries
with the largest poplar plantation. As many countries, The Chinese government is highly interested in

Black Scholes Pricing Model
In 1973, Myron Scholes and Fisher Black developed the framework on option pricing and presented
the theory in their seminal paper. With reference to both approach and application the Black Scholes
Model is considered to be one of the most significant concepts in modern financial theory. For valuing
options the Black Sholes Model is viewed as a standard model.
Assumptions
To compute the value of a stock option the Black Scholes Option Pricing Model is used. Both call and
put option can be calculated with the help of the model. For the accurate application of the Black
Scholes Pricing Model it is necessary to be familiar with its assumptions. Black and Scholes specified
the following assumptions in their seminal paper (1973). (Ray, 2012)
I. Constant volatility
Volatility refers to the movement of the stock price whether upwards or downwards. The model
assumes that the volatility does not change and is known to market participants. This implies that the
variance of the return remains constant over the life of the option.
II. No Dividends
The model assumes that the underlying asset (stock) does not pay any dividends during the option s
life.
III. European exercise terms are

Tom Cruise Case Study
Tom Cruise is one of Hollywood s most recognizable celebrity worldwide and thus a perfect subject to
break down three psychological concepts seen throughout the media. Motivational bias, where people
sees what he wants to see, (1) is the first topic we will cover about Tom Cruise. During the filming of
the movie Mummy which was originally scripted as a horror thriller movie, the leading star Mr. Cruise
decided to take over and change the script to more of an action movie because he personally thought
the movie would be not only better but more successful. Another concept that goes hand in hand with
motivational bias is our next topic about Self fulfilling prophecy, a prediction that becomes true (2).
The Mummy, unfortunately was a box office flop. Tom Cruise predicted that if he made all these
changes to the script and increased the movies spending budget that it would be successful, but that
not ended up being the case. Scientology is popular amongst the celebrities but Tom Cruise without a
doubt has made it abundantly clear about his connections with the church and this is where our third
concept comes into play of the route of persuasion. Moscovici Theory, how the minority can influence
the majority, (3) explains the breakdown of Mr. Cruise s views and beliefs of his Church to the public
eye during sit down televised interviews.
Tom Cruise, the hollywood heavyweight, is the man to psychologically break down for his unique
characteristics and the stories he crafts. Mr.

Benefits and Disadvantages of School Choice
The purpose of this research paper is to investigate the benefits and drawbacks of school choice with
respect to the impact on the students involved in the process. Over the years, school vouchers, school
choice and charter schools have been grouped into one umbrella category known as school choice.
The three types of school choice are very different yet very much the same and each topic will be
discussed in depth and analyzed with examples and opinions from other authors. Overall, there have
always been experts with both positive and negative remarks about the issues surrounding school

Some arguments on the advantages of school choice were found on the website schoolchoiceinfo.org,
which includes many stories about individual families who have benefited from school choice. The
website also explains how in Cleveland, Florida and Milwaukee over 14,500 families have benefited
from school choice programs. Making the parents more involved in the students education as well as
feeling a higher level of satisfaction from the children s education, the programs also provides less
discrimination based on economic status, or racial background, as well as many other things.
In Depth of School Choice
One family story is found on the website, schoolchoiceinfo.org, in informational website about the
benefits of school choice. The website describes how the Beauduy family of Florida benefited from
being able to partake of the school choice program. Being able to chose to send one child to a magnet
school out side the assigned school district, has shaped the family and made the entire family happier
overall allowing the family to have saved enough money to live in a safer neighborhood. On the other
hand, the article The Price of Public School Choice, by Howe, Eisenhart and Betebenner, discusses the
drawbacks of school choice. The authors explain how the schools with more resources will gain too
many students, leaving the students that cannot choose or do not wish to, behind in the bad schools.

Solomon Scale Model Essay
In my model, assessment of athletes, the coaches, and the parents is in constant motion. First, the
coach and consultant have to establish a trustworthy relationship and then as time progresses, each
assessment is more accurate and reliable.
At the beginning, middle, and end of the session, I suggest the coach and consultant use the Solomon

sound relationship with each athlete, the coach and consultant can make a more accurate subjective
assessment of each athlete.
The Solomon Scale is an assessment that allows one to asses 30 attributes (such as self discipline, love

reason the Germans felt they needed to strike back at their enemies and cause an even greater calamity

by the nations that won the first world war. Although it was majorly created by the delegates of the 3

Document A discusses this by showing a map of what the geography of Germany had been after the
Versailles Treaty terms, with Alsace and Lorraine, their main production of coal, now in possession of
France. To put it another way, the process of Germany being stripped of some its land through the
Versailles Treaty s terms had provided an opportunity for the Germans to initiate war in order to regain
their land and resources back, along with power. However, this is not the only instance of this, another
document validates that the Versailles Treaty had helped cause WWII through its unjust terms. That
document would be the famous book created by Adolf Hitler himself, Mein Kampf . In this segment of
the book, it can be paraphrased that Hitler feels Germany is naive for believing that the Versailles
Treaty will solve the conflicts between all of Europe, instead he recommends that Germany goes to
war in order to destroy the unjust terms that oppress them because the restoration of Germany can
only be achieved through blood. In other words, Hitler is saying that Germany needs to fight in order
to rid themselves of the restrictions imposed by the Versailles Treaty because any peaceful means are
flawed. Consequently, it can be inferred that because of the Versailles Treaty, it allowed Hitler to
persuade Germany to fight to made the restrictions of the Versailles Treaty void all the more easy and
because of this Germany becomes more of a threat thus making the nations ally and fight creating

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
Section 1
Presentation
To encourage missions in dangerous situations, flying stages that are little, spry and can take of
vertically are of investment. A stage that satisfies these necessities is a UAV (Unmanned Aerial
Vehicle) as a multicopter joined with a great control framework. A multicopter is a rotorcraft that has
more than two rotors, in light of the fact that a rotorcraft with two rotors is called helicopter (bicopter).
Multicopters have altered cutting edges with a pitch that are not conceivable to control, as it
accomplishes for a helicopter (through the swashplate), to control the bearing of the rotor push.
Rather, the rate of the rotors are shifted to accomplish movement control of a multicopter. For a
tricopter, there is additionally a servo joined that can tilt one of the engines and by that accomplish a
change in movement. Multirotor air ships are regularly utilized within model and radio controlled
activities due to the straightforward development and control. Because of the amount of rotors, the
extent of them doesn t have to be substantial in examination with a helicopter that just has one rotor to
actuate enough drive to lift it up. Uavs are frequently utilized within spots where it is troublesome for
a man to work in, for example, perilous situations, soak landscape and so forth. It is likewise a suitable

if Frankenstein will accept him as a son. Whereas in the 1957 film he is in a box full of water, and is

The director of the 1994 film made the lab realistic, by making the lab dirty and showing all sorts of
scientific instruments. He also makes Frankenstein take his shirt off, get dirty and really get stuck into
the birth of the monster, this suggests that he seems to want to be part of the creation more than in the
1957 version. Also in this film Frankenstein is studying at the university of Ingolstadt and in one scene
we see peasants fleeing the city because of an outbreak of a disease. This is something which is not
used in the 1957 version. In contrast the 1957 film s director chooses to make Frankenstein wear a suit
and work in a very stereotypical lab. Although the 1994 film chooses to use a wider environment, this
film decides to use gothic horror, which the other film doesn t, they do this by using lightening when
the creature is born.
In the 1957 film Frankenstein is portrayed as a posh, snobby and self obsessed this is show by the
house he lives in, his servants and the fact that he is always in his lab working on his creation. Good
friends like Paul fall out with him because of his creation, Frankenstein is so driven he doesn t care

Giorgio Vasari Research Paper
Then arose new architects who after the manner of their barbarous nations erected buildings in that
style which we call Gothic (dei Gotthi). Florentine historiographer Giorgio Vasari (1511 1574) was the
first to label the architecture of preceding centuries Gothic, in reference to the Nordic tribes that
overran the Roman empire in the sixth century. Vasari implied that this architecture was debased,
especially compared to that of his own time, which had revived the forms of classical antiquity. Long
since rid of derogatory connotations, the label is now used to characterize an art form based on the
pointed arch, which emerged around Paris in the middle of the twelfth century, was practiced
throughout Europe, and lingered in some regions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While most early medieval churches were covered with timber ceilings, many Romanesque buildings
have either stone barrel vaults (i.e., semi circular) or groin vaults (i.e., bays of barrel vaults crossing at
a right angle). Their walls are necessarily thick to counter the outward thrust of the vault, and they
allow only small windows. From 1100 onward, architects experimented with innovations that, once
properly combined, allowed the dissolution of the wall and a fluid arrangement of space. For example,
they adopted the pointed arch, which has a lesser lateral thrust than the round arch and is easily
adaptable to openings of various widths and heights. They also developed a system of stone ribs to
distribute the weight of the vault onto columns and piers all the way to the ground; the vault could
now be made of lighter, thinner stone and the walls opened to accommodate ever larger windows.
Equally important, flying buttresses began to appear in the 1170s, whose vertical members (uprights)
are connected to the exterior wall of the building with bridge like arches (flyers). These external
structures absorb the outward thrust of the vault at set intervals just under the roof, making it possible
to reduce the building s exterior masonry shell to a mere skeletal

The article is useful as it explores one of the coping mechanising that is often not discussed due to its controversy, as Alberge discusses in his article. More extensive research will be needed to look at the cognitive impact of beta blockers, but this article gives good supplementary information and will be used for the final essay. • 5. Mass Shootings Over this past decade, an increase in mass shootings has raised a concern in the control of firearms. With the ever growing number of shootings, the death rate due to firearms has intensified. Thus, the controversy over gun control has caused society to push the government to re evaluate the regulation of firearms in the United States. Hence, in order to keep and provide a safe environment for American citizens without fear of death by firearm, the government should regulate firearms. According to the Second Amendment, it states, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed (Lund and Winkler). With that said, most civilians do not possess firearms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The comparison between the two states show how drastically gun regulations can influence the death rate by firearms. In the state of Wyoming, firearm sellers are not required to check gun owner backgrounds. Therefore, gun owners are not obligated to register their guns or have a gun license. That is to say, there is little to no gun regulations in Wyoming giving it the number one spot in the highest gun related deaths. As stated by the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, Massachusetts is a may issue state for the issuance of licenses to carry firearms, meaning that the local licensing authority has discretion in determining whether or not to issue either license type to an applicant ( Concealed Weapons ). In this case, Massachusetts is significantly stricter than Wyoming and any other state in the country. Thus, with its strict gun laws, it has the lowest gun related death rate and is ranked as fifty on the charts of gun related deaths (Hendry 2015). This further justifies ... At one point, one student was sitting their staring into space (silently non compliant), the teacher simply stated, (student s name), are you doing alright? He just replied that he was a little tired and got back to work. In The Giver they have no memories of anything that has pain even involved which meant that the community had to get rid of some joyful things also. Jonas, the receiver, and The Giver himself are the only two that know the memories. The author, Lois Lowry, was given the Newbery medal in 1994. In her acceptance speech of the medal she stated things in her life that influenced her book, The Giver. Many of the events in Lois Lowry s life had really influenced many of the big events in The Giver. When Lois Lowry was in college she was living in dormitories with other girls. All of the girls dressed in the same type of clothing. They all smoked the same type of cigarettes, had good grades, and were valedictorians or class presidents. • 8. Feminism In The Novel Herland There are many different ways one may view a utopian society. While looking back in a historical context of feminism, we may see feminism through a political aspect in a utopian society. The connection between feminism and utopianism could be drastic if viewing in a historical context because of the want of a perfect world which would include the equality of women. When reviewing the novel Herland written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the author demonstrates her strong views on feminism throughout the novel in many different ways. Gilman addresses gender roles throughout her novel to express her own views of feminism in the late first wave of the feminist movement. To understand the novel Herland in a historical context one must understand the challenges women have faced in the mid 1800 s including the aspects of motherhood, marriage and not having the opportunity to work. Motherhood has changed throughout the world especially in today s time. In the 20th century women tend to juggle many different aspects besides motherhood such as a job, school and their own responsibilities. In the novel Herland the men in the novel express motherhood differently than the basic norms. The women in the novel are not only expressed as doing the normal duties of a mother such as cooking, cleaning and taking care of the children. In fact the women in the novel are shown doing jobs a man would do. In the novel Gilman created her own utopian society where females were superior and the roles ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The democratic elections occurred, Mandela won the presidency, and the 1995 World Rugby Cup was awarded to South Africa. The Springboks were seen as the whites team. The blacks hated and rooted against the Springboks, who had fourteen white players and just one black player (30 for 30). They would cheer when the opponents would beat or hurt the Springboks, because in their eyes they saw the people oppressing them being beat. However, Nelson Mandela decided to embrace the Springbok team and use them as an opportunity to bring the nation together. Mandela put on the Springbok hat at a rally in Soweto, endorsed the Springboks, and asked the black South Africans to support them too (Lodge 212). The blacks met the speech with boos, skepticism, and anger. Black South Africans hated rugby, and the Springbok logo was one directly associated with apartheid oppression (Carlin 192). Nelson Mandela was a very calculated political leader, and he understood that the black South Africans would be reluctant of accepting the Springboks. However, he also understood the impact of sports and that an entire nation rooting for their national team would bring the country together. His writings are still greatly referred to to this day, and he is most famous for his quote cogito ergo sum which translates to I think, therefore I am. Each of Descartes meditations are followed by objections from other theologists and philosophers, and thereon followed by replies from Descartes. Some objections are made stronger than others, for example, Thomas Hobbes, and it could be doubted whether or not Descartes truly was able to successfully counter Hobbes objections. Hobbes wrote the third set of objections on all six of Descartes meditations, and in some cases making multiple objections within one meditation. Descartes first meditation concerns those things that can be called into doubt. It is in this mediation that Descartes relays all of which he previously believed in his life that could be false. He, in turn, decides that it would be best if he forgo all of his beliefs that could be false and begin again by starting with more certain bases. Descartes discusses his belief that though the senses are what we base our most certain knowledge on, the senses can be deceptive; for example, we sense things in dreams just as we do when we are awake. Hobbes objects to this meditation by saying if we leave out reason and only take into account our senses, then doubt is what follows; however, Plato had already come out with the idea of sensory deception as it applies to dreams, and so all ... • 19. Media In The Media Media has taken up an important role in our Democratic society. Today it would be extremely difficult to carry on this democracy without the use of the media. Its essential use grants citizens the right to freely express themselves and allows the public to be well informed. Under the First Amendment, citizens have the right to freedom of speech and freedom of the press. They are present with two ways of getting their information, either from printed or digital media. These two forms provide a great way to communicate with a large audience by newspapers, radios, televisions, or online. Not only does the media help the public get their voice heard, it also has an initial responsibility to supply the public with information, cover current events, and help form educated opinions. For example, with the public being informed directly through different sources, it reduces the need to rely on the government for information. Being able to receive information from diverse sources, whether they re factual or opinion, it helps create a better understanding towards a particular topic. By doing so, a decision is made to determining what side one stands on and allows them to communicate with individuals who also share the same point of views. • 25. Rivalry Of Elizabeth Rivalry between Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots Religion is a main reason why Elizabeth executed Mary. Evidence which supports this reason is that some English Catholics would have preferred Mary as Queen of England. This would have made Elizabeth feel as she would need to execute Mary because Mary gave Catholics a reason to rebel against Elizabeth. Elizabeth was a protestant queen and most Catholics preferred a queen of their own belief. Thus, this was the best time to rebel against Elizabeth and gain a new catholic queen who lead the country. All they had to do, was releasing her from imprisonment. An argument in support of this evidence is that in 1570 the Pope issued a Bull ordering. Catholics should disobey Elizabeth because she was heretic. Catholics must follow the Pope and believe in him as the legitimate head of church. McLaren describes that not solely the papal bull had consequences in the year 1570, but also James Stewart s assassination: If the near conjunction of the papal bull and the Northern Rebellion does not explain the change in character of English anti Catholicism, 1570 still remains a key date in its career. Black and Scholes specified the following assumptions in their seminal paper (1973). (Ray, 2012) I. Constant volatility Volatility refers to the movement of the stock price whether upwards or downwards. The model assumes that the volatility does not change and is known to market participants. • 31. Tom Cruise Case Study Tom Cruise is one of Hollywood s most recognizable celebrity worldwide and thus a perfect subject to break down three psychological concepts seen throughout the media. Motivational bias, where people sees what he wants to see, (1) is the first topic we will cover about Tom Cruise. During the filming of the movie Mummy which was originally scripted as a horror thriller movie, the leading star Mr. Cruise decided to take over and change the script to more of an action movie because he personally thought the movie would be not only better but more successful. Another concept that goes hand in hand with motivational bias is our next topic about Self fulfilling prophecy, a prediction that becomes true (2). The Mummy, unfortunately was a box office flop. Tom Cruise predicted that if he made all these changes to the script and increased the movies spending budget that it would be successful, but that not ended up being the case. Scientology is popular amongst the celebrities but Tom Cruise without a doubt has made it abundantly clear about his connections with the church and this is where our third concept comes into play of the route of persuasion. Moscovici Theory, how the minority can influence the majority, (3) explains the breakdown of Mr. Cruise s views and beliefs of his Church to the public eye during sit down televised interviews. Tom Cruise, the hollywood heavyweight, is the man to psychologically break down for his unique characteristics and the stories he crafts. Mr. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To put it another way, the process of Germany being stripped of some its land through the Versailles Treaty s terms had provided an opportunity for the Germans to initiate war in order to regain their land and resources back, along with power. However, this is not the only instance of this, another document validates that the Versailles Treaty had helped cause WWII through its unjust terms. That document would be the famous book created by Adolf Hitler himself, Mein Kampf . In this segment of the book, it can be paraphrased that Hitler feels Germany is naive for believing that the Versailles Treaty will solve the conflicts between all of Europe, instead he recommends that Germany goes to war in order to destroy the unjust terms that oppress them because the restoration of Germany can only be achieved through blood. In other words, Hitler is saying that Germany needs to fight in order to rid themselves of the restrictions imposed by the Versailles Treaty because any peaceful means are flawed. Consequently, it can be inferred that because of the Versailles Treaty, it allowed Hitler to persuade Germany to fight to made the restrictions of the Versailles Treaty void all the more easy and because of this Germany becomes more of a threat thus making the nations ally and fight creating ... Whereas in the 1957 film he is in a box full of water, and is wrapped in bandages. The creature tries to strangle Frankenstein until he is stopped by Paul. Also in this film Frankenstein is studying at the university of Ingolstadt and in one scene we see peasants fleeing the city because of an outbreak of a disease. This is something which is not used in the 1957 version. In contrast the 1957 film s director chooses to make Frankenstein wear a suit and work in a very stereotypical lab. Florentine historiographer Giorgio Vasari (1511 1574) was the first to label the architecture of preceding centuries Gothic, in reference to the Nordic tribes that overran the Roman empire in the sixth century. Vasari implied that this architecture was debased, especially compared to that of his own time, which had revived the forms of classical antiquity. Long since rid of derogatory connotations, the label is now used to characterize an art form based on the pointed arch, which emerged around Paris in the middle of the twelfth century, was practiced throughout Europe, and lingered in some regions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While most early medieval churches were covered with timber ceilings, many Romanesque buildings have either stone barrel vaults (i.e., semi circular) or groin vaults (i.e., bays of barrel vaults crossing at a right angle). Their walls are necessarily thick to counter the outward thrust of the vault, and they allow only small windows. From 1100 onward, architects experimented with innovations that, once properly combined, allowed the dissolution of the wall and a fluid arrangement of space. For example, they adopted the pointed arch, which has a lesser lateral thrust than the round arch and is easily adaptable to openings of various widths and heights. They also developed a system of stone ribs to distribute the weight of the vault onto columns and piers all the way to the ground; the vault could now be made of lighter, thinner stone and the walls opened to accommodate ever larger windows. Equally important, flying buttresses began to appear in the 1170s, whose vertical members (uprights) are connected to the exterior wall of the building with bridge like arches (flyers). These external structures absorb the outward thrust of the vault at set intervals just under the roof, making it possible to reduce the building s exterior masonry shell to a mere skeletal ...
