Senior Project Basketball is more than just a sport Dwayne Wade was born January 17, 1982 in
Chicago, Illinois. Most people see Wade as just an NBA star who has a lot of money, but most
people don't know the full story of what he has been through in his life and how he got to the NBA.
When Wade was born, his parents separated a short while after and custody was given to his mother.
Then because of the crime in Chicago and financial issues Wade had to move with his father. This is
where Dwayne Wade began to play basketball and found out that he was really good at it. He was a
star on his high school varsity basketball team then moved up to the college and was unable to play
for his first two years because of his grades. For these two years that Wade couldn't play he still
practiced with the team and continued to work on and improve his game. In 2003 Wade entered the
NBA draft and was selected to play with the Miami Heat where he made himself an All–star and still

Devin Booker was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on October 30, 1996. He was born to Melvin
Booker and Veronica Gutierrez. His father, Melvin Booker, was named the 1994 Big Eight player of
the year while point guard at the University of Missouri. Booker was in Michigan, while his father
was pursuing a professional career overseas. Devin visited his father two months out of the year
while he was on summer break. At an early age, Devin was taught by his father that having a

Basketball is a sport that was created for a gym class and evolved into a worldwide sensation .
Basketball was created in 1891 by a man named James Naismith. He originally created the game for
his gym class because, it was unbearable outside for any other sports , and the game originally was

allowed on the court and present day there are only five players per team allowed on the court. Also,

The Hall of Fame for college basketball players was on the wall. It had just recently been updated
after the Hall of Fame presentation of Saturday. I had just woken up feeling cold. I looked out the
window of my dorm to see the dark, cloudy day outside with the rain pelting down on the window
pane. I was still really tired after the late night of getting praised on my amazing basketball skills,
finally I had been recognized and everyone was telling me that I needed to declare that I'm joining
the NBA as soon as possible! I then declared for the NBA draft halfway through my season.
The election for the new president was going on at that moment, but he wasn't really interested in
the elections, he heard on the radio what the soon to be president didn't like and what he did. The
main thing he heard though was that he didn't like basketball, how could anyone not like basketball?
How could I get rid of this new president to be? I looked up on the black market on the deep dark
web for an assassin. There were a few ads in there for Hit man's pest control and Hit man agent. I

As far as I could recall, I have always been a person who loves to help other individuals. I remember
being in the second grade and most of the times I would finish my classwork earlier than most of my
classmates. And, I would usually ask my classmates if they needed help with their work. Also,

stay after school to play basketball with my schoolmates. Furthermore, I also enjoyed playing with

On Monday night, the upstart Oklahoma City Thunder went into Oracle Arena and knocked off the
Golden State Warriors 108–102 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. The Thunder were
able to win on Monday night, thanks to a 19–point third quarter performance from point guard
Russell Westbrook. Westbrook 's play in the third quarter was the key to Oklahoma City 's comeback
as they were down 13 points at the half. The first half was not good for the Thunder or Westbrook as
he struggled with his jump shot. As a team, the Thunder shot 45.5 percent from the field but shot
50.0 percent from three–point range, which kept them in striking distance. But what killed
Oklahoma City in the first two quarters was turnovers as they had 10. Those 1o turnovers, lead to 15
points for the Warriors. As I mentioned earlier, Westbrook struggled on offense as he was getting
outplayed by his counterpart, two–time MVP Stephen Curry. In the first half, Curry had 14 points on
5–of–11 shooting from the field, to go along with six rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

The National Basketball Association, or the NBA, is a men's professional basketball league in the
USA. The National Basketball Association was born in 1949 after the Basketball Association of
America and the National Basketball League merged as one. Maurice Podoloff was elected head of
the new league that consisted of seventeen teams which came from cities and towns all across the
country. The NBA did not have a great start with its teams dwindling to only eight teams in the
1950s. At this point, the league transformed the game with the addition of the shot clock. The shot
clock in the NBA is 24 seconds, meaning the offensive team has 24 seconds from the time they
inbound the ball until the ball hits the rim on their side of the court. This addition increased the pace
of the game and made it more fun for fans to watch. Their transformation worked, and the league
returned to a financially stable one in the 1960/70s. Today, the NBA has millions of fans from all

Any discussion revolving around the two–time NBA MVP and world champion Stephen Curry that
doesn't bring up his rise from an undersized, scrawny point guard to the "baby–faced assassin" of

to the rule. In it, he mentions Curry as one of the prime examples showcasing a new definition of
"grit" postulated by University of Pennsylvania Professor Angela Duckworth: coining it as "passion
and perseverance for long–term goals." Indeed, he is deserving of the myriad of praise he garnered
over the last few years, overcoming many doubts surrounding him as he was entering the league and
inspiring young players, showing them that you don't need to be a freak athlete along the lines of
LeBron James to have success at the highest level. With that said, however, Curry's six–foot–three
frame isn't exactly short or undersized by NBA standards at the point guard position. In fact,

New York, New York– Walt Frazier is one of the greatest Knicks, and one of the 50 greatest players
in NBA history. He is the epitome of the overused word legend, expect in Frazier case he actually
fits the description. Part of his legend is that he gives back to the city that made him into a
household name. His annual basketball camp is held in the city which gives many youths a chance at
running drills, and doing various cardio workouts with instruction from various coaches that ranges
from the high school, college, and even pro level. Thousands of kids from across the city of all races
flock to this camp to learn the game of basketball from one of the all time greats. "I been doing
camps since I started with the Knicks in 1967. Once I retired I still continued to work with the kids.
I've doing the camp for almost 40 years It 's a real blessing. A proud Frazier said. During Frazier
decent up the basketball ladder in Georgia the players from his generation didn 't have this type of
experience of having pro, and college athletes come in and teach them the finer points of the games.
Frazier comes from an era where he didn 't have all the facilities and specialized equipment that the

Phil Jackson was born Philip Douglas Jackson on September 17, 1945, in Deer Lodge, Montana to
two Assemblies of God ministers. Jackson and his siblings were raised in a household where they
were not allowed to watch movies or television, and couldn't even dance for enjoyment. During his
high school career, he played basketball, football and baseball but only had the desire to play
basketball after graduation and received a scholarship from North Dakota to play there. Although his
college career was short, he helped his team win third– and fourth–place finishes in the NCAA
Division II championships. In the 1967 NBA Draft, he was selected by the New York Knicks in the
second round. Even though he wasn't an elite superstar, the Knicks were able to win two NBA
Championships in 1970 and 1973 against the Los Angeles Lakers while Jackson was a member of
the team. After retiring from the NBA as a player in 1980, he decided to pursue the opportunity to be
a coach. He received his first coaching assignment with the New Jersey Nets as an assistant coach.

structural–functionalist perspective? You notice that playing basketball for a high school can help
physically, mentally, socially, and academically. Not only does playing basketball for a school not
only build friendships between team members, but could also give them that competitive edge to
become better than who they are physically and mentally. For a student to continue playing
basketball for a school, he'll have to stay in shape for the season and be able to keep the grades
above average. Academically, at a college level, basketball is a good and bad thing. Majority of

realized that people come to basketball games to be entertained and if their products can be
marketed in a way that promises entertainment, or presented in a way that is entertaining, then
people will pay attention, and money.

reader is immediately faced with faced with a multitude of entertainment opportunities that go far
beyond basketball. The inside of the cover presents a combination advertisement for Whirlpool and
Best Buy. The page is full of vibrant colors and centers on a mirror image of a young woman
beneath a waterfall of both water and colors. "Wash Your World Clean" stands out in the middle of
the page, and the slogans for the respective advertising companies also appear: "Turn on the Fun"
and "Just Imagine" (Yearbook). Perhaps somewhat ironically, each company could effectively use
the other's catchphrase. Both promise some sort of entertainment, something that fans attending a
basketball game are certainly craving. The words "fun" and "imagine" promise to fulfill what the
readers desire. Incidentally, the "Turn on the Fun" slogan belongs to Best Buy and "Just Imagine" to
Whirlpool. The page adjacent to the colorful inside cover is quite different. It has a
